1An alternating direction method of multipliers for elliptic equation constrained optimization problem显示文摘We propose an alternating direction method of multipliers(ADMM)for solving the state constrained optimization problems governed by elliptic equations.The unconstrained as well as box-constrained cases of the Dirichlet boundary control,Robin boundary control,and right-hand side control problems are considered here.These continuous optimization problems are transformed into discrete optimization problems by the finite element method discretization,then are solved by ADMM.The ADMM is an efficient first order algorithm with global convergence,which combines the decomposability of dual ascent with the superior convergence properties of the method of multipliers.We shall present exhaustive convergence analysis of ADMM for these different type optimization problems.The numerical experiments are performed to verify the efficiency of the method.ZHANGKai LI JingShi SONG YongCun WANG XiaoShen 2017Science China Mathematics2017,60,2:4
2Achieving a stable COF with the combination of“flat”and“twist”large-size rigid synthons for selective gas adsorption and separation显示文摘A new type of covalent organic framework(COF)was achieved using combination of structrally rigid and conformationally othorganal building blocks.The N-2-aryl-substituted triazole derivative(NAT-CHO)was prepared with co-planar conformation among the three aromatic rings as the“flat”building block.The 4,4,4,4-(ethene-1,1,2,2-tetrayl)tetraaniline)(ETTA)was applied as the“twist”building block.A 2 D sheet of network was obtained through imine formation.The resulting NAT-COF gave excellent thermal and chemical stability,survived aqueous solutions from p H 5 to 13.With large-size building blocks,the porous framework NAT-COF gave efficient gas adsorption with excellent selectivity of C3 propane over C1 me-thane,suggesting its potential application for selective gas capture and separation.Jingyang Li Ying He Yongcun Zou Yan Yan Zhiguang Song Xiaodong Shi 2022Chinese Chemical Letters2022,33,6:1
3Application of the Alternating Direction Method of Multipliers to Control Constrained Parabolic Optimal Control Problems and Beyond显示文摘Control constrained parabolic optimal control problems are generally challenging,from either theoretical analysis or algorithmic design perspectives.Conceptually,the well-known alternating direction method of multipliers(ADMM)can be directly applied to such problems.An attractive advantage of this direct ADMM application is that the control constraints can be untied from the parabolic optimal control problem and thus can be treated individually in the iterations.At each iteration of the ADMM,the main computation is for solving an unconstrained parabolic optimal control subproblem.Because of its inevitably high dimensionality after space-time discretization,the parabolicoptimal control subproblem at each iteration can be solved only inexactly by implementing certain numerical scheme internally and thus a two-layer nested iterative algorithm is required.It then becomes important to find an easily implementable and efficient inexactness criterion to perform the internal iterations,and to prove the overall convergence rigorously for the resulting two-layer nested iterative algorithm.To implement the ADMM efficiently,we propose an inexactness criterion that is independent of the mesh size of the involved discretization,and that can be performed automatically with no need to set empirically perceived constant accuracy a priori.The inexactness criterion turns out to allow us to solve the resulting parabolic optimal control subproblems to medium or even low accuracy and thus save computation significantly,yet convergence of the overall two-layer nested iterative algorithm can be still guaranteed rigorously.Efficiency of this ADMM implementation is promisingly validated by some numerical results.Our methodology can also be extended to a range of optimal control problems modeled by other linear PDEs such as elliptic equations,hyperbolic equations,convection-diffusion equations,and fractional parabolic equations.Roland Glowinski Yongcun Song Xiaoming Yuan Hangrui Yue 2022Annals of Applied Mathematics2022,38,2:0
