| 1 | 3D graphene foam-supported cobalt phosphate and borate electrocatalysts for high-efficiency water oxidation显示文摘The cobalt phosphate-/cobalt borate-based oxygen-evolving catalysts(OECs) are the important class of earth-abundant electrocatalysts that can operate with high activity for water splitting under benign conditions.This article reports the integration of cobalt phosphate(CoPi) and cobalt borate(Co-Bi) OECs with three-dimensional(3D) graphene foam(GF) for the electrocatalytic water oxidation reaction. The GF showed a unique advantage to serve as a highly conductive 3D support with large capacity for anchoring and loading Co-OECs, thereby facilitating mass and charge transfer due to the large amount of active sites provided by the 3D graphene scaffold. As a result, this integrated system of GF and Co-OECs exhibits synergistically enhanced catalytic activity. The overpotential(g) of Co-Pi and Co-Bi/graphene catalysts is about 0.390 and0.315 V in neutral solutions, respectively. | 2 | Current research on pharmacologic and regenerative therapies for osteoarthritis显示文摘Osteoarthritis(OA)is a degenerative joint disorder commonly encountered in clinical practice,and is the leading cause of disability in elderly people.Due to the poor self-healing capacity of articular cartilage and lack of specific diagnostic biomarkers,OA is a challenging disease with limited treatment options.Traditional pharmacologic therapies such as acetaminophen,non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs,and opioids are effective in relieving pain but are incapable of reversing cartilage damage and are frequently associated with adverse events.Current research focuses on the development of new OA drugs(such as sprifermin/recombinant human fibroblast growth factor-18,tanezumab/monoclonal antibody againstβ-nerve growth factor),which aims for more effectiveness and less incidence of adverse effects than the traditional ones.Furthermore,regenerative therapies(such as autologous chondrocyte implantation(ACI),new generation of matrix-induced ACI,cell-free scaffolds,induced pluripotent stem cells(iPS cells or iPSCs),and endogenous cell homing)are also emerging as promising alternatives as they have potential to enhance cartilage repair,and ultimately restore healthy tissue.However,despite currently available therapies and research advances,there remain unmet medical needs in the treatment of OA.This review highlights current research progress on pharmacologic and regenerative therapies for OA including key advances and potential limitations. | Wei Zhang Hongwei Ouyang Crispin R Dass Jiake Xu | 2015 | Bone Research2015,3,4: | 9 |

| 5 | Electrochemical solid-state amorphization in the immiscible Cu-Li system显示文摘As a typical immiscible binary system, copper (Cu) and lithium (Li) show no alloying and chemical intermixing under normal circumstances. Here we show that, when decreasing Cu nanoparticle sizes into ultrasmall range, the nanoscale size effect can play a subtle yet critical role in mediating the chemical activity of Cu and therefore its miscibility with Li, such that the electrochemical alloying and solidstate amorphization will occur in such an immiscible system. This unusual observation was accomplished by performing in-situ studies of the electrochemical lithiation processes of individual CuO nanowires inside a transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Upon lithiation, CuO nanowires are first electrochemically reduced to form discrete ultrasmall Cu nanocrystals that, unexpectedly, can in turn undergo further electrochemical lithiation to form amorphous Cu Lixnanoalloys. Real-time TEM imaging unveils that there is a critical grain size (ca. 6 nm), below which the nanocrystalline Cu particles can be continuously lithiated and amorphized. | 10 | Temporal variation of soil water and its influencing factors in hilly area of Chongqing,China显示文摘The paper studied the temporal variation of soil water content and its influencing factors in hilly area of Chongqing by the yearly data of 2006 and 2007.According to precipitation anomaly percentage,the year 2006 was a dry year and 2007 a normal year.In the dry year 2006,the variations of soil moisture in all three layers(0-10 cm,10-20 cm,20-40 cm)were medium(10%30%),and those of the two deeper layers were weak(CV<10%).Hence,the seasonal variation of soil moisture in the humid area was large in the dry year and small in the wet year.The probability distributions of soil moisture in all three layers in both dry and normal years showed single-peak shapes.However,peak locations and values varied with different layers and years.Among factors affecting the temporal variation of soil moisture in the 0-10 cm layer,during March to May,the meteorological factors including temperature,sunshine and precipitation were all inversely correlated with soil water content variation.The correlations with average temperature and accumulated temperature were both highly significant P<0.01(P=0.00).The inverse correlations with sunshine and precipitation were significant P<0.05(P=0.01).Among soil physical properties,except for bulk density which was inversely correlated with soil moisture,all other properties were positively correlated.Organic material was positively correlated with soil moisture,which suggested that organics had the sponge effect and contributed to soil water storage and movement.During the period of June to September,there was no significant correlation between soil water content and total storage.The meteorological factors of temperature,accumulated temperature and sunshine were all inversely and highly significantly correlated with soil water content P<0.01(P=0.00). | Zhong Shouqin Zhang Weihua Lv Jiake Wei Chaofu | 2014 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2014,7,4: | 1 |

| 12 | In-situ TEM study of the dynamic behavior of the graphene-metal interface evolution under Joule heating显示文摘The dynamic behavior of the interface between few layer graphene(FLG) and tungsten metal tips under Joule heating has been studied by in-situ transmission electron microscopy(TEM) method. High-resolution and real-time observations show the tungsten tip ‘swallow' carbon atoms of the FLG and ‘spit' graphite shells at its surface. The tip was carbonized to tungsten carbide(WC, W_2 C and WC_x) after this process. A carbon diffusion mechanism has been proposed based on the diffusion of carbon atoms through the tungsten tip and separation from the surface of the tip.
