1Malus-metasurface-assisted polarization multiplexing显示文摘Polarization optics plays a pivotal role in diffractive,refractive,and emerging flat optics,and has been widely employed in contemporary optical industries and daily life.Advanced polarization manipulation leads to robust control of the polarization direction of light.Nevertheless,polarization control has been studied largely independent of the phase or intensity of light.Here,we propose and experimentally validate a Malus-metasurface-assisted paradigm to enable simultaneous and independent control of the intensity and phase properties of light simply by polarization modulation.The orientation degeneracy of the classical Malus’s law implies a new degree of freedom and enables us to establish a one-to-many mapping strategy for designing anisotropic plasmonic nanostructures to engineer the Pancharatnam–Berry phase profile,while keeping the continuous intensity modulation unchanged.The proposed Malus metadevice can thus generate a near-field greyscale pattern,and project an independent far-field holographic image using an ultrathin and single-sized metasurface.This concept opens up distinct dimensions for conventional polarization optics,which allows one to merge the functionality of phase manipulation into an amplitudemanipulation-assisted optical component to form a multifunctional nano-optical device without increasing the complexity of the nanostructures.It can empower advanced applications in information multiplexing and encryption,anti-counterfeiting,dual-channel display for virtual/augmented reality,and many other related fields.Liangui Deng Juan Deng Zhiqiang Guan Jin Tao Yang Chen Yan Yang Daxiao Zhang Jibo Tang Zhongyang Li Zile Li Shaohua Yu Guoxing Zheng Hongxing Xu Cheng-Wei Qiu Shuang Zhang 2020Light(Science & Applications)2020,9,1:7
2Interference management in 6G space and terrestrial integrated networks: Challenges and approaches显示文摘The Space-Terrestrial Integrated Network(STIN)is considered to be a promising paradigm for realizing worldwide wireless connectivity in sixth-Generation(6G)wireless communication systems.Unfortunately,excessive interference in the STIN degrades the wireless links and leads to poor performance,which is a bottleneck that prevents its commercial deployment.In this article,the crucial features and challenges of STIN-based interference are comprehensively investigated,and some candidate solutions for Interference Management(IM)are summarized.As traditional IM techniques are designed for single-application scenarios or specific types of interference,they cannot meet the requirements of the STIN architecture.To address this issue,we propose a self-adaptation IM method that reaps the potential benefits of STIN and is applicable to both rural and urban areas.A number of open issues and potential challenges for IM are discussed,which provide insights regarding future research directions related to STIN.Shi Yan Xueyan Cao Zile Liu Xiqing Liu 2020Intelligent and Converged Networks2020,1,3:3
3Global antimicrobial resistance:a system-wide comprehensive investigation using the Global One Health Index显示文摘Background:Antimicrobial resistance(AMR)is one of the top ten global public health challenges.However,given the lack of a comprehensive assessment of worldwide AMR status,our objective is to develop a One Health-based system-wide evaluation tool on global AMR.Methods:We have further developed the three-hierarchical Global One Health Index(GOHI)-AMR indicator scheme,which consists of five key indicators,17 indicators,and 49 sub-indicators,by incorporating 146 countries'data from diverse authoritative databases,including WHO's Global Antimicrobial Resistance and Use Surveillance System(GLASS)and the European CDC.We investigated the overall-or sub-rankings of GOHI-AMR at the international/regional/national levels for data preprocessing and score calculation utilizing the existing GOHI methodology.Additionally,a correlation analysis was conducted between the GOHI-AMR and other socioeconomic factors.Results:The average GOHI-AMR score for 146 countries is 38.45.As expected,high-income countries(HICs)outperform the other three income groups on overall rankings and all five key indicators of GOHI-AMR,whereas lowincome countries unexpectedly outperform upper-middle-income countries and lower-middle-income countries on the antibiotics-resistant key indicator(ARR)and ARR-subordinate indicators,including carbapenem-,β-lactam-,and quinolone resistance,and even HICs on aminoglycoside resistance.There were no significant differences among the four groups on the environmental-monitoring indicator(P>0.05).GOHI-AMR was positively correlated with gross domestic product,life expectancy,and AMR-related publications,but negatively with natural growth rate and chronic respiratory disease.In contrast to Cyprus,the remarkably lower prevalence of'ESKAPE pathogens'in high-scoring Sweden and Denmark highlights Europe's huge gaps.China and Russia outperformed the other three BRICS countries on all key indicators,particularly India's ARR and Brazil's AMR laboratory network and coordination capacity.Furthermore,significant internal disparities in carbapenem-resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae(CRKP)and methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus(MRSA)prevalence were observed between China and the USA,with MRSA prevalence both gradually declining,whereas CRKP prevalence has been declining in the USA but increasing in China,consistent with higher carbapenems-related indicator'performance in USA.Conclusions:GOHI-AMR is the most comprehensive tool currently available for the assessment of AMR status worldwide.We discovered unique features impacting AMR in each country and offered precise recommendations to improve the capacity to tackle AMR in low-ranking countries.Nan Zhou Zile Cheng Xiaoxi Zhang Chao Lv Chaoyi Guo Haodong Liu Ke Dong Yan Zhang Chang Liu Yunfu Chang Sheng Chen Xiaokui Guo Xiao-Nong Zhou Min Li Yongzhang Zhu 2022Infectious Diseases of Poverty2022,11,4:2
4Development of a bias power supply for Geiger mode avalanche photodiodes显示文摘Avalanche photodiodes(APDs)have high output and high stability requirements for bias power in Geiger mode.This paper designs an APD with high boost ratio,high precision,low temperature drift,small size,and low power.Bias power supply,this module uses switching chip IC and flyback transformer to achieve high step-up ratio,realizes precise output control through precision operational amplifier and T-type resistor feedback network,and designs appropriate compensation network to improve system stability.The size of the module is 2.5 cm×2.5 cm,the output voltage is adjustable from 0 to 450 V,and the maximum ripple does not exceed 5.4 mV.By changing the control voltage,any type of APD in Geiger mode can be biased,and the maximum deviation of the bias voltage does not exceed 0.5%.MENG Yinjie WEI Zhengjun YAN Ziling WANG Jindong 2023Optoelectronics Letters2023,19,11:0

6Supporting Seeder and Planting Technology for Spring Corn in Arid Areas显示文摘The annual rainfall is low and the fresh water resources are scarce for the rainfed farming in dry zone of northern China,which seriously affects the sowing and growth of spring corn. In order to solve this problem,the technology of ridge-mulching and side-sowing of spring corn is put forward,the supporting compound operation seeder is developed,and the effect of different speed on the quality of sowing is tested and analyzed. Under the test conditions described in this paper,the seeding operation with a high speed( up to 6 km/h) can be realized,and the quality of the seeding operation can meet the requirements of the national standards. 7Cleaner geopolymer prepared by co-activation of gasification coal fly ash and steel slag:durability properties and economic assessment显示文摘Geopolymer is a material with high early strength.However,the insufficient durability properties,such as long-term strength,acid-base resistance,freeze-thaw resistance,leaching toxicity,thermal stability,sulfate resistance and carbonation resistance,restrain its practical application.Herein,a longterm stable geopolymer composite with high final strength(ASK1)was synthesized from shell coal gasification fly ash(SFA)and steel slag(SS).Additionally,a geopolymer composite with high early strength(ASK2)was also synthesized for comparison.The results showed that ASK1 exhibited better performance on freezing-thawing resistance,carbonization resistance and heavy metals stabilization compared to the ASK2 at long-term curing.Raising the curing temperature could accelerate the unconfined compressive strength(UCS)development at initial curing ages of 3 to 7 d.Both ASK1 and ASK2 exhibited excellent acid-base and sulfate corrosion resistance.An increase for UCS was seen under KOH solution and MgSO_(4)solution corrosion for ASK1.All leaching concentrations of heavy metals out of the two geopolymers were below the standard threshold,even after 50 freezingthawing cycles.Both ASK1 and ASK2 geopolymer concrete exhibited higher sustainability and economic efficiency than Portland cement concrete.The result of this study not only provides a suitable way for the utilization of industrial solid waste in civil and environmental engineering,but also opens a new approach to improve the long-term stabilities of the geopolymers.Xian Zhou Xia Chen Ziling Peng Yongmen Zhou Yan Li Wang Jian Zeyu Fan Yuchi Chen 2023Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2023,17,12:0
