| 2 | Entecavir vs lamivudine therapy for na?ve patients with spontaneous reactivation of hepatitis B presenting as acute-on-chronic liver failure显示文摘AIM:To investigate the short-term and long-term efficacy of entecavir versus lamivudine in patients with spontaneous reactivation of hepatitis B presenting as acute-on-chronic liver failure(ACLF).METHODS:This was a single center,prospective cohort study.Eligible,consecutive hospitalized patients received either entecavir 0.5 mg/d or lamivudine 100mg/d.All patients were given standard comprehensive internal medicine.The primary endpoint was survival rate at day 60,and secondary endpoints were reduction in hepatitis B virus(HBV)DNA and alanine aminotransferase(ALT)levels,and improvement in Child-Turcotte-Pugh(CTP)and model for end-stage liver disease(MELD)scores at day 60 and survival rate at week 52.RESULTS:One hundred and nineteen eligible subjects were recruited from 176 patients with severe acute exacerbation of chronic hepatitis B:65 were included in the entecavir group and 54 in the lamivudine group(full analysis set).No significant differences were found in patient baseline clinical parameters.At day 60,entecavir did not improve the probability of survival(P=0.066),despite resulting in faster virological suppression(P<0.001),higher rates of virological response(P<0.05)and greater reductions in the CTP and MELD scores(all P<0.05)than lamivudine.Intriguingly,at week 52,the probability of survival was higher in the entecavir group than in the lamivudine group[42/65(64.6%)vs 26/54(48.1%),respectively;P=0.038].The pretreatment MELD score(B,1.357;95%Cl:2.138-7.062;P=0.000)and virological response at day30(B,1.556;95%Cl:1.811-12.411;P=0.002),were found to be good predictors for 52-wk survival.CONCLUSION:Entecavir significantly reduced HBV DNA levels,decreased the CTP and MELD scores,and thereby improved the long-term survival rate in patients with spontaneous reactivation of hepatitis B presenting as ACLF. | Yang Zhang Xiao-Yu Hu Sen Zhong Fang Yang Tao-You Zhou Guo Chen Yan-Yan Wang Jian-Xing Luo | 2014 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2014,20,16: | 42 |

| 4 | Spatial distribution prediction and benefits assessment of green manure in the Pinggu District,Beijing,based on the CLUE-S model显示文摘Green manure use in China has declined rapidly since the 1980 s with the extensive use of chemical fertilizers.The deterioration of field environments and the demand for green agricultural products have resulted in more attention to green manure.Human intervention and policy-oriented behaviors likely have large impacts on promoting green manure planting.However,little information is available regarding on where,at what rates,and in which ways(i.e.,intercropping green manure in orchards or rotating green manure in cropland) to develop green manure and what benefits could be gained by incorporating green manure in fields at the county scale.This paper presents the conversion of land use and its effects at small region extent(CLUE-S) model,which is specifically developed for the simulation of land use changes originally,to predict spatial distribution of green manure in cropland and orchards in 2020 in Pinggu District located in Beijing,China.Four types of land use for planting or not planting green manure were classified and the future land use dynamics(mainly croplands and orchards) were considered in the prediction.Two scenarios were used to predict the spatial distribution of green manure based on data from 2011:The promotion of green manure planting in orchards(scenario 1) and the promotion of simultaneous green manure planting in orchards and croplands(scenario 2).The predictions were generally accurate based on the receiver operating characteristic(ROC) and Kappa indices,which validated the effectiveness of the CLUE-S model in the prediction.In addition,the spatial distribution of the green manure was acquired,which indicated that green manure mainly located in the orchards of the middle and southern regions of Dahuashan,the western and southern regions of Wangxinzhuang,the middle region of Shandongzhuang,the eastern region of Pinggu and the middle region of Xiagezhuang under scenario 1.Green manure planting under scenario 2 occurred in orchards in the middle region of Wangxinzhuang,and croplands in most regions of Daxingzhuang,southern Pinggu,northern Xiagezhuang and most of Mafang.The spatially explicit results allowed for the assessment of the benefits of these changes based on different economic and ecological indicators.The economic and ecological gains of scenarios 1 and 2 were 175691 900 and143000 300 CNY,respectively,which indicated that the first scenario was more beneficial for promoting the same area of green manure.These results can facilitate policies of promoting green manure and guide the extensive use of green manure in local agricultural production in suitable ways. | ZHANG Li-ping ZHANG Shi-wen ZHOU Zhi-ming HOU Sen HUANG Yuan-fang CAO Wei-dong | 2016 | Journal of Integrative Agriculture2016,15,2: | 13 |
| 5 | Genetic alterations and expression of inhibitor of growth 1 in human sporadic colorectal cancer显示文摘AIM: To explore the effect and significance of inhibitor of growth 1 (ING1) gene in carcinogenesis and progression of human sporadic colorectal cancer.METHODS: mRNA expression, mutation, and loss of heterozygosity (LOH) of ING1 gene in 35 specimens of sporadic colorectal cancer tissues and the matched normal mucous membrane tissues were detected by semi-quantitative reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR),PCR-single strain conformation polymorphism (PCR-SSCP)and PCR-simple sequence length polymorphism (PCR-SSLP)using microsatellite markers, respectively.RESULTS: The average ratios of light intensities of p33ING1b and p47ING1a mRNA expression in the cancerous tissues were significantly lower than those in normal tissues.The difference between the two mRNA splices was not significant in the matched tissues. In addition, the ratios of light intensities of p33INB1b and p47ING1a mRNA expression in the cancerous tissues of Dukes' stages C and D were significantly lower than those in cancerous tissues of Dukes'stages A and B. However, no mutation of ING1 gene was detected in all 35 cases; only 4 cases of LOH (11.4%)were found.CONCLUSION: p33ING1b and p47ING1a mRNA expressions are closely related with the carcinogenesis and progression of human sporadic colorectal cancer. No mutation of ING1gene is found, and there are only few LOH in sporadic colorectal cancers. These might not be the main reasons for the down regulation of ING1 expression. THERMO-SENSITIVE GENIC MALE STERILE GENE TMS5 WITH EST AND SSR MARKERS显示文摘With the cDNA suppression subtraction hybridization method, a spikelet-specific cDNA library was constructed that expressed at meiosis stage in rice. A total of 121 cDNA fragments were selected from the library and used as EST (expressed se-quence tags) markers to detect the polymorphism between Annong N, a normal fertile Indica rice line and Annong S-1, its spontaneous mutant with thermo-sensitive genic male sterility, using the RFLP (restriction fragment length polymorphism) technique. HN57, one of the EST probes, could detect poly-morphism between them. The results of segregation analysis with the F2 population developed from An-nong S-1 and Annong N indicate that HN57 co-seg- regates with the thermo-sensitive genic male-sterility controlled by tms5, the recessive gene in Annong S-1. This marker is located on the 31.2-cM region of the chromosome 2 of RGP (rice genome research pro-gram) genetic map. To further determine the location of tms5, 80 SSR (simple sequence repeat) markers around this region were developed, and 12 of them were polymorphic. | 9 | Association of Overlapped and Un-overlapped Comorbidities with COVID-19 Severity and Treatment Outcomes: A Retrospective Cohort Study from Nine Provinces in China显示文摘Objective Several COVID-19 patients have overlapping comorbidities. The independent role of each component contributing to the risk of COVID-19 is unknown, and how some non-cardiometabolic comorbidities affect the risk of COVID-19 remains unclear.Methods A retrospective follow-up design was adopted. A total of 1,160 laboratory-confirmed patients were enrolled from nine provinces in China. Data on comorbidities were obtained from the patients’ medical records. Multivariable logistic regression models were used to estimate the odds ratio(OR) and 95% confidence interval(95% CI) of the associations between comorbidities(cardiometabolic or non-cardiometabolic diseases), clinical severity, and treatment outcomes of COVID-19.Results Overall, 158(13.6%) patients were diagnosed with severe illness and 32(2.7%) had unfavorable outcomes. Hypertension(2.87, 1.30–6.32), type 2 diabetes(T2 DM)(3.57, 2.32–5.49),cardiovascular disease(CVD)(3.78, 1.81–7.89), fatty liver disease(7.53, 1.96–28.96), hyperlipidemia(2.15, 1.26–3.67), other lung diseases(6.00, 3.01–11.96), and electrolyte imbalance(10.40, 3.00–26.10)were independently linked to increased odds of being severely ill. T2 DM(6.07, 2.89–12.75), CVD(8.47,6.03–11.89), and electrolyte imbalance(19.44, 11.47–32.96) were also strong predictors of unfavorable outcomes. Women with comorbidities were more likely to have severe disease on admission(5.46,3.25–9.19), while men with comorbidities were more likely to have unfavorable treatment outcomes(6.58, 1.46–29.64) within two weeks.Conclusion Besides hypertension, diabetes, and CVD, fatty liver disease, hyperlipidemia, other lung diseases, and electrolyte imbalance were independent risk factors for COVID-19 severity and poor treatment outcome. | 10 | Effects of insoluble dietary fiber from wheat bran on noodle quality显示文摘Benefiting from its favorable effects in promoting intestinal peristalsis,increasing satiety and reducing postprandial blood sugar,wheat bran insoluble dietary fiber(IDF)could be added to noodles to improve the nutrition value of noodle products.However,the addition of IDF usually results in an adverse effect on the quality characteristics of fiber fortified products,leading to unfavorable texture and consumption drop.It was found that IDF could weaken dough characteristics,thereby causing the quality deterioration of noodles,but the mechanism is unclear as yet.This study aimed to investigate the effects of different amounts of IDF on the texture quality and cooking quality of noodles.The water distribution,rheological properties,pasting properties and cooking properties of the noodles were determined by low-field nuclear magnetic resonance(LF-NMR),dynamic rheometer,and rapid visco-analyzer.The results of the LF-NMR showed that the increased IDF in the noodles resulted in a contraction of relaxation time and an increase in the proportion of loosely bound water.At a high amount of IDF,the water absorption and tensile distance of the noodles significantly decreased and the cooking loss rate increased,with a downward trend in peak viscosity,final viscosity and setback values.Moreover,IDF could improve the storage modulus and loss modulus of sheeted dough and enhance the texture of noodles.Furthermore,the correlations between IDF addition amounts and rheological properties as well as cooking properties were analyzed,and the results confirmed that noodles with the IDF amount of 2%–4%had higher nutrition and quality.This study provides the basis for future development and improvement of IDF-enriched health foods. | Mengxu Lei Jihong Huang Xiaoling Tian Peng Zhou Qi Zhu Limin Li Li Li Sen Ma Xiaoxi Wang | 2021 | Grain & Oil Science and Technology2021,4,1: | 8 |
| 11 | Increased Chondrocyte Apoptosis in Kashin-Beck Disease and Rats Induced by T-2 Toxin and Selenium Deficiency显示文摘Objective To investigate chondrocyte apoptosis and the expression of biochemical markers associated with apoptosis in Kashin-Beck disease(KBD) and in an established T-2 toxin-and selenium(Se) deficiency-induced rat model. Methods Cartilages were collected from the hand phalanges of five patients with KBD and five healthy children. Sprague-Dawley rats were administered a selenium-deficient diet for 4 weeks prior to T-2 toxin exposure. The apoptotic chondrocytes were observed by terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase d UTP nick end labeling staining. Caspase-3, p53, Bcl-2, and Bax proteins in the cartilages were visualized by immunohistochemistry, their protein levels were determined by Western blotting, and m RNA levels were determined by real-time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction. Results Increased chondrocyte apoptosis was observed in the cartilages of children with KBD. Increased apoptotic and caspase-3-stained cells were observed in the cartilages of rats fed with normal and Se-deficient diets plus T-2 toxin exposure compared to those in rats fed with normal and Se-deficient diets. Caspase-3, p53, and Bax proteins and m RNA levels were higher, whereas Bcl-2 levels were lower in rats fed with normal or Se-deficiency diets supplemented with T-2 toxin than the corresponding levels in rats fed with normal diet. | 14 | Characteristics of volatile compounds removal in biogas slurry of pig manure by ozone oxidation and organic solvents extraction显示文摘Biogas slurry is not suitable for liquid fertilizer due to its high amounts of volatile materials being of complicated composition and peculiar smell. In order to remove volatiles from biogas slurry efficiently, the dynamic headspace and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry were used to clear the composition of volatiles. Nitrogen stripping and superfluous ozone were also used to remove volatiles from biogas slurry. The results showed that there were 21 kinds of volatile compounds in the biogas slurry, including sulfur compounds, organic amines, benzene, halogen generation of hydrocarbons and alkanes, some of which had strong peculiar smell. The volatile compounds in biogas slurry can be removed with the rate of 53.0% by nitrogen stripping and with rate of 81.7% by the oxidization and stripping of the superfluous ozone. On this basis, the removal rate of the volatile compounds reached 99.2% by chloroform and n-hexane extraction, and almost all of odor was eliminated. | 16 | Impulse feature extraction method for machinery fault detection using fusion sparse coding and online dictionary learning显示文摘Impulse components in vibration signals are important fault features of complex machines. Sparse coding(SC) algorithm has been introduced as an impulse feature extraction method, but it could not guarantee a satisfactory performance in processing vibration signals with heavy background noises. In this paper, a method based on fusion sparse coding(FSC) and online dictionary learning is proposed to extract impulses efficiently. Firstly, fusion scheme of different sparse coding algorithms is presented to ensure higher reconstruction accuracy. Then, an improved online dictionary learning method using FSC scheme is established to obtain redundant dictionary and it can capture specific features of training samples and reconstruct the sparse approximation of vibration signals. Simulation shows that this method has a good performance in solving sparse coefficients and training redundant dictionary compared with other methods. Lastly, the proposed method is further applied to processing aircraft engine rotor vibration signals. | 17 | Scalable fabrication of printed Zn//MnO2 planar micro-batteries with high volumetric energy density and exceptional safety显示文摘The rapid development of printed and microscale electronics imminently requires compatible micro-batteries(MBs)with high performance,applicable scalability,and exceptional safety,but faces great challenges from the ever-reported stacked geometry.Herein the first printed planar prototype of aqueous-based,high-safety Zn//MnO2 MBs,with outstanding performance,aesthetic diversity,flexibility and modularization,is demonstrated,based on interdigital patterns of Zn ink as anode and MnO2 ink as cathode,with high-conducting graphene ink as a metal-free current collector,fabricated by an industrially scalable screen-printing technique.The planar separator-free Zn//MnO2 MBs,tested in neutral aqueous electrolyte,deliver a high volumetric capacity of 19.3 mAh/cm^3(corresponding to 393 mAh/g)at 7.5 mA/cm^3,and notable volumetric energy density of 17.3 mWh/cm^3,outperforming lithium thin-film batteries(≤10 mWh/cm^3).Furthermore,our Zn//MnO2 MBs present long-term cyclability having a high capacity retention of 83.9%after 1300 cycles at 5 C,which is superior to stacked Zn//MnO2 batteries previously reported.Also,Zn//MnO2 planar MBs exhibit exceptional flexibility without observable capacity decay under serious deformation,and remarkably serial and parallel integration of constructing bipolar cells with high voltage and capacity output.Therefore,low-cost,environmentally benign Zn//MnO2 MBs with in-plane geometry possess huge potential as high-energy,safe,scalable and flexible microscale power sources for direction integration with printed electronics. | Xiao Wang Shuanghao Zheng Feng Zhou Jieqiong Qin Xiaoyu Shi Sen Wang Chenglin Sun Xinhe Bao Zhong-Shuai Wu | 2020 | National Science Review2020,7,1: | 5 |
| 18 | Research progress on construction and energy storage performance of MXene heterostructures显示文摘MXenes are a family of two-dimensional (2D) transition metal carbides, carbonitrides/nitrides with superior physical and chemical properties, which have attracted extensive attention since the discovery in 2011. The impressive electrochemical activity of MXene makes it one of the most potential electrode materials in rechargeable batteries and supercapacitors. However, single-component MXene electrodes are difficult to achieve high specific capacity, efficient ion/electron transport, and high stability compatibility in an electrochemical environment. Studies have shown that it is an effective method to introduce nanomaterials between MXene layers to construct heterostructures and to improve the electrochemical performance through the synergistic effect among the components in the heterostructures. The introduction of nanomaterials can effectively suppress the restacking of MXene nanosheets, shorten the diffusion path of ions and promote the electrolyte transport, which is beneficial to enhance the rate performance of MXene;moreover, the excellent mechanical flexibility of MXene can reduce the volume expansion of nanomaterials during charge/discharge, thereby effectively protecting the integrity of the electrode structure and improving the cycling stability. Therefore, in this review, combined with theoretical calculations, we summarize the recent advances of MXene heterostructures in terms of synthesis strategies and energy storage applications, including supercapacitors, metal-ions batteries (Li, Na, K, Mg, Zn, Al) and metal anode protection. | 20 | A novel approach for designing efficient broadband photodetectors expanding from deep ultraviolet to near infrared显示文摘Broadband photodetection(PD)covering the deep ultraviolet to near-infrared(200–1000 nm)range is significant and desirable for various optoelectronic designs.Herein,we employ ultraviolet(UV)luminescent concentrators(LC),iodinebased perovskite quantum dots(PQDs),and organic bulk heterojunction(BHJ)as the UV,visible,and near-infrared(NIR)photosensitive layers,respectively,to construct a broadband heterojunction PD.Firstly,experimental and theoretical results reveal that optoelectronic properties and stability of CsPbI3 PQDs are significantly improved through Er3+doping,owing to the reduced defect density,improved charge mobility,increased formation energy,tolerance factor,etc.The narrow bandgap of CsPbI3:Er3+PQDs serves as a visible photosensitive layer of PD.Secondly,considering the matchable energy bandgap,the BHJ(BTP-4Cl:PBDB-TF)is selected as to NIR absorption layer to fabricate the hybrid structure with CsPbI3:Er3+PQDs.Thirdly,UV LC converts the UV light(200–400 nm)to visible light(400–700 nm),which is further absorbed by CsPbI3:Er3+PQDs.In contrast with other perovskites PDs and commercial Si PDs,our PD presents a relatively wide response range and high detectivity especially in UV and NIR regions(two orders of magnitude increase that of commercial Si PDs).Furthermore,the PD also demonstrates significantly enhanced air-and UV-stability,and the photocurrent of the device maintains 81.5%of the original one after 5000 cycles.This work highlights a new attempt for designing broadband PDs,which has application potential in optoelectronic devices. | Nan Ding Yanjie Wu Wen Xu Jiekai Lyu Yue Wang Lu Zi Long Shao Rui Sun Nan Wang Sen Liu Donglei Zhou Xue Bai Ji Zhou Hongwei Song | 2022 | Light(Science & Applications)2022,11,5: | 5 |
