| 2 | Heterogeneity of Surface Heat Exchange of Slopes and Potential Drivers of the Initiation of Thaw Slump,Qinghai‑Tibet Plateau显示文摘In the mountainous permafrost area,most thaw slumps are distributed in north or northeast-facing shady slope areas.It is commonly known that there is a heterogeneity in permafrost between diferent slope aspects,but there has been a lack of detailed measured data to quantitatively evaluate their relationships,and in-depth understandings on how the slope aspects are linked to the distribution of thaw slumps.This study examined the heterogenous thermal regime,soil moisture content,and surface radiation at two slope sites with opposing aspects in a warming permafrost region on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau(QTP).The results indicate that similar air temperatures(T_(a))were monitored on the two slopes,but there were signifcant diferences in ground temperature and moisture content in the active layer from 2016 to 2021.The sunny slope exhibited a higher mean annual ground surface temperature(T_(s)),and over the fve years the mean annual temperature at the top of permafrost was 1.3–1.4℃warmer on the sunny slope than the shady slope.On the contrary,the near-surface soil moisture content was about 10–13%lower on the sunny slope(~22–27%)than the shady slope(~35–38%)during the thawing season(June–September).Radiation data indicate that signifcantly higher shortwave downward radiation(DR)appeared at the sunny slope site.However,due to the greater surface albedo,the net radiation(Rn)was lower on the sunny slope.Slope aspect also afects the ground ice content due to its infuence on ground temperature,freeze-thaw cycles,and soil moisture.Shady slopes have a shallower burial of ice-rich permafrost compared to sunny slopes.The results highlight greatly diferent near-surface ground thermal conditions at the two slope sites with diferent aspects in a mountainous permafrost region.This helps identify the slope-related causes of increasing thaw slumps and provides a basis for predicting their future development. | Xingwen Fan Wenjiao Li Xuyang Wu Miaomiao Yao Fujun Niu Zhanju Lin | 2023 | International Journal of Disaster Risk Science2023,14,4: | 0 |
| 3 | Attention-Based Multi-Scale Prediction Network for Time-Series Data显示文摘Time series data is a kind of data accumulated over time,which can describe the change of phenomenon.This kind of data reflects the degree of change of a certain thing or phenomenon.The existing technologies such as LSTM and ARIMA are better than convolutional neural network in time series prediction,but they are not enough to mine the periodicity of data.In this article,we perform periodic analysis on two types of time series data,select time metrics with high periodic characteristics,and propose a multi-scale prediction model based on the attention mechanism for the periodic trend of the data.A loss calculation method for traffic time series characteristics is proposed as well.Multiple experiments have been conducted on actual data sets.The experiments show that the method proposed in this paper has better performance than commonly used traffic prediction methods(ARIMA,LSTM,etc.)and 3%-5%increase on MAPE. | Junjie Li Lin Zhu Yong Zhang Da Guo Xingwen Xia | 2022 | China Communications2022,19,5: | 0 |
| 4 | Forward a spatio-temporal trend surface for long-term groundmeasured albedo upscaling over heterogeneous land surface显示文摘Upscaling ground albedo is challenged by the serious discrepancy between the heterogeneity of land surfaces and the small number of ground-based measurements.Conventional ground-based measurements cannot provide sufficient information on the characteristics of surface albedo at the scale of coarse pixels over heterogeneous land surfaces.One method of overcoming this problem is to introduce high-resolution albedo imagery as ancillary information for upscaling.However,due to the low frequency of updating of high-resolution albedo maps,upscaling time series of ground-based albedo measurements is difficult.This paper proposes a method that is based on the idea of conceptual universal scaling methodology for establishing a spatiotemporal trend surface using very few high-resolution images and time series of ground-based measurements for spatial-temporal upscaling of albedo.The construction of the spatiotemporal trend surface incorporates the spatial information provided by auxiliary remote sensing images and the temporal information provided by long time series of ground observations.This approach was illustrated by upscaling ground-based fine-scale albedo measurements to a coarse scale over the core study area in HiWATER.The results indicate that this method can characterize the spatiotemporal variations in surface albedo well,and the overall correlation coefficient was 0.702 during the study period. | Xiaodan Wu Jianguang Wen Qing Xiao Dongqin You Qiang Liu Xingwen Lin | 2018 | International Journal of Digital Earth2018,11,5: | 0 |
| 5 | A web-based land surface remote sensing products validation system (LAPVAS): application to albedo product显示文摘Quantitative remote sensing product(QRSP)validation is a complex process to assess the accuracy and uncertainty independently using reference data with multiple land cover types and long-time series.A web-based system named as LAnd surface remote sensing Product VAlidation system(LAPVAS)is described in this paper,which is used to implement the QRSPs validation process automatically.The LAPAVS has two subsystems,the Validation Databases Subsystem and the Accuracy Evaluation Subsystem.Three functions have been implemented by the two subsystems for a comprehensive QRSP validation:(1)a standardized processing of reference data and storage of these data in validation databases;(2)a consistent and comprehensive validation procedure to assess the QRSPs’accuracy and uncertainty;and(3)a visual process customization tool with which the users can register new validation data,host new reference data,and readjust the validation workflows for the QRSP accuracy assessment.In LAPVAS,more than 100 GB of reference data warehoused in validation databases for 13 types of QRSPs’validation.One of the key QRSPs,land surface albedo,is selected as an example to illustrate the application of LAPVAS.It is demonstrated that the LAPVAS has a good performance in the land surface remote sensing product validation. | Xingwen Lin Jianguang Wen Yong Tang Mingguo Ma Dongqin You Baocheng Dou Xiaodan Wu Xiaobo Zhu Qing Xiao Qinghuo Liu | 2018 | International Journal of Digital Earth2018,11,3: | 0 |
| 6 | lncRNA HITT Inhibits Lactate Production by Repressing PKM2 Oligomerization to Reduce Tumor Growth and Macrophage Polarization显示文摘Lactic acid acidifies the tumor microenvironment and promotes multiple critical oncogenic processes,including immune evasion.Pyruvate kinase M2(PKM2)is a dominant form of pyruvate kinase(PK)expressed in cancers that plays essential roles in metabolic reprograming and lactate production,rendering it as an attractive therapeutic target of cancer.However,the mechanism underlying PKM2 regulation remains unclear.Here,we show that long noncoding RNA(lncRNA)HIF-1αinhibitor at transcription level(HITT)inhibits lactate production in a PKM2-dependent manner.Mechanistically,it physically interacts with PKM2 mapped to a region that has been involved in both dimer(less-active)and tetramer(more-active)formation,inhibiting PKM2 oligomerization and leading to dramatic reduction of PK activity.Under glucose starvation,HITT was reduced as a result of miR-106 induction,which subsequently facilitates PKM2 oligomerization and increases vulnerability to apoptosis under glucose starvation stress.In addition,the interaction also reduces lactate secretion from cancer cells,which subsequently polarizes macrophages toward an M2-like anti-inflammatory phenotype and thus possibly contributes to immune escape in vivo.This study highlights an important role of an lncRNA in regulating PKM2 activity and also reveals a metabolic regulatory effect of PKM2 on macrophage polarization. | Kunming Zhao Xingwen Wang Dong Zhao Qingyu Lin Yi Zhang Ying Hu | 2022 | Research2022,,3: | 0 |
