| 2 | Detection of dynamic brain networks modulated by acupuncture using a graph theory model显示文摘Neuroimaging studies involving acute acupuncture manipulation have already demonstrated significant modulatory effects on wide limbic/paralimbic nuclei, subcortical gray structures and the neocortical system of the brain. Due to the sustained effect of acupuncture, however, knowledge on the organization of such large-scale cortical networks behind the active needle stimulation phase is lacking. In this study, we originally adopted a network model analysis from graph theory to evaluate the functional connectivity among multiple brain regions during the post-stimulus phase. Evidence from our findings clearly supported the existence of a large organized functional connectivity network related to acupuncture function in the resting brain. More importantly, acupuncture can change such a network into a functional state underlying both pain perception and modulation, which is exhibited by significant changes in the functional connectivity of some brain regions. | 5 | The Diversity of Soil Fauna Communities in the Karst Cave Wetland of Maolan Nature Reserve显示文摘From March 2014 to February 2015, the soil fauna community in the karst cave wetland of Maolan Nature Reserve was investigated. A total of 3,820 soil fauna was obtained, belonging to 31 orders, 11 classes, and 3 phyla. The dominant groups were Araneae, Coleoptera and Hymenoptera, accounting for 48.90% of the total catch. There were 18 common groups and 10 rare groups. The diversity analysis showed that the Banzhai karst cave wetland had the largest soil fauna community diversity index and evenness index and that the Dongsai karst cave wetland had the largest number of groups and individuals. | 7 | Genome-wide signatures of the geographic expansion and breeding of soybean显示文摘Soybean is a leguminous crop that provides oil and protein. Exploring the genomic signatures of soybean evolution is crucial for breeding varieties with improved adaptability to environmental extremes. We analyzed the genome sequences of 2,214 soybeans and proposed a soybean evolutionary route, i.e., the expansion of annual wild soybean(Glycine soja Sieb. & Zucc.) from southern China and its domestication in central China, followed by the expansion and local breeding selection of its landraces(G. max(L.) Merr.). We observed that the genetic introgression in soybean landraces was mostly derived from sympatric rather than allopatric wild populations during the geographic expansion. Soybean expansion and breeding were accompanied by the positive selection of flowering time genes, including GmSPA3c. | 10 | Structural Strength Analysis of a Tri-Floater Floating Foundation for Offshore VAWT显示文摘Vertical axis wind turbines(VAWTs) are advantageous for the development of large-scale offshore wind power because the drive system is located at the bottom of the turbine. This study investigates the structural strength of a tri-floater floating foundation supporting a 2.6 MW Darrieus VAWT. Finite element models of the floating foundation were developed using space plate-beam elements. The environmental loads, such as the aerodynamic loads, static wind loads, and wave-current loads, were considered. The general strengths of the floating foundation were calculated for the normal operating case(a cut-out wind speed of 25 m s^(-1) and blade rotation of 12 r min^(-1) were used to analyze the most unfavorable loads) and an extreme case(wind speed of 40 m s^(-1) and parked blades), and the weak components of the structure were analyzed. The results show that the floating foundation meets the strength requirements and the structural stress is highest when the wave, wind, and current are in a collinear direction. The main and secondary supporting bars transmit the loads between the stand columns and the tower foundation, and their stresses are higher than those in the other components. In the actual design, these supporting bars should be strengthened. | 17 | Coronavirus transmissible gastroenteritis virus antagonizes the antiviral effect of the microRNA miR-27b via the IRE1 pathway显示文摘Although the functional parameters of micro RNAs(mi RNAs)have been explored to some extent,the roles of these molecules in coronavirus infection and the regulatory mechanism of mi RNAs in virus infection are still unclear.Transmissible gastroenteritis virus(TGEV)is an enteropathgenic coronavirus and causes high morbidity and mortality in suckling piglets.Here,we demonstrated that microRNA-27b-3p(miR-27b-3p)suppressed TGEV replication by directly targeting porcine suppressor of cytokine signaling 6(SOCS6),while TGEV infection downregulated miR-27b-3p expression in swine testicular(ST)cells and in piglets.Mechanistically,the decrease of miR-27b-3p expression during TGEV infection was mediated by the activated inositolrequiring enzyme 1(IRE1)pathway of the endoplasmic reticulum(ER)stress.Further studies showed that when ER stress was induced by TGEV,IRE1 acted as an RNase activated by autophosphorylation and unconventionally spliced m RNA encoding a potent transcription factor,X-box-binding protein 1(Xbp1s).Xbp1s inhibited the transcription of miR-27 and ultimately reduced the production of miR-27b-3p.Therefore,our findings indicate that TGEV inhibits the expression of an anti-coronavirus micro RNA through the IRE1 pathway and suggest a novel way in which coronavirus regulates the host cell response to infection. | Changlin Wang Mei Xue Peng Wu Honglei Wang Zhongqing Liu Guangzheng Wu Pinghuang Liu Keliang Wang Wanhai Xu Li Feng | 2022 | Science China(Life Sciences)2022,65,7: | 0 |
