| 1 | Antimicrobial metabolites from marine microorganisms显示文摘Marine ecological niches have recently been described as 'particularly promising' sources for search of new antimicrobials to combat antibiotic-resistant strains of pathogenic microorganisms. Marine organisms are excellent sources for many industrial products, but they are partly explored. Over 30 000 compounds have been isolated from marine sources. Bacteria, fungi, and cyanobacteria obtained from various marine sources secret several industrially useful bioactive compounds, possessing antibacterial, antifungal, and antimycobacterial activities. Sustainable cultivation methods for promising marine organisms and biotechnological processes for selected compounds can be developed, along with the establishment of biosensors for monitoring the target compounds. The semisynthetic modifications of marine-based bioactive compounds produce their new derivatives, structural analogs and mimetics that could serve as novel lead compounds against resistant pathogens. The present review focuses on promising antimicrobial compounds isolated from marine microbes from 1991-2013. | Prasanna Habbu Vijayanand Warad Rajesh Shastri Smita Madagundi Venkatrao H. kulkarni | 2016 | Chinese Journal of Natural Medicines2016,14,2: | 5 |

| 11 | Magnetic resonance imaging of the transplanted pediatric heart as a potential predictor of rejection显示文摘AIM To evaluate cardiac magnetic resonance imaging(CMR) as a non-invasive tool to detect acute cellular rejection(ACR) in children after heart transplant(HT).METHODS Thirty pediatric HT recipients underwent CMR at the time of surveillance endomyocardial biopsy(EMB) and results were compared to 14 non-transplant controls. Biventricular volumes, ejection fractions(EFs), T2-weighted signal intensities, native T1 times, extracellular volumes(ECVs) and presence of late gadolinium enhancement(LGE) were compared between patients and controls and betweenpatients with International Society of Heart and Lung Transplantation(ISHLT) grade ≥ 2R rejection and those with grade 0/1R. Heart rate(HR) and brain natriuretic peptide(BNP) were assessed as potential biomarkers.RESULTS Significant ACR(ISHLT grade ≥ 2R) was an infrequent event in our population(5/30, 17%). Ventricular volumes,EFs, LGE prevalence, ECVs, native T1 times, T2 signal intensity ratios, HR and BNP were not associated with the presence of ≥ 2R ACR.CONCLUSION In this pilot study CMR did not reliably identify ACRrelated changes in pediatric HT patients. | Steven C Greenway Frederic Dallaire Paul F Kantor Anne I Dipchand Rajiv R Chaturvedi Monali Warade Eugenie Riesenkampff Shi-Joon Yoo Lars Grosse-Wortmann | 2016 | World Journal of Transplantation2016,6,4: | 0 |
| 12 | Role of an acidic environment in the treatment of diabetic foot infections:A review显示文摘Management of diabetic foot ulcers is the biggest challenge to the clinician,as conventional antibiotic therapies and local wound care have their own limitations. They are not effective for control of infections and promotion of healing because of cytotoxic effects. In view of cytotoxicity of routinely used topical antiseptic agents, this article focuses on the search of an ideal topical antiseptic agent that is safe and effective in controlling infectious agents and also in promoting the healing process. This review focuses on the use of various acids such as citric, acetic, hyaluronic, and hypochlorous acids as topical agents in diabetic foot infections. This article also focuses on the different roles of acids in the treatment of diabetic foot infections. | Basavraj Nagoba Ajay Gavkare Abhijit Rayate Sachin Mumbre Arunkumar Rao Basavraj Warad Neeta Nanaware Nawab Jamadar | 2021 | World Journal of Diabetes2021,12,9: | 0 |
