| 1 | Patterns of antiemetic prophylaxis for chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting in China显示文摘Background: Few studies have attempted to evaluate the use of antiemetic therapy for chemotherapyinduced nausea and vomiting(CINV) at a national level in China or to assess how treatment regimens adhere to current guidelines. Methods: We searched the China Health Insurance Research Association(CHIRA) Database to identify patients with cancer who were ≥18 years old and received either moderately or highly emetogenic chemotherapy(MEC and HEC, respectively) between 2008 and 2012. Patients' characteristics as well as usage of specific antiemetic regimens were analyzed using descriptive statistics. Results: Of the 14,548 patients included in the study, 6,477 received HEC while 8,071 were treated with MEC. Approximately 89.9% used antiemetics prophylactically to prevent acute CINV and 71.5% for delayed CINV while 9.0% were prescribed antiemetics as rescue therapy. A significantly lower proportion of patients treated with HEC received prophylactic antiemetic therapy for delayed CINV as compared to those treated with MEC(59.4% vs. 81.3%; P<0.001). The HEC group had a slightly lower proportion of patients using a mixed regimen containing a 5-HT3 antagonist to prevent both acute and delayed CINV than the MEC group(P≤0.012); however, a higher proportion received a mixed regimen containing corticosteroids(P≤0.007). Although more than half of the patients in the HEC group took three antiemetics to prevent acute and delayed CINV, these rates were significantly lower than those of the MEC group(both P<0.001). Finally, analysis of the regimens used revealed that there is over-utilization of drugs within the same class of antiemetic. | 2 | Retrieval of global terrestrial solar-induced chlorophyll fluorescence from TanSat satellite显示文摘The first Chinese Carbon Dioxide Observation Satellite Mission(TanSat), which was launched on December 21, 2016, is intended to measure atmospheric CO_2 concentration.The high spectral resolution(0.044 nm) and high SNR(360 at 15.2 mW m^(-1) sr^(-1) nm^(-1)) measurements in the region of the O_2-A band of the Atmospheric Carbon dioxide Grating Spectroradiometer(AGCS) module onboard TanSat make it possible to retrieve solar-induced chlorophyll fluorescence(SIF) from TanSat observations at the global scale.This paper aims to explore the potential of the TanSat data for global SIF retrieval.A singular vector decomposition(SVD) statistical method was employed to retrieve SIF using radiance over a micro spectral window(~2 nm) around the Fe Fraunhofer lines(centered at 758.8 nm).The global SIF at 758.8 nm was successfully retrieved with a low residual error of 0.03 mW m^(-1) sr^(-1) nm^(-1).The results show that the spatial and temporal patterns of the retrieved SIF agree well with the global terrestrial vegetation pattern.The monthly SIF products retrieved from the TanSat data were compared with other remote sensing datasets, including OCO-2 SIF, MODIS NDVI, EVI and GPP.The overall consistency between TanSat and OCO-2 SIF products(R^2= 0.86) and the consistency of the spatial patterns and temporal variations between the TanSat SIF and MODIS vegetation indices and GPP enhance our confidence in the potential and feasibility of TanSat data for SIF retrieval.TanSat, therefore, provides a new opportunity for global sampling of SIF at fine spatial resolution(2 km × 2 km), thus improving photosynthesis observations from space. | Shanshan Du Liangyun Liu Xinjie Liu Xiao Zhang Xingying Zhang Yanmeng Bi Lianchong Zhang | 2018 | Science Bulletin2018,63,22: | 29 |
| 3 | Drug resistance mechanisms and novel drug targets for tuberculosis therapy显示文摘Drug-resistant tuberculosis(TB) poses a significant challenge to the successful treatment and control of TB worldwide.Resistance to anti-TB drugs has existed since the beginning of the chemotherapy era.New insights into the resistant mechanisms of anti-TB drugs have been provided.Better understanding of drug resistance mechanisms helps in the development of new tools for the rapid diagnosis of drugresistant TB.There is also a pressing need in the development of new drugs with novel targets to improve the current treatment of TB and to prevent the emergence of drug resistance in Mycobacterium tuberculosis.This review summarizes the anti-TB drug resistance mechanisms,furnishes some possible novel drug targets in the development of new agents for TB therapy and discusses the usefulness using known targets to develop new anti-TB drugs.Whole genome sequencing is currently an advanced technology to uncover drug resistance mechanisms in M.tuberculosis.However,further research is required to unravel the significance of some newly discovered gene mutations in their contribution to drug resistance. | Md Mahmudul Islam H.M. | 5 | Development of high-temperature superconducting filters operating at temperatures above 90 K显示文摘This paper represents the development of a high temperature superconducting (HTS) filter, the highest operating temperature of which is up to 93 K. The filter is designed for S band with 4% fractional bandwidth and fabricated using thallium-barium-calcium-copper oxide (Tl2Ba2CaCu2O8) thin films. At 93 K, the measurements of the filter show that the insertion loss in the passband is less than 0.22 dB, the return loss is better than 20 dB, and the out-of-band rejection is more than 80 dB. The analysis on the characteristics of the filter operating at different temperatures shows that the filter can work well at temperatures around 90 K. The temperature of 93 K is the highest among the previous reports for HTS filters. | 7 | Folate receptor-mediated boron-10 containing carbon nanoparticles as potential delivery vehicles for boron neutron capture therapy of nonfunctional pituitary adenomas显示文摘Invasive nonfunctional pituitary adenomas(NFPAs) are difficult to completely resect and often develop tumor recurrence after initial surgery.Currently,no medications are clinically effective in the control of NFPA.Although radiation therapy and radiosurgery are useful to prevent tumor regrowth,they are frequently withheld because of severe complications.Boron neutron capture therapy(BNCT) is a binary radiotherapy that selectively and maximally damages tumor cells without harming the surrounding normal tissue.Folate receptor(FR)-targeted boron-10 containing carbon nanoparticles is a novel boron delivery agent that can be selectively taken up by FR-expressing cells via FR-mediated endocytosis.In this study,FR-targeted boron-10 containing carbon nanoparticles were selectively taken up by NFPAs cells expressing FR but not other types of non-FR expressing pituitary adenomas.After incubation with boron-10 containing carbon nanoparticles and following irradiation with thermal neutrons,the cell viability of NFPAs was significantly decreased,while apoptotic cells were simultaneously increased.However,cells administered the same dose of FR-targeted boron-10 containing carbon nanoparticles without neutron irradiation or received the same neutron irradiation alone did not show significant decrease in cell viability or increase in apoptotic cells.The expression of Bcl-2 was down-regulated and the expression of Bax was up-regulated in NFPAs after treatment with FR-mediated BNCT.In conclusion,FR-targeted boron-10 containing carbon nanoparticles may be an ideal delivery system of boron to NFPAs cells for BNCT.Furthermore,our study also provides a novel insight into therapeutic strategies for invasive NFPA refractory to conventional therapy,while exploring these new applications of BNCT for tumors,especially benign tumors. | DAI CongXin CAI Feng HWANG Kuo Chu ZHOU YongMao ZHANG ZiZhu LIU XiaoHai MA SiHai YANG YaKun YAO Yong FENG Ming BAO XinJie LI GuiLin WEI JunJi JIAO YongHui WEI ZhenQing MA WenBin WANG RenZhi | 2013 | Science China(Life Sciences)2013,56,2: | 8 |
| 8 | Inhibition of growth and metastasis of triple-negative breast cancer targeted by Traditional Chinese Medicine Tubeimu in orthotopic mice models显示文摘Objective: Triple-negative breast cancer(TNBC) is highly invasive and metastatic, which is in urgent need of transformative therapeutics. Tubeimu(TBM), the rhizome of Bolbostemma paniculatum(Maxim.) Franquet, is one of the Chinese medicinal herbs used for breast diseases since the ancient times. The present study evaluated the efficacy, especially the anti-metastatic effects of the dichloromethane extract of Tubeimu(ETBM) on TNBC orthotopic mouse models and cell lines.Methods: We applied real-time imaging on florescent orthotopic TNBC mice model and tested cell migration and invasion abilities with MDA-MB-231 cell line. Digital gene expression sequencing was performed and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes(KEGG) analysis applied to explore the pathways influenced by ETBM.Moreover, quantitative real-time polymerase chain reactions(q RT-PCR) and Western blot were delivered to confirm the gene expression changes.Results: ETBM exhibited noticeable control on tumor metastasis and growth of TNBC tumors with no obvious toxicity. In compliance with this, it also showed inhibition of cell migration and invasion in vitro. | 9 | Influence of Temperature on Stacking Fault Energy and Creep Mechanism of a Single Crystal Nickel-based Superalloy显示文摘The influence of temperatures on the stacking fault energies and deformation mechanism of a Recontaining single crystal nickel-based superalloy during creep at elevated temperatures was investigated by means of calculating the stacking fault energy of alloy, measuring creep properties and performing contrast analysis of dislocation configuration. The results show that the alloy at 760 °C possesses lower stacking fault energy, and the stacking fault of alloy increases with increasing temperature. The deformation mechanism of alloy during creep at 760 °C is γ′ phase sheared by <110> super-dislocations, which may be decomposed to form the configuration of Shockley partials plus super-lattice intrinsic stacking fault, while the deformation mechanism of alloy during creep at 1070 °C is the screw or edge superdislocations shearing into the rafted γ′ phase. But during creep at 760 and 980 °C, some superdislocations shearing into γ′ phase may cross-slip from the {111} to {100} planes to form the K–W locks with non-plane core structure, which may restrain the dislocations slipping to enhance the creep resistance of alloy at high temperature. | 10 | Mean pulse analysis and spectral character study of pulsar PSR B2111+46显示文摘PSR B2111+46 is studied and analyzed by the method of Gaussian fit separation of the average profile (GFSAP). It has been observed at six frequencies,408, 610, 925, 1408, 1640, and 4850 MHz, serving as an excellent sample for a multifrequency analysis. Applying the GFSAP method we find that PSR B2111+46 hasfive components in its profile at all six frequencies. The result supports Rankin's 'core-double cone' model in emission region. On the basis of component decomposition, we discuss the geometrical structure of core, inner cone and outer cone, the emission beam radius, the emission region altitude and the geometry symmetry. We also examine the spectrum characteristics of core, inner cone and outercone. | 11 | Effect of modified Sanhuang Xiexin Tang plus additional herbs combined with "standard triple therapy" on Helicobacter pylori eradication显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To determine the effectiveness of modified Sanhuang Xiexin Tang(SHXXT) plus additional herbs(MSAH) combined with 'standard triple therapy' for eradication of Helicobacter pylori(H. pylori) and amelioration of related symptoms in comparison with standard triple and standard quadruple therapies.METHODS: From October 2015 to May 2016, we recruited patients with dyspepsia symptoms confirmed to have H. pylori infection by the13 C urea breath test in our outpatient clinic. Patients were randomly divided into three treatment groups: Nexium? standard triple therapy(group A; EAC); Nexium? standard quadruple therapy(group B; EBAC);or Nexium? standard triple therapy combined with MSAH(group C; EAC+MSAH). Comparisons of H. pylori eradication and symptom amelioration rates were made among the three groups at 2 or 6 weeks after group assignment.RESULTS: There was no difference in H. pylori eradi-cation rates between groups B(EBAC) and C(EAC+MSAH)(P = 0.486), and eradication rates in groups B and C were significantly higher than that in group A(EAC)(PA vs B= 0.001; PA vs C= 0.003). There was no difference in the total symptom score among the groups before treatment. In all groups,the total symptom scores after treatment(2 or 6 weeks after group assignment) were significantly lower than those before treatment(P < 0.001 for all). However, group C(EAC + MSAH) demonstrated superior total symptom scores and symptom amelioration rates than groups A(EAC) and B(EBAC).Group B also demonstrated better scores and rates than group A. There was no difference in symptom amelioration rates at 2 and 6 weeks within each group.CONCLUSION: There is no difference between MSAH combined with standard triple therapy and standard quadruple therapy containing bismuth with regard to H. pylori eradication rate. | 12 | Motion Error Compensation of Multi-legged Walking Robots显示文摘Existing errors in the structure and kinematic parameters of multi-legged walking robots,the motion trajectory of robot will diverge from the ideal sports requirements in movement.Since the existing error compensation is usually used for control compensation of manipulator arm,the error compensation of multi-legged robots has seldom been explored.In order to reduce the kinematic error of robots,a motion error compensation method based on the feedforward for multi-legged mobile robots is proposed to improve motion precision of a mobile robot.The locus error of a robot body is measured,when robot moves along a given track.Error of driven joint variables is obtained by error calculation model in terms of the locus error of robot body.Error value is used to compensate driven joint variables and modify control model of robot,which can drive the robots following control model modified.The model of the relation between robot's locus errors and kinematic variables errors is set up to achieve the kinematic error compensation.On the basis of the inverse kinematics of a multi-legged walking robot,the relation between error of the motion trajectory and driven joint variables of robots is discussed.Moreover,the equation set is obtained,which expresses relation among error of driven joint variables,structure parameters and error of robot's locus.Take MiniQuad as an example,when the robot MiniQuad moves following beeline tread,motion error compensation is studied.The actual locus errors of the robot body are measured before and after compensation in the test.According to the test,variations of the actual coordinate value of the robot centroid in x-direction and z-direction are reduced more than one time.The kinematic errors of robot body are reduced effectively by the use of the motion error compensation method based on the feedforward. | WANG Liangwen CHEN Xuedong WANG Xinjie TANG Weigang SUN Yi PAN Chunmei | 2012 | Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2012,25,4: | 6 |
| 13 | HTS filter subsystem for future mobile communication system显示文摘A high-temperature superconducting(HTS) filter subsystem consisting of a 10-pole HTS filter with group delay self-equalization,a cryogenic low noise amplifier(LNA) ,and a cooling device is presented in this paper. The HTS filter has a 0.51% fractional bandwidth at 1955 MHz,simulated in Sonnet,and is fabricated using double-sided Tl2Ba2CaCu2O8 films on 0.5 mm thick LaAlO3 substrate. Measured responses show that the minimum insertion loss of the filter is 0.16 dB,and the out-of-band rejection is better than 75 dB. The slope is 27 dB MHz-1 at the low band edge and 22 dB MHz-1 at the upper band edge. The HTS filter subsystem has a gain of 19.3 dB and a noise figure(NF) of 0.8 dB. | 14 | Cloning and characterization of the gene encoding β-amyrin synthase in the glycyrrhizic acid biosynthetic pathway in Glycyrrhiza uralensis显示文摘Glycyrrhiza uralensis is considered to be one of the most important herbs in traditional Chinese medicine due to its numerous pharmacological effects particularly its ability to relieve cough and act as a mucolytic.Based on previous research,these effects are mediated by a number of active ingredients,especially glycyrrhizic acid(GA).In the present study,a gene encodingβ-amyrin synthase(β-AS)involved in GA biosynthesis in G.uralensis has been cloned and expressed in Saccharomyces cerevisiae.The cloned enzyme showed similar activity to native enzymes isolated from other Glycyrrhiza species to catalyze the conversion of 2,3-oxidosqualene intoβ-amyrin.In fact theβ-AS gene is particularly important in the GA biosynthetic pathway in G.uralensis.The complete sequence of the enzyme was determined and a phylogenetic tree based on theβ-AS gene of G.uralensis and 20 other species was created.This showed that Glycyrrhiza glabra had the closest kinship with G.uralensis.The results of this work will be useful in determining how to improve the efficacy of G.uralensis by improving its GA content and in exploring the biosynthesis of GA in vitro. | Honghao Chen Ying Liu Xiaoqin Zhang Xinjie Zhan Chunsheng Liu | 2013 | Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2013,3,6: | 5 |

| 16 | Separation of nanocolloids driven by dielectrophoresis:A molecular dynamics simulation显示文摘The nonequilibrium molecular dynamics (MD) method was used to model the nanocolloids and the solvent particles. By introducing a non-uniform electric field, colloids were polarized to have opposite polarities. Separation of colloids driven by dielectrophoresis (DEP) could be seen clearly under a strong electric field at low temperatures. Analyzing the ratio of DEP velocities of colloids to thermal velocities of neutral solvent particles showed that when the ratio was correspondingly big, collision between colloids and solvent particles would be intense, making the DEP velocity of colloids fluctuate frequently. By changing the electric field strength, it was found that the enhancement of electric field strength would quicken the separation of colloids. But when the electric field strength increased to a certain degree, the separation motion would be slow because of the strong friction resistance of the solvent particles to the colloids. | 18 | Electropolishing of NiTi for Improving Biocompatibility显示文摘A modified electrolyte (CH_3COOH-HClO_4-A-B) for electropolishing (EP) of NiTi was presented for improving the corrosion resistance and biocompatibility of the alloy.Using the proposed parameters,a homogeneous and uniform surface was obtained.Atomic force microscopy (AFM) revealed that the surface roughness (Ra) for EP sample (23.21 nm) was close to mechanical polishing (MP) sample (19.36 nm).Analysis by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) showed that Ti/Ni ratio increased from 3.1 for MP sample to 27.6 for EP sample.Measurements using potentiodynamic polarization in Hanks' solution showed that no pitting occurred for EP sample even though the applied potential increased up to 1500 mV (vs SCE),while the MP sample was broken down at 650 mV.The present study indicates that electropolishing NiTi with this modified electrolyte contributes to the improved biocompatibility of NiTi. | Wei WU Xinjie LIU Huimin HAN Dazhi YANG Shoudong LU | 2008 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2008,24,6: | 4 |
| 19 | Effects of sample width on flame spread over horizontal charring solid surfaces on a plateau显示文摘Experiments were conducted on the Tibetan Plateau to investigate the effects of sample width (W) on flame spread over horizontal charring solid surfaces. The results show that the rate of spread is influenced by the combined effects of convection heat transfer and flame radiation. Moreover, two different regimes depending on sample width were found in flame spread behavior. The rate of spread decreased with width in the convective regime (W≤3 cm) but increased in the radiative regime (W>3 cm). | 20 | Homoharringtonine synergy with oridonin in treatment of t(8;21) acute myeloid leukemia显示文摘Collaboration of c-KIT mutations with AML1-ETO (AE) has been demonstrated to induce t(8;21) acute myeloid leukemia (AML).Targeted therapies designed to eliminate AE and c-KIT oncoproteins may facilitate effective treatment of t(8;21) AML.Homoharringtonine (HHT) features activity against tumor cells harboring c-KIT mutations,whereas oridonin can induce t(8;21) AML cell apoptosis and AE cleavage.Therefore,studies should explore the efficacy of combination therapy with oridonin and HHT in t(8;21) AML.In this study,we investigated the synergistic effects and mechanism of oridonin combined with HHT in t(8;21) AML cell line and mouse model.The two drugs synergistically inhibited cell viability and induced significant mitochondrial membrane potential loss and apoptosis.Oridonin and HHT induced significant downregulation of c-KIT and its downstream signaling pathways and promoted AE cleavage.HHT increased intracellular oridonin concentration by modulating the expressions of MRP1 and MDR1,thus enhancing the effects of oridonin.The combination of oridonin and HHT prolonged t(8;21) leukemia mouse survival.In conclusion,oridonin and HHT exert synergistic effects against t(8;21) leukemia in vivo and in vitro,thereby indicating that their combination may be an effective therapy for t(8;21) leukemia. | Weina Zhang Ying Lu Tao Zhen Xinjie Chen Ming Zhang Ping Liu Xiangqin Weng Bing Chen Yueying Wang | 2019 | Frontiers of Medicine2019,13,3: | 4 |
