| 1 | The δ^(18)O variation of a stalagmite from Qixing Cave,Guizhou Province and indi-cated climate change during the Holocene显示文摘A stalagmite from Qixing Cave, Guizhou Province was dated with the TIMS U-series method and its oxygen isotope composition was analyzed. On the basis of the ages and the variations of the δ18O of the stalagmite, the climate change of the last 7.7 ka has been reconstructed in this area: 7.7-5.8 ka, summer monsoon maximum period; 5.8-3.8 ka summer monsoon weakening period; 3.8-0.15 ka, weakened summer monsoon and high amplitude climate fluctuations period. We put forward that the increasing trend of δ18O of the stalagmite reflected not only the weakening of the summer monsoon, which was caused by the decreasing of solar radiation in the Northern Hemisphere, but also the possibly decreasing contribution of the southwest monsoon to the rainfall of this area. These results are consistent with the output of the numerical climate-model modeling. | 2 | Approximate Solution of Oil Film Load-carrying Capacity of Turbulent Journal Bearing with Couple Stress Flow显示文摘The instability of the rotor dynamic system supported by oil journal bearing is encountered frequently, such as the half-speed whirl of the rotor, which is caused by oil film lubricant with nonlinearity. Currently, more attention is paid to the physical characteristics of oil film due to an oil-lubricated journal bearing being the important supporting component of the bearing-rotor systems and its nonlinear nature. In order to analyze the lubrication characteristics of journal bearings efficiently and save computational efforts, an approximate solution of nonlinear oil film forces of a finite length turbulent journal bearing with couple stress flow is proposed based on Sommerfeld and Ocvirk numbers. Reynolds equation in lubrication of a finite length turbulent journal bearing is solved based on multi-parametric principle. Load-carrying capacity of nonlinear oil film is obtained, and the results obtained by different methods are compared. The validation of the proposed method is verified, meanwhile, the relationships of load-carrying capacity versus eccentricity ratio and width-to-diameter ratio under turbulent and couple stress working conditions are analyzed. The numerical results show that both couple stress flow and eccentricity ratio have obvious influence on oil film pressure distribution, and the proposed method approximates the load-carrying capacity of turbulent journal bearings efficiently with various width-to-diameter ratios. | 6 | Orbital-scale Asian summer monsoon variations:Paradox and exploration显示文摘The Asian summer monsoon(ASM) is a vast climate system, whose variability is critical to the livelihoods of billions of people across the Asian continent. During the past half-century, much progress has been made in understanding variations on a wide range of timescales, yet several significant issues remain unresolved. Of note are two long-standing problems concerning orbital-scale variations of the ASM.(1) Chinese loess magnetic susceptibility records show a persistent glacial-interglacial dominated ~100 kyr(thousand years) periodicity, while the cave oxygen-isotope(δ18 O) records reveal periodicity in an almost pure precession band(~20 kyr periodicity)—the 'Chinese 100 kyr problem'.(2) ASM records from the Arabian Sea and other oceans surrounding the Asian continent show a significant lag of 8–10 kyr to Northern Hemisphere summer insolation(NHSI), whereas the Asian cave δ18 O records follow NHSI without a significant lag—a discrepancy termed the 'sea-land precession-phase paradox'. How can we reconcile these differences? Recent and more refined model simulations now provide spatial patterns of rainfall and wind across the precession cycle, revealing distinct regional divergences in the ASM domain, which can well explain a large portion of the disparities between the loess, marine, and cave proxy records. Overall, we also find that the loess, marine, and cave records are indeed complementary rather than incompatible, with each record preferentially describing a certain aspect of ASM dynamics. | 8 | Non-obstructive Coronary Artery Disease in Chinese Patients with Angina Diagnosed by Coronary Angiography:A Retrospective Study显示文摘Objective:This study aimed to estimate the proportion of non-obstructive coronary artery disease(CAD)patients in large percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI)centers in China.Methods:The study was conducted at 6 large PCI centers in China from January 1,2013 to December 31,2015.Demographic and clinical data were collected from medical records,prescription records,and laboratory reports of patients with symptoms of angina who underwent coronary angiography(CAG).Results:A total of 1713 patients were consecutively screened,1600 of whom were included in the study.CAG showed that 300 patients had non-obstructive CAD while 1300 had obstructive CAD.Among the 300 patients with non-obstructive CAD,203 displayed mild coronary stenosis(20%-49%)and 91 had normal coronary status(ie,<20%stenosis).Of the 1300 patients with obstructive CAD,61.6%(801/1300)had typical symptoms of angina,compared with 49.3%(148/300)for patients with nonobstructive CAD.In addition,there were more women than men in the non-obstructive CAD group,whereas the reverse was observed among obstructive CAD patients.Conclusion:The prevalence of non-obstructive CAD in the Chinese population with coronary heart disease was estimated to be approximately 20%.Additionally,typical angina symptoms were correlated with obstructive CAD,whereas female gender was identified as a risk factor for non-obstructive CAD. | Chengfei Peng Shaoping Nie Yingxian Sun Hui Chen Zuyi Yuan Yanjun Gong Xiaozeng Wang Yaling Han | 2021 | Cardiology Discovery2021,1,4: | 4 |

| 10 | Orthogonal resource sharing scheme for device-to-device communication overlaying cellular networks: a cooperative relay based approach显示文摘In this paper, we propose a device-to-device(D2D) communication scheme to improve local services in cellular networks. By employing cooperative relay(CR) technology, D2 D and cellular communications can operate in orthogonal resource sharing(ORS) mode with the aim of optimizing the data rates for local D2 D users while fulfilling the minimum rate requirements for prioritized cellular users. In the proposed CR-based ORS scheme, we consider a cellular communication that is willing to share part of the occupied bandwidth resource with some D2 D communications. Hence, the newly-obtained resource can be used by a D2 D communication for the following two purposes, i.e., to compensate the rate loss of the cellular communication through cooperative relaying and to communicate its own information so as to increase its own rate. We formulated this CR-based ORS problem as a non-convex optimization problem. Hence, a global maximizer may not exist for the problem.To find the optimal solution for the problem, an effective heuristic algorithm is developed. | 11 | Improving the Weld Formation and Mechanical Properties of the AA-5A06 Friction Pull Plug Welds by Axial Force Control显示文摘In the present study, the weld formation and mechanical properties of the AA-5A06 friction pull plug welded(FPPW) joints were improved by controlling the axial force history. Several defect-free FPPW joints were made successfully by using the welding parameters of 15–20 k N/s axial loading rate, 20–30 k N axial welding force and 6–7 mm axial feeding displacement. The results indicated that using higher axial loading rate and axial welding force produced more stable heat generation and shorter frictional heating time between the frictional interface. In this case, the plastic flow of the materials around the hole could be further improved since the axial feeding displacement of the plug was increased. The maximum ultimate tensile strength(UTS) and elongation of the FPPW 5A06 joints were 314 MPa and 4.8%, respectively. The thermal mechanically affect zone(TMAZ) had the lowest hardness value throughout the joint and was found as the fracture location to all the tensile samples.
