1Development of Transgenic Glyphosate-Resistant Rice with G6 Gene Encoding 5-Enolpyruvylshikimate-3-Phosphate Synthase显示文摘Glyphosate-resistant crops have been a huge economic success for genetic engineering. The creating of new glyphosate-resistant plants would increase the available choices for planting and lower the price of genetically modified crop seeds. A novel G6 gene from Pseudomonas putida that encoded 5-enolpyruvylshikimate-3-phosphate synthase (EPSPS) was previously isolated. The G6 gene was transfected into rice via Agrobacterium-mediated transformation. The transgenic rice obtained was confirmed by PCR, Southern, and Western blots. The lab experiment and field trials further confirmed that the transgenic rice can survive glyphosate spraying at a dose of 8 g L-1. In contrast, conventional rice was killed at a weed control glyphosate spray dose of 1 g L-1. 2Differentiation of illicit drugs with THz time-domain spectroscopy显示文摘The terahertz time-domain spectroscopy(THz-TDS) was used for sensing and identifying illicit drugs.The absorption spectra of seven illicit drug samples(morphine and its hydrochloride,cocaine hydrochloride,codeine phosphate,papaverine hydrochloride,pethidine hydrochloride,and thebaine) were studied by THz-TDS at 0.3-2.0 THz at room temperature.The geometric structure and vibration frequencies of morphine were calculated by density functional theory.The four absorption features were dominated by intra-/inter-molecular collective or lattice vibration modes.Each illicit drug has a distinct signature in its THz spectra.The results indicate that the THz-TDS can be used to identify and discriminate illicit drugs by their characteristic fingerprints.LIU Guifeng MA Shihua JI Te ZHAO Hongwei WANG Wenfeng 2010Nuclear Science and Techniques2010,21,4:7

4Terahertz time-domain spectroscopy of some pentoses显示文摘The well-resolved absorption spectra of D-xylose, D-ribose, D-arabinose, D-lyxose and other related substances in the spectral region between 0.3 and 2.0 THz are measured using tera- hertz time-domain spectroscopy (THz-TDS) at 295 K. Comparing the absorption spectra of different chemicals, we can distinguish the samples easily. 5Controlling plasmon‐exciton interactions through photothermal reshaping显示文摘We investigated the plasmon-exciton interactions in an individual gold nanorod(GNR)with monolayer MoS2 at room temperature with the single-particle spectroscopy technique.To control the plasmon-exciton interaction,we tuned the local surface plasmon resonance of an individual GNR in-situ by employing the photothermal reshaping effect.The scattering spectra of the GNR-MoS2 hybrids exhibited two dips at the frequencies of the A and B excitons of monolayer MoS2,which were caused by the plasmon-induced resonance energy transfer effect.The resonance energy transfer rate increased when the surface plasmon resonance of the nanorod matched well with the exciton transition energy.Also,we demonstrated that the plasmon-enhanced fluorescence process dominated the photoluminescence of the GNR-MoS2 hybrid.These results provide a flexible way to control the plasmon-exciton interaction in an all-solid-state operating system at room temperature.Aiqin Hu Shuai Liu Jingyi Zhao Te Wen Weidong Zhang Qihuang Gong Yongqiang Meng Yu Ye Guowei Lu 2020Opto-Electronic Advances2020,3,1:2

8Paris saponin VII,a Hippo pathway activator,induces autophagy and exhibits therapeutic potential against human breast cancer cells显示文摘Dysregulation of the Hippo signaling pathway seen in many types of cancer is usually associated with a poor prognosis.Paris saponin VII(PSVII)is a steroid saponin isolated from traditional Chinese herbs with therapeutic action against various human cancers.In this study we investigated the effects of PSVII on human breast cancer(BC)cells and its anticancer mechanisms.We showed that PSVII concentration-dependently inhibited the proliferation of MDA-MB-231,MDA-MB-436 and MCF-7 BC cell lines with IC_(50) values of 3.16,3.45,and 2.86μM,respectively,and suppressed their colony formation.PSVII(1.2-1.8μM)induced caspase-dependent apoptosis in the BC cell lines.PSVII treatment also induced autophagy and promoted autophagic flux in the BC cell lines.PSVII treatment decreased the expression and nuclear translocation of Yes-associated protein(YAP),a downstream transcriptional effector in the Hippo signaling pathway;overexpression of YAP markedly attenuated PSVII-induced autophagy.PSVII-induced,YAP-mediated autophagy was associated with increased active form of LATS1,an upstream effector of YAP.The activation of LATS1 was involved the participation of multiple proteins(including MST2,MOB1,and LATS1 itself)in an MST2-dependent sequential activation cascade.We further revealed that PSVII promoted the binding of LATS1 with MST2 and MOB1,and activated LATS1 in the BC cell lines.Molecular docking showed that PSVII directly bound to the MST2-MOB1-LATS1 ternary complex.Microscale thermophoresis analysis and drug affinity responsive targeting stability assay confirmed the high affinity between PSVII and the MST2-MOB1-LATS1 ternary complex.In mice bearing MDA-MB-231 cell xenograft,administration of PSVII(1.5 mg/kg,ip,4 times/week,for 4 weeks)significantly suppressed the tumor growth with increased pLATS1,LC3-II and Beclin 1 levels and decreased YAP,p62 and Ki67 levels in the tumor tissue.Overall,this study demonstrates that PSVII is a novel and direct Hippo activator that has great potential in the treatment of BC.Yu-chen Xiang Peng Peng Xue-wen Liu Xin Jin Jie Shen Te Zhang Liang Zhang Fang Wan Yu-liang Ren Qing-qing Yu Hu-zi Zhao Yuan Si Ying Liu 2022Acta Pharmacologica Sinica2022,43,6:1

10Terahertz identification and quantification of penicillamine enantiomers显示文摘Identification and characterization of L-, D- and DL- penicillamine were demonstrated by Terahertz time-domain spectroscopy (THz-TDS). To understand the physical origins of the low frequency resonant modes, the density functional theory (DFT) was adopted for theoretical calculation. It was found that the collective THz frequency motions were decided by the intramolecular and intermolecular hydrogen bond interactions. Moreover, the quantification of penicillamine enantiomers mixture was demonstrated by a THz spectra fitting method with a relative error of less than 3.5%. 15Essential Oil from Inula britannica Extraction with SF-CO_2 and Its Antifungal Activity显示文摘The aim of this study was to determine the extraction technique of supercritical fluid carbon dioxide(SF-CO 2) for the essential oil from Inula britannica flowers and its antifungal activities against plant pathogenic fungi for its potential application as botanical fungicide.The effects of factors,including extraction temperature,extraction pressure,SF-CO 2 flow rate,flower powder size,and time on the essential oil yield were studied using the single factor experiment.An orthogonal experiment was conducted to determine the best operating conditions for the maximum extraction oil yield.Adopting the optimum conditions,the maximum yield reached 10.01% at 40°C temperature,30 MPa pressure,60 mesh flower powder size,20 L h-1SF-CO 2 flow rate,and 90 min extraction time.The antifungal activities of I.britannica essential oil using the SF-CO 2 against the most important plant pathogenic fungi were also examined through in vitro and in vivo tests.Sixteen plant pathogenic fungi were inhibited to varying degrees at 1 mg mL-1concentration of the essential oil.The mycelial growth of Gaeumannomyces graminis var.tritici was completely inhibited.The radial growths of Phytophthora capsici and Fusarium monilifome were also inhibited by 83.76 and 64.69%,respectively.In addition,the essential oil can inhibit the spore germination of Fusarium oxysporum f.sp.vasinfectum,Phytophthora capsici,Colletotrichum orbiculare,and Pyricularia grisea,and the corresponding inhibition rates were 98.26,96.54,87.89,and 87.35% respectively.The present study has demonstrated that the essential oil of I.britannica flowers extracted through the SF-CO 2 technique is one potential and promising antifungal agent that can be used as botanical fungicide to protect crops.ZHAO Te GAO Fei ZHOU Lin SONG Tian-you 2013Journal of Integrative Agriculture2013,12,10:1
16Multi-modality measurement and comprehensive analysis of hepatocellular carcinoma using synchrotron-based microscopy and spectroscopy显示文摘The visualization and data mining of tumor multidimensional information may play a major role in the analysis of the growth,metastasis,and microenvironmental changes of tumors while challenging traditional imaging and data processing techniques.In this study,a general trans-scale and multi-modality measurement method was developed for the quantitative diagnosis of hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)using a combination of propagation-based phase-contrast computed tomography(PPCT),scanning transmission soft X-ray microscopy(STXM),and Fourier transform infrared micro-spectroscopy(FTIR).Our experimental results reveal the trans-scale micro-morpho-logical HCC pathology and facilitate quantitative data analysis and comprehensive assessment.These results include some visualization features of PPCT-based tissue microenvironments,STXM-based cellular fine structures,and FTIR-based bio-macromolecular spectral characteris-tics during HCC tumor differentiation and proliferation.The proposed method provides multidimensional feature data support for constructing a high-accuracy machine learning algorithm based on a gray-level histogram,gray-gradient co-occurrence matrix,gray-level co-occurrence matrix,and back-propagation neural network model.Multi-dimensional information analysis and diagnosis revealed the morphological pathways of HCC pathological evolution and we explored the relationships between HCC-related feature changes in inflammatory microenviron-ments,cellular metabolism,and the stretching vibration peaks of biomolecules of lipids,proteins,and nucleic acids.Therefore,the proposed methodology has strong potential for the visualization of complex tumors and assessing the risks of tumor differentiation and metastasis.Gong-Xiang Wei Sui-Xia Zhang Zhao Li Fu-Li Wang Yan-Ling Xue Te Ji Hui-Qiang Liu 2021Nuclear Science and Techniques2021,32,9:1

19Molecule diffusion behaviours of waterproof sealants into silicone rubber insulation for submarine cable joint based on molecular dynamics simulations显示文摘The repair joints of high-voltage cables play a significant role in the urgent cable main-tenance,by recovering cable conductor,insulation,shielding layer and waterproof layer especially for submarine cables.However,the molecule diffusion and permeation pro-cesses from waterproof sealant into the cable joint insulation occur,leading to the insulation ageing and deterioration.In this article,the molecule diffusion behaviours of six typical molecules from the asphalt-based and polyurethane-based waterproof sealants into silicone rubber insulation are investigated.The results show that the order of diffusion coefficients is as follows,phenanthrene>fluoranthene>pyrene>benzo[k]fluoranthene>indeno[1,2,3-cd]pyrene>polyurethane(PU).The relative molecular mass and binding energy are pivotal factors affecting the diffusion behaviour,while there is a linear relationship between the logarithm of the diffusion coefficient and the ratio of binding energy to relative molecular mass.Besides,the rising ambient temperature in-creases the fraction of free volume of silicone rubber and decreases the binding energy,thus resulting in a higher diffusion coefficient and an enhanced permeation process of the asphalt-based sealant.In summary,the PU-based waterproof sealant,with a much lower permeability than the asphalt-based material,has a potential application in the waterproof layer for high-voltage submarine cable repair joints.Zhenpeng Zhang Heyu Wang Zhonglei Li Jiankang Zhao Shaohua Wang Wenlin Pan Wenjie Li Te Li Boxue Du 2021High Voltage2021,6,2:1
20Efficacy of acupuncture as an adjuvant to speech and language therapy for aphasia after ischemic stroke:a protocol of systematic review and meta-analysis显示文摘Background:Aphasia is one of the common complications of stroke.Speech and language therapy is a conventional treatment for aphasia following stroke.However,rehabilitation often remains unsatisfactory after speech and language therapy alone.Acupuncture may be effective for aphasia after stroke.We designed this systematic review to assess the efficacy and safety of acupuncture as an adjunct to speech and language therapy for aphasia following ischemic stroke.Methods:An extensive search will be performed in databases including Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials,PubMed,Web of Science,EMBASE,China National Knowledge Infrastructure,Sinomed,Wei Pu Date and Wan Fang Data.No limitation will be set in language,publication date or status of the study.The primary outcomes include scores of Western Aphasia Battery and Aphasia Quotient.The secondary outcomes include Scales of Clinical Rehabilitation Research Center Aphasia Examination,Communicative Abilities in Daily Living,Aphasia Battery of Chinese,Chinese Functional Communication Profile,adverse reactions,etc.Results:All of the data will be processed with Review Manager software.Cochrane‘risk of bias’tool will be used to assess the risk of bias.Conclusion:This study will contribute to the selection of appropriate therapies for aphasia after ischemic stroke and the development of clinical guidelines on this topic.Bo-Mo Sang Shi-Zhe Deng Ting Hao Kai-Hang Sun Te Ba Jing-Bo Zhai Xiao-Feng Zhao Zhi-Hong Meng 2021Medical Data Mining2021,4,4:0
