WATER TUNNEL EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATION ON THE DRAG REDUCTION CHARACTERISTICS OF THE TRAVELING WAVY WALL显示文摘Drag reduction experiment of the traveling wavy wall at high Reynolds number is conducted.A suit of traveling wavy wall device is developed. The drag forces of the traveling wavy wall with various wave speeds(c)are measured under different water speeds(U)in the K15 cavitation water tunnel and are compared with that of the flat plate. The results show that the mean drag force of the traveling wavy wall have decreased and then increased with oscillation frequency increasing at the same flow speed.Under different flow speeds, when traveling wave wall reached to the minimum of drag force, the corresponding the ratio of the wall motion phase speed c to flow speed U,c /U is slightly different.Within the parameters of the experiment, whenc /U reaches a certain value, the drag force of the traveling wavy wall can be less than that of the flat plate. The drag reduction can be up to 42%.Furthermore,as the value ofc /U increases, the traveling wavy wall can restrain the separation and improve the quality of flow field.YAO Yan LU Chuan-jing SI Ting ZHU Kun 2011Journal of Hydrodynamics2011,23,1:10
Association of Overlapped and Un-overlapped Comorbidities with COVID-19 Severity and Treatment Outcomes: A Retrospective Cohort Study from Nine Provinces in China显示文摘Objective Several COVID-19 patients have overlapping comorbidities. The independent role of each component contributing to the risk of COVID-19 is unknown, and how some non-cardiometabolic comorbidities affect the risk of COVID-19 remains unclear. Methods A retrospective follow-up design was adopted. A total of 1,160 laboratory-confirmed patients were enrolled from nine provinces in China. Data on comorbidities were obtained from the patients’ medical records. Multivariable logistic regression models were used to estimate the odds ratio(OR) and 95% confidence interval(95% CI) of the associations between comorbidities(cardiometabolic or non-cardiometabolic diseases), clinical severity, and treatment outcomes of COVID-19.Results Overall, 158(13.6%) patients were diagnosed with severe illness and 32(2.7%) had unfavorable outcomes. Hypertension(2.87, 1.30–6.32), type 2 diabetes(T2 DM)(3.57, 2.32–5.49),cardiovascular disease(CVD)(3.78, 1.81–7.89), fatty liver disease(7.53, 1.96–28.96), hyperlipidemia(2.15, 1.26–3.67), other lung diseases(6.00, 3.01–11.96), and electrolyte imbalance(10.40, 3.00–26.10)were independently linked to increased odds of being severely ill. T2 DM(6.07, 2.89–12.75), CVD(8.47,6.03–11.89), and electrolyte imbalance(19.44, 11.47–32.96) were also strong predictors of unfavorable outcomes. Women with comorbidities were more likely to have severe disease on admission(5.46,3.25–9.19), while men with comorbidities were more likely to have unfavorable treatment outcomes(6.58, 1.46–29.64) within two weeks. Conclusion Besides hypertension, diabetes, and CVD, fatty liver disease, hyperlipidemia, other lung diseases, and electrolyte imbalance were independent risk factors for COVID-19 severity and poor treatment outcome. Women with comorbidities were more likely to have severe disease, while men with comorbidities were more likely to have unfavorable treatment outcomes.MA Yan ZHU Dong Shan CHEN Ren Bo SHI Nan Nan LIU Si Hong FAN Yi Pin WU Gui Hui YANG Pu Ye BAI Jiang Feng CHEN Hong CHEN Li Ying FENG Qiao GUO Tuan Mao HOU Yong HU Gui Fen HU Xiao Mei HU Yun Hong HUANG Jin HUANG Qiu Hua HUANG Shao Zhen JI Liang JIN Hai Hao LEI Xiao LI Chun Yan LI Min Qing LI Qun Tang LI Xian Yong LIU Hong De LIU Jin Ping LIU Zhang MA Yu Ting MAO Ya MO Liu Fen NA Hui WANG Jing Wei SONG Fang Li SUN Sheng WANG Dong Ting WANG Ming Xuan WANG Xiao Yan WANG Yin Zhen WANG Yu Dong WU Wei WU Lan Ping XIAO Yan Hua XIE Hai Jun XU Hong Ming XU Shou Fang XUE Rui Xia YANG Chun YANG Kai Jun YUAN Sheng Li ZHANG Gong Qi ZHANG Jin Bo ZHANG Lin Song ZHAO Shu Sen ZHAO Wan Ying ZHENG Kai ZHOU Ying Chun ZHU Jun Teng ZHU Tian Qing ZHANG Hua Min WANG Yan Ping WANG Yong Yan 2020Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2020,33,12:8
Jet formation in shock-heavy gas bubble interaction显示文摘The influences of the acoustic impedance and shock strength on the jet formation in shock-heavy gas bubble interaction are numerically studied in this work. The process of a shock interacting with a krypton or a SF 6 bubble is studied by the numerical method VAS2D. As a validation, the experiments of a SF 6 bubble accelerated by a planar shock were performed. The results indicate that, due to the mismatch of acoustic impedance, the way of jet formation in heavy gas bubble with different species is diversified under the same initial condition. With respect to the same bubble, the manner of jet formation is also distinctly different under different shock strengths. The disparities of the acoustic impedance result in different effects of shock focusing in the bubble, and different behaviors of shock wave inside and outside the bubble. The analyses of the wave pattern and the pressure variation indicate that the jet formation is closely associated with the pressure perturbation. Moreover, the analysis of the vorticity deposition, and comparisons of circulation and baroclinic torque show that the baroclinic vorticity also contributes to the jet formation. It is concluded that the pressure perturbation and baroclinic vorticity deposition are the two dominant factors for the jet formation in shock-heavy gas bubble interaction.Zhi-Gang Zhai Ting Si Li-Yong Zou Xi-Sheng Luo 2013Acta Mechanica Sinica2013,29,1:6
Numerical study on the evolution of the shock-accelerated SF_6 interface:Influence of the interface shape显示文摘The early phases of the shock interaction process on two-dimensional interfaces with different shapes are numerically investigated in this study, which are closely related to the shock refraction and reflection, vorticity production and transport. The numerical method employs an adaptive unstructured quadrilateral mesh, which can capture the wave pattern and interface evolution very well.Simulations are carried out under the conditions of an incident shock Mach number of 1.2 and the light/heavy (air/SF 6) interface.Five different shapes are considered in the simulations:rectangle, ellipse, diamond and two kinds of triangle. The results show that the interfacial shapes can influence the wave patterns particularly on the shape and evolution of refracted shock waves. The generation and the distribution of vorticity on the interfaces with five different shapes also have dissimilarities. The circulation deposition on five interfaces is quantitatively investigated and compared with theoretical model.A good agreement is found between the numerical results and the predictions by the theoretical model. Some characteristic scales of the interface are tracked.Under the influence of nonlinear-acoustic effect and vorticity effect, the interfaces present different evolution modes.FAN MeiRu ZHAI ZhiGang SI Ting LUO XiSheng ZOU LiYong TAN DuoWang 2012Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2012,55,2:4
EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATION ON THE DRAG REDUCTION CHARACTERISTICS OF TRAVELING WAVY WALL AT HIGH REYNOLDS NUMBER IN WIND TUNNEL显示文摘Drag reduction experiments of the traveling wavy wall at high Reynolds number, ranging from 1.46×106 to 5.83×106 based on the free-stream velocity and the model length, were conducted. A suit of traveling wavy wall device was developed and its characteristics of drag reduction at high Reynolds number were investigated. The drag forces of the traveling wavy wall with various wave speeds ( c ) were measured at different wind speeds (U ) in the FL-8 low-speed wind tunnel and compared with the drag force of the flat plate. The results show that the mean drag force of the traveling wavy wall decreases as the value of c /U increases, at different wind velocities, the values of c /U corresponding to minimal drag force of the traveling wavy wall are different, when the values of c /U are larger than 0.6, the mean drag forces of the traveling wavy wall are smaller than those of the flat plate, and the drag reduction can be up to 60%. The drag reduction effectiveness of traveling wavy wall is thus achieved. Furthermore, as the value of c /U increases, the traveling wavy wall can restrain the separation and improve the quality of flow field.YAO Yan LU Chuan-jing SI Ting ZHU Kun 2010Journal of Hydrodynamics2010,22,5:4
CUL4 E3 ligase regulates the proliferation and apoptosis of lung squamous cell carcinoma and small cell lung carcinoma显示文摘Objective:The E3 ligase,CRL4,plays diverse roles in different cellular processes, such as DNA damage, transcriptional regulation, cell cycle progression, and cell apoptosis. Our previous study showed that CUL4A and CUL4B had a strong association with tobacco smoking risk in lung squamous cell carcinoma(SCC)and small cell lung carcinoma(SCLC).This study aimed to define the potential mechanism underlying the roles of CUL4A and CUL4B in the development of SCC and SCLC.Methods:We determined the role of CUL4A and CUL4B in the cell cycle and apoptosis of SCC and SCLC,and identified the key apoptosis-related gene involved in the oncogenic activity of CUL4B by Western blot, immunohistochemical staining, flow cytometry, and enzyme inhibition experiments. Results:We found that depletion of CUL4A and CUL4B reduced the proliferation of SCC and SCLC cells.cUL4Aknockdown but not CUL4Bknockdown arrested cells in Gl phase while upregulating P21 and cU L4Bknockdown promoted cell apoptosis through upregulation o f FOXO3A.Accordingly,CUL4B decreased FO X03A expression by activating the ERK signaling pathway and mediating FOXO3A degradation via the ubiquitin-proteasome pathway. Conclusions:These results identified the function of E3 ligase CRL4 in regulating SCC and SCLC cell proliferation, which provides a potential strategy for cancer therapy by targeting FOXO3A and the E3 ligase,CRL4.Ting Li Si Wu Lei Jia Wenfeng Cao Yuan Yao Gang Zhao Hui Li 2020Cancer Biology & Medicine2020,17,2:3
Wernicke encephalopathy in a patient after liver transplantation: A case report显示文摘Wernicke encephalopathy(WE) is an acute neurological disorder resulting from vitamin B1 deficiency, which is common in chronic alcoholism and is rare in acute liver failure. So far, there are 2 cases of WE reported after liver transplantation. Here, we report a case of a 45-year-old nonalcoholic male patient who developed psychiatric and neurological disturbance 15 d after receiving orthotopic liver transplantation because of hepatitis B-related cirrhosis and portal hypertension. Brain magnetic resonance imaging(MRI) showed symmetric high-signal intensities in the periaqueductal area. The patient was diagnosed with WE and given intravenous high-dose vitamin B1 immediately. His neurological disturbance resolved in 7 d after receiving the vitamin B1. Brain MRI after 5 mo showed nearly complete recovery. Most WE cases may be misdiagnosed in patients after liver transplantation, and we should pay more attention to its onset.Bin Xie Zhong-Zhou Si Wei-Ting Tang Hai-Zhi Qi Ting Li 2017World Journal of Gastroenterology2017,23,47:3
Splenic artery trunk embolization reduces the surgical risk of liver transplantation显示文摘BACKGROUND:Portal hypertension is one of the most important clinical conditions that cause intraoperative intensive hemorrhage in cirrhotic patients undergoing liver transplantation.Pre-transplant portal decompression may reduce the intraoperative bleeding during liver transplantation.METHODS:Splenic artery trunk embolization(SATE)was performed one month prior to liver transplantation.Platelet count, prealbumin, international normalized ratio, and blood flow in the portal vein and hepatic artery were monitored before and one month after SATE.The measurements above were collected on admission and before surgery in the nonSATE patients, who served as controls. We also recorded the intraoperative blood loss, operating time, required transfusion,post-transplant ascites, and complications within three months after operation in all patients.RESULTS:SATE significantly reduced portal venous blood flow, increased hepatic arterial blood flow, normalized platelet count, and improved prealbumin and international normalized ratio in the patients before liver transplantation.Compared to the non-SATE patients, the pre-transplant SATE significantly decreased the operating time, intraoperative bleeding, posttransplant ascites and severe surgical complications.CONCLUSION:Pre-transplant SATE decreases portal pressure, improves liver function reserve, and reduces the surgical risk of liver transplantation effectively in patients with severe portal hypertension.Yi-Ning Li Xiong-Ying Miao Hai-Zhi Qi Wei Hu Zhong-Zhou Si Jie-Qun Li Ting Li Zhi-Jun He 2015Hepatobiliary & Pancreatic Diseases International2015,14,3:3

Effects of Si alloying and T6 treatment on mechanical properties and wear resistance of ZA27 alloys显示文摘To improve the mechanical properties and wear resistance of ZA27 alloy, Si was introduced to the alloy, and the effect of Si alloying and T6 heat treatment on the microstructure, mechanical properties and wear resistance was investigated. The results show that with 0.55% Si, the microstructure of the alloy can be refined effectively, which leads to the increase of hardness. But the tensile strength and elongation decrease because Si undermines the integrity of the matrix. On the other hand, the dendrites are transformed into a desired α+η+(α+η)mixture with T6 heat treatment, which introduces a remarkable increase to the elongation and hardness of the alloy. The wear resistance of the ZA27 alloy with Si alloying is significantly better than that of the ZA27 alloy without Si. With the increase of Si addition, the wear resistance of the alloy firstly increases and then decreases. In the alloy without Si alloying, severe plastic deformation and large delamination were observed on the worn surface of the alloy. However, with the increase of Si, the main wear mechanism transformed to abrasive wear gradually. In addition, the T6 treatment can further improve the wear resistance of the alloy with Si alloying.Rui Zhang Guang-lei Liu Nai-chao Si Yu-yang Peng Hao Wan Ting Liu 2016China Foundry2016,13,2:3

Performance and stability of yield in response to plant density, year and location in maize hybrids of Northwest China显示文摘Identifying desirable genotypes with the best performance in diverse environments is a perpetual aim of plant breeding, and the interaction between genotype and environment(G×E)always plays a key role. This study was conducted to elucidate the genetic behaviour of different hybrid combinations at various densities in diverse environments.According to a line×tester design,32 hybrid combinations were obtained from 16 inbred individuals crossed with two testers and planted at three locations at three density levels(45,000,67,500 and 90,000 plants ha-1)during 2014-2017.Genotype(G),environment(E)and the interaction of genotype and environment(G×E)significantly affected grain yield at different densities.Increasing planting density enhanced grain yield and improved the efficiency of germplasm screening, where the effect of location on grain yield at different densities was larger than that of year and the GCA was larger than the SCA.Finally, four inbred lines(KB102,KB081,KA105,and KB106)with a high GCA,environmental adaptability, and several combinations using them as parents have been approved in ShannXi Province and National of China. In conclusion, the evaluation of combining ability at multiple densities and locations can effectively screen inbred lines and improve breeding efficiency.Yuan Dong Zhiqian Feng Ting Li Ali Farhan Xiaokang Tian Yonghui Lao Yinxin Duan Leiyong Si Xinghua Zhang Jiquan Xue Shutu Xu 2022Technology in Agronomy2022,2,1:1

Charge resolution in the isochronous mass spectrometry and the mass of ^(51)Co显示文摘Isochronous mass spectrometry(IMS)of heavyion storage rings is a powerful tool for the mass measurements of short-lived nuclei. In IMS experiments, masses are determined through precision measurements of the revolution times of the ions stored in the ring. However, the revolution times cannot be resolved for particles with nearly the same mass-to-charge(m/q)ratios.To overcome this limitation and to extract the accurate revolution times for such pairs of ion species with very close m/q ratios,in our early work on particle identification,we analyzed the amplitudes of the timing signals from the detector based on the emission of secondary electrons. Here, the previous data analysis method is further improved by considering the signal amplitudes, detection efficiencies, and number of stored ions in the ring.A sensitive Z-dependent parameter is introduced in the data analysis, leading to a better resolution of ^(34)Ar^(18+) and ^(51)Co^(27+) with A/Z=17/9.The mean revolution times of ^(34)Ar^(18+) and ^(51)Co^(27+) are deduced, although their time difference is merely 1.8 ps.The uncorrected, overlapped peak of these ions has a full width at half maximum of 7.7 ps.The mass excess of ^(51)Co was determined to be-27;332e41T keV,which is in agreement with the previous value of-27;342e48T keV.Xu Zhou Meng Wang Yu-Hu Zhang Hu-Shan Xu You-Jin Yuan Jian-Cheng Yang Yu.A.Litvinov S.A.Litvinov Bo Mei Xin-Liang Yan Xing Xu Peng Shuai Yuan-Ming Xing Rui-Jiu Chen Xiang-Cheng Chen Chao-Yi Fu Qi Zeng Ming-Ze Sun Hong-Fu Li Qian Wang Tong Bao Min Zhang Min Si Han-Yu Deng Ming-Zheng Liu Ting Liao Jin-Yang Shi Yu-Nan Song 2021Nuclear Science and Techniques2021,32,4:1
Differential SW16.1 allelic effects and genetic backgrounds contributed to increased seed weight after soybean domestication显示文摘Although seed weight has increased following domestication from wild soybean(Glycine soja) to cultivated soybean(Glycine max), the genetic basis underlying this change is unclear. Using mapping populations derived from chromosome segment substitution lines of wild soybean, we identified SW16.1 as the causative gene underlying a major quantitative trait locus controlling seed weight.SW16.1 encodes a nucleus-localized LIM domaincontaining protein. Importantly, the GsSW16.1 allele from wild soybean accession N24852 had a negative effect on seed weight, whereas the GmSW16.1 allele from cultivar NN1138-2 had a positive effect. Gene expression network analysis,reverse-transcription quantitative polymerase chain reaction, and promoter-luciferase reporter transient expression assays suggested that SW16.1 regulates the transcription of MT4, a positive regulator of seed weight. The natural variations in SW16.1 and other known seed weight genes were analyzed in soybean germplasm. The SW16.1 polymorphism was associated with seed weight in 247 soybean accessions, showing much higher frequency of positive-effect alleles in cultivated soybean than in wild soybean. Interestingly, gene allele matrix analysis of the known seed weight genes revealed that G. max has lost 38.5%of the G. soja alleles and that most of the lost alleles had negative effects on seed weight. Our results suggest that eliminating negative alleles from G. soja led to a higher frequency of positive alleles and changed genetic backgrounds in G. max, which contributed to larger seeds in cultivated soybean after domestication from wild soybean. Our findings provide new insights regarding soybean domestication and should assist current soybean breeding programs.Xianlian Chen Cheng Liu Pengfei Guo Xiaoshuai Hao Yongpeng Pan Kai Zhang Wusheng Liu Lizhi Zhao Wei Luo Jianbo He Yanzhu Su Ting Jin Fenfen Jiang Si Wang Fangdong Liu Rongzhou Xie Changgen Zhen Wei Han Guangnan Xing Wubin Wang Shancen Zhao Yan Li Junyi Gai 2023Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2023,65,7:1
