| 1 | Effects of Water-table Depth and Soil Moisture on Plant Biomass, Diversity, and Distribution at a Seasonally Flooded Wetland of Poyang Lake, China显示文摘Hydrological regime has been widely recognized as one of the major forces determining vegetation distribution in seasonally flooded wetland. Poyang Lake, the largest freshwater lake in China, has been encountering dramatic changes in hydrological conditions in last decade, which greatly influenced the wetland vegetations. To explore the relationships between hydrology and vegetation distribution, water-table depth, soil moisture, species composition, diversity and biomass were measured at a seasonally flooded wetland section at Wucheng National Nature Reserve. Three plant communities, Artemisia capillaris, Phragmites australis and Carex cinerascens communities, were examined which are zonally distributed from upland to lakeshore with decreasing elevation. Canonical correspondence analysis(CCA), spearmen correlation and logistic regression were adopted to analyze the relationships between vegetation characteristics and hydrological variables of water-table depth and soil moisture. Results show that significant hydrological gradient exist along the wetland transect. Water-table demonstrates a seasonal variation and is consistently deepest in A. capillaris community(ranging from –0.5 m above ground to +10.3 m below ground), intermediate in P. australis community(–2.6 m to +7.8 m) and shallowest in C. cinerascens community(–4.5 m to +6.1 m). Soil moisture is lowest and most variable in A. capillaris community, highest and least variable in P. australis community, and intermediate and moderate variable in C. cinerascens community. The CCA ordination indicated that variables of water-table depth and soil moisture are strongly related to community distribution, which explained 81.7% of the vegetation variations. Species diversity indices are significantly positively correlated with soil moisture and negatively correlated with moisture variability, while above- and belowground biomass are positively correlated with moisture. Above- and belowground biomass present Gaussian models along the gradient of average water-table depth in growing season, while species diversity indices show bimodal patterns. The optimal average water-table depths for above- and belowground biomass are 0.8 m and 0.5 m, respectively, and are 2.2 m and 2.4 m for species richness and Shannon-Wiener indices, respectively. | 8 | Change of Annual Extreme Water Levels and Correlation with River Discharges in the Middle-lower Yangtze River: Characteristics and Possible Affecting Factors显示文摘As one of the fastest developing regions in China, the middle-lower Yangtze River(MLYR) is vulnerable to floods and droughts. With obtained time series of annual highest water level(HWL), annual lowest water level(LWL) and the corresponding river discharges from three gauging stations in MLYR that covering the period 1987–2011, the current study evaluated the change characteristics of annual extreme water levels and the correlation with river discharges by using the methods of trend test, Mann-Whitney-Pettitt(MWP) test and double mass analysis. Major result indicated a decreasing/increasing trend for annual HWL/LWL of all stations in MLYR during the study period. A change point in 1999 was identified for annual HWL at the Hankou and Datong stations. The year 2006 was found to be the critical year that the relationship between annual extreme water levels and river discharges changed in the MLYR. With contrast to annual LWL in MLYR, further investigation revealed that the change characteristics of annual HWL were highly consistent with regional precipitation in the Yangtze River Basin, while the linkage with Three Gorges Dam(TGD) operation is not strong. Our observation also pointed out that the effect of serious down cutting of the riverbed and the enlargement of the cross-section area during the initial period of TGD operation caused the downward trend of the relationship between annual LWL and river discharge. | 10 | Quantized Hybrid Precoding Design for Millimeter-Wave Large-Scale MIMO Systems显示文摘Millimeter wave(mmWave) and large-scale multiple input multiple output(MIMO) are two emerging technologies in fifth-generation wireless communication systems. The power consumption and hardware cost of radio frequency(RF) chains increase exponentially with the bit resolution of analog-to-digital converters(ADCs) and digital-to-analog converters(DACs). One promising solution is to employ few RF chains with low-bit ADCs and DACs. In this paper, we consider mmWave large-scale MIMO systems with low bits DACs and ADCs. Leveraging on the Bussgang theorem and the additive quantization noise model(AQNM), a closed-form expression of the achievable rate is derived to show the effect of the ADCs? and DACs? resolution. Moreover, an orthogonal matching pursuit(OMP) based hybrid precoding algorithm is proposed to increase the achievable rate. Our results show that the impact of DACs is more pronounced than the impact of ADCs. Scanning electron microscopy(SEM), transmission electron microscopy(TEM), specific surface area analysis and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS) analyses were carried out to characterize the morphology and surface properties of MMTNS@CS-HMPHS. Benefitting from the unique lamellar structure of MMTNS, mesoporous channels are formed on the shell of MMTNS@CS hollow spheres, resulting in high surface area. | 12 | Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of Mg–3Al–Zn Magnesium Alloy Sheet by Hot Shear Spinning显示文摘Hot shear spinning experiments with Mg–3.0 Al–1.0 Zn–0.5 Mn(AZ31 B, wt%) magnesium alloy sheets were conducted at various temperatures, spindle speeds and feed ratios to investigate the effects of these processing parameters on the microstructure, crystallographic texture and mechanical properties. The AZ31 B sheet displayed good shear formability at temperatures from 473 to 673 K, spindle speeds from 300 to 600 rev/min and feed ratios from 0.1 to 0.5 mm/rev. During the dynamic recrystallization process, the grain size and texture were affected by the deformation temperature of the hot shear spinning process. Each of the spun sheets presented a strong basal texture, and the c-axis of most of the grains was parallel to the normal direction. The optimal hot shear spinning parameters were determined to be a temperature of 473 K, a spindle speed of 300 rev/min and a feed ratio of 0.1 mm/rev. The yield strength, ultimate tensile strength and elongation in the rolled direction reached 221 MPa, 288 MPa and 14.1%, and those in the transverse direction reached 205 MPa, 280 MPa and 12.4%, respectively. | 13 | Deformation tests and failure process analysis of an anchorage structure显示文摘In order to study the failure process of an anchorage structure and the evolution law of the body’s deformation field,anchor push-out tests were carried out based on digital speckle correlation methods(DSCM).The stress distribution of the anchorage interface was investigated using the particle flow numerical simulation method.The results indicate that there are three stages in the deformation and failure process of an anchorage structure:elastic bonding stage,a de-bonding stage and a failure stage.The stress distribution in the interface controls the stability of the structure.In the elastic bonding stage,the shear stress peak point of the interface is close to the loading end,and the displacement field gradually develops into a‘‘V’’shape.In the de-bonding stage,there is a shear stress plateau in the center of the anchorage section,and shear strain localization begins to form in the deformation field.In the failure stage,the bonding of the interface fails rapidly and the shear stress peak point moves to the anchorage free end.The anchorage structure moves integrally along the macro-crack.The de-bonding stage is a research focus in the deformation and failure process of an anchorage structure,and plays an important guiding role in roadway support design and prediction of the stability of the surrounding rock. | Zhao Tongbin Yin Yanchun Tan Yunliang Song Yimin | 2015 | International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2015,25,2: | 4 |

The pre-noon cusp/cleft is the predominant region of upflowing occurrence for O+ with lower energy. Meanwhile the pre-dawn sector near the equatorward edge of the plasma convection dominates the occurrence for the higher energy O+ ions. No matter whether the energy is lower or higher, the upflows occur often over a wide MLT range of lower latitudes outside the auroral oval. The upflowing within the pre-midnight (21:00― 22:00 MLT) auroral oval carrys larger energy fluxes, with extremely large fluxes for higher energy O+ appearing near the polar cap boundary. PC12 cells, rat chromaffin tumor cells, were provided by Storage Center of Wuhan University; phycocyanin was provided by Ocean Institute of Academia Sinica; Thiazoyl blue tetrazolium bromide (MTT) and rhodamine 123 were purchased from Sigma Company, USA; RPMI-1640 medium, fetal bovine serum and equine serum were purchased from Gibco Company, USA. METHODS: ① Culture of PC12 cells: PC12 cells were put into RPMI-1640 medium which contained 100 g/L heat inactivation equine serum and 0.05 volume fraction of fetal bovine serum and incubated in CO2 incubator at 37 ℃. Number of cells was regulated to 4 × 105 L-1, and cells were inoculated at 96-well culture plate. The final volume was 100 μL. ② Model establishing and grouping: Cultured PC12 cells were randomly divided into three groups: phycocyanin group, model control group and non-hypoxia group. At 24 hours before hypoxia, culture solution in phycocyanin group was added with phycocyanin so as to make sure the final concentration of 3 g/L , but cells in model control group did not add with phycocyanin. Cells in non-hypoxia group were also randomly divided into adding phycocyanin group (the final concentration of 3 g/L) and non-adding phycocyanin group. Cells in model control group and phycocyanin group were cultured with hypoxia for 1 hour and reoxygenation for 1, 2 and 3 hours; meanwhile, cells in non-hypoxia group were cultured with oxygen and were measured at 1 hour after hypoxia/reoxygenation. ③ Detecting items: At 1, 2 and 3 hours after reoxygenation, absorbance (A value) of PC12 cells was measured with MTT technique so as to observe activity and quantity of cells. Fluorescence intensity of PC12 cells marked by rhodamine 123 was measured with confocal microscope in order to observe changes of mitochondrial membrane potential. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Comparisons between quantity and activity of PC12 cells and mitochondrial membrane potential at 1, 2 and 3 hours after reoxygenation. RESULTS: ① Effect of phycocyanin on quantity and activity of PC12 cells: A value was 0.924±0.027 in adding phycocyanin group and 0.924±0.033 in non-adding phycocyanin group. A value was lower in model control group and phycocyanin group than that in non-hypoxia group at 1, 2 and 3 hours after reoxygenation (0.817±0.053, 0.838±0.037, 0.875±0.029; 0.842±0.029, 0.872±0.025, 0.906±0.023, P < 0.05). A value was higher in phycocyanin group than that in model control group at 1, 2 and 3 after culture (P < 0.05). With culture time being longer, A value was increased gradually in phycocyanin group and model control group after reoxygenation (P < 0.05). ② Effect of phycocyanin on mitochondrial membrane potential of PC12 cells: Fluorescence intensity was 2.967±0.253 in adding phycocyanin group and 2.962±0.294 in non-adding phycocyanin group. Fluorescence intensity was lower in model control group and phycocyanin group than that in non-hypoxia group at 1, 2 and 3 hours after hypoxia/reoxygenation (1.899±0.397, 2.119±0.414, 2.287±0.402; 2.191±0.377, 2.264±0.359, 2.436±0.471, P < 0.05); but it was higher in phycocyanin group than that in model control group at 1, 2 and 3 after reoxygenation (P < 0.05). With culture time being longer, fluorescence intensity was increased gradually in phycocyanin group and model control group after reoxygenation (P < 0.05). CONCLUSION: Phycocyanin and reoxygenation can protect PC12 cells after hypoxia injury through increasing mitochondrial membrane potential and cellular activity, and the effect is improved gradually with prolonging time of reoxygenation. | Nan Jiang Yunliang Guo Hongbing Chen | 2006 | Neural Regeneration Research2006,1,2: | 3 |
