| 2 | Inactivation of infectious bursal disease virus by binary ethylenimine and formalin显示文摘In this experiment conducted to study the inactivation dynamics of infectious bursal disease virus (IBDV) by binary ethylenimine (BEI) in comparison with formalin, IBDV was isolated from the bursa of infected chickens and its confirmation was done by agar gel precipitation test. Viral suspensions were subjected to inactivation with BEI and formalin for pre-set time in-tervals. BEI was employed at concentrations of 0.001 and 0.002 mol/L while formalin was used at 0.1% and 0.2%. Sampling was done at 6, 12, 24, 36 and 48 h of incubation and samples were tested for their inactivation status in 9-day-old embryonated eggs and 3-week-old broiler chickens. IBDV was completely inactivated by 0.001 and 0.002 mol/L BEI after 36 h of incubation at 37 °C, whereas formalin at 0.1% and 0.2% concentrations inactivated IBDV in 24 h. | HABIB M. HUSSAIN I. | 3 | STRUCTURE AND MAGNETIC PROPERTIES OF YFe_(12-x)Ti_x COMPOUNDS显示文摘Structure and magnetic properties of the YFe12-x Tix compounds with x=0.85, 1.00, 1.10, 1.20 and 1.30 have been investigated. Both the thermomagnetic analysis and X-ray diffraction patterns show that all compounds Btudied are almost single phase and crystallize in the ThMn12-type of structure. The lattice parameters a, c and unit cell volume V increase monotonously with increasing Ti content. Curie temperature Tc is almost independent on Ti content while the spontaneous magnetization Mo, the anisotropy field B. and the anisotropy constant K1 decrease monotonously with increasing Ti content and increasing temperature from1.5K to 293K. | B. | 9 | GRAIN REFINEMENT IN BULK HYPERCOOLED Ni_(50)Cu_(50) ALLOY显示文摘Undereooling eoperiments on binary Ni50 Cu50 alloy melts were conducted. The hypercooling limit of this alloy, which is about 310K, was evaluated by mcasuring plateau time needed for the interkendritic liquid solidification and extmpolating this function to zero. This limit was exceeded first in the binary alloy undereooled by about 320K.The effect of liquid undercooling on the respective microstructure evolution was studied by optical metallogrnphy. The hypercooled microstructure contains rcsidual fragments within grain boundaries and is quite different from those obtained at undercoolings below 310K. The finding indicated the existence of dendrite break up. The dendrite break up may be induced either by remelting or by stress. By considering hyperrooling conditions and comparing two grain ndnement microstructures observed at small and larpe undereoolings, the forms of dendrite break up and the grain refinement mechanism exceeding the hypereooling limit are further discussed. | G.S.
