1Research on the slope spectrum of the Loess Plateau显示文摘A new concept dealing with digital analysis of loess terrain,slope spectrum,is presented and discussed in this paper,by introducing its characteristic,represen-tation and extracting method from DEMs. Using 48 geomorphological units in dif-ferent parts of the loess as test areas and 5 m-resolution DEMs as original test data,the quantitative depiction and spatial distribution of slope spectrum in China's Loess Plateau have been studied on the basis of a series of carefully-designed experiments. In addition,initial experiment indicates a strong relationship between the slope spectrum and the loess landform types,displaying a potential importance of the slope spectrum in geomorphological studies. Based on the slope spectrums derived from the 25 m-resolution DEM data in whole loess terrain in northern part of Shaanxi,13 slope spectrum indices were extracted and integrated into a compre-hensive layer with image integration method. Based on that,a series of unsuper-vised classifications was applied in order to make a landform classification in northern Shaanxi Loess Plateau. Experimental results show that the slope spec-trum analysis is an effective method in revealing the macro landform features. A continuous change of slope spectrum from south to north in northern Shaanxi Loess Plateau shows an obvious spatial distribution of different loess landforms. 2A review of removal technology for antimony in aqueous solution显示文摘Antimony(Sb)and its compounds,toxic metalloid,have been classified as high-priority pollutants.Increasing Sb released into the water environment by natural processes and anthropogenic activities,which exposure threatens to human health and ecosystems.Therefore,it is of unquestionable importance to remove Sb from polluted water.Keeping in view the extreme importance of this issue,we summarize the source,chemistry,speciation,distribution,toxicity,and polluted situation of Sb about aqueous solution.Then,we provide the recent and common technology to remove Sb,which are based on adsorption,coagulation/flocculation,electrochemical technology,membrane technology,ion exchange,etc.In this review,we focus in detail on the adsorption method,researchers at present have been investigating to discover more advanced,cost-effective,eco-friendly,reusable adsorbents.However,to date the Sb-containing wastewater treatment technologies are not sufficiently developed and most of research have been tested only in controlled lab conditions.Few reports are available that include field studies and applications.We critically analyzed the salient features and removal mechanisms,evaluating benefits and limitations of these technologies,hoping to provide more references for further research.Finally,we considered the Fe-or Mn-based technologies was the most promising technique to remove Sb for field application.Xiaojing Long Xin Wang Xuejun Guo Mengchang He 2020Journal of Environmental Sciences2020,32,4:20

4Relationship Between Perisylvian Essential Language Sites and Arcuate Fasciculus in the Left Hemisphere of Healthy Adults显示文摘Essential language sites and the arcuate fasciculus(AF) have been extensively researched. However, the relationship between them remains insufficiently studied,especially in healthy people. Navigated transcranial magnetic stimulation(n TMS) is increasingly used in language mapping. While enjoying the advantage of non-invasiveness, it is also capable of inducing a virtual lesion in the brain. Thus, it offers the possibility of using the virtuallesion method to study the healthy brain. This study combined n TMS and diffusion tensor imaging(DTI)tractography to investigate the relationship between essential language sites and the AF in 30 healthy right-handedvolunteers. A total of 143 essential language sites were identified using n TMS, and a total of 175 AF terminations were identified using DTI tractography. Sixty-six sites had a direct correlation with the AF, accounting for 46% of the total essential language sites. Forty-seven AF terminations harbored essential language sites, accounting for 27% of the total AF terminations. Upon data rendering to the cortical parcellation system, a region-related heterogeneity of the correlation rate was found. 5Mooring observed mode-2 internal solitary waves in the northern South China Sea显示文摘The mode-2 internal solitary waves(ISWs)generated by mode-2 internal tide(IT)are identified by mooring observations in the northern South China Sea(SCS)from 2016 to 2017.Two mode-2 ISWs with a re-appearance period of 24.9 h observed on 29 and 30 July 2016 are characterized by type-b ISWs.They occurred when the isotherms compressed obviously in the vertical direction.Modal decomposition of IT horizontal currents shows that the vertical compression of the isotherms is mainly caused by diurnal mode-2 IT.The analysis of the role of the density stratification reveals that a deeper and thinner pycnocline is favorable for generation of mode-2 ISWs rather than pycnocline intensity.By comparing the mode-2 nonlinear,dispersion coefficients and the Ursell numbers calculated based on the stratification associated with different kinds of ITs with the observation results,it is shown that the diurnal mode-2 IT plays a crucial role in the generation of the mode-2 ISWs.When the diurnal mode-2 IT interacts with the semidiurnal IT and causes a deeper and thinner pycnocline,the mode-2 ISWs are easily excited.Liang Chen Xuejun Xiong Quanan Zheng Yeli Yuan Long Yu Yanliang Guo Guangbing Yang Xia Ju Jia Sun Zhenli Hui 2020Acta Oceanologica Sinica2020,39,11:3
6Impact of warm mesoscale eddy on tropical cyclone intensity显示文摘The spatial-temporal patterns of tropical cyclone(TC) intensity changes caused by the warm ocean mesoscale eddy(WOME) distribution are evaluated using two sets of idealized numerical experiments. The results show that the TC was intensified and weakened when a WOME was close to and far away from the TC center, respectively.The area where the WOME enhanced(weakened) TC intensity is called the inner(outer) area in this study.Amplitudes of the enhancement and weakening caused by the WOME in the inner and outer area decreased and increased over time, while the ranges of the inner and outer area diminished and expanded, respectively. The WOME in the inner area strengthened the secondary circulation of the TC, increased heat fluxes, strengthened the symmetry, and weakened the outer spiral rainband, which enhanced TC intensity. The effect was opposite if the WOME was in the outer area, and it weakened the TC intensity. The idealized simulation employed a stationary TC, and thus the results may only be applied to TCs with slow propagation. 7Existence, morphology and structure of the Yellow Sea Warm Current Branch approaching waters offshore Qingdao, China显示文摘In this study, we focused on full-region cruise survey data, near-bottom continuous mooring observations and sea surface wind products from the western South Yellow Sea in winter; after ensuring the data reliability and accuracy, we processed and analyzed the data. Image resolution experiments were carried out to determine the lowest recognition resolutions for all image types, which represent the resolution characteristics of the data. The existence of a warm water tongue originating from the Yellow Sea Warm Current(YSWC) that approached waters offshore Qingdao was confirmed. For the first time, a high salinity water tongue, corresponding to the warm water tongue, was described and found to be more representative of the YSWC branch path. This warm tongue is a sign of the branch originating from the YSWC, which we defined as the Yellow Sea Warm Current Branch approaching waters offshore Qingdao(YSWC-QDB). The pattern of the warm and salty water tongues showed remarkable rear, branching middle, shrinking neck and expanding top regions. These patterns showed a temporal feature of the tongues, and were the result of multi-temporal branches in front of the YSWC main section as well as the YSWC-QDB crossing the southwestward path of the extension of the North Shandong Coastal Current flowing along the southeast coast of the Shandong Peninsula(NSCC-SESE). Analysis using mooring data at a sensitive and representative station also showed the existence of the YSWC-QDB. It is a probabilistic event that manifests as a northwestward flow that decreases gradually from the bottom to the surface in the early cold air transit stage and consistent in the whole water column profile in the later stage. It varies quasi-periodically with weather processes. It also transports some of the YSWC water stored in the entrance area of the Bohai and Yellow seas under winter wind conditions to the western South Yellow Sea as a compensatory current. This current, caused by northerly winds, especially northwest winds and obstruction of the NSCC-SESE, was present, and strong water reduction and compensation caused significant residual sea level oscillations. The compensatory current, if caused by strong northwest wind,began to appear when its direction was opposite to the wind direction. In addition, confirmation of the YSWC-QDB provides an oceanographic basis for the short cooling time and rapid warming in the Qingdao area in winter. This research provides a basis for further studies of the YSWC-QDB at high spatial and temporal resolutions using large sea surface datasets. 8Ground-layer adaptive optics for the New Vacuum Solar Telescope:Instrument description and first results显示文摘Ground-layer adaptive optics(GLAO)has shown its potential for use in solar observation owing to its wide field-of-view(FOV)correction.A high-order GLAO system that consists of a multiple direction Shack-Hartmann wavefront sensor(WFS),a realtime controller with a multi-CPU processor,and a 151-element deformable mirror was developed for the 1-m New Vacuum Solar Telescope at Yunnan Observatories,Chinese Academy of Sciences.A hexagonal microlens with 9×8 subapertures is employed in the WFS.The detection FOV is 42′′×37′′,in which 9(3×3)guide regions are extracted for multiple direction wavefront sensing with a frame rate of up to 2200 Hz.To our knowledge,this is the first professional solar GLAO system used as a regularly operating instrument for scientific observations.Its installation and adjustment were performed in the summer of 2021.In this article,a detailed account of the GLAO system and its first light results and a comprehensive analysis of the performance of the GLAO system are provided.The results show that this system can effectively improve the imaging quality after compensating for the wavefront aberration due to ground-layer turbulence.Lanqiang Zhang Hua Bao Xuejun Rao Youming Guo Libo Zhong Xian Ran Nanfei Yan Jinsheng Yang Cheng Wang Jiahui Zhou Ying Yang Yunyao Long Xinlong Fan Zhongyi Feng Donghong Chen Changhui Rao 2023Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2023,66,6:1
9Circulation and Heat Flux along the Western Boundary of the North Pacific显示文摘On the basis of the conductivity temperature depth(CTD)observation data off the coast of the Philippines(7.5°–18°N,130°E–the east coast of the Philippines)in the fall of 2005,the water mass distribution,geostrophic flow field,and heat budget are examined.Four water masses are present:the North Pacific Tropical Surface Water,the North Pacific Sub-surface Water,the North Pacific Intermediate Water,and the Antarctic Intermediate Water(AAIW).The previous three corresponded with the North Equatorial Current(NEC),the Kuroshio Current(KC),and the Mindanao Current(MC),respectively.AAIW is the source of the Mindanao Undercurrent.The mass transport of NEC,KC,and MC is 58.7,15,and 27.95Sv,respectively(relative to 1500db).NEC can be balanced by the transport across the whole transect 18°N(31.81 Sv)and 7.5°N(26.11 Sv)but not simply by KC and MC.Direct calculation is used to study the heat flux.In sum,1.45PW heat is transported outwards the observed region,which is much more than that released from the ocean to the air at the surface(0.05PW).The net heat lost decreased the water temperature by 0.75℃each month on average,and the trend agreed well with the SST change.Vertically,the heat transported by the currents is mainly completed in the upper 500 m.JU Xia MA Chao XIONG Xuejun GUO Yanliang and YU Long 2020Journal of Ocean University of China2020,19,1:0
10Representation theorem and viability property for multidimensional BSDEs and their applications显示文摘The representation theorem and the viability property for backward stochastic differential equations(BSDEs)require further exploration,given their widespread use in both theory and practical applications.In this study,we present a positive answer to the long-standing open question of whether the representation theorem still holds in the L^(2)-sense under the standard assumptions of square integrability and Lipschitzian continuity on the generators of BSDEs.In the process,the multidimensional case is considered.Subsequently,based on the representation theorem,we obtain a necessary and sufficient condition for the viability property of the BSDEs under standard conditions on the generators.This removes the requirement for the generator to possess the properties of stronger integrability and continuity with respect to time variables.As an application of these results,we conduct various types of comparisons and converse comparisons for the solutions of multidimensional BSDEs,and several properties of the multidimensional g-expectation are obtained.Xuejun Shi Long Jiang 2023Probability, Uncertainty and Quantitative Risk2023,8,3:0
11Validation and error analysis of wave-modifi ed ocean surface currents in the northwestern Pacifi c Ocean显示文摘By incorporating the wave-induced Coriolis-Stokes forcing into the classical Ekman layer,the wave-modifi ed ocean surface currents in the northwestern Pacifi c Ocean were estimated.Thus,the ocean surface currents are the combination of classical Ekman current from the cross-calibrated multi-platform(CCMP)wind speed,geostrophic current from the mean absolute dynamic topography(MADT),and wave-induced current based on the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts(ECMWF)Interim Re-Analysis(ERA-Interim)surface wave datasets.Weight functions are introduced in the Ekman current formulation as well.Comparisons with in-situ data from Lagrangian drifters in the study area and Kuroshio Extension Observatory(KEO)observations at 32.3°N,144.6°E,and 15-m depth indicate that wave-modifi ed ocean surface currents provide accurate time means of zonal and meridional currents in the northwestern Pacifi c Ocean.Result shows that the wave-modifi ed currents are quite consistent with the Lagrangian drifter observations for the period 1993-2017 in the deep ocean.The correlation(root mean square error,RMSE)is 0.96(1.45 cm/s)for the zonal component and 0.90(1.07 cm/s)for the meridional component.However,wave-modifi ed currents underestimate the Lagrangian drifter velocity in strong current and some off shore regions,especially in the regions along the Japan coast and the southeastern Mindanao.What’s more,the wave-modifi ed currents overestimate the pure Eulerian KEO current which does not consider the impact of waves,and the zonal(meridional)correlation and RMSE are 0.95(0.90)and 11.25 cm/s(12.05 cm/s)respectively.These comparisons demonstrate that our wave-modifi ed ocean surface currents have high precision and can describe the real-world ocean in the northwestern Pacifi c Ocean accurately and intuitively,which can provide important routes to calculate ocean surface currents on large spatial scales.Zhenli HUI Ying LI Jia SUN Long YU Xia JU Xuejun XIONG 2022Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2022,40,4:0
12Carbon matrix/SiNWs heterogeneous block as improved reversible anodes material for lithium ion batteries显示文摘A novel carbon matrix/silicon nanowires(SiNWs) heterogeneous block was successfully produced by dispersing SiNWs into templated carbon matrix via a modified evaporation induced self-assembly method. The heterogeneous block was determined by X-ray diffraction, Raman spectra and scanning electron microscopy. As an anode material for lithium batteries, the block was investigated by cyclic voltammograms(CV), charge/discharge tests, galvanostatic cycling performance and A. C. impedance spectroscopy. We show that the SiNWs disperse into the framework, and are nicely wrapped by the carbon matrix. The heterogeneous block exhibits superior electrochemical reversibility with a high specific capacity of 529.3 mAh/g in comparison with bare SiNWs anode with merely about 52.6 mAh/g capacity retention. The block presents excellent cycle stability and capacity retention which can be attributed to the improvement of conductivity by the existence of carbon matrix and the enhancement of ability to relieve the large volume expansion of SiNWs during the lithium insertion/extraction cycle. 14Study on the longitudinal capture efficiency of a CW heavy-ion Linac显示文摘Purpose The continuous-wave(CW)linear accelerator,SSC-Linac,has been put into operation successfully as the new injector of Separate Sector Cyclotron(SSC)for Heavy Ion Research Facility in Lanzhou(HIRFL).The SSC-Linac is operated at the frequency of 53.667 MHz,which is the four times of the SSC operating frequency.In order to improve the longitudinal capture efficiency and increase the beam current extracted from the SSC,an independent multi-harmonics buncher(MHB)operating at a fundamental frequency of 13.417 MHz had been designed and manufactured.Method This buncher adopts the dual-gap structure and sawtooth waveform is generated by multi-harmonics synthetized technology.Beam dynamics simulation with MHB was carried out and discussed in this paper.Furthermore,the beam commissioning using 84Kr14+had been performed on SSC-Linac.Results and conclusion The measured maximum capture efficiency 86.5%was obtained,which was well agreed with the simulation results.Due to the successful commissioning of MHB and the outstanding-performance of SSC-Linac,the extracted beam current from SSC has been improved one order of magnitude higher than before.Qiyu Kong Xuejun Yin Zhongshan Li Peng Jin Heng Du Xiaoni Li Zheng Liu Youjin Yuan Jiawen Xia Jiancheng Yang Weiqing Yang Zhe Xu Junxia Wu Yong Zhang Long Jing 2022Radiation Detection Technology and Methods2022,6,3:0

16Thermodynamic analysis on direct air capture for building air condition system:Balance between adsorbent and refrigerant显示文摘Direct air capture(DAC)is one of the most potential technologies to mitigate CO_(2) emission.Adsorption technol-ogy is recognized as a promising CO_(2) capture method in view of its desirable characteristics including reusability of adsorbents and low capital investment.To further improve thermal performance,evaporation/condensation heat of vapor compression refrigeration(VCR)cycle in air condition system of buildings is adopted for adsorp-tion/desorption process of DAC.Thermal performance of a 4-step temperature swing adsorption process(TSA)is analyzed at various adsorption/desorption temperatures by using different adsorbents.Analysis on Coefficient of Performance(COP)of VCR cycle is also conducted in search for a balance between adsorbent and refrigerant.Taking both real working capacity and COP into consideration,Mg-MOF-74&R134a is the best choice for more amounts of CO_(2).Real working capacity of Mg-MOF-74 is up to 0.38 mol•kg−1 at 70°C,which is twice as much as that of zeolite 13X.While zeolite 13X&R134a shows the best performance of two cycles in view of exergy efficiency and COP,which could reach 81.9%and 7.21,respectively,at 35°C.These matches will provide some guidelines for the practical application of the combination of DAC with heating,ventilation and air conditioning(HVAC).Ying Ji Jinyuan Yong Wei Liu Xuejun Zhang Long Jiang 2023Energy and Built Environment2023,4,4:0
17Performance and mechanism of carbamazepine removal by FeS-S_(2)O_(8)^(2–)process:experimental investigation and DFT calculations显示文摘As persulfate(S_(2)O_(8)^(2-))is being increasingly used as an alternative oxidizing agent,developing lowcost and eco-friendly catalysts for efficient S_(2)O_(8)^(2-)activation is potentially useful for the treatment of wastewater containing refractory organic pollutant.In this study,the degradative features and mechanisms of carbamazepine(CBZ)were systematically investigated in a novel FeS-S_(2)O_(8)^(2-)process under near-neutral conditions.The results exhibited that CBZ can be effectively eliminated by the FeS-S_(2)O_(8)^(2-)process and the optimal conditions were:250 mg/L FeS,0.5 mmol/L S_(2)O_(8)^(2-),and pH=6.0.The existence of Cl^(−)(1 and 50 mmol/L)has little influence on the CBZ elimination,while both HCO_(3)^(−) and HPO_(4)^(2−)(1 and 50 mmol/L)significantly suppressed the CBZ removal in the FeS-S_(2)O_(8)^(2-)process.CBZ could be degraded via a radical mechanism in the FeS-S_(2)O_(8)^(2-)process,the working radical species(i.e.,SO_(4)•−and•OH)were efficiently formed via the promoted decomposition of S_(2)O_(8)^(2-)by the surface Fe2+on the FeS and the dissolved ferrous ions in solution.Based on the identified oxidized products and Fukui index calculations,a possible degradation pathway of CBZ was speculated.More importantly,a two-stage oxidation mechanism of CBZ elimination was speculated in the FeS-S_(2)O_(8)^(2-)process,the activation of S_(2)O_(8)^(2-)by the surface-active Fe(II)of FeS dominated in the initial 5 min,while homogeneous oxidation reactions played more essential parts than others in the following reaction stage(5–60 min).Overall,this study demonstrated that the FeS-S_(2)O_(8)^(2-)process is capable of removing CBZ from water efficiently.Xuejun Long Jun Luo Zhenxing Zhong Yanxu Zhu Chunjie Zhang Jun Wan Haiyan Zhou Beiping Zhang Dongsheng Xia 2023Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2023,17,9:0
