| 1 | Inflammasome activation in mouse inner ear in response to MCMV induced hearing loss显示文摘Objective: To identify presence of inflammasome activated in mouse cochlea with sensorineural hearing loss(SNHL) caused by cytomegalovirus(CMV) infection.Method: MCMV was injected into the right cerebral hemisphere in neonatal BALB/c mice at 2000 pfu virus titers. Auditory brainstem responses(ABRs) were tested to evaluate hearing at 21 days. Histopathological studies were conducted to confirm localizations of MCMV infected cells in the inner ear. Expression of inflammasome related factors was assessed by immunofluorescence, Quantitative real-time PCR and Western blotting.Results: In the mouse model of CMV induced SNHL, inflammasome related kinase Caspase-1 and downstream inflammatory factor IL-1b and IL-18 were found increased and activated after CMV infection in the cochlea. These factors could further up-regulate expression of IL-6 and TNFa. These inflammatory factors are neurotoxicity and may contribute to hearing impairment. Furthermore, we also detected significantly increased AIM2 protein that accumulated in the SGN of cochleae with CMV infection.Significance: We have shown that inflammasome as a novel inherent immunity mechanism may contribute to hearing impairment.Conclusion: Our data indicate that imflammasome assemble in mouse inner ear in response to CMV infection. We have revealed a novel pathology event in CMV induced SNHL involving activation of inflammasome in mouse cochlea. | 2 | Surface deformation at the epicenter of the May 12,2008 Wenchuan M8 Earthquake,at Yingxiu Town of Sichuan Province,China显示文摘Surface deformation,along National Highway 213 at the epicenter of Wenchuan M8 earthquake,at Yingxiu Town of Sichuan Province,China,is surveyed and measured in detail.The results show two distinct characteristics.One is that no horizontal displacement displays,or dextral strike-slip component at the observation point can not be found basically,the other is that uplift amount is 2.72 m,and the short-ening amount is 0.38 m,which reflects thrust shortening deformation is not obvious.The crust uplift amount of 2.71 m is distributed in a belt with width of 60 m.The model of lower crustal flow proposed by Royden et al.(1997) about the dynamic process in eastern margin of the Tibetan Plateau seems more suitable to explain the seismic surface deformation characteristics at Yingxiu Town,the epicenter of the May 12,2008 Wenchuan M8 Earthquake. | DONG ShaoPeng,HAN ZhuJun & AN YanFen National Center of Seismic Fault Study,Institute of Geology,China Earthquake Administration,Beijing 100029,China | 2008 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2008,51,S2: | 2 |
| 3 | A screening analysis of the GJB2 c.176 del 16 mutation responsible for hereditary deafness in a Chinese family显示文摘Objective:To determine whether a new-born child from a family carrying a deafness gene needs cochlear implantation to avoid dysphonia by screening and sequencing a deafness-related gene.Results:Both screening and sequencing results confirmed that the new born child had a normal GJB2 gene despite the fact that she has a brother suffering from hearing loss triggered by an allelic GJB2 c.176 del 16 mutation.We cloned the GJB2 genes derived from their respective blood genomic DNA into GFP fused plasmids and transfected those plasmids into the 293 T cell line to test for gene function.While the mutated GJB2gene(GJB2 c.176 del 16) of her deaf brother was found to be unable to form the gap junction structure between two adjacent cells,the baby girl's GJB2 gene ran into no such problems.Conclusion:The screening and sequencing as well as the GJB2 gene function tests invariably showed results consistent with the ABR tested hearing phenotype,which means that the child,with a normal wild type GJB2 gene,does not need early intervention to prevent her from developing hearing loss and dysphonia at a later stage in life. | Hao Jiang Xi Shi Shiwei Qiu Yanfen Dong Yuehua Qiao Dongzhi Wei | 2016 | Journal of Otology2016,11,3: | 2 |

| 5 | Evenness is important in assessing progress towards sustainable development goals显示文摘Sustainable development goals(SDGs)emphasize a holistic achievement instead of cherry-picking a few.However,no assessment has quantitatively considered the evenness among all 17 goals.Here,we propose a systematic method,which first integrates both the evenness and the overall status of all goals,to distinguish the ideal development pathways from the uneven ones and then revisit the development trajectory in China from 2000 to 2015.Our results suggest that,despite the remarkable progress,a bottleneck has occurred in China since 2013 due to the stagnant developments in some SDGs.However,many far-reaching policies in China have been targeting these deficiencies since then,providing a perspective on how a country approaches sustainable development by promoting evenness among all SDGs.Our results also indicate that regions with the slowest progress are the developed provinces,owing to the persistent uneven status of all goals.Our study demonstrates the importance of adopting evenness in assessing and guiding sustainable development. | Yali Liu Jianqing Du Yanfen Wang Xiaoyong Cui Jichang Dong Yanbin Hao Kai Xue Hongbo Duan Anquan Xia Yi Hu Zhi Dong Bingfang Wu Xinquan Zhao Bojie Fu | 2021 | National Science Review2021,8,8: | 1 |

| 8 | Isothermal crystallization of polypropylene/surface modified silica nanocomposites显示文摘In the present work, 3-methacryloxypropyltrimethoxy-silane silanized silica(SiO_2-WD70) and 9,10-dihydro-9-oxa-10-phosphaphenanthrene-10-oxide immobilized silica(SiO_2-WD70-DOPO) nanoparticles were prepared. Silica, SiO_2-WD70 and SiO_2-WD70-DOPO were incorporated into polypropylene(PP) by melt compounding. Differential scanning calorimetry(DSC), X-ray diffraction(XRD) and polarized optical microscopy(POM) were employed to investigate the isothermal crystallization behavior of PP and PP/silica composites. The kinetic constant(kn), and half crystallization time(t1/2) were calculated by Avrami equation,while the surface free energy of folding was calculated by Lauritzen-Hoffman theory. The increased kn, decreased t1/2 and the surface free energy(σe) in the order of PP, PP/SiO_2, PP/SiO_2-WD70 and PP/SiO_2-WD70-DOPO nanocomposites were attributed to the surface modification of silica. XRD indicated that SiO_2-WD70-DOPO addition had no effect on PP crystal structure but accelerated the crystallization rate. POM determined that SiO_2-WD70-DOPO addition promoted the nucleation of PP by inducing a higher nucleation density during isothermal conditions.
