| 1 | A novel gene delivery system targeting cells expressing VEGF receptors显示文摘Two ligand oligopeptides GV1 and GV2 were designed according to the putative binding region of VEGF to its receptors. GV1, GV2 and endosome releasing oligopeptide HA20 were conjugated with poly-L-lysine or protamine and the resulting conjugates could interact with DNA in a noncovalent bond to form a complex. Using pSV2-β-galactosidase as a reporter gene, it has been demonstrated that exogenous gene was transferred into bovine aortic arch-derived endothelial cells (ABAE) andhuman malignant melanoma cell lines (A375) in vitro. In vivo experiments, exogenous gene was transferred into tumor vascular endothelial cells and tumor cells of subcutaneously transplanted human colon cancer LOVO, human malignant melanoma A375 and human hepatoma graft in nude mice. This system could also target gene to intrahepatically transplanted human hepatoma injected via portal vein in nude mice. | 2 | Efficacy and Safety of Quxie Capsule(祛邪胶囊) in Metastatic Colorectal Cancer:A Double-Blind Randomized Placebo Controlled Trial显示文摘Objective:To verify the efficacy and safety of Quxie Capsule(祛邪胶囊) in patients with metastatic colorectal cancer(mC RC).Methods:The present study was a randomized,double-blind,placebo-controlled trial.Sixty patients with mC RC were randomized into two groups at a 1:1 ratio by sealed envelope.The treatment group received conventional therapy combined with Quxie Capsule for 3 months.The control group was treated with conventional therapy combined with placebo for 3 months.Main outcome measures were overall survival(OS) and progression-free survival(PFS).Subgroup analysis was performed according to age,right or left-sided disease,and second-line therapy to determine the differences in PFS and OS between the two groups.Patients were followed up every 3 months until Dec 31 st 2016.Results:The median OS was 23 months in the treatment group [95% confidence interval(CI):15–not calculated] vs.14 months in the control group(95% CI:11–22,P=0.060).The OS of the treatment group tended to be longer than that of the control group(P>0.05).In the subgroups of patients <65 years old,left-sided colon,and 2 nd-line therapy,the treatment group showed a significant survival benefit compared with the control group(P=0.006,0.038,0.013,respectively).There were no significant differences between the two groups in PFS(P>0.05).Safety analysis showed no severe hematological toxicity or liver and renal function injury in the treatment group.Conclusions:Quxie Capsule showed good safety and efficacy,and could prolong the OS of patients with mC RC. | ZHANG Tong YANG Yu-fei HE Bin YI Dan-hui HAO Jie ZHANG Da | 2018 | Chinese Journal of Integrative Medicine2018,24,3: | 20 |

| 4 | H2 strain attenuated live hepatitis A vaccines:protective efficacy in a hepatitis A outbreak显示文摘AIM To investigate the protective efficacy ofH2 strain attenuated live hepatitis A vaccines(H2-strain vaccines)in hepatitis A(HA)outbreaks.METHODS With the permission of theirparents,5551 pre-school and grade 1-3 primaryschool children were inoculated with 1 dose(106.5TCID50)of H2-strain vaccines in anonrandomized,controlled trial conducted inFucheng County,Hebei Province in May 1997.Another 6485 children in the same grades andcompatible in gender and age were enrolled ascontrols.Epidemiological and serological surveywas conducted to evaluate the protectiveefficacy of the vaccines.ELISA was used todetect serum IgM anti-HAV.RESULTS HA outbreak started in early May1998,peaked in the middle of the same month,and lasted about 80 days.Overall 302 HA caseswere found,192(53.58%)were 5-9 years old.One vaccinee and 25 control cases were found tohave hepatitis A,which account for 0.28%(1/356)and 5.92%(25/422)of all vaccinees andcontrols in the 14 villages,respectively.The protective efficacy of vaccines was 95.27%(95% Cl:85.83%-104.72%).In subjects testedfor anti-HAV IgM from 13 villages,1(0.40%)overt and 11(4.06%)asymptomatic HAV caseswere found in 271 vaccinees,but 21(6.69%)ofovert and asymptomatic ones were found in 314controls.CONCLUSION H2 strain vaccines were excellent in preventing overt hepatitis A, but not so effective in preventing asymptomatic hepatitis A virus infection. | 9 | Exogenous hydrogen sulfide inhibits apoptosis by regulating endoplasmic reticulum stress-autophagy axis and improves myocardial reconstruction after acute myocardial infarction显示文摘During acute myocardial infarction,endoplasm ic reticulum(ER)stress-induced autophagy and apoptosis have been shown as im portant pathogeneses of myocardial reconstruction.Im portantly,hydrogen sulfide(H2S),as a third endogenous gas signaling molecule,exerts strong cytoprotective effect on anti-ER stress,autophagy regulation and antiapoptosis.Here,we showed that H2 S treatm ent inhibits apoptosis by regulating ER stress-autophagy axis and im proves myocardial reconstruction after acute myocardial infarction.We found that H2S intervention im proved left ventricle function,reduced glycogen deposition in myocardial tissue mesenchyme,and inhibited apoptosis.Moreover,the expressions of fibrosis indicators(Col3a1 and Col1a2),ER stress-related proteins(CHOP and BIP/ERP78),autophagy-related proteins(Beclin and ATG5),apoptosis protein(Bax),as well as fibrosis protein Col4a3bp were all decreased after treatm ent w ith H2 S.H2 S adm inistration also m aintained MMP/TIMP balance.Mechanistically,H2S activated the PI3K/AKT signaling pathway.In addition,H2S treatm ent also reduced the expressions of ER stress-related proteins,autophagy-related proteins,and apoptins in in wtro experiments.Interestingly,activation of ER stress-autophagy axis could reverse the inhibitory effect of H2S on myocardial apoptosis.Altogether,these results suggested that exogenous H2S suppresses myocardial apoptosis by blocking ER stress-autophagy axis,which in turn reverses cardiac rem odeling after myocardial infarction. | Yaling Li Maojun Liu Jiali Yi Xiong Song Xia Zheng Da Liu Sen Wang Chun Chu Jun Yang | 2020 | Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2020,52,12: | 5 |

| 14 | Jurassic Black Shales Facies from Qiangtang Basin (Northern Tibet): Rare Earth and Trace Elements for Paleoceanographic Implications显示文摘The Biluo Co and Amdo 114 station, northern Tibet, cropping out the Early Toarcian and Middle-Late Tithonian (Jurassic) organic-rich black shales, have been a focus to petroleum geologists in discussing their oil-producing potential. This paper first reports the trace elements and rare earth elements to discuss the paleoenvironments, redox conditions and sedimentary mechanisms of those black shales. Both sections exhibit variation in trace element abundances with concentrations <0.1 ppm to 760 ppm, mostly enriched in V, Cr, Ni, Cu, Zn, Mo, Ba and U. Element ratios of Ni/Co, V/Cr, U/Th and V/(V+Ni) plus U were used to identify redox conditions. The shale-normalized rare earth element (REE) patterns are characterized by the flat-shale type with instable Ce anomalies and very weekly positive Eu anomalies. Positive Ceanom values are significant with values varying between - 0.064 and 0.029 in Biluo Co, which may be interpreted as release of REE and input of riverine terrestrial matter with rich Ce (resulting in pH change) during the anoxic conditions. In the middle parts of Amdo 114 station, distinct negative Ceanom values are observed (-0.238 to -0.111) and associated surface water warming were interpreted as being related to a major sea level rise. In contrast, the formation of the black shales in the lower and upper part of the studied succession took place during a cooler (Ceanom values >-0.10), lower surface water productivity, and lower sea-level stage. Thus, we emphasize the role of different factors that control the formation of local and regional black shales. | 16 | Challenges and opportunities for carbon neutrality in China’s building sector—Modelling and data显示文摘The building sector is one of the largest energy user and carbon emitter globally.To achieve China’s national carbon target,the building sector in China needs to achieve carbon peaking and neutrality targets by 2030 and 2060,respectively.However,data deficiency on building energy and emissions become barriers for tracking the status of building energy and emissions,and identify potential opportunities for achieving dual carbon targets.To address these shortcomings,this study established an integrated China Building Energy and Emission Model(CBEEM).With CBEEM,this study evaluated the building-construction and building-operation energy and emissions in China,and revealed the status quo and potential challenge and opportunities.According to modelling results,building operation energy use of China was 1.06 billion tce in 2020,accounting for 21%of China’s total primary energy consumption.Building construction energy consumption was 0.52 billion tce in 2020,accounting for another 10%of total primary energy consumption.Key messages found on building carbon emissions are:building construction embodied emissions were 1.5 billion tCO_(2) in 2020 and are declining slowly,building operational carbon emissions were 2.2 billion tCO_(2) in 2020 and are still increasing.International comparisons between China and other countries on building stock,energy use intensity and carbon emission intensity were conducted as well,and help shed a light on the challenges for decarbonization of China’s building sector.Finally,technology perspectives to achieve carbon neutrality target were discussed and related policy suggestions were provided. | Shan Hu Yang Zhang Ziyi Yang Da Yan Yi Jiang | 2022 | Building Simulation2022,15,11: | 4 |
| 17 | CDH13 Genetic Polymorphisms, Adiponectin and Ischemic Stroke: a Chinese Family-based Sib-pair Study显示文摘Objective To understand the relationships between CDH13(T-cadherin) genetic polymorphisms, adiponectin levels and ischemic stroke, and possible interactions between CDH13 polymorphisms and other risk factors. Methods We recruited 342 Chinese ischemic stroke sib pairs. We genotyped rs4783244 and rs7193788 on CDH13 using time-of-flight mass spectrometry genotyping technology and measured total and high-molecular weight(HMW) adiponectin levels. We investigated associations between SNPs and ischemic stroke, and interactions between SNPs and other risk factors using multi-level mixed-effects regression model. Results In individuals without ischemic stroke, CDH13 rs4783244 was associated with total adiponectin levels(per T: Coef =-0.257, P = 0.001). CDH13 rs7193788 was associated with total adiponectin levels(per A: Coef =-0.221, P = 0.001) and HMW adiponectin levels(per A: Coef =-0.163, P = 0.003). rs7193788 was significantly associated with ischemic stroke(GA/AA vs. GG: OR = 1.55, 95% CI: 1.07 to 2.24, P = 0.020) after Bonferroni correction(α = 0.025). There was an interaction between rs7193788 and diabetes(P = 0.036). Compared to diabetes-free individuals with rs7193788 GG genotype, diabetes patients with rs7193788 GA/AA genotypes had higher risks for ischemic stroke(OR = 2.64, 95% CI: 1.58-4.40, P < 0.001). Conclusion CDH13 genetic polymorphisms are associated with adiponectin levels and ischemic stroke. | 20 | Prostate Health Index(phi)and its derivatives predict Gleason score upgrading after radical prostatectomy among patients with low-risk prostate cancer显示文摘To analyze the performance of the Prostate Health Index(phi)and its derivatives for predicting Gleason score(GS)upgrading between prostate biopsy and radical prostatectomy(RP)in the Chinese population,an observational,prospective RP cohort consisting of 351 patients from two medical centers was established from January 2017 to September 2020.Pathological reclassification was determined by the Gleason Grade Group(GG).The area under the receiver operating characteristic curve(AUC)and logistic regression(LR)models were used to evaluate the predictive performance of predictors.In clinically low-risk patients with biopsy GG≤2,phi(odds ratio[OR]=1.80,95%confidence interval[95%CI]:1.14-2.82,P=0.01)and its derivative phi density(PHID;OR=2.34,95%CI:1.30-4.20,P=0.005)were significantly associated with upgrading to GG≥3 after RP,and the results were confirmed by multivariable analysis.Similar results were observed in patients with biopsy GG of 1 for the prediction of upgrading to RP GG≥2.Compared to the base model(AUC=0.59),addition of the phi or PHID could provide additional predictive value for GS upgrading in low-risk patients(AUC=0.69 and 0.71,respectively,both P<0.05).In conclusion,phi and PHID could predict GS upgrading after RP in clinically low-risk patients. | Jia-Qi Yan Da Huang Jing-Yi Huang Xiao-Hao Ruan Xiao-Ling Lin Zu-Jun Fang Yi Gao Hao-Wen Jiang Yi-Shuo Wu Rong Na Dan-Feng Xu | 2022 | Asian Journal of Andrology2022,24,4: | 3 |
