| 1 | miR-124 suppresses multiple steps of breast cancer metastasis by targeting a cohort of pro-metastatic genes in vitro显示文摘Metastasis is a multistep process involving modification of morphology to suit migration, reduction of tumor cell adhesion to the extracellular matrix, increase of cell mobility, tumor cell resistance to anoikis, and other steps. MicroRNAs are well-suited to regulate tumor metastasis due to their capacity to repress numerous target genes in a coordinated manner, thereby enabling their intervention at multiple steps of the invasion-metastasis cascade. In this study, we identified a microRNA exemplifying these attributes, miR-124, whose expression was reduced in aggressive MDA-MB-231 and SK-3rd breast cancer cells. Down-regulation of miR-124 expression in highly aggressive breast cancer cells contributed in part to DNA hypermethylation around the promoters of the three genes encoding miR-124. Ectopic expression of miR-124 in MDA-MB-231 cells suppressed metastasis-related traits including formation of spindle-like morphology, migratory capacity, adhesion to fibronectin, and anoikis. | 2 | TCP7 functions redundantly with several Class Ⅰ TCPs and regulates endoreplication in Arabidopsis显示文摘TCP(TEOSINTE BRANCHED1/CYCLOIDEA/PROLIFERATING CELL FACTOR) proteins, a family of plantspecific transcription factors, play important roles in many developmental processes. However, genetic and functional redundancy among class I TCP limits the analysis of their biological roles. Here, we identified a dominantnegative mutant of Arabidopsis thaliana TCP7 named leaf curling-upward(lcu), which exhibits smaller leaf cells and shorter hypocotyls than the wild type, due to defective endoreplication. A septuple loss-of-function mutant of TCP7, TCP8, TCP14, TCP15, TCP21, TCP22, and TCP23 displayed similar developmental defects to those of lcu.Genome-wide RNA-sequencing showed that lcu and the septuple mutant share many misexpressed genes.Intriguingly, TCP7 directly targets the CYCLIN D1;1 (CYCD1;1) locus and activates its transcription. We determined that the C-terminus of TCP7 accounts for its transcriptional activation activity. Furthermore, the mutant protein LCU exhibited reduced transcriptional activation activity due to the introduction of an EAR-like repressive domain at its C-terminus. | 3 | Literature Review on Wireless Sensing Wi-Fi Signal-Based Recognition of Human Activities显示文摘With the rapid development and wide deployment of wireless technology, Wi-Fi signals have no longer been confined to the Internet as a communication medium. Wi-Fi signals will be modulated again by human actions when propagating indoors, carrying rich human body state information. Therefore, a novel wireless sensing technology is gradually emerging that can realize gesture recognition, human daily activity detection, identification,indoor localization and human body tracking, vital signs detection, imaging, and emotional recognition by extracting effective feature information about human actions from Wi-Fi signals. Researchers mainly use channel state information or frequency modulated carrier wave in their current implementation schemes of wireless sensing technology, called 'Walls have eyes', and these schemes cover radio-frequency technology, signal processing technology, and machine learning. These available wireless sensing systems can be used in many applications such as smart home, medical health care, search-and-rescue, security, and with the high precision and passively device-free through-wall detection function. This paper elaborates the research actuality and summarizes each system structure and the basic principles of various wireless sensing applications in detail. Meanwhile, two popular implementation schemes are analyzed. | 6 | Insulin sensitivity,βcell function,and adverse pregnancy outcomes in women with gestational diabetes显示文摘Background: The potential impact of β cell function and insulin sensitivity on adverse pregnancy outcomes in women with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) remains uncertain. We aimed to investigate the association between β cell dysfunction, insulin resistance, and the composite adverse pregnancy outcomes.Methods: This observational study included 482 women diagnosed with GDM during pregnancy. Quantitative metrics on β cell function and insulin sensitivity during pregnancy were calculated using traditional equations. The association of β cell dysfunction and insulin resistance with the risk of the composite adverse pregnancy outcomes was investigated using multivariable-adjusted logistic regression models.Results: Multivariable-adjusted odds ratios (ORs) of adverse pregnancy outcomes across quartiles of homeostatic model assessment for insulin resistance (HOMA-IR) were 1.00, 0.95, 1.34, and 2.25, respectively (P for trend = 0.011). When HOMA-IR was considered as a continuous variable, the multivariable-adjusted OR of adverse pregnancy outcomes was 1.34 (95% confidence interval 1.16-1.56) for each 1-unit increase in HOMA-IR. Multivariable-adjusted ORs of adverse pregnancy outcomes across quartiles of homeostatic model assessment for β cell function (HOMA-β) were 1.00, 0.51, 0.60, and 0.53, respectively (P for trend = 0.068). When HOMA-β was considered as a continuous variable, the multivariable-adjusted OR of adverse pregnancy outcomes was 0.57 (95% CI 0.24-0.90) for each 1-unit increase in HOMA-β. However, other quantitative metrics were not associated with the composite adverse pregnancy outcomes.Conclusions: We demonstrated a significant association of β cell function and insulin sensitivity with the risk of adverse pregnancy outcomes. | 9 | Equivalent efficacy assessment of QL1101 and bevacizumab in nonsquamous non-small cell lung cancer patients:A two-year follow-up data update显示文摘Objective: Anti-vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) monoclonal antibodies are an effective means of treating non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC). Here, we aim to update the equivalent efficacy assessment between QL1101 and bevacizumab based on two-year follow-up data.Methods: In total, 535 eligible NSCLC patients were enrolled in this randomized controlled trial. Patients were randomly assigned 1:1 to the QL1101 group and the bevacizumab group. The full end time of this study was defined as 24 months after the last enrolled patient was randomized. The primary endpoint was the objective response rate(ORR);equivalence was confirmed if the two-sided 90% confidence interval(90% CI) of the relative risk was within the range of 0.75-1.33. The secondary endpoints were progression-free survival(PFS) and overall survival(OS).Results: The two-year updated data showed similar ORR(QL1101 vs. bevacizumab: 53.1% vs. 54.3%;relative risk=0.977;90% CI: 0.838-1.144), PFS(235 d vs. 254 d, log-rank P=0.311), and OS(577 d vs. 641 d, log-rank P=0.099) results between the QL1101 group and the bevacizumab group. The mean shrinkage ratio of targeted lesions was also similar between the QL1101 group and the bevacizumab group(22.5% vs. 23.5%). | 16 | Low Li ion diffusion barrier on low-crystalline FeOOH nanosheets and high performance of energy storage显示文摘To obtain symmetric supercapacitors(SCs)with high energy density,it is critical to fabricate an electrode with wide potential window and excellent capacitive performance.Herein,by using the strong double hydrolysis reaction between anions and cations,the FeOOH nanosheets on the surface of activated carbon cloth(FeOOH@AC)are prepared through a simple hydrothermal process.The FeOOH@AC electrode exhibits maximum capacitance of 4,090 mF·cm^−2 at wider potential window-1–0 V and 3,250 mF·cm^−2 at 0–1 V versus SCE in 2 M LiNO3 electrolyte.With two pieces of FeOOH@AC electrodes the obtained symmetric SC can operate at the voltage window of 2 V.This FeOOH symmetric SC shows high energy density of 13.261 mWh·cm^−3 at a power density of 14.824 mW·cm^−3 and maintains 4.175 mWh·cm^−3 at a maximum power density of 118.564 mW·cm^−3,as well as excellent charge storage capacity and cyclic stability.Li ion adsorption and diffusion mechanism on the(200)facets of FeOOH are explained by the density functional theory(DFT)calculations.The simple synthesis process and excellent capacitance performance of the FeOOH@AC composite make it a very promising candidate for high performance symmetric SC electrodes. | Jien Li Shuang Luo Congcong Wang Qian Tang Yanwei Wang Xiangyu Han Hao Ran Jing Wan Xiao Gu Xue Wang Chenguo Hu | 2020 | Nano Research2020,13,3: | 1 |
