1Long-and short-chain AHLs affect AOA and AOB microbial community composition and ammonia oxidation rate in activated sludge显示文摘Quorum sensing(QS)regulation of the composition of ammonia-oxidising archaea(AOA)and ammonia-oxidising bacteria(AOB)communities and functions in wastewater treatment was investigated.Specifically,we explored the role of N-acyl-L-homoserine lactones(AHLs)in microbial community dynamics in activated sludge.On average,the specific ammoniaoxidising-rate increased from 1.6 to 2.8 mg NH_4^+-N/g MLSS/hr after treatment with long-chain AHLs for 16 days,and the addition of AHLs to sludge resulted in an increased number of AOA/AOB amoA genes.Significant differences were observed in the AOA communities of control and AHL-treated cultures,but not the AOB community.Furthermore,the dominant functional AOA strains of the Crenarchaeota altered their ecological niche in response to AHL addition.These results provide evidence that AHLs play an important role in mediating AOA/AOB microbial community parameters and demonstrate the potential for application of QS to the regulation of nitrogen compound metabolism in wastewater treatment.Jie Gao Yu Duan Ying Liu Xuliang Zhuang Yichen Liu Zhihui Bai Wenlin Ma Guoqiang Zhuang 2019Journal of Environmental Sciences2019,31,4:11
2Fabrication of highly efficient Bi2WO6/CuS composite for visible-light photocatalytic removal of organic pollutants and Cr(VI)from wastewater显示文摘A visible-light-driven Bi_(2)WO_(6)/CuS p-n heterojunction was fabricated using an easy solvothermal method.The Bi_(2)WO_(6)/CuS exhibited high photocatalytic activity in a mixed system containing rhodamine B(RhB),tetracycline hydrochloride(TCH),and Cr(VI)under natural conditions.Approximately 98.8%of the RhB(10 mg/L),87.6%of the TCH(10 mg/L)and 95.1%of the Cr(VI)(15 mg/L)were simultaneously removed from a mixed solution within 105 min.The removal efficiencies of TCH and Cr(VI)increased by 12.9%and 20.4%,respectively,in the mixed solution,compared with the single solutions.This is mainly ascribed to the simultaneous consumption electrons and holes,which increases the amount of excited electrons/holes and enhances the separation efficiency of photogenerated electrons and holes.Bi_(2)WO_(6)/CuS can be applied over a wide pH range(2–6)with strong photocatalytic activity for RhB,TCH and Cr(VI).Coexisiting dissolved organic matter in the solution significantly promoted the removal of TCH(from 74.7%to 87.2%)and Cr(VI)(from 75.7%to 99.9%)because it accelerated the separation of electrons and holes by consuming holes as an electron acceptor.Removal mechanisms of RhB,TCH,and Cr(VI)were proposed,Bi_(2)WO_(6)/CuS was formed into a p-n heterojunction to efficiently separate and transfer photoelectrons and holes so as to drive photocatalytic reactions.Specifically,when reducing pollutants(e.g.,TCH)and oxidizing pollutants(e.g.,Cr(VI))coexist in wastewater,the p-n heterojunction in Bi_(2)WO_(6)/CuS acts as a“bridge”to shorten the electron transport and thus simultaneously increase the removal efficiencies of both types of pollutants.Wei Mao Lixun Zhang Tianye Wang Yichen Bai Yuntao Guan 2021Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2021,15,4:1
3The impact of posterior corneal astigmatism on the surgical planning of toric multifocal intraocular lens implantation显示文摘Purpose:To investigate the influence of posterior corneal astigmatism on the prediction accuracy of toric multi­focal intraocular lens(IOL)calculation.Methods:The keratometric astigmatism measured by Lenstar LS 900(KCA_(L)),keratometric astigmatism(KCAp)and total corneal astigmatism(TCA)measured by Scheimpflug camera(Pentacam HR)were documented and analyzed accordingly.Three deduction models using different parameters were compared.Model 1:KCA_(L)+keratometric comeal surgically induced astigmatism(KCSIA,0.30 D@50°);Model 2:KCA_(P)+KCSIA);Model 3:TCA 4-total CSIA(TCSIA,0.23 D@50°).The prediction errors of each model as the difference vector between the actual and the intended residual astigmatism were compared.Results:Seventy-six eyes implanted with toric multifocal IOLs were included in this study.The vector differences of the actual KCSIA and TCSIA were statistically significant in the total sample and against-the-rule(ATR)sub­group(both P<0.05).Model 1 deduced the smallest mean values of prediction error,while that of Model 3 were smaller than that of Model 2,both in the total sample and the ATR subgroups(all P<0.05).Meanwhile,in the total sample and ATR subgroups,the centroid vector magnitudes of Model 3 were smaller than that of Model 1(0.31±0.76 D and 0.39±0.76 D).Conclusions:The calculation of toric multifocal IOL should be individualized especially in the ATR eyes for the impact of PCA on the estimation of the preoperative comeal astigmatism and the CSIA.Shaochong Bu Yuanfeng Jiang Yichen Gao Xiaomei Bai Xiteng Chen Hong Zhang Fang Tian 2023Advances in Ophthalmology Practice and Research2023,3,1:0
