2Chemical characteristics of haze particles in Xi'an during Chinese Spring Festival: Impact of fireworks burning显示文摘Fireworks burning releases massive fine particles and gaseous pollutants, significantly deteriorating air quality during Chinese Lunar New Year(LNY) period. To investigate the impact of the fireworks burning on the atmospheric aerosol chemistry, 1-hr time resolution of PM_(2.5) samples in Xi'an during the winter of 2016 including the LNY were collected and detected for inorganic ions, acidity and liquid water content(LWC) of the fine aerosols. PM_(2.5) during the LNY was 167 ± 87 μg/m^3, two times higher than the China National Ambient Air Quality Standard(75 μg/m^3). K^+(28 wt.% of the total ion mass) was the most abundant ion in the LNY period, followed by SO_4^(2-)(25 wt.%) and Cl-(18 wt.%). In contrast, NO_3^-(34 wt.%) was the most abundant species in the haze periods(hourly PM32-2.5> 75 μg/m), followed by SO_4(29.2 wt.%) and NH_4^+(16.3 wt.%), while SO_4^(2-)(35 wt.%) was the most abundant species in the clean periods(hourly PM_(2.5)< 75 μg/m^3), followed by NO_3^-(23.1 wt.%) and NH_4^+(11 wt.%). Being different from the acidic nature in the non-LNY periods, aerosol in the LNY period presented an alkaline nature with a pH value of 7.8 ± 1.3. LWC during the LNY period showed a robust linear correlation with K_2SO_4 and KCl, suggesting that aerosol hygroscopicity was dominated by inorganic salts derived from fireworks burning. 3Cavitation shedding dynamics around a hydrofoil simulated using a filter-based density corrected model显示文摘The unsteady turbulent cloud cavitation around a NACA66 hydrofoil was simulated using the filter-based density corrected model(FBDCM). The cloud cavitation was treated as a homogeneous liquid-vapor mixture and the effects of turbulent eddy viscosity were reduced in cavitation regions near the hydrofoil and in the wake. The numerical results(in terms of the vapor shedding structure and transient pressure pulsation due to cavitation evolution) agree well with the available experimental data, showing the validity of the FBDCM method. Furthermore, the interaction of vortex and cavitation was analyzed based on the vorticity transport equation, revealing that the cavitation evolution has a strong connection with vortex dynamics. 4Review of Chinese atmospheric science research over the past 70 years: Synoptic meteorology显示文摘Synoptic meteorology is a branch of meteorology that uses synoptic weather observations and charts for the diagnosis,study,and forecasting of weather.Weather refers to the specific state of the atmosphere near the Earth’s surface during a short period of time.The spatial distribution of meteorological elements in the atmosphere can be represented by a variety of transient weather phenomena,which are caused by weather systems of different spatial and temporal scales.Weather is closely related to people’s life,and its development and evolution have always been the focus of atmospheric scientific research and operation.The development of synoptic meteorology is closely related to the development of observation systems,dynamical theories and numerical models.In China,observation networks have been built since the early 1950 s.Up to now,a comprehensive meteorological observation systembased on ground,air and space has been established.In particular,the development of a new generation of dense radar networks,the development of the Fengyun satellite series and the implementation of a series of large field experiments have brought our understanding of weather from large-scale environment to thermal dynamics,cloud microphysical structure and evolution characteristics of meso and micro-scale weather systems.The development of observation has also promoted the development of theory,numerical model and simulation.In the early days,China mainly used foreign numerical models.Lately,China has developed numerical model systems with independent intellectual property rights.Based on the results of high-resolution numerical simulations,in-depth understanding of the initiation and evolution mechanism and predictability of weather at different scales has been obtained.Synoptic meteorology has gradually changed from an initially independent development to a multidisciplinary approach,and the interaction between weather and the change of climate and environment has become a hot and frontier topic in atmospheric science.This paper reviews the important scientific and technological achievements made in China over the past 70 years in the fields of synoptic meteorology based on the literatures in China and abroad,from six aspects respectively including atmospheric dynamics,synoptic-scale weather,typhoon and tropical weather,severe convective weather,numerical weather prediction and data assimilation,weather and climate,atmospheric physics and atmospheric environment.Zhiyong MENG Fuqing ZHANG Dehai LUO Zhemin TAN Juan FANG Jianhua SUN Xueshun SHEN Yunji ZHANG Shuguang WANG Wei HAN Kun ZHAO Lei ZHU Yongyun HU Huiwen XUE Yaping MA Lijuan ZHANG Ji NIE Ruilin ZHOU Sa LI Hongjun LIU Yuning ZHU 2019Science China Earth Sciences2019,62,12:7
5Spatiotemporal simulation and predication of heavy metal(loid) concentrations in coal chemical industrial areas with a soil environmental capacity model显示文摘Heavy metal (loid)(HM) accumulation in the soil and the HM spatiotemporal distribution have important implication for soil pollution prevention and remediation. The present study investigated the concentrations and spatiotemporal distributions of lead (Pb), mercury (Hg), cadmium (Cd), chromium (Cr) and arsenic (As) in the topsoil of a coal chemical plant in Ningxia Aulonomous region (Ningxia), China. Topsoil samples (/?= 153) were obtained using the checkerboard method, and the HM concentrations were determined. The soil residual rates of the five HMs were measured with leaching experinients and were applied in a soil environmental capacity model to predict the quarHitiHive variation of the HM concentrations. The predicted results were employed to estimate the HM spatiotemporal distribution within 2() years with the Kriging technique. The number of sampling sites, where all five HM concentratio ns exceed their corresponding background values in Ningxia, would be increased from 0 to 90% within 1() years of the plant operation. In addition, Pb and Cd were distributed along the traffic routes. Mercury and As were distributed near fuel gas emission vents. Chromium was mainly accumulated in slag dumps. 6SDS-modified Nanoporous Silver as an Efficient Electrocatalyst for Selectively Converting CO2 to CO in Aqueous Solution显示文摘Selectively electrochemical conversion of CO2 into organic fuel using renewable electricity is one of the most sought-after processes.In this paper,we report the electrochemical reduction of CO2(CO2RR)on the nanoporous Ag electrodes made of compacted Ag nanoparticles(AgNPs),which were prepared by one-step reduction in the water phase with or without the surfactant sodium dodecyl sulfate(SDS).The scanning electron microscope(SEM)characterizations show that the compacted Ag electrodes have the nanoporous morphology formed by stacking AgNPs.Compared with the nanoporous Ag electrode without SDS modification(C-AgNPs),the SDS-modified AgNPs electrode(C-AgNPs-SDS)is highly effective in improving selective CO production in a wide range of potentials(-0.69 V--1.19 V,vs.RHE),with a Faradaic efficiency of 92.2% and a current density of -8.23 mA·cm^-2 for CO production at -0.79 V(vs.RHE).C-AgNPs-SDS is also catalytically stable with only less than 7% deactivation after 8 h of continuous electrolysis.Lei Shi Yuning Zhang Xiaofei Han Dongfang Niu Jinlong Sun Jenny Y.Yang Shuozhen Hu Xinsheng Zhang 2019Chinese Journal of Chemistry2019,37,4:5
7Dynamic leakage mechanism of gas drainage borehole and engineering application显示文摘Borehole leakage not only affects the gas drainage effect but also presents considerable risk to human security. For the research on the leakage mechanism of gas drainage borehole, the rheological and visco-elastic-plastic characteristics were considered to establish the mechanical model of coal mass around borehole, which is used to analyze the leakage mechanism and deduce the dynamic leakage model. On the basis of the real coal seam conditions, the variation rules of the stress, leakage ring, and air leakage amount were analyzed through numerical simulation, and the influence factors of air leakage amount were also investigated to provide the theoretical basis for the sealing technology. Results show that the air leakage amount of borehole is inversely proportional to the increase in supporting stress and sealing length, and directly correlated with the increase in borehole radius and softening modulus. Using theoretical analysis, we design a novel active supporting sealing technology that can use grouting material to seal the fractures to reduce the leakage channels and also provide supporting stress to prevent borehole deformation. The engineering test results indicate that the average gas concentration with the novel active supporting sealing technology is increased by 162.12% than that of traditional polyurethane sealing method. 8Production and emission of phosphine gas from wetland ecosystems显示文摘Phosphine is a part of an atmospheric link of phosphorus cycle on earth, which could be an important pathway for phosphorus transport in environment.Wetland ecosystems are important locations for global biogeochemical phosphorus cycle.In this study, production and emission fluxes of free phosphine from four wetlands types in southern China were observed in different seasons.The results showed that the concentration of phosphine liberated from wetlands was at pg/m3-ng/m3 level.The emission concentrations of different wetlands followed the sequence:paddy field(51.83 ± 3.06) ng/m3 marsh(46.54 ± 20.55) ng/m3 > lake(37.05 ± 22.74) ng/m3 coastal wetland(1.71 ± 0.73) ng/m3, the positive phosphine emission flux occurred in rice paddy field(6.67 ± 5.18) ng/(m2·hr) and marsh(6.23 ± 26.9) ng/(m2·hr), while a negative phosphine flux of(-13.11 ± 35.04) ng/(m2·hr) was observed on the water-air interface of Lake Taihu, suggesting that paddy field and marsh may be important sources for phosphine gas in atmosphere, while lake may be a sink of atmospheric phosphine gas during the sampling period.Atmospheric phosphine levels and emission flux from Yancheng marsh and rice paddy field varied in different seasons and vegetational zones.Both diffusion resistance in aqueous phase and temperature were dominating factors for the production and transportation of phosphine to atmosphere.Chao Han Xueyuan Gu Jinju Geng Yuning Hong Rui Zhang Xiaorong Wang Shixiang Gao 2010Journal of Environmental Sciences2010,22,9:5
9AFF4 regulates osteogenic differentiation of human dental follicle cells显示文摘As a member of the AFF(AF4/FMR2)family,AFF4 is a transcription elongation factor that is a component of the super elongation complex.AFF4 serves as a scaffolding protein that connects transcription factors and promotes gene transcription through elongation and chromatin remodelling.Here,we investigated the effect of AFF4 on human dental follicle cells(DFCs)in osteogenic differentiation.In this study,we found that small interfering RNA-mediated depletion of AFF4 resulted in decreased alkaline phosphatase(ALP)activity and impaired mineralization.In addition,the expression of osteogenic-related genes(DLX5,SP7,RUNX2 and BGLAP)was significantly downregulated.In contrast,lentivirus-mediated overexpression of AFF4 significantly enhanced the osteogenic potential of human DFCs.Mechanistically,we found that both the mRNA and protein levels of ALKBH1,a critical regulator of epigenetics,changed in accordance with AFF4 expression levels.Overexpression of ALKBH1 in AFF4-depleted DFCs partially rescued the impairment of osteogenic differentiation.Our data indicated that AFF4 promoted the osteogenic differentiation of DFCs by upregulating the transcription of ALKBH1.Qingyue Xiao Yuning Zhang Xingying Qi Yaqian Chen Rui Sheng Ruoshi Xu Quan Yuan Chenchen Zhou 2020International Journal of Oral Science2020,12,4:4
10Extraction and back-extraction behaviors of 14 rare earth elements from sulfuric acid medium by TODGA显示文摘The unique physical and chemical properties of rare earth elements lay the foundation for their extensive application. N,N,N',N' Tetra-octyl-3-oxopentanediamide(TODGA) is excellent in its ability of extracting rare earth elements and it is favored for green initiative. In this paper, the extraction and back-extraction of14 rare earth elements by TODGA were studied. Experiments show that in conditions of 6 mol/L sulfuric acid, the extraction temperature of 25 ℃,the phase ratio of 1:1 and 0.04 mol/LTODGA(aviation kerosene as the diluent), the extraction rates of 14 rare earth elements including lanthanum, cerium, praseodymium,neodymium, europium, gadolinium, terbium, dysprosium, holmium, erbium, thulium, ytterbium, lutetium, and yttrium were 99.00%-99.73%. Mixed with hydrochloric acid and nitric acid(HCl 3.5 mol/L, HNO_30.5 mol/L), the recoveries of the 14 rare earth elements are 91.52%-99.91% when the extraction temperature is 25 ℃ and the ratio is 1:1. The following application is based on the optimum conditions above with practical samples(from the roasting production line of China North Rare Earth High-tech Company Limited) for extraction and back-extraction experiments. 11Assembly of carbon nanodots in graphene-based composite for flexible electro-thermal heater with ultrahigh efficiency显示文摘A high-efficiency electro-thermal heater requires simultaneously high electrical and thermal conductivities to generate and dissipate Joule heat efficiently.A low in put voltage is essential to en sure the heaters safe applications.However,the low voltage gen erally leads to low saturated temperature and heati ng rate and hence a low thermal efficie ncy.How to reduce the in put voltage while maintai ning a high electro-thermal efficiency is still a challenge.Herein,a highly electrical and thermal conductive film was 8nstructed using a graphene-based composite which has an internal three-dimensional(3D)conductive network.In the 3D framework,cellulose nanocrystalline(CNC)phase with chiral liquid crystal manner presents in the form of alig ned helix betwee n the graphe ne oxide(GO)layers.Carbon nano dots(CDs)are assembled泊side the composite as con ductive nano fillers.Subseque nt an neali ng and compressi on results in the formati on of the assembled GO-CNC-CDs film.The carb on ized CNC nano rods(CNR)with the helical alignment act as irrplane and through-pla ne conn ecti ons of n eighbori ng reduced GO(rGO)nano sheets,forming a con ductive network in the composite film.The CDs with ultrafast electr ons tran sfer rates provide additi onal electro ns and phonons tran sport paths for the composite.As a result,the obtai ned graphe ne?based composite film(rGO-CNR-CDs)exhibited a high thermal conductivity of 1,978.6 W m^-1·K^-1 and electrical conductivity of 2,053.4 S·cm^-1,respectively.The composite film showed an outstanding electro-thermal heating efficiency with the saturated temperature of 315℃and maximum heating rate of 44.9℃·s^-1 at a very low in put voltage of 10 V.The freestandi ng graphe ne composite film with the delicate nano structure desig n has a great pote ntial to be integrated into electro-thermal devices.Xin Meng Tianxing Chen Yao Li Siyuan Liu Hui Pan Yuning Ma Zhixin Chen Yanping Zhang Shenmin Zhu 2019Nano Research2019,12,10:3
12Single-/fused-band dual-mode mid-infrared imaging with colloidal quantum-dot triple-junctions显示文摘Image data acquired with fused multispectral information can be used for effective identification and navigation owing to additional information beyond human vision,including thermal distribution,night vision,and molecular composition.However,the construction of photodetectors with such capabilities is hindered by the structural complexity arising from the integration of multiple semiconductor junctions with distinct energy gaps and lattice constants.In this work,we develop a colloidal quantum-dot dual-mode detector capable of detecting,separating,and fusing photons from various wavelength ranges.Using three vertically stacked colloidal quantum-dot homojunctions with alternating polarity,single-band short-wave infrared imaging and fused-band imaging(short-wave and mid-wave infrared)can be achieved with the same detector by controlling bias polarity and magnitude.The dual-mode detectors show detectivity up to 8×10^(10)Jones at the fused-band mode and 3.1×10^(11)Jones at the single-band mode,respectively.Without image post-processing algorithms,the dual-mode detectors could provide both night vision and thermal information-enhanced night vision imaging capability.To the best of our knowledge,this is the first colloidal quantum-dot detector that can achieve such functionality.The operation mode can be changed at a high frequency up to 1.7 MHz,making it possible to achieve simultaneously dual-mode imaging and remote temperature sensing.SHUO ZHANG GE MU JIE CAO YUNING LUO QUN HAO MENGLU CHEN YIMEI TAN PENGFEI ZHAO XIN TANG 2022Photonics Research2022,10,8:3

14Oxymatrine Inhibits Bocavirus MVC Replication, Reduces Viral Gene Expression and Decreases Apoptosis Induced by Viral Infection显示文摘Oxymatrine(OMT), as the main active component of Sophoraflavescens, exhibits a variety of pharmacological properties,including anti-oxidative, anti-inflammatory, anti-tumor, and anti-viral activities, and currently is extensively employed to treat viral hepatitis; however, its effects on parvovirus infection have yet to be reported. In the present study, we investigated the effects of OMT on cell viability, virus DNA replication, viral gene expression, cell cycle, and apoptosis in Walter Reed canine cells/3873 D infected with minute virus of canines(MVC). OMT, at concentrations below 4 mmol/L(no cellular toxicity), was found to inhibit MVC DNA replication and reduce viral gene expression at both mRNA and protein levels, which was associated with the inhibition of cell cycle S-phase arrest in early-stage of MVC infection.Furthermore, OMT significantly increased cell viability, decreased MVC-infected cell apoptosis, and reduced the expression of activated caspase 3.
