1Transition of electric activity of neurons induced by chemical and electric autapses显示文摘Autapse connected to the neuron can change the electric activity of neuron. The effect of autapse on neuronal activity is often described by adding an additive forcing current along a close loop, which is described by a time-delayed feedback on the membrane potential. Neuron often responds to electric autapse forcing sensitively and quickly, while the chemical autapse changes the electric activity of neuron slowly. By applying external forcing, a shift transition of electric activity can be more easily induced by the electric autapse than the chemical autapse. Our results confirm that chemical autapse can enhance and/or suppress the transition of electric activity with excitable or inhibitory type driven by electric autapse, vice versa. It indicates that an appropriate switch-off-on for autapse can make the neuron give different types of response to external forcing. 2Role of TFF in healing of stress-induced gastric lesions显示文摘AIM: To determine the changes of pS2 and ITF of TFF expression in gastric mucosa and the effect on ulcer healing of pS2, ITF to Water-immersion and restraint stress (WRS)in rats.METHODS: Wistar rats were exposed to single or repeated WRS for 4 h every other day for up to 6 days. Gastric mucosal blood flow (GMBF) was measured by LDF-3 flowmeter and the extent of gastric mucosal lesions were evaluated grossly and histologically. Expression of pS2 and ITF mRNA was determined by RT-PCR. Immunohistochemistry was used to further detect the expression of pS2 and ITF.RESULTS: WRS applied once produced numerous gastric mucosal erosions, but the number of these lesions gradually declined and GMBF restored at 2, 4, 8 h after stress. The area of gastric mucosal lesion was reduced by 64.9 % and GMBF was increased by 89.8 % at 8 h. The healing of stress-induced ulcerations was accompanied by increased expression of pS2 (0.51±0.14 vs0.77±0.11, P<0.01) and ITF (0.022±0.001 vs 0.177±0.010, P<0.01). The results were demonstrated further by immunohistochemistry of pS2(0.95±0.11 vs1.41±0.04, P<0.01) and ITF (0.134±0.001 vs 0.253±0.01,P<0.01). With repeated WRS, adaptation to this WRS developed, the area of gastric mucosal lesions was reduced by 22.0 % after four consecutive WRS. This adaptation to WRS was accompanied by increased GMBF (being increased by 94.2 %), active cell proliferation in the neck region of gastric glands, and increased expression of pS2 (0.37±0.02 vs 0.77±0.01, P<0.01) and ITF (0.040±0.001 vs0.372±0.010, P<0.01). 3Microstructure, Mechanical Properties, Corrosion Behavior and Biocompatibility of As-Extruded Biodegradable Mg–3Sn–1Zn–0.5Mn Alloy显示文摘The microstructure evolution and mechanical properties of biodegradable Mg–3Sn–1Zn–0.5Mn alloys were investigated by the optical microscopy, X-ray diffractometer and a universal material testing machine.The corrosion and degradation behaviors were studied by potentiodynamic polarization method and immersion test in a simulated body fluid(SBF). It was found that the as-extruded Mg–3Sn–1Zn–0.5Mn alloy has the fine equiaxed grains which underwent complete dynamic recrystallization during the hot extrusion process, with the second phase particles of Mg_2Sn precipitated on the grain boundaries and inside the grains. The tensile strength and elongation of as-extruded Mg–3Sn–1Zn–0.5Mn alloys were 244 ± 3.7 MPa and 19.3% ± 1.7%, respectively. The potentiodynamic polarization curves in SBF solution indicated the better corrosion resistance of the as-extruded Mg–3Sn–1Zn–0.5Mn alloy in the SBF solution. Immersion test in the SBF solution for 720 h revealed that the corrosion rate of as-extruded Mg–3Sn–1Zn–0.5Mn alloy was nearly 4 ± 0.33 mm/year. The hemolysis rate of as-extruded Mg–3Sn–1Zn–0.5Mn alloy was lower than the safe value of 5% according to ISO 10993-4. As-extruded Mg–3Sn–1Zn–0.5Mn alloy showed good biocompatibility after being implanted into the dorsal muscle and the femoral shaft of the rabbit, and no abnormalities were found after short-term implantation. 4Transformation of surface water and groundwater and water balance in the agricultural irrigation area of the Manas River Basin,China显示文摘Calculation of the water balance is very important to relieve the pressure on water resources in arid agricultural irrigation areas.This research focused on irrigation water balance calculations in the Manas River Basin of the southern margin of the Junggar Basin of China,and aimed to analyze the groundwater level dynamic trend and response characteristics of the basin water cycle under water-saving irrigation measures.The surface water and groundwater coupling model of MIKE 11-Visual MODFLOW was used to simulate rainfall runoff in mountainous areas,and quantify the contribution of water balance components in the plain irrigation area.Convergence of the delayed watershed in the mountain area was obvious,and when the river runoff exceeded 200 m^(3)/s,the error in the runoff simulation was large.The water balance in the plain agricultural irrigation area was in a negative equilibrium state,and the difference between recharge and discharge was−2.65 billion m^(3).The evapotranspiration was 24.49 billion m^(3) under drip irrigation,accounting for only approximately 51%of the total discharge.The lateral discharge of the unsaturated and saturated aquifers was 15.38 billion m^(3),accounting for approximately 32%of the total discharge.The main reason for the groundwater decline in the irrigation area was closely related to the extraction of groundwater,because the amount of recharge and discharge in the natural state was approximately identical.The MIKE 11-Visual MODFLOW model produced accurate results,and the research method provided a new exploration technique to quantify the effect of water supply mode on the groundwater table.The model is suitable for the management of water resources in arid areas.Yang Guang He Xinlin Li Xiaolong Long Aihua Xue Lianqing 2017International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2017,10,4:10
5Organizational Modes of Severe Wind-producing Convective Systems over North China显示文摘Severe weather reports and composite radar reflectivity data from 2010–14 over North China were used to analyze the distribution of severe convective wind(SCW) events and their organizational modes of radar reflectivity. The six organizational modes for SCW events(and their proportions) were cluster cells(35.4%), squall lines(18.4%), nonlinear-shaped systems(17.8%), broken lines(11.6%), individual cells(1.2%), and bow echoes(0.5%). The peak month for both squall lines and broken lines was June, whereas it was July for the other four modes. The highest numbers of SCW events were over the mountains, which were generally associated with disorganized systems of cluster cells. In contrast, SCW associated with linear systems occurred mainly over the plains, where stations recorded an average of less than one SCW event per year. Regions with a high frequency of SCW associated with nonlinear-shaped systems also experienced many SCW events associated with squall lines. Values of convective available potential energy, precipitable water, 0–3-km shear, and 0–6-km shear, were demonstrably larger over the plains than over the mountains, which had an evident effect on the organizational modes of SCW events. 6A review of UHMWPE wear-induced osteolysis:the role for early detection of the immune response显示文摘In a world where increasing joint arthroplasties are being performed on increasingly younger patients,osteolysis as the leading cause of failure after total joint arthroplasty(TJA) has gained considerable attention.Ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene wear-induced osteolysis is the process by which prosthetic debris mechanically released from the surface of prosthetic joints induces an immune response that favors bone catabolism, resulting in loosening of prostheses with eventual failure or fracture. The immune response initiated is innate in that it is nonspecific and self-propagating, with monocytic cells and osteoclasts being the main effectors. To date, detecting disease early enough to implement effective intervention without unwanted systemic side effects has been a major barrier. These barriers can be overcome using newer in vivo imaging techniques and modules linked with fluorescence and/or chemotherapies. We discuss the pathogenesis of osteolysis, and provide discussion of the challenges with imaging and therapeutics. 8Comparison of the short-term and long-term outcomes of laparoscopic hysterectomies and of abdominal hysterectomies: a case study of 4,895 patients in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China显示文摘Background: To evaluate the short-term and long-term outcomes after laparoscopic hysterectomy(LH) compared with abdominal hysterectomy(AH) in case of benign gynecological disease. Methods: A multi-center cohort retrospective comparative study of population among 4,895 hysterectomies(3,539 LH vs.1,356 AH) between 2007 and 2013 was involved. Operative time(OT), estimated blood loss(EBL), intra-operative and post-operative complications, passing flatus; days with indwelling catheter, questionnaires covering pelvic floor functions and sexual functions were assessed.Results: The EBL(174.1±157.4 vs. 263.1±183.2 cc, LH and AH groups, respectively), passing flatus(38.7±14.1 vs. 48.1±13.2 hours), days with indwelling catheter(1.5±0.6 vs. 2.2±0.8 days), use of analgesics(6.5% vs. 73.1%), intra-operative complication rate(2.4% vs. 4.1%), post-operative complication rate(2.3% vs. 5.7%), post-operative constipation(12.1% vs. 24.6%), mild and serious stress urinary incontinence(SUI) post-operative(P<0.001; P=0.014), and proportion of Female Sexual Functioning Index(FSFI) total score <26.55 post-operative(P<0.001) of the LH group were significantly less than those of AH group. There wereno significant differences in OT(106.5±34.5 vs. 106.2±40.3 min) between the two groups.Conclusions: LH is a safe and efficient operation for improving patients' long-term quality of life(Qo L), and LH is a cost-effectiveness procedure for treating benign gynecological disease. 9Comparative investigation on soil salinity leaching under subsurface drainage and ditch drainage in Xinjiang arid region显示文摘This study was carried out to explore the effects of leaching salinity under subsurface drainage and mulched drip irrigation on saline and alkaline land from the year 2012 to 2014 in Xinjiang Region of China.Three sampled points were both set up in the subsurface drainage and ditch drainage areas.Soil samples were obtained at varied depths.Through observing the underground water table under each sampled point and measuring the electrical conductivity(EC)of the soil extracts,the following results were obtained:(1)after draining,the underground water table ranged from 1.6 m to 2.2 m in the ditch drainage area,and ranged from 1.5 m to 2.2 m in the subsurface drainage area.Thus,both irrigations could control underground water table below 1.5 m which is deeper than the main water-absorbing layers of crop root systems;(2)for subsurface drainage,the closer to the pipe,the better to leach salinity;decreased from the initial 13.54-22.95 g/kg to 8.20-11.47 g/kg;(3)compared with the amounts in 2012,soil total salt at each sampling point at depths of 0-200 cm in subsurface drainage area decreased by 42.99%,36.84%and 24.41%respectively in 2014;and in ditch drainage area decreased by 46.85%,38.12%and 30.80%respectively in 2014.The results showed both ditch and subsurface drainage could leach salinity effectively.He Xinlin Liu Hongguang Ye Jianwei Yang Guang Li Mingsi Gong Ping Aernaguli Aimaiti 2016International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2016,9,6:6
10Land use change characteristics affected by water saving practices in Manas River Basin,China using Landsat satellite images显示文摘The characteristics and influencing factors of land use change under arid conditions were studied in the Manas River Basin in Xinjiang Region,Northwest China.Landsat satellite images acquired in 1976,1990,2000,2010 and 2015 over the study area were used as basic data.Land use change,the rate of change of land use,land use transfer and other aspects revealed the characteristics of land use change and related factors as influenced by water conditions in the basin.The results showed that:(1)Over nearly 50 years,land reclamation in the Manas River Basin resulted in the rapid expansion of an artificial oasis area,and promoted the process of‘oasis urbanization’,and accelerated the development of the river basin economy.(2)In 2000,the popularization of drip irrigation under mulch technology led to the rapid growth of cultivated land and development land in the watershed.Meanwhile,the water table declined in the desert area of the lower reaches of the river basin,and the area occupied by sparse shrub forest and grassland decreased.(3)Before popularization of water-saving technology,woodland,grassland and development land transformed to cultivated land in the amounts of 93.46 km^(2),2542.93 km^(2) and 137.53 km^(2),respectively,and woodland transformed in the amount of 189.64 km^(2).After water-saving technology was popularized,woodland,grassland and development land were transformed into cultivated land in the amounts of 567.41 km^(2),1756.2 km^(2) and 37.36 km^(2),respectively.(4)The popularization of water-saving technology made the dynamic degree of cultivated land and development land more active,and further increased landscape fragmentation and landscape heterogeneity.The level of urbanization development,the level of economic development and the dry humidity of the basin became the main factors affecting the change of land use in the basin.Yang Guang Chen Dong He Xinlin Long Aihua Yang Mingjie Li Xiaolong 2017International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2017,10,6:5

12Inhibition of DNA restrictive endonucleases and Taq DNA polymerase by trimalonic acid C_(60)显示文摘Activities of trimalonic acid fullerene (TMA C_60) on DNA restrictive enzymatic reaction were investigated by using two restrictive endonucleases Hind III and EcoR I and plasmid pEGFP-N1 with single restric-tive site for both enzymes. Meanwhile, TMA C60 was also tested to clarify its effects on polymerase chain reaction (PCR) with the catalyst of Taq DNA polymerase and the template of plasmid pEGFP-N1. The products from restrictive reactions or PCR were detected by agarose gel electrophoresis. It was found that the product amounts from restrictive reactions or PCR decreased significantly with addition of TMA C60. The inhibition by TMA C60 was dose-dependent and IC50 values for reactions of Hind III, EcoR I and PCR were 16.3, 6.0 and 6.0 μmol/L, respectively. Addition of two scavengers of reactive oxygen species (ROS), L-ascorbic acid-2-phosphate ester magnesium and sodium azide at the con-centrations of 2―10 mmol/L did not antagonize the activities of TMA C60 against PCR and two restrictive reactions. However, increase of Taq DNA polymerase amounts in PCR system antagonized the activities of TMA C60. 13Extraction kinetics of neodymium from chloride medium using HEH/EHP saponified with magnesium bicarbonate solution显示文摘Magnesium bicarbonate solution is considered as an environmentally friendly extractant saponification agent for the solvent extraction of rare earth elements due to its advantage of minimum water pollution.In order to reveal the extraction regularity, optimize production-process and guide the use of this new extraction system, the extraction of Nd(Ⅲ) in chloride medium with HEH/EHP saponified by magnesium bicarbonate solution was investigated with the self-designed constant interfacial area cell. Besides, the effects of stirring rate, temperature, specific interfacial area and concentration of Mg-HEH/EHP on the extraction rate of Nd(Ⅲ) were systematically investigated. Results show that, the rate of extraction is governed by both diffusion and chemical reaction, and the extraction reaction takes place at the interface. The apparent activation energy of the extraction reaction is 16.88 kJ/mol. The corresponding rate equation is deduced. 15Selenium-enriched and ordinary green tea extracts prevent high blood pressure and alter gut microbiota composition of hypertensive rats caused by high-salt diet显示文摘High-salt diet is well recognized as a risk factor for hypertension,and dietary intervention plays a critical role in the prevention of hypertension.The current study investigated the effects of selenium-enriched green tea(Se-GT)and ordinary green tea(GT)on prevention of hypertension of rats induced by high-salt diet,as well as their potential regulatory and mechanism.Our results showed that GT and Se-GT supplementations significantly prevented the increase of blood pressure(BP),activated the phosphoinosmde-3-kinase/protein kinase B(PI3K/Akt)signaling pathway,and regulated the gene expression related to BP,as well as improved the tissue damage like heart,liver,and kidneys.Besides,the key parameters associated with oxidative stress,inflammation and endothelial dysfunction were also altered by GT and Se-GT treatments.Importantly,GT or Se-GT administration adjusted the diversity and composition of the intestinal flora.Moreover,GT and Se-GT supplementations increased the abundance of beneficial bacteria and reduced the abundance of harmful or conditional pathogenic bacteria.More specifically,GT intake specifically and significantly enriched the relative abundance of Paraprevotella and Bacteroides,whereas Se-GT was characterized by specific and significant enrichment for Allobaculum and Bifidobacterium.Our results proved that dietary supplement of GT and Se-GT remarkably improved the vascular functions and effectively prevented tissue damage by regulation of intestinal flora,and thus preventing hypertension induced by high-salt diet.Meirong Wu Xiaobin Wu Jiangxiong Zhu Fanglan Li Xinlin Wei Yuanfeng Wang 2022Food Science and Human Wellness2022,11,3:4
16In vitro and in vivo studies on biodegradable magnesium alloy显示文摘The microstructure, mechanical property, electrochemical behavior and biocompatibility of magnesium alloy(Bio De MSM^(TM)) were studied in the present work. The experimental results demonstrated that grain refining induced by extrusion improves the alloy strength significantly from162 MPa for the as-cast alloy to 241 MPa for the as-extruded one. The anticorrosion properties of the as-extruded alloy also increased.Furthermore, the hemolysis ratio was decreased from 4.7% for the as-cast alloy to 2.9% for the as-extruded one, both below 5%. Bio De MSM^(TM)alloy shows good biocompatibility after being implanted into the dorsal muscle and the femoral shaft of the New Zealand rabbit, respectively, and there are no abnormalities after short-term implantation. 17The influence of observation environment on background noise level of gPhone gravimeter显示文摘Based on the observations of 36 gPhone gravimeters in 2015, the background noise levels in the seismic frequency band(200-600 s) and sub-seismic band(1-6 h) are calculated. The differences in the PSD(power spectrum density) of each band of gPhone gravimetric gauges in different surrounding environments were analyzed and compared with Peterson's NLNM(new low-noise model) which is derived from the envelope at the power spectrum density of 75 seismograph stations around the world. The results showed that: the influence of station type on the noise magnitude of gPhone gravimeter is very small; The seismic band noise magnitude(hereinafter referred to as SNM) and the sub-seismic band noise magnitude(hereinafter referred to as SSNM) in the coastal gPhone gravimeter are higher than those of inland stations. Although the local hydrological change has a great influence on the gravity observation, the rainfall is not directly relative to the noise magnitude of the instrument. Except 3 coastal stations, the eight stations which had the highest amplitudes in the SNM were located near the seismic belt. 18Effects of Gaussian filter in processing GRACE data: Gravity rate of change at Lhasa,southern Tibet显示文摘In this paper, the spatial gravity distribution over Tibetan Plateau and the gravity rate of change at Lhasa for different Gaussian filter radii are computed using GRACE data. Results show that the estimate of the gravity rate of change is spatial radius-dependent of the Gaussian filter. The GRACE-estimated gravity rate of change agrees well with the surface measured one. In other words, the GRACE-estimated gravity rate of change has a limited value as that obtained by surface measurement when the spatial filter radius reaches zero. Then numerical simulations are made for different spatial radii of the Gaussian filter to investigate its behaviors when applied to surface signals. Results show that the estimate of a physical signal is filter-radius dependent. If the computing area is equal to or less than the mass area, especially for a uniformly distributed mass, the estimate gives an almost correct result, no matter what filter radius is used. The estimate has large error because of the signal leakage caused by harmonic truncation if the computing area is much bigger than the mass distribution (or inverse for a small mass anomaly). If a mass anomaly is too small, it is difficult to recover it from space observation unless the filter radius is extremely small. If the computing point (or area) is outside the mass distribution, the estimated result is almost zero, particularly for small filter radii. These properties of the Gaussian filter are helpful in applying GRACE data in different geophysical problems with different spatial position and geometrical size. We further discuss physical sources causing the scalar gravity change at Lhasa. Discussions indicate that the gravity rate of change at Lhasa is not caused by the present-day ice melting (PDIM) (or Little Ice Age, LIA) effect because no ice melting occurs in Lhasa city and nearby. The gravity rate of change is attributable mainly to tectonic deformation associated with the Indian Plate collision. 19Microstructure and mechanical properties at elevated temperature of Mg-Al-Ni alloys prepared through powder metallurgy显示文摘Mg-Al-Ni alloys were prepared by powder metallurgy, and their microstructure and elevated temperature mechanical properties were investigated. Results indicate that, in addition to α-Mg matrix, both coarse Al_3Ni_2 particles and fine Al Ni nano-particles exist in the Mg-Al-Ni alloys. The strength at 150?C is improved with the increase in Ni content. Mg-18.3Al-8Ni alloy possesses a compressive strength of234.7 MPa and a yield strength of 146.5 MPa. Plasticity is also improved with a low concentration of Ni. Mg-11.3Al-2Ni alloy possesses a compression ratio of 17.3%. The phases of Al_3Ni_2 and Al Ni in the alloys block the movements of grain boundaries and dislocations during the deformation at elevated temperature. The existence of Al Ni phase provides a non-basal slip system, leading to the improvement in plasticity. 20Inhibition of M-MuLV reverse transcriptase activity by fullerene derivatives显示文摘Influence of fullerene (C60) derivatives on M-MuLV reverse transcriptase activity is investi- gated. Two water-soluble fullerene derivatives, fullerol (C60(OH)23-24) and trimalonic acid C60 (TMA C60, C63(COOH)6) are used in the experiments and their effects on in vitro reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) of β-actin mRNA in HeLa cells are determined. PCR products are detected by agarose gel electrophoresis. It is found that the amounts of PCR products decrease with addition of either of two fullerene derivatives to RT reaction mixture. The inhibition of fullerene derivatives is dose-dependent, and IC50 values of fullerol and TMA C60 are 0.089 and 0.039 mmol/L, respectively. The amount of PCR products obtained by direct addition of fullerol or TMA C60 to PCR are greater than those obtained by addition of the equivalent amount of fullerol or TMA C60 to RT, indicating an inhibitory ef- fect of fullerol or TMA C60 on RT. The compensative experiment of M-MuLV reverse transcriptase shows that increasing enzyme amounts can antagonize the activity of fullerol or TMA C60.
