1Mapping the magnetic field in the solar corona through magnetoseismology显示文摘Magnetoseismology,a technique of magnetic field diagnostics based on observations of magnetohydrodynamic(MHD)waves,has been widely used to estimate the field strengths of oscillating structures in the solar corona.However,previously magnetoseismology was mostly applied to occasionally occurring oscillation events,providing an estimate of only the average field strength or one-dimensional distribution of field strength along an oscillating structure.This restriction could be eliminated if we apply magnetoseismology to the pervasive propagating transverse MHD waves discovered with the Coronal Multi-channel Polarimeter(CoMP).Using several CoMP observations of the Fe xiii 1074.7 nm and 1079.8 nm spectral lines,we obtained maps of the plasma density and wave phase speed in the corona,which allow us to map both the strength and direction of the coronal magnetic field in the plane of sky.We also examined distributions of the electron density and magnetic field strength,and compared their variations with height in the quiet Sun and active regions.Such measurements could provide critical information to advance our understanding of the Sun's magnetism and the magnetic coupling of the whole solar atmosphere.YANG ZiHao TIAN Hui TOMCZYK Steven MORTON Richard BAI XianYong SAMANTA Tanmoy CHEN YaJie 2020Science China(Technological Sciences)2020,63,11:8
2Graphene-based flexible and wearable electronics显示文摘Graphene with an exceptional combination of electronic, optical and outstanding mechanical features has been proved to lead a completely different kind of 2-D electronics. The most exciting feature of graphene is its ultra-thin thickness, that can be conformally contacted to any kind of rough surface without losing much of its transparency and conductivity. Graphene has been explored demonstrating various prototype flexible electronic applications, however, its potentiality has been proven wherever transparent conductive electrodes(TCEs) are needed in a flexible, stretchable format. Graphene-based TCEs in flexible electronic applications showed greatly superior performance over their conventionally available competitor indium tin oxide(ITO). Moreover, enormous applications have been emerging, especially in wearable devices that can be potentially used in our daily life as well as in biomedical areas. However, the production of high-quality, defect-free large area graphene is still a challenge and the main hurdle in the commercialization of flexible and wearable products. The objective of the present review paper is to summarize the progress made so far in graphene-based flexible and wearable applications. 3Plasma Heating Induced by Tadpole-like Downflows in the Flaring Solar Corona显示文摘As one of the most spectacular energy release events in the solar system,solar flares are generally powered by magnetic reconnection in the solar corona.As a result of the re-arrangement of magnetic field topology after the reconnection process,a series of new looplike magnetic structures are often formed and are known as flare loops.A hot diffuse region,consisting of around 5–10 MK plasma,is also observed above the loops and is called a supra-arcade fan.Often,dark,tadpole-like structures are seen to descend through the bright supra-arcade fans.It remains unclear what role these so-called supra-arcade downflows(SADs)play in heating the flaring coronal plasma.Here we show a unique flare observation,where many SADs collide with the flare loops and strongly heat the loops to a temperature of 10–20 MK.Several of these interactions generate clear signatures of quasi-periodic enhancement in the full-Sun-integrated soft X-ray emission,providing an alternative interpretation for quasi-periodic pulsations that are commonly observed during solar and stellar flares.Tanmoy Samanta Hui Tian Bin Chen Katharine KReeves Mark C.M.Cheung Angelos Vourlidas Dipankar Banerjee 2021The Innovation2021,2,1:3
4Solar ultraviolet bursts in a coordinated observation of IRIS,Hinode and SDO显示文摘Solar ultraviolet(UV) bursts are small-scale compact brightenings in transition region images. The spectral profiles of transition region lines in these bursts are significantly enhanced and broadened, often with chromospheric absorption lines such as Ni ii 1335.203 and 1393.330 A superimposed. We investigate the properties of several UV bursts using a coordinated observation of the Interface Region Imaging Spectrograph(IRIS), Solar Dynamics Observatory(SDO), and Hinode on February 7, 2015. We have identified 12 UV bursts, and 11 of them reveal small blueshifts of the Ni ii absorption lines. However, the Ni ii lines in one UV burst exhibit obvious redshifts of ~20 km s^-1, which appear to be related to the cold plasma downflows observed in the IRIS slit-jaw images. We also examine the three-dimensional magnetic field topology using a magnetohydrostatic model, and find that some UV bursts are associated with magnetic null points or bald patches. 5Environmental Arsenic and Selenium Contamination and Approaches Towards Its Bioremediation Through the Exploration of Microbial Adaptations:A Review显示文摘Bioaccumulation of selenium and arsenic resulting from geogenic activities and aggravated by anthropogenic actions has now become a serious environmental issue. Different parts of the world are experiencing issues of selenium and arsenic contamination, especially in soil and ground water. The present selenium and arsenic contamination scenario has been well represented in contemporary literature, and there are an array of remediation techniques targeting the decontamination of environmental contamination. The use of microbe-mediated remediation of selenium and arsenic contamination is gaining scientific attention for sustainable environmental bioremediation. 7Tilapia Lake Virus(TiLV)disease:Current status of understanding显示文摘Tilapia Lake Virus(TiLV)disease is an emerging and transboundary disease of tilapia cultures,causing mortality up to 90%globally.TiLV is a negative sense single stranded RNA virus belongs to family Amnoonviridae,genus Tilapinevirus and species Tilapia tilapinevirus.The first TiLV outbreak to fishes was reported from Israel followed by other countries viz.,Ecuador,Colombia,Egypt,Thailand,Chinese Taipei,India,Malaysia,Bangladesh,Uganda,Tanzania,Peru,Mexico,Philippines,Indonesia,and USA.All the life stages of Tilapia(belonging to the family Cichlidae)are vulnerable to TiLV infection.However,river barb and giant gourami have also been found susceptible to TiLV infection.The virus infects the vital organs of the fish,including eyes,brain,and liver.The notable pathological finding of this disease includes syncytial cell formation and massive hepatocellular necrosis with pyknotic and karyolytic nuclei in the liver cells of infected fish.The disease is very contagious and spreads through both horizontal and vertical transmission.Several sensitive and rapid molecular diagnostic tools like reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR),RT-quantitative PCR(RT-qPCR),loop-mediated isothermal amplification(LAMP)have been developed for early detection of the virus.Till date,no comprehensive control measures have been developed throughout the globe,although aggressive work on this line is going on.Implementations of strict good management practices,including quarantine protocols,are the only available option to combat the outbreak and spread of the disease.This review emphasizes the etiology,occurrence and distribution,mode of transmission,pathology and pathogenesis,diagnosis,possible control measures,and challenges of TiLV disease.Nilav Aich Anirban Paul Tanmoy Gon Choudhury Himadri Saha 2022Aquaculture and Fisheries2022,7,1:2

10Major Soil Chemical Properties of the Major Tea-Growing Areas in India显示文摘Major chemical properties of tea-growing soils are of paramount importance for better management in a sustainable fashion.Therefore,this study was carried out to understand the major soil chemical properties of major tea(Camellia sinensis L.)-growing areas,Dibrugarh and Tinsukia districts,in the state of Assam,India.A total of 991 surface soil samples were collected from 15 large tea estates(TEs) for analysis of their major chemical properties.Soil pH ranged from 3.61 to 6.81.Total organic carbon and total nitrogen ranged from 2.4 to 47.3 and 0.24 to 3.60 g kg^(-1),respectively.All soils were sufficiently rich in plant-available potassium(as K_2O),which ranged from 127.71 to 252.33 mg kg^(-1),exceeding the amount prescribed for optimum tea yield of > 100 mg kg^(-1).Plant-available sulfur among soil samples widely varied from 4 to 129 mg kg^(-1).Results of hierarchical clustering analysis for homogenous grouping of the 15 TEs based on soil chemical properties showed that the 15 TEs could be classified into three distinct groups which consisted of6,8 and 1 TEs,respectively.Based on the Kolmogorov-Smirnov(K-S) test,the best fitted theoretical probability distributions were found out for different soil chemical properties.It could be concluded that a balanced fertilizer application would be needed as a part of tea improvement program using soil chemical test.Tanmoy KARAK Ranjit Kumar PAUL Romesh Kumar BORUAH Indira SONAR Biswajyoti BORDOLOI Amrit Kumar DUTTA Borsha BORKOTOKY 2015Pedosphere2015,25,2:1

20Liquid ordering induced heterogeneities in homogeneous nucleation during solidification of pure metals显示文摘Homogeneous crystal nucleation is prone to formation of defects and often experiences heterogeneities,the inferences of which are crucial in processing crystalline materials and controlling their physical properties. It has been debated in literature whether the associated heterogeneities are an integral part of the homogenous nucleation. In this study by integrating a probabilistic approach with large-scale molecular dynamics simulations based on the most advanced high-temperature interatomic potentials, we attempt to address the ambiguity over the sources and mechanisms of heterogeneities in homogenous nucleation during solidification of pure melts. Different classes of structured metals are investigated for this purpose,including face-centered cubic aluminum, body-centered cubic iron, and hexagonal close-packed magnesium.
