1Optimization of phenol degradation by Candida tropicalis Z-04 using Plackett-Burman design and response surface methodology显示文摘Statistical experimental designs were used to optimize the process of phenol degradation by Candida tropicalis Z-04,isolated from phenol-degrading aerobic granules.The most important factors influencing phenol degradation (p<0.05),as identified by a two-level Plackett-Burman design with 11 variables,were yeast extract,phenol,inoculum size,and temperature.Steepest ascent method was undertaken to determine the optimal regions of these four significant factors.Central composite design (CCD) and response surface analysis were adopted to further investigate the mutual interactions between these variables and to identify their optimal values that would generate maximum phenol degradation.The analysis results indicated that interactions between yeast extract and temperature,phenol and temperature,inoculum size and temperature affected the response variable (phenol degradation) significantly.The predicted results showed that the maximum removal efficiency of phenol (99.10%) could be obtained under the optimum conditions of yeast extract 0.41 g/L,phenol 1.03 g/L,inoculum size 1.43% (V/V) and temperature 30.04°C.These predicted values were further verified by validation experiments.The excellent correlation between predicted and experimental values confirmed the validity and practicability of this statistical optimum strategy.This study indicated the excellent ability of C.tropicalis Z-04 in degrading high-strength phenol.Optimal conditions obtained in this experiment laid a solid foundation for further use of this microorganism in the treatment of highstrength phenol effluents.Jiangya Zhou Xiaojuan Yu Cong Ding Zhiping Wang Qianqian Zhou Hao Pao Weimin Ca 2011Journal of Environmental Sciences2011,23,1:48
2Post-fledging dispersal and habitat use of a reintroduced population of the Crested Ibis (Nipponia nippon)显示文摘Background: Knowledge of dispersal movement of birds and their habitat preference during the post-fledging period is fundamental to the understanding of their ecological and evolutionary processes. The Crested Ibis is now being reintroduced to protected sites within its historical range, with the goal of establishing a self-sustaining population that may eventually qualify the species for delisting.Methods: We carried out an ecological study of post-fledging dispersal and habitat use of a reintroduced population of the Crested Ibis(Nipponia nippon) from 2008 to 2012 in Ningshan County, China, by using banding and radio-telemetry methods.Results: In about two weeks(an average of 14.3 days) after fledging, the activities of the fledglings were concentrated in a range of about 100 m around their natal sites, such as the oak-pine forest patches at the edge of open habitats.During this period, fledglings were still partially dependent upon parental care and fed typically on a daily basis.Siblings increasingly became independent by mid-August and then gradually moved away from their natal sites to post-fledging dispersal locations. During the period of the post-fledging dispersal process, most juveniles moving southwest were concentrated at the mean direction(μ = 254.6°, ? = 70.5°) with a mean dispersal distance of 5.1 km.It took an average of 56.4 days to disperse from the natal territory to the first wintering area. Also, forging habitats for juvenile ibis varied with time and local conditions. For example, paddy fields were used most frequently among all habitat types, while shallow rivers just from August to October. Masson pine(Pinus massoniana) was often regarded as the roosting tree species preferred by the Crested Ibis, with the highest utilization rate among all the roosting habitat types. The juveniles of the wild population dispersed four times as far as that of the reintroduced population, but the overall pattern of post-fledging dispersal is similar for the reintroduced and wild populations.Conclusions: Our results are very useful for us to predict the distance and direction of dispersal under various landscape conditions in other released sites. 3Spatial learning and memory deficits in young adult mice exposed to a brief intense noise at postnatal age显示文摘Noise pollution is a major hazardous factor to human health and is likely harmful for vulnerable groups such as pre-term infants under lifesupport system in an intensive care unit. Previous studies have suggested that noise exposure impairs children's learning ability and cognitive performance and cognitive functions in animal models in which the effect is mainly attributed to the oxidant stress of noise on the cognitive brain. The potential role of noise induced hearing loss(NIHL), rather than the oxidant stress, has also been indicated by a depression of neurogenesis in the hippocampus long after a brief noise exposure, which produces only a tentative oxidant stress. It is not clear if noise exposure and NIHL during early development exerts a long term impact on cognitive function and neurogenesis towards adulthood. In the present study, a brief noise exposure at high sound level was performed in neonatal C57BL/6J mice(15 days after birth) to produce a significant amount of permanent hearing loss as proved 2 months after the noise. At this age, the noise-exposed animals showed deteriorated spatial learning and memory abilities and a reduction of hippocampal neurogenesis as compared with the control. The averaged hearing threshold was found to be strongly correlated with the scores for spatial learning and memory. 6AN ASSIGNMENT METHOD FOR GROUP DECISION MAKING WITH UNCERTAIN PREFERENCE ORDINALS显示文摘This paper presents an assignment method to solve the group decision making problem with uncertain preference information. The uncertain preference information is given as uncertain preference ordinals by decision makers. We first address the concept and calculation formulae of preference ordinal frequency, and then, uncertain preference ordinals are transformed into preference ordinal frequencies accordingly. Furthermore, a linear assignment model is built based on the derived preference ordinal frequencies, and the ranking of alternatives can be obtained by solving the model. 9Challenge-based collaborative intrusion detection in software-defined networking: An evaluation显示文摘Software-Defined Networking(SDN)is an emerging architecture that enables a computer network to be intelligently and centrally controlled via software applications.It can help manage the whole network environment in a consistent and holistic way,without the need of understanding the underlying network structure.At present,SDN may face many challenges like insider attacks,i.e.,the centralized control plane would be attacked by malicious underlying devices and switches.To protect the security of SDN,effective detection approaches are indispensable.In the literature,challenge-based collaborative intrusion detection networks(CIDNs)are an effective detection framework in identifying malicious nodes.It calculates the nodes'reputation and detects a malicious node by sending out a special message called a challenge.In this work,we devise a challenge-based CIDN in SDN and measure its performance against malicious internal nodes.Our results demonstrate that such a mechanism can be effective in SDN environments.Wenjuan Li Yu Wang Zhiping Jin Keping Yu Jin Li Yang Xiang 2021Digital Communications and Networks2021,7,2:2

11Preparation of enzymatically cross-linked sulfated chitosan hydrogel and its potential application in thick tissue engineering显示文摘For the requirement of preliminary vascularization,the scaffolds for thick tissue engineering should have not only good cell affinity,but also anticoagulant ability.In this paper,enzymatically cross-linked hydrogel scaffolds based on sulfated chitosan(SCTS)were prepared.Firstly,sulfated chitosan-hydroxyphenylpionic acid(SCTS-HPA)conjugate was synthesized,and the structure of SCTS-HPA was identified by FITR and1H NMR.And then the enzymatically cross-linked hydrogels were prepared in presence of horseradish peroxidase(HRP)and hydrogen peroxide(H2O2).The gelation time,mechanical property,morphology and cytotoxicity to human umbilical vein endothelial cells(HUVECs)of the hydrogel were evaluated in vitro,the tissue compatibility of SCTS-HPA scaffold was studied in vivo.The results showed that the gelation time,mechanical property,morphology of the dehydrated hydrogel could be controlled by the the concentration of HRP and H2O2.The cytotoxicity test showed that the hydrogel extracts have no cytotoxicity to HUVECs.The in vivo assay indicated that SCTS-HPA scaffold have good tissue compatibility with no thrombus formation.All these results indicated that the SCTS-HPA scaffold could be used as a thick tissue engineering scaffold.CHEN ZhiPing WANG Wei GUO Lei YU YanYan YUAN Zhi 2013Science China Chemistry2013,56,12:2
12Quantitative Precipitation Forecasting Using Multi-Model Blending with Supplemental Grid Points:Experiments and Prospects in China显示文摘Quantitative Precipitation Forecast(QPF)is a challenging issue in seamless prediction.QPF faces the following difficulties:(i)single rather than multiple model products are still used;(ii)most QPF methods require long-term training samples not easily available,and(iii)local features are insufficiently reflected.In this work,a multi-model blending(MMB)algorithm with supplemental grid points(SGPs)is experimented to overcome these shortcomings.The MMB algorithm includes three steps:(1)single-model bias-correction,(2)dynamic weight MMB,and(3)light-precipitation elimination.In step 1,quantile mapping(QM)is used and SGPs are configured to expand the sample size.The SGPs are chosen based on similarity of topography,spatial distance,and climatic characteristics of local precipitation.In step 2,the dynamic weight MMB uses the idea of ensemble forecasting:a precipitation process can be forecast if more than 40% of the models predict such a case;moreover,threat score(TS)is used to update the weights of ensemble members.Finally,in step 3,the number of false alarms of light precipitation is reduced,thus alleviating unreasonable expansion of the precipitation area caused by the blending of multiple models.Verification results show that using the MMB algorithm has effectively improved the TS and bias score(BS)for blended 6-h QPF.The rate of increase in TS for heavy rainfall(25-mm threshold)reaches 20%-40%;in particular,the improvement has reached 47.6% for forecast lead time of 24 h,compared with the ECMWF model.Meanwhile,the BS is closer to 1,which is better than any single-model forecast.In sum,the QPF using MMB with SGPs shows great potential to further improve the present operational QPF in China.Yu WANG Kan DAI Zhiping ZONG Yue SHEN Ruixia ZHAO Jian TANG Couhua LIU 2021Journal of Meteorological Research2021,35,3:2

17New Algorithm Rules Out Acute-on-chronic Liver Failure Development within 28 Days from Acute Decompensation of Cirrhosis显示文摘Background and Aims:Approximately 10%of patients with acute decompensated(AD)cirrhosis develop acute-on-chronic liver failure(ACLF)within 28 days.Such cases have high mortality and are difficult to predict.Therefore,we aimed to establish and validate an algorithm to identify these patients on hospitalization.Methods:Hospitalized patients with AD who developed ACLF within 28 days were considered pre-ACLF.Organ dysfunction was defined accord-ing to the chronic liver failure-sequential organ failure as-sessment(CLIF-SOFA)criteria,and proven bacterial infec-tion was taken to indicate immune system dysfunction.A retrospective multicenter cohort and prospective one were used to derive and to validate the potential algorithm,re-spectively.A miss rate of<5%was acceptable for the calcu-lating algorithm to rule out pre-ACLF.Results:In the deri-vation cohort(n=673),46 patients developed ACLF within 28 days.Serum total bilirubin,creatinine,international normalized ratio,and present proven bacterial infection at admission were associated with the development of ACLF.AD patients with≥2 organ dysfunctions had a higher risk for pre-ACLF patients[odds ratio=16.58195%confidence interval:(4.271-64.363),p<0.001].In the derivation co-hort,67.5%of patients(454/673)had≤1 organ dysfunction and two patients(0.4%)were pre-ACLF,with a miss rate of 4.3%(missed/total,2/46).In the validation cohort,65.9%of patients(914/1388)had≤1 organ dysfunction,and four(0.3%)of them were pre-ACLF,with a miss rate of 3.4%(missed/total,4/117).Conclusions:AD patients with≤1 organ dysfunction had a significantly lower risk of developing ACLF within 28 days of admission and could be safely ruled out with a pre-ACLF miss rate of<5%.Xiaoting Tang Hai Li Guohong Deng Xin Zheng Xianbo Wang Yan Huang Yanhang Gao Zhongji Meng Zhiping Qian Feng Liu Xiaobo Lu Yu Shi Beiling Li Wenyi Gu Xiaomei Xiang Yan Xiong Yixin Hou Jun Chen Na Gao Sen Luo Liujuan Ji Jing Li Rongjiong Zheng Haotang Ren Jinjun Chen 2023Journal of Clinical and Translational Hepatology2023,11,3:1
