| 1 | Identification of coastal wetlands of international importance for waterbirds:a review of China Coastal Waterbird Surveys 2005–2013显示文摘Background:China's coastal wetlands belong to some of the most threatened ecosystems worldwide.The loss and degradation of these wetlands seriously threaten waterbirds that depend on wetlands.Methods:The China Coastal Waterbird Census was organized by volunteer birdwatchers in China's coastal region.Waterbirds were surveyed synchronously once every month at 14 sites,as well as irregularly at a further 18 sites,between September 2005 and December 2013.Results:A total of 75 species of waterbirds met the 1 % population level Ramsar listing criterion at least once at one site.The number of birds of the following species accounted for over 20 % of the total flyway populations at a single site:Mute Swan(Cygnus olor),Siberia Crane(Grus leucogeranus),Far Eastern Oystercatcher(Haematopus osculans),Bar-tailed Godwit(Limosa lapponica),Spotted Greenshank(Tringa guttifer),Great Knot(Calidris tenuirostris),Spoon-billed Sandpiper(Calidris pygmeus),Saunders' s Gull(Larus saundersi),Relict Gull(Larus relictus),Great Cormorant(Phalacrocorax carbo),Eurasian Spoonbill(Platalea leucorodia),Black-faced Spoonbill(Platalea minor) and Dalmatian Pelican(Pelecanus crispus).A total of 26 sites supported at least one species of which their number met the1 % criterion.Forty-two species met the 1 % criterion in the Yellow River Delta,Shandong;29 at the Cangzhou coast,Hebei and 26 species at the Lianyungang coast,Jiangsu.Conclusions:The results highlight the international importance of China's coastal wetlands for waterbirds.This study also demonstrates that participation of local birdwatchers in waterbird surveys results in data that are invaluable not only for understanding the current status of waterbirds in China's coastal regions but also for waterbird conservation and management. | Qingquan Bai Jianzhong Chen Zhihong Chen Guotai Dong Jiangtian Dong Wenxiao Dong Vivian Wing Kan Fu Yongxiang Han Gang Lu Jing Li Yang Liu Zhi Lin Derong Meng Jonathan Martinez Guanghui Ni Kai Shan Renjie Sun Suixing Tian Fengqin Wang Zhiwei Xu Yat-tung Yu Jin Yang Zhidong Yang Lin Zhang Ming Zhang Xiangwu Zeng | 2015 | Chinese Birds2015,,3: | 20 |

| 8 | Combinations of proteasome inhibitors with obatoclax are effective for small cell lung cancer显示文摘Proteasome inhibitors,bortezomib(BTZ),and carfilzomib(CFZ)are approved drugs for hematological malignancies,but lack anticancer activities against most solid tumors.Small cell lung cancer(SCLC)is a very aggressive neuroendocrine carcinoma of the lungs demanding effective therapy.In this study we investigated whether BTZ or CFZ combined with obatoclax(OBX),an antagonist for MCL-1 and a pan-BCL family inhibitor,could cause synergistic growth inhibition of SCLC cells.We showed that combined application of BTZ or CFZ with OBX caused synergistic growth inhibition of human SCLC cell lines(H82,H526,DMS79,H196,H1963,and H69)than single agent alone.Both BTZ-OBX and CFZ-OBX combinations displayed marked synergism on inducing apoptosis(~50% increase vs BTZ or CFZ alone).A comprehensive proteomics analysis revealed that BTZ preferentially induced the expression of MCL-1,an antiapoptotic protein,in SCLC cells.Thus,proteasome inhibitor-OBX combinations could specifically induce massive growth inhibition and apoptosis in SCLC cells.Subsequent proteome-wide profiling analysis of activated transcription factors suggested that BTZ-or CFZ-induced MCL-1 upregulation was transcriptionally driven by FOXM1.In nude mice bearing in SCLC H82 xenografts,both BTZ-OBX,and CFZ-OBX combinations exhibited remarkable antitumor activities against SCLC tumors evidenced by significant reduction of tumor size and the proliferation marker Ki-67 signals in tumor tissues as compared with single agent alone.Thus,proteasome inhibitor-OBX combinations are worth immediate assessments for SCLC in clinical settings. | Yan-ping Yin Wen-hao Shi Ke Deng Xiao-li Liu Hong Li Xiao-tong Lv Vivian Wai Yan Lui Chen Ding Bo Hong Wen-chu Lin | 2021 | Acta Pharmacologica Sinica2021,42,8: | 1 |

| 10 | Evaluation of biological effects of three neodymium compounds on silkworm,Bombyx mori显示文摘Neodymium(Nd)is one of the most famous members of rare earth elements family.With the increasing global demand for Nd,it can inevitably enter the environment and affect the ecological environment through the food chain and other ways.Therefore,it is very important to study the biological effects of Nd.In this study,the biological effects of 3 kinds of Nd compounds,i.e.neodymium oxide(Nd_(2)O_(3)),neodymium chloride(NdCl3)and neodymium nitrate(Nd(NO_(3))_(3)),were evaluated by using silkworm models through the method of intravascular injection.Each of the three Nd compounds was prepared into 6 groups at different concentrations(40,50,60,70,80,90μg/μL).The results show that within the certain concentration range,Nd compounds show great damage to the growth of silkworms since high death rate is observed:the death rate from Nd2 O3 group is floating between 30%and 80%,the one from NdCl3 group is between 17%and 33%and that from Nd(NO3)3 group is between 23%and 37%.It also reveals that Nd compounds have some negative effects on the body length and weight of silkworms.However,the histophysiological study shows that the three Nd compounds cause no obvious negative effects on the cell morphologies in midgut,fat body and silk gland.The XRD and FTIR spectra show that the secondary and the crystalline structures of silks are not destroyed,the TGA and DTG data exhibit that the thermal stability of silks is not damaged,and the tensile test shows that the mechanical properties of silks are not affected significantly by the intake of Nd compounds.In general,the intake of Nd compounds has significant inhibitory effects on silkworm growth but little negative impact on silk structures or cell morphology,the study can provide useful toxicological data for the safe application of Nd compounds in various fields. | Vivian Andoh Huaiyang Guan Lin Ma Weiguo Zhao Long Li Guohua Wu | 2021 | Journal of Rare Earths2021,39,10: | 0 |
