| 2 | A Low-Cost High-Performance Data Augmentation for Deep Learning-Based Skin Lesion Classification显示文摘Objective and Impact Statement.There is a need to develop high-performance and low-cost data augmentation strategies for intelligent skin cancer screening devices that can be deployed in rural or underdeveloped communities.The proposed strategy can not only improve the classification performance of skin lesions but also highlight the potential regions of interest for clinicians’attention.This strategy can also be implemented in a broad range of clinical disciplines for early screening and automatic diagnosis of many other diseases in low resource settings.Methods.We propose a high-performance data augmentation strategy of search space 101,which can be combined with any model through a plug-and-play mode and search for the best argumentation method for a medical database with low resource cost.Results.With EfficientNets as a baseline,the best BACC of HAM10000 is 0.853,outperforming the other published models of“single-model and no-external-database”for ISIC 2018 Lesion Diagnosis Challenge(Task 3).The best average AUC performance on ISIC 2017 achieves 0.909(±0.015),exceeding most of the ensembling models and those using external datasets.Performance on Derm7pt archives the best BACC of 0.735(±0.018)ahead of all other related studies.Moreover,the model-based heatmaps generated by Grad-CAM++verify the accurate selection of lesion features in model judgment,further proving the scientific rationality of model-based diagnosis.Conclusion.The proposed data augmentation strategy greatly reduces the computational cost for clinically intelligent diagnosis of skin lesions.It may also facilitate further research in low-cost,portable,and AI-based mobile devices for skin cancer screening and therapeutic guidance. | Shuwei Shen Mengjuan Xu Fan Zhang Pengfei Shao Honghong Liu Liang Xu Chi Zhang Peng Liu Peng Yao Ronald X.Xu | 2022 | Biomedical Engineering Frontiers2022,3,1: | 1 |

| 7 | Effects of Bagging on the Aroma of ‘Alexandrine Douillard’ Pear Fruit显示文摘[Objectives] This study was conducted to explore the effects of bagging on the aroma of ‘Alexandrine Douillard'pear fruit. [Methods] The static headspace( SHS) and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry( GC-MS) techniques were used to analyze ethylene release and aroma components from the‘Alexandrine Douillard'pear fruit in no bagging( CK),single-layer bagging( KK) and double-layer bagging( KW) treatments. [Results] Bagging during growth period to some extent inhibited ethylene production during storage of‘Alexandrine Douillard'pear at normal temperature. Single-layer bagging could significantly reduce ethylene release during late storage of fruits,and double-layer bagging delayed the appearance time of ethylene release peak during fruit storage. Bagging changed the composition and content of the aroma substances of‘Alexandrine Douillard'fruit. The aroma substance contents ranked as no bagging > single-layer bagging >double-layer bagging. | 8 | An emerging role of arecoline on growth performance,intestinal digestion and absorption capacities and intestinal structural integrity of adult grass carp(Ctenopharyngodon idella)显示文摘Arecoline is an alkaloid with important pharmacological effects in the plant areca nut,which has been demonstrated to be an agonist of muscarinic receptors(M receptor).This study explored the influences of dietary arecoline on growth performance,intestinal digestion and absorption abilities,antioxidant capacity,and the apical junction complex(AJC)of adult grass carp(Ctenopharyngodon idella).Adult grass carp(608to 1512 g)were fed at 6 graded levels of dietary arecoline(0,0.5,1.0,1.5,2.0,and 2.5 mg/kg diet)for 9weeks.The results suggested that appropriate dietary supplementation of arecoline(1.0 mg/kg)increased growth parameters and intestinal growth in adult grass carp(P<0.05),enhanced digestion and absorption capacities(P<0.05),up-regulated muscarinic receptor 3(M3)mRNA level(P<0.05),increased the content of neuropeptide fish substance P(P<0.05),improved antioxidant capacity by activating the Keap1a/Nrf2signaling pathway(P<0.05),reduced intestinal mucosal permeability(P<0.05),and increased m RNA levels of tight junction(TJ)and adherent junction AJ-related proteins in fish by inhibiting the RhoA/ROCK signaling pathway(RhoA/ROCK/MLCK/NMII)(P<0.05).In addition,the appropriate arecoline supplementation for adult grass carp was determined to be 1.20,1.21,1.07,and 1.19 mg/kg based on percentage weight gain,lipase activity,serum diamine oxidase,and protein carbonyl,respectively.Overall,to the best of our knowledge,we investigated for the first time the effects and possible mechanisms of dietary arecoline on intestinal digestive and absorptive capacities and structural integrity in fish and evaluated the appropriate level of supplementation. | Na Yao Lin Feng Weidan Jiang Pei Wu Hongmei Ren Hequn Shi Ling Tang Shuwei Li Caimei Wu Hua Li Yang Liu Xiaoqiu Zhou | 2023 | Animal Nutrition2023,,4: | 0 |
