1Effect of gastrin on differentiation of rat intestinal epithelial cells in vitro显示文摘AIM: To investigate the effect of gastrin on differentiation of IEC-6 cell line in vitro.METHODS: IEC-6 cells were incubated with gastrin. On day 7 after treatment, cell morphology was examined by light microscope, and on day 20, the cellular ultrastructures were examined by electron microscope. After exposure to gastrin for 6 hours, villin mRNA was analyzed by reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction, and on day 7, the expression of villin was examined by immunocytochemical analysis with laser confocal microscope.RESULTS: After exposure to gastrin, IEC-6 cells showed differentiated phenotypes as villas enterocytes and contained an abundance of plasma, small nuclei with nucleoli, and were arranged regularly. There were numerous microvilli around edge of the cells, and several cells showed columnar structures. Villin mRNA expression in cytoplasm was increased in comparison with control.CONCLUSION: Differentiated characteristics of villus enterocytes and phenotypic changes of rat intestinal epithelial cells(IEC-6) are induced by gastrin, and the effects of gastrin are correlated to increased villin expression.ZhouWang Wei-WenChen Ru-LiuLi BinWen Jing-BoSun 2003World Journal of Gastroenterology2003,9,8:8

5Compression Algorithm for Implicit 3D B-Spline Solids显示文摘Due to advantages in solid modeling with complex geometry and its ideal suitability for 3D printing,the implicit representation has been widely used in recent years.The demand for free-form shapes makes the implicit tensor-product B-spline representation attract more and more attention.However,it is an important challenge to deal with the storage and transmission requirements of enormous coefficient ten-sor.In this paper,we propose a new compression framework for coefficient tensors of implicit 3D tensor-product B-spline solids.The proposed compression algorithm consists of four steps,i.e.,preprocessing,block splitting,using a lifting-based 3D discrete wavelet transform,and coding with 3D set partitioning in hierarchical trees algorithm.Finally,we manage to lessen the criticism of the implicit tensor-product B-spline representation of surface for its redundancy store of 3D coefficient tensor.Experimental results show that the proposed compression framework not only achieves satisfactory reconstruction quality and considerable compression ratios,but also sup-ports progressive transmissions and random access by employing patch-wise coding strategy.Yanzhi Song Yixin Luo Yuan Liu Jiansong Deng Zhouwang Yang 2018Communications in Mathematics and Statistics2018,6,2:1

8Discretizing Laplace–Beltrami Operator from Differential Quantities显示文摘The Laplace–Beltrami operator(LBO)is the fundamental geometric object associated with manifold surfaces and has been widely used in various tasks in geometric processing.By understanding that the LBO can be computed by differential quantities,we propose an approach for discretizing the LBO on manifolds by estimating differential quantities.For a point on the manifold,we first fit a quadratic surface to this point and its neighborhood by minimizing the least-square energy function.Then we compute the first-and second-order differential quantities by the approximated quadratic surface.Finally the discrete LBO at this point is computed from the estimated differential quantities and thus the Laplacian matrix over the discrete manifold is constructed.Our approach has several advantages:it is simple and efficient and insensitive to noise and boundaries.Experimental results have shown that our approach performs better than most of the current approaches.We also propose a feature-aware scheme for modifying the Laplacian matrix.The modified Laplacian matrix can be used in other feature preserving geometric processing applications.Ruimin Wang Zhouwang Yang Ligang Liu Qing Chen 2013Communications in Mathematics and Statistics2013,1,3:1

11Enhanced self-adaptive evolutionary algorithm for numerical optimization显示文摘There are many population-based stochastic search algorithms for solving optimization problems. However, the universality and robustness of these algorithms are still unsatisfactory. This paper proposes an enhanced self-adaptiveevolutionary algorithm (ESEA) to overcome the demerits above. In the ESEA, four evolutionary operators are designed to enhance the evolutionary structure. Besides, the ESEA employs four effective search strategies under the framework of the self-adaptive learning. Four groups of the experiments are done to find out the most suitable parameter values for the ESEA. In order to verify the performance of the proposed algorithm, 26 state-of-the-art test functions are solved by the ESEA and its competitors. 17The Unimodality of Initial B-Spline Approximations in Spline Fitting显示文摘Finding optimal knots is a challenging problem in spline fitting due to a lack of prior knowledge regarding optimal knots.The unimodality of initial B-spline approximations associated with given data is a promising characteristic of locating optimal knots and has been applied successfully.The initial B-spline approximations herein are required to approximate given data well enough and characterized by the unimodality if jumps from the highest-order derivatives of the approximations at some interior knots are local maxima.In this paper,we prove the unimodality of the initial B-spline approximations that are constructed under two assumptions:Data points are sampled uniformly and sufficiently from B-spline functions,and initial knots are chosen as the parameters of sampling points.Our work establishes the theoretical basis of the unimodality of initial B-spline approximations and pioneers the theoretical study of locating optimal knots.Zhiguo Yong Hongmei Kang Zhouwang Yang Yi Gu 2022Communications in Mathematics and Statistics2022,10,2:0
18Recovery of Sharp Features in Mesh Models显示文摘Due to the shortages of current methods for the recovery of sharp features of mesh models with holes,this paper presents two novel algorithms for the recovery of features(especially sharp features)in mesh models.One algorithm defines an energy that is regarded as the difference between the initial features and the ideal features.The optimal solution of the energy optimization problem modifies the initial features.The algorithm has good performance on sharp features.The other method establishes a plane cluster for each initial feature point to obtain a corresponding modified feature point.If necessary,we can obtain the modified feature line by fitting these modified points.Both methods depend little on the result of fillingmodel holes and result in better features,which maintain the sharp geometric characteristic and the smoothness of the model.The experimental results of the two algorithms demonstrate their superiority and rationality compared with the existing methods.Zhao Liu Maodong Pan Zhouwang Yang Jiansong Deng 2015Communications in Mathematics and Statistics2015,3,2:0
