1Re-activation characteristics of preserved aerobic granular sludge显示文摘In some industrial plants, wastewater was intermittently or seasonally generated. There may be periods during which wastewater treatment facilities have to be set into an idle phase over several weeks. When wastewater was generated again, the activated sludge flocs may have disintegrated. In this experiment, re-activation characteristics of aerobic granular sludge starved for 2 months were investigated. Specific oxygen utilization rate(SOUR) was used as an indicator to evaluate the metabolic activity of the sludge. The results revealed that aerobic granular sludge could be stored up to two months without running the risk of losing the integrity of the granules and metabolic potentials. The apparent color of aerobic granules stored at room temperature gradually turned from brownish-yellowish to gray brown. They appeared brownish-yellowish again 2 weeks after re-activation. The velocity and strength of granules after 2-month idle period could be fully restored about 3 weeks after re-activation. Metabolic activity, however, dropped to 15 8 mg O2/(g MLVSS·h), i.e. 74 % reduction after 2 months of storage. After restarting the reactor, it took 2 weeks that SOUR of up to 48 5 mg O2 /(g MLVSS·h) was achieved. 2Numerical study on Rayleigh-Taylor effect on cylindrically converging Richtmyer-Meshkov instability显示文摘Evolution of a two-dimensional air/SF6 single-mode interface is numerically investigated by an upwind CE/SE method under a cylindrically converging circumstance. The Rayleigh-Taylor effect caused by the flow deceleration on the phase inversion(RTPI)is highlighted. The RTPI was firstly observed in our previous experiment, but the related mechanism remains unclear. By isolating the three-dimensional effect, it is found here that the initial amplitude(a0), the azimuthal mode number(k0) and the re-shocking moment are the three major parameters which determine the RTPI occurrence. In the variable space of(k0, a0), a critical a0 for the RTPI occurrence is solved for each k0, and there exists a threshold value of k0 below which the RTPI will not occur no matter what a0 is. There exists a special k0 corresponding to the largest critical a0, and the reduction rule of critical a0 with k0 can be well described by an exponential decay function. The results show that the occurrence of the RTPI requires a small a0 which should be less than a critical value, a large k0 which should exceed a threshold, and a right impinging moment of the re-shock which should be later than the RTPI occurrence. Finally, the effects of the incident shock strength, the density ratio and the initial position of the interface on the threshold value of k0 and on the maximum critical a0 are examined. 3Plasma level and genetic variation of apolipoprotein E in patients with lipoprotein glomerulopathy显示文摘Background Lipoprotein glomerulopathy (LPG) is a renal disease characterized by thrombus-like lipoproteins in the glomerular capillaries and its abnormal lipoprotein profiles with marked elevation of apolipoprotein E (apoE). In this study, 15 Chinese patients with LPG were involed in exploring the association of the genetic variation and its plasma level in the pathogenesis of LPG.Methods A retrospective analysis of the clinical and pathological features was made in 15 patients with LPG. Plasma concentrations of apoE were measured with radial immunodiffusion assay. Genetic variations of apoE gene were detected using polymerase chain reaction and restriction fragment length polymorphism. Glomerular deposition of apoA, apoB and apoE in these patients were detected by immunofluorescence staining using monoclonal antibodies. Results Biochemical profiles of lipids and lipoproteins revealed markedly elevated levels of triglyceride, apoB and apoE, but approximately normal levels of total cholesterol, apoA1 and lipoprotein(a) [Lp(a)], which resembled familial hypertriglyceridemia. Genetic analysis demonstrated that the genotype distribution of apoE were 7 cases with (ε3/ε 4,)4 cases with ε3/ε 3 and 2 cases with ε2/ε 3. The other 2 cases (a mother and her son) showed a same distinct band. The band pattern of later 2 cases was quite similar to the apoE variant of Tokyo type. The calculated allele frequency of ε 4 was relatively high in cases with LPG in comparison with that in the normal controls. We further divided the 13 patients into three groups according to their genotypes of apoE. Patients with the genotype of apoE ε2/ε3 showed a lower level of plasma apoE as compared to those with apoE ε3/ε4 (P<0.05). The serum level of high-density lipoprotein (HDL) was the lowest in patients with the genotype of apoE ε3/ε4. No difference was found among the patients with different apoE genotype in the other clinical and pathological characteristics. Conclusions The genotype of apoE ε3/ε4 is the predominant one in Chinese patients with LPG. Patients with this genotype tend to have a higher plasma level of apoE and more severe lipid dysmetabolism. 4Investigation of model development for deterministic correlations associated with impeller-diffuser interactions in centrifugal compressors显示文摘The average-passage equation system(APES)provides a rigorous framework to account for the deterministic unsteady effects by the so-called deterministic correlations(DC),which include both deterministic stress correlations(DCS)and deterministic total enthalpy correlations(DCH).These correlations should be modeled to close the system of equations.In this paper,the distribution of DC in a transonic centrifugal compressor is presented,and its relative importance is revealed.The assumption made by Adamczyk that the pure unsteady fluctuation is significantly smaller than the spatial fluctuation is verified at the impeller-diffuser interface.The decomposition of DCH is also discussed to determine its two different physical mechanisms.Finally,the transport equations in terms of DCS in cylindrical coordinates are derived,and the terms are evaluated to determine the ones that are necessary to model.All these analyses significantly contribute to our model development for DC in centrifugal compressors.LIU BaoJie ZHANGBo LIU YangWei 2015Science China(Technological Sciences)2015,58,3:5
5DCZ0801,a novel compound,induces cell apoptosis and cell cycle arrest via MAPK pathway in multiple myeloma显示文摘Multiple myeloma(MM)is a refractory malignant hematological malignancy,and many therapeutic strategies have been developed to cure patients with MM.DCZ0801 is a compound that consists of oxophenamide and pterostilbene.The role of these compounds in hematological cancers such as MM has yet to be studied.In this study,we explored the potential mechanism of DCZ0801 action,its anti-tumor activity both in vitro and in vivo on MM.This study was carried out via cell cycle proliferation assay,apoptotic analysis,western blot analysis,and examination of xenotransplantation model of tumors.The in vitro studies revealed that DCZ0801 could inhibit cell proliferation and induce apoptosis by regulating both caspase-dependent and mitogen-activated protein kinase signaling pathways,inducing S-phase arrest of the cell cycle related to downregulation of CDK2,cyclin-A2,and CDC25A protein expression.The in vivo studies showed that DCZ0801 could significantly reduce the size of the tumors in nude mice.Our results demonstrated that DCZ0801 may emerge as the new therapeutic option for the patient with MM.Ting Zhang Bo Li Qilin Feng Zhijian Xu Cheng Huang Huiqun Wu Zhangbo Chen Liangning Hu Lu Gao Peng Liu Guang Yang Hui Zhang Kang Lu Tingye Li Yi Tao Xiaosong Wu Jumei Shi Weiliang Zhu 2019Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2019,51,5:3

7Paleogene geological framework and tectonic evolution of the central anticlinal zone in Lufeng 13 sag,Pearl River Mouth Basin显示文摘The Paleogene geological framework and evolution process in the central anticline zone in the Lufeng 13 sag in Pearl River Mouth Basin is well analyzed through seismic data and drilling data,and control of tectonic evolution on hydrocarbon accumulation is also discussed.The results show that the central anticline zone in the Lufeng 13 sag develops the upper deformation layer and lower deformation layer.The“arched graben system”is developed in the upper deformation layer,and the magmatic diapir structure and flowing deformation of plastic strata is developed in the lower deformation layer.The evolution process of the central anticline zone can be divided into four stages,i.e.fault block uplifting stage,prototype stage,strengthening stage and finalization stage.The geological framework and tectonic evolution of the central anticline zone control Paleogene hydrocarbon accumulation.The Paleogene twolayer geological framework is favorable for development of structural traps and composite traps;the paleostructure highs are the direction of hydrocarbon migration,and the gravitational gliding faults are the main carrier bed for vertical hydrocarbon migration;the tectonic uplift is a key factor for reservoir diagenesis improvement and preservation of primary pores,and also controls distribution of high-quality reservoirs.Xudong Wang Xiangtao Zhang Heming Lin Xiaoming Que Yong He Liankai Jia Zhangbo Xiao Min Li 2019Petroleum Research2019,4,3:2

9Anaerobic digestion of kitchen wastes in a single-phased anaerobic sequencing batch reactor(ASBR) with gas-phased absorb of CO_2显示文摘The performance of the single-stage anaerobic digestion of kitchen wastes was investigated in an anaerobic sequencing batch reactor(ASBR) with gas-phased absorb of CO 2. The ASBR was operated at four chemical oxygen demand(COD) loading rates, 2.8, 5.1, 6.2 and 8.4 g/(L·d) respectively. The COD loading rate was increased with the TS concentration and HRT changing. At maximum COD loading rate of 8.4 g/(L·d), the COD, total solid(TS) removal rate and methane gas yield were 69%, 68% and 2.5 L/(L·d) respectively. The operation of the reactor with gas-phased absorb of CO 2 was stable in spite of the low pH(2.6—3.9) and high concentration of TS(142 g/L) of input mixture. The output volatile fatty acid(VFA) concentration was between 2.7—4.7 g/L and had no inhibition on the methanogenic microorganism. The reactor without gas-phased absorb of CO 2 became acidified when the total COD loading rate was increased to 5.1 g/(L·d). Stoichiometry of the methanogenesis for kitchen wastes showed a considerable amount of alkaline will be required to keep pH in the appropriate range for the methanogenic microorganism based on theoretical calculation. 12Mode coupling in converging Richtmyer-Meshkov instability of dual-mode interface显示文摘The converging Richtmyer-Meshkov(RM)instability on single-and dual-mode N2/SF6 interfaces is studied by an upwind conservation element and solution element solver.An unperturbed case is first considered,and it is found that the shocked interface undergoes a long-term deceleration after a period of uniform motion.The evolution of single-mode interface at the early stage exhibits an evident nonlinearity,which can be reasonably predicted by the nonlinear model of Wang et al.(Phys Plasmas 22:082702,2015).During the deceleration stage,the perturbation amplitude drops quickly and even becomes a negative(phase inversion)before the reshock due to the Rayleigh-Taylor(RT)stabilization.After the reshock,the interface experiences a phase inversion again or does not,depending on the reshock time.The growth of the second-order harmonic in the deceleration stage clearly reveals the competition between the RT effect and the nonlinearity.For dual-mode interfaces,the growth of the first mode(wavenumber k1)relies heavily on the second mode(wavenumber k2)due to the mode coupling effect.Specifically,for cases where k2 is an even or odd multiple of k1,the growth of the first mode is inhibited or promoted depending on its initial amplitude sign and the phase difference between two basic waves,while for cases where k2 is a non-integer multiple of k1,the second mode has negligible influence on the first mode.Through a systematic study,signs of perturbation amplitudes of the generated k2−k1 and k2+k1 waves are obtained for all possible dual-mode configurations,which are reasonably predicted by a modified Haan model(Phys Fluids B 3:2349-2355,1991).Zhangbo Zhou Juchun Ding Zhigang Zhai Wan Cheng Xisheng Luo 2020Acta Mechanica Sinica2020,36,2:1

14Abundance Distribution of Slow—Process Main Heavy Elements in AGB Stars显示文摘By re-analysing the results of the theoretical abundance of asymptotic giant branch (AGB) stellar models and the observed abundances of 51 AGB samples, we find that the abundance distribution of s-process main heavy (SMH) elements of any AGB star is similar to the scaled s-process main component of the solar system. This means that superposition of the SMH element abundance distributions of AGB stars should be similar to the scaled solar s-process main component. 17Mud pumping in high‑speed railway:in‑situ soil core test and full‑scale model testing显示文摘Mud pumping induced by moving train loads on rainwater-intruded roadbed causes intensive track vibrations and threatens safety of high-speed trains.In this paper,a vehicle–track–subgrade finite element model was established to analyze the dynamic responses of a ballastless track,and results showed that the concrete base and roadbed were detached because of the whipping effect arising from the rainwater intrusion channel.An in-situ soil core test showed that the intruded rainwater accumulated in roadbed to form standing water and saturated the roadbed.The flapping action of the concrete base caused by the whipping effect led to mud formation mixed with fine particles and rainwater,which migrated upward under the pore-water pressure(PWP)gradient.Mud pumping resulted from continuous particle migration in the saturated roadbed under moving train loads:under normal roadbed condition,coarse and fine particles were uniformly distributed in the roadbed;in early period of mud pumping,fine particles migrated downward to bottom of the roadbed because of the rainwater infiltration flow;in middle stage of mud pumping,fine particles migrated upward and gathered at the roadbed surface under PWP gradient;in later period of mud pumping,fine particles were entrained and removed with the dissipation of excess PWP.Moreover,a full-scale physical model was established to reproduce mud pumping,and polyurethane injection remediation against mud pumping was validated on this physical model.The remediation method was applied to an in-situ mud pumping.The deviation of the vertical track profile reduced remarkably and remained at a low level within half a year,showing a good long-term service performance of the polyurethane remediated roadbed.Zhangbo Wan Xuecheng Bian Yunmin Chen 2022Railway Engineering Science2022,30,3:1
18A two-stage algorithm of adaptive model-based parameter estimation and its application in the fast calculation of Green’s function in multi-layer soils显示文摘A two-stage algorithm is presented to determine an analytical model-based rational function by adaptively selecting sam-pling points.At the first stage,the rational interpolation function is created by using Stoer-Bulirsch algorithm and comparing the fitted model with the different ranks.At the second stage,the fitted model is validated by comparing with the first-principle model at a set of checking points.Some checking points will be added to the sampling series determined in the first stage to improve the fitted model.The new proposed algorithm is more accurate and effective than that using Stoer-Bulirsch interpolation only due to the fact that it appends the validation approach.When a highly oscillating curve is approximated,the validation ensures the fitting precision.With the two-stage MBPE algorithm,some time-consuming electromagnetic computations can be replaced by the interpolation from the fitting functions,which can increase the computational efficiency greatly.This method is used to calculate the samplings of the Green’s functions in a multi-layer horizontal soil to demonstrate its effectiveness.The number of samples used to accurately model such Green’s functions is less than20for the typical soil parameters.The computational time can be reduced by more than two orders of magnitude compared with that using the conventional uniform sampling technology.GUOJian LEEJae-bok ZOUJun ZHANGBo HEJinliang CHANGSug-hun GUANZhicheng 2004Progress in Natural Science:Materials International2004,14,10:1
