2Laser Assisted Fabrication for Controlled Single-Walled Carbon Nanotube Synthesis and Processing(Invited Paper)显示文摘Although significant progress has been made in large scale and high quality single-walled carbon nanotube(SWNT) synthesis,the fabrication of SWNT-based functional devices still faces many challenges due to the lack of good methods to precisely control over SWNTs growth location,orientation,alignment,and electronic properties.Hence,development of practical methods for well-controlled SWNT-based device fabrication has drawn great interests from both academics and industry.Due to numerous advantages,laser-based techniques are applied in controlled fabrication of SWNT devices.In this paper,we first introduce the laser assisted chemical vapor deposition(LCVD) process,and then different aspects of controllability in device fabrication are described in three sections: 1) location and orientation control of SWNT channels integration using optical near-field effects;2) alignment control of SWNTs arrays using electrical biasing polarities;3) SWNTs electronic property control using laser-induced breakdown technique.Our experimental results show that well-organized individual SWNT channels or arrays with location,orientation,alignment,and electronic property control can be achieved through laser assisted fabrication process,which is a promising solution for the fabrication of future SWNT-based devices.W. 5Multimolecular complex of Par-4 and E2F1 binding to Smac promoter contributes to glutamate-induced apoptosis in human-bone mesenchymal stem cells显示文摘Neural cells undergo glutamate-induced apoptosis in ischaemic brain tissue,in which prostate apoptosis response-4 gene (Par-4)is involved.Human-bone mesenehymal stem cells can be utilized as an effective therapy for ischemic brain injury.In this study,we found that glutamate could induce apoptosis in human-bone mesenehymal stem cells,accompanied by increased expression of Par-4 gene and Smac release from mitochondria.Repressing Par-4 expression attenuated the glutamate-induced apoptosis.Both Par-4 protein and E2F1 protein could bind to E2F1-binding BS3 site on Smac promoter and participated in the formation of a pro- teins-DNA complex.Moreover,in the eomplex,E2F1,not Par-4,was found to be directly bound to the Smac promoter,suggesting that Par-4 exerted indireetly its transcriptional control on the Smac gene though interacting with E2F1.Expression of full-length Par-4 in human-bone mesenchymal cells resulted in increased activity of the Smac promoter.In addition,the indirect transcripional regula- tion of Par-4 on Smac depended on its COOH terminus-mediated interaction between Par-4 and E2F1.We conclude that the forma- tion of proteins-DNA complex,containing Par-4 protein,E2F1 protein and the Smac promoter,contributes to the pro-apoptotic effect on glutamate-treated human-bone mesenchymal stem cells.Lu, C. 7SIMULATON ON WELDING PROCESS OF T - JOINTS显示文摘T-joints are widely used in ship manufacturing and other welding structures.The welding residual stress and deformation hare significant influence on failure and service life in welding structures.By us- ing of 3D thermal elasto - plastic FEM, the temperature fields,stress fields and deformation of weld- ing processes on T - joints are analyzed in this paper.The moving heat source is considered in the com- putation. Moreover, weld metal filling and multiple - pass welding are simulated using activate/deac- tivate ability.For avoiding 'locking' in full integration elements of welding computation,the re- duced intergration elements are used in weld area.The nonlinear FEM analysis program MARC is used to complete the computations, as well as its user subroutines that are programmed to develop the special techniques needed in the simulation of welding process.Some different welding procedures are com- pared, and the welding residual stress and deformation are discussed in details.H.
