1Selective adsorption of phosphate in water using lanthanum-based nanomaterials:A critical review显示文摘In recent years,lanthanum-based nanomaterials(La-NMs)are selected as an efficient nano-adsorbent for phosphate removal because La3+has a strong affinity with oxygen-donor atoms from phosphate.Additionally,there are a broad interest and literature base for the effect of different synthesis optimization and environmental parameters on the adsorption performance of La-NMs.A considerable amount of research has also investigated the regeneration and application of La-NMs to real wastewater in a laboratory scale.Based on the literature survey,it was found that La-NMs are often produced via co-precipitation and hydrothermal methods.Moreover,phosphate’s adsorption process and behavior onto La-NMs are described well with the pseudo-second-order model and Langmuir model.The interaction mechanism between phosphate and La-NMs are dominated by ligand exchange,surface complexation and electrostatic attraction.Furthermore,phosphate could easily desorb from La-NMs due to the weak H-bonding interaction between phosphate and the H-bond acceptor groups on the surface of La-NMs.Despite the wealth of literature available in this area,there is a lack of systematic review to evaluate the gaps in the use of La-NMs to eliminate phosphate in water.In this review,we mainly summarize and discuss the role and the effect of the synthesis techniques on the physicochemical properties and the adsorption behavior of La-NMs.The possible adsorption mechanism,regeneration efficiency,and the application of La-NMs to the real environmental samples are also presented and highlighted.Mamitiana Roger Razanajatovo Wenyan Gao Yaran Song Xuan Zhao Qina Sun Qingrui Zhang 2021Chinese Chemical Letters2021,32,9:2
2Influence of average radii of RE3+ ions on phase structures and thermal expansion coefficients of high-entropy pyrosilicates显示文摘High-entropy pyrosilicate element selection is relatively blind, and the thermal expansion coefficient (CTE) of traditional β-type pyrosilicate is not adjustable, making it difficult to meet the requirements of various types of ceramic matrix composites (CMCs). The following study aimed to develop a universal rule for high-entropy pyrosilicate element selection and to achieve directional control of the thermal expansion coefficient of high-entropy pyrosilicate. The current study investigates a high-entropy design method for obtaining pyrosilicates with stable β-phase and γ-phase by introducing various rare-earth (RE) cations. The solid-phase method was used to create 12 different types of high-entropy pyrosilicates with 4–6 components. The high-entropy pyrosilicates gradually transformed from β-phase to γ-phase with an increase in the average radius of RE^(3+) ions ( r¯(RE^(3+))). The nine pyrosilicates with a small r¯(RE^(3+)) preserve β-phase or γ-phase stability at room temperature to the maximum of 1400 ℃. The intrinsic relationship between the thermal expansion coefficient, phase structure, and RE–O bond length has also been found. This study provides the theoretical background for designing high-entropy pyrosilicates from the perspective of r¯(RE^(3+)). The theoretical guidance makes it easier to synthesize high-entropy pyrosilicates with stable β-phase or γ-phase for the use in environmental barrier coatings (EBCs). 3Somatic mutation landscape of a meningioma and its pulmonary metastasis显示文摘Background:Extracranial metastasis(ENM)of meningiomas is extremely rare,and typically occurs several years after a primary tumor is diagnosed.However,the genetic changes underlying ENM events have not yet been investigated.Case presentation:A 58-year-old male patient was sent to the emergency room of our hospital because of a sudden fall.Magnetic resonance imaging detected a mass at the right frontal sagittal sinus.He underwent tumor resection and recovered well,but post-operative computed tomography revealed three lumps on the right side of his chest.Thoracic surgery was performed to remove two of the lumps.Pathological findings revealed that the brain and lung tumors were grade I meningiomas.The patient received no additional radiation or chemotherapy post-surgery,and there was no sign of tumor recurrence in the brain or progression of the remaining lump in the chest 1 year after surgery.We performed whole exome sequencing of the patient’s blood,primary brain tumor,and lung metastatic tumor tissues to identify somatic genetic alterations that had occurred during ENM.This revealed that a frameshift deletion of the neurofibromin 2 gene likely drove formation of the meningioma.Surprisingly,we found that the brain tumor was relatively homogeneous and contained only one dominant clone;both the pulmonary metastasis and the original brain tumor were derived from the same clone,and no obvious additional driver mutations were detected in the metastatic tumor.Conclusion:Although ENM of meningiomas is very rare,brain tumor cells appear to be more adaptable to tissue microenvironments outside of the central nervous system than was commonly thought.Yaran Du Ting Lu Song Huang Fangfang Ren Gang Cui Jian Chen 2018Cancer Communications2018,38,1:0
4Orderedisorder transition and thermal conductivities of the(NdSmEuGd)_((1-x)/2)Dy_(2x)Zr_(2)O_(7)series显示文摘Rare-earth zirconates with pyrochlore and fluorite structures have recently been identified as promising thermal barrier coating materials owing to their low thermal conductivities.In this study,six samples with the general formula(NdSmEuGd)_((1-x)/2)Dy_(2x)Zr_(2)O_(7)were synthesized to further reduce the thermal conductivity.X-ray diffraction and Raman spectroscopy showed that the transition from an ordered pyrochlore to a disordered fluorite structure is due to cation and anion disorder.Transmission electron microscopy showed that anion disorder occurred before cation disorder.A modified mass disorder parameter was introduced into this system,which can describe the change in thermal conductivity well.This parameter can be a basis for designing more complex materials with lower thermal conductivities.Mengyao Li Chucheng Lin Yaran Niu Jimei Zhang Yi Zeng Xuemei Song 2023Journal of Materiomics2023,9,1:0
