| 1 | EDTA-assisted hydrothermal synthesis of flower-like CoSe_2 nanorods as an efficient electrocatalyst for the hydrogen evolution reaction显示文摘Hydrogen evolution reaction(HER) is a prospective method to generate pure hydrogen. The development of superior electrocatalysts based on earth-abundant materials, plays a critical role in the future.CoSe_2, one of the earth-abundant electrocatalysts, has been proved to be a promising catalyst for hydrogen generation. In our work, flower-like CoSe_2 nanorods with high quality are successfully synthesized through a facile ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid ligand(EDTA)-assisted hydrothermal process. The flower-like CoSe_2 nanorods show the brilliant electrochemical HER performance with 100 mA cm^(-2) at overpotential of 273 m V, a small Tafel slope of 35 mV dec^(-1) and strong durability in acid solution. The sparkly HER catalytic activity of CoSe_2 can be ascribed to its particular structure with large surface area and abundant active sites. | 2 | Modeled exposure to phthalates via inhalation and dermal pathway in children's sleeping environment: A preliminary study and its implications显示文摘In this study,exposure to phthalates during children’s sleeping time was evaluated based on a mechanistic model.Airborne phase-specific concentrations in this model were estimated taking into account kinetic partitioning,particle dynamics and time-varying ventilation.Exposure pathways considered were inhalation exposure to airborne phases,dermal absorption from 'air-to-skin' transport and direct contact.By taking di(n-butyl)phthalate(DnBP)and bis(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate(DEHP)as two representative pollutants,inhalation exposure accounted for>90%when children wore clean pajamas before going to bed.Dermal uptake significantly increased when children's pajamas had absorbed DnBP before putting them on,whereas dermal uptake of DEHP was relatively lower and insensitive to the condition of clothing.Increasing air exchange rate at night and keeping clothes cleaner were effective for reducing children's exposures during sleeping period.Further studies are necessary taking into account source-proximity effect,particle emissions and refined dermal exposure routes. | Zhongming Bu Cong Dong Daniel Mmereki Yanghui Ye Zhu Cheng | 2021 | Building Simulation2021,14,6: | 0 |
| 3 | Experimental Study on Soot Suppression of Acetylene Diffusion Flame by Acoustic-Excited Oscillation in Rijke-Type Burner显示文摘This work reports that the flame oscillation induced by acoustic excitation can effectively suppress soot generation in Rijke-type burners.When the acoustic frequency is close to the natural frequency of the burner system,it can produce resonance resulting in intense oscillation of the flame.The relationship between the soot suppression efficiency and the acoustic field of standing wave at different flame positions is discussed.Compared with that under self-excited oscillation,when there is external forced acoustic force introduced to the flame,oscillation combustion occurred in a lager zone in the glass tube.The fundamental cause of different soot suppression efficiency at different positions is that the standing wave acoustic field causes the particles to move at different speeds in different positions of the glass tube.The axial particle velocity difference results in the formation of acoustic vortexes and the change of the flame shape.The high particle velocity causes the air in the glass tube to turn into the turbulent condition and make the flame temperature rise.Simulation results show that the surface growth rate of soot is reduced,while the oxidation rate of soot is enhanced,which result in the soot suppression under acoustic oscillation.This study can provide some reference for the practical application of oscillate combustion in soot suppression. | ZHU Yibin GUO Hui SUO Yan'ge WU Minle YE Yanghui LI Guoneng ZHANG Zhiguo | 2024 | Journal of Thermal Science2024,33,1: | 0 |

| 5 | Reducing children’s exposure to di(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate in homes and kindergartens in China:Impact on lifetime cancer risks and burden of disease显示文摘Exposure to di(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate(DEHP)in the indoor environment has been linked with significant health risks for Chinese children.Multi-phase DEHP concentrations in Chinese residences and kindergartens were estimated using a mass balance model based on the current baseline condition and control strategies(i.e.,increasing ventilation rate,reducing area of sources,using mechanical ventilation systems,and using portable air cleaners).The health benefits of each control strategy were quantified as the reduction in lifetime cancer risks(LCR)and burden of disease(BoD).In the current situation,the mean LCR and disability-adjusted life years(DALY)number attributable to indoor DEHP exposure for Chinese children were around 6.0×10^(−6) and 155 thousand,respectively.The mean LCR and DALY might be reduced by 25%-54%and 16%-40%,respectively,by increasing air exchange rates by 100%,reducing the use of source materials by two-thirds or deploying commercial air cleaners in naturally ventilated buildings.Meanwhile,avoidable DALYs could result in a reduction of mean economic losses of 2.2-5.3 billion RMB.Mechanical ventilation systems with filtration units may not be helpful for reducing children’s health risks.House-specific and tailor-made control measures are critical in lowering indoor exposure to DEHP to promote sustainable buildings and children’s health in China. | Dongsheng Tao Wen Sun Donghui Mo Yonghui Lin Wei Lv Daniel Mmereki Yousheng Xu Yanghui Ye Yuanjun Tang Chao Ye Cong Dong Zhongming Bu | 2024 | Building Simulation2024,17,3: | 0 |
