1Integrated analysis of high-throughput sequencing data shows abscisic acidresponsive genes and miRNAs in strawberry receptacle fruit ripening显示文摘The perception and signal transduction of the plant hormone abscisic acid(ABA)are crucial for strawberry fruit ripening,but the underlying mechanism of how ABA regulates ripening-related genes has not been well understood.By employing high-throughput sequencing technology,we comprehensively analyzed transcriptomic and miRNA expression profiles simultaneously in ABA-and nordihydroguaiaretic acid(NDGA,an ABA biosynthesis blocker)-treated strawberry fruits with temporal resolution.The results revealed that ABA regulated many genes in different pathways,including hormone signal transduction and the biosynthesis of secondary metabolites.Transcription factor genes belonging to WRKY and heat shock factor(HSF)families might play key roles in regulating the expression of ABA inducible genes,whereas the KNOTTED1-like homeobox protein and Squamosa Promoter-Binding-like protein 18 might be responsible for ABA-downregulated genes.Additionally,20 known and six novel differentially expressed miRNAs might be important regulators that assist ABA in regulating target genes that are involved in versatile physiological processes,such as hormone balance regulation,pigments formation and cell wall degradation.Furthermore,degradome analysis showed that one novel miRNA,Fa_novel6,could degrade its target gene HERCULES1,which likely contributed to fruit size determination during strawberry ripening.These results expanded our understanding of how ABA drives the strawberry fruit ripening process as well as the role of miRNAs in this process.Dongdong Li Wangshu Mou Rui Xia Li Li Christopher Zawora Tiejin Ying Linchun Mao Zhongchi Liu Zisheng Luo 2019Horticulture Research2019,6,1:6

3Biogenic nanostructured silica显示文摘Silicon is by far the most abundant element in the earth crust and also is an essential element for higher plants, yet its biology and mechanisms in plant tolerance of biotic and abiotic stresses are poorly understood. Based on the molecular mechanisms of the biosilicification in marine organisms such as diatoms and sponges, the cell wall template-mediated self-assembly of nanostructured silica in marine organisms and higher plants as well as the related organic molecules are discussed. 4Experimental evidence for non-linear growth in compressible mixing layer显示文摘An experimental study of compressible mixing layers(CMLs)was conducted using planar laser Mie scattering(PLMS)visualizations from condensed ethanol droplets in the flow.Large ensembles of digital images were collected for two flow conditions at convective Mach numbers Mc=0.11 and 0.47.The coherent vortices,braids and eruptions in the mixing zone were observed,interpreted as evidence of multi-scale,three-dimensional structures at a high Reynolds number.The mixing layers with a large visualized range present two stages along the streamwise direction,corresponding to the initial mixing and the well-developed stage.A new method,the gray level ensemble average method(GLEAM),by virtue of the similarity of the mixing layer,was applied to measure the growth rate of the CML thickness.New evidence for a nonlinear growth of CML is reported,providing an interpretation of previous observations of the scattering of the growth rate.WANG TieJin CHEN Jun SHI XiaoTian HU Ning SHE ZhenSu 2014Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2014,57,5:1
