1Potential influence of water level changes on energy flows in a lake food web显示文摘Large seasonal water-level fluctuations may influence isotopic signatures of primary producers and the types and amounts of these potential food sources accessible to aquatic fauna of Poyang Lake,the largest freshwater lake in China.In this study,the isotopic signatures of primary producers and consumers were determined,stable carbon and nitrogen isotope analysis and mixing models were combined to investigate the influence of water levels on the diet and isotopic composition of Poyang Lake fish and invertebrates.Five potential food sources (seston,benthic organic matter,aquatic macrophytes,attached algae,and terrestrial plants),4 species of invertebrates,and 10 species of fish were collected from the lake area during dry and wet seasons between January 2009 and April 2010.The δ 13C values of invertebrates and most fish were within the range of δ 13C values of the potential food sources for both seasons.The δ 13C values of invertebrates and most fish were lower in the dry season than in the wet season,whereas the δ 15N values exhibited different patterns for different species.Mixing models indicated that the most important food sources for common lake fauna were seston in the dry season and aquatic macrophytes and terrestrial plants in the wet season.The fauna were more omnivorous in the wet season than in the dry season.The food web dynamics of Poyang Lake are strongly influenced by changes in the abundance and accessibility of different basal food sources that occur because of seasonal flood pulses.The trophic links within the aquatic communities of Poyang Lake are modified by water-level fluctuations.WANG YuYu YU XiuBo LI WenHua XU Jun CHEN YuWei FAN Na 2011Chinese Science Bulletin2011,56,26:11
2Waste oyster shell as a kind of active filler to treat the combined wastewater at an estuary显示文摘Estuaries have been described as one of the most difcult environments on Earth. It is difcult to know how to treat the combined wastewater in tidal rivers at the estuary, where the situation is very diferent from ordinary fresh water rivers. Waste oyster shell was used as the active filler in this study in a bio-contact oxidation tank to treat the combined wastewater at the Fengtang Tidal River. With a middle-experimental scale of 360 m3/day, the average removal efciency of COD, BOD, NH3-N, TP and TSS was 80.05%, 85.02%,86.59%, 50.58% and 85.32%, respectively, in this bio-contact oxidation process. The living microbes in the biofilms on the waste oyster shell in this bio-contact oxidation tank, which were mainly composed of zoogloea, protozoa and micro-metazoa species, revealed that waste oyster shell as the filler was suitable material for combined wastewater degradation. This treatment method using waste oyster shell as active filler was then applied in a mangrove demonstration area for water quality improvement near the experiment area, with a treatment volume of 5 × 103m3/day. Another project was also successfully applied in a constructed wetland, with a wastewater treatment volume of 1 × 103m3/day. 3A blind quantum signature protocol using the GHZ states显示文摘Recently,some blind quantum signature(BQS) protocols have been proposed.But the previous schemes have security and efficiency problems.Based on the entangled Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger(GHZ) states,a new weak BQS protocol is proposed.Compared with some existing schemes,our protocol has 100% efficiency.Besides,the protocol is simple and easy to implement.The security of the protocol is guaranteed by the correlation of the GHZ particles held by each participant.In our protocol,the signatory is kept blind from the content of the message.According to the security analysis,the signatory cannot disavowal his/her signature while the signature cannot be forged by others.WANG MingMing CHEN XiuBo YANG YiXian 2013Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2013,56,9:10
4Accumulation and speciation of selenium in Cardamine sp. in Yutangba Se Mining Field, Enshi, China显示文摘A naturally selenium-accumulating Cardamine sp. is growing in Yutangba Selenium Mining Field, Enshi area, Hubei Province, China, where the geochemical environment is selenium-enriched and endemic selenosis ever occurred in humans. The present study investigated the characteristics of accumulation, speciation and quantity of selenium in Cardamine sp. with HPLC-ICP-MS. Results show that Cardamine sp. can accumulate Se at most 1427 mg/kg in seedling leaves. Even after the biomass incensement of growing up, the plant still could accumulate Se up to several hundred of mg/kg in concentration. Moreover, the biomass enrichment coefficient(BEC) of Se is exceedingly high, in the seedling leaves mostly, higher than 50 mg/kg; in the range of 43.7–68 mg/kg; and the lowest value is higher than 3 mg/kg in mature fronds. Se is present in the plant predominantly in form of Se Cys2 with the highest concentration in seeds; up to 1081 mg/kg as Se. In contrast, Se Cys2 levels are low during early growth period; they are 136.1 mg/kg as Se in seedling fronds and 39.4 mg/kg as Se in mature fronds, respectively. Se Met concentration is comparatively low; 10.6 mg/kg as Se in seedling frond and 5.3 mg/kg as Se in half mature fronds, respectively. This indicates that Cardamine sp. is extremely efficient in extracting Se from soil and translocating it into its above-ground biomass. Therefore, Cardamine sp., found in Yutangba Se Mining Field may be a new Se hyperaccumulator. It is still uncertain whether the Se-accumulation or detoxification of Cardamine sp. happens through the pathway of Se Cys methylated to form Se-methylseleno Cys or through the formation of Se-carboxymethyl- selenohomocysteine. 5Effect of Water Level Fluctuations on Wintering Goose Abundance in Poyang Lake Wetlands of China显示文摘The Poyang Lake is a Ramsar site and is the important over-wintering site for migratory waterbirds along the East Asian–Australasian Fly way. Examining the effects of water level fluctuations on waterbird abundance and analyzing the influencing mechanism is critical to waterbird protection in the context of hydrological alteration. In this study, the effect of water level regime on wintering goose abundance was examined and the influencing mechanism was interpreted. Synchronous waterbirds survey data, hydrological data, Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer-Normalized Difference Vegetation Index(MODIS-NDVI) data and habitat data derived from Landsat TM/ETM data and HJ/CCD data were combined. The satellite-derived Green Wave Index(GWI) based on MODIS-NDVI dataset was applied to detect changes in goose food resources. It was found that habitat size and vegetation conditions are key factors determining goose abundance. Geese numbers were positively correlated with habitat area, while intermediate range of vegetation productivity might benefit the goose abundance. Water level affects goose abundance by changing available habitat areas and vegetation conditions. We suggested that matching hydrological regime and exposed meadows time to wintering geese dynamics was crucial in the Poyang Lake wetlands. 6Tuning Superhydrophobic Materials with Negative Surface Energy Domains显示文摘Hydrophobic/superhydrophobic materials with intrinsic water repellence are highly desirable in engineering fields including antiicing in aerocrafts,antidrag and anticorrosion in ships,and antifog and self-cleaning in optical lenses,screen,mirrors,and windows.However,superhydrophobic material should have small surface energy(SE)and a micro/nanosurface structure which can reduce solid-liquid contact significantly.The low SE is generally found in organic materials with inferior mechanical properties that is undesirable in engineering.Intriguingly,previous theoretical calculations have predicted a negative SE forθ-alumina(θ-Al_(2)O_(3)),which inspires us to use it as a superhydrophobic material.Here,we report the experimental evidence of the small/negative SE ofθ-Al_(2)O_(3) and aθ-Al_(2)O_(3)-based superhydrophobic coating prepared by one-step scalable plasma arcing oxidation.The superhydrophobic coating has complete ceramic and desired micro/nanostructure and therefore exhibits excellent aging resistance,wear resistance,corrosion resistance,high-temperature tolerance,and burning resistance.Owing to the rarity of the small/negative SE in inorganic materials,the concept to reduce SE byθ-Al_(2)O_(3) may foster a blowout to develop robust superhydrophobicity by complete inorganic materials.Zhongzhen Wu Liangliang Liu Shunning Li Shunping Ji Pinghu Chen Suihan Cui Zhengyong Ma Yuchang Weng Qian Huang Zhongcan Wu Hao Wu Yuan Lin Ricky KYFu Hai Lin Xiubo Tian Paul KChu Feng Pan 2019Research2019,,1:6
7High-efficiency quantum steganography based on the tensor product of Bell states显示文摘In this paper,we first propose a hidden rule among the secure message,the initial tensor product of two Bell states and the final tensor product when respectively applying local unitary transformations to the first particle of the two initial Bell states,and then present a high-efficiency quantum steganography protocol under the control of the hidden rule.In the proposed quantum steganography scheme,a hidden channel is established to transfer a secret message within any quantum secure direct communication(QSDC) scheme that is based on 2-level quantum states and unitary transformations.The secret message hiding/unhiding process is linked with the QSDC process only by unitary transformations.To accurately describe the capacity of a steganography scheme,a quantitative measure,named embedding efficiency,is introduced in this paper.The performance analysis shows that the proposed steganography scheme achieves a high efficiency as well as a good imperceptibility.Moreover,it is shown that this scheme can resist all serious attacks including the intercept-resend attack,measurement-resend attack,auxiliary particle attack and even the Denial of Service attack.To improve the efficiency of the proposed scheme,the hidden rule is extended based on the tensor product of multiple Bell states.XU ShuJiang CHEN XiuBo NIU XinXin YANG YiXian 2013Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2013,56,9:6
8Quantum network communication: a discrete-time quantum-walk approach显示文摘We study the problem of quantum multi-unicast communication over the butterfly network in a quantum-walk architecture, where multiple arbitrary single-qubit states are transmitted simultaneously between multiple source-sink pairs. Here, by introducing quantum walks, we demonstrate a quantum multiunicast communication scheme over the butterfly network and the inverted crown network, respectively,where the arbitrary single-qubit states can be efficiently transferred with both the probability and the state fidelity one. The presented result concerns only the butterfly network and the inverted crown network, but our techniques can be applied to a more general graph. 10Quantum network coding for multi-unicast problem based on 2D and 3D cluster states显示文摘We mainly consider quantum multi-unicast problem over directed acyclic network, where each source wishes to transmit an independent message to its target via bottleneck channel. Taking the advantage of global entanglement state 2D and 3D cluster states, these problems can be solved efficiently. At first, a universal scheme for the generation of resource states among distant communication nodes is provided. The corresponding between cluster and bigraph leads to a constant temporal resource cost. Furthermore, a new approach based on stabilizer formalism to analyze the solvability of several underlying quantum multi-unicast networks is presented. It is found that the solvability closely depends on the choice of stabilizer generators for a given cluster state. And then, with the designed measurement basis and parallel measurement on intermediate nodes, we propose optimal protocols for these multi-unicast sessions. 13Synergic catalytic effect of Ti hydride and Nb nanoparticles for improving hydrogenation and dehydrogenation kinetics of Mg-based nanocomposite显示文摘The Mg-9.3 wt%(TiH_(1.971)-TiH)-0.7 wt% Nb nanocomposite has been synthesized by hydrogen plasma-metal reaction(HPMR) approach to enhance the hydrogen sorption kinetics of Mg at moderate temperatures by providing nanosizing effect of increasing H 'diffusion channels' and adding transition metallic catalysts. The Mg nanoparticles(NPs) were in hexagonal shape range from 50 to 350 nm and the average size of the NPs was 177 nm. The small spherical TiH_(1.971), TiH and Nb NPs of about 25 nm uniformly decorated on the surface of the big Mg NPs. The Mg-TiH_(1.971)-TiH-Nb nanocomposite could quickly absorb 5.6 wt% H_2 within 5 min at 573 K and 4.5 wt% H_2 within 5 min at 523 K, whereas the pure Mg prepared by HPMR could only absorb 4 and 1.5 wt% H_2 at the same temperatures. TiH_(1.971), TiH and Nb NPs transformed into TiH_2 and Nb H during hydrogenation and recovered after dehydrogenation process. The apparent activation energies of the nanocomposite for hydrogenation and dehydrogenation were 45.0 and 50.7 kJ mol^(-1), which are much smaller than those of pure Mg NPs, 123.8 and 127.7 kJ mol^(-1).
