| 1 | Vitamin D and calcium are required at the time of denosumab administration during osteoporosis treatment显示文摘To evaluate the differences in outcomes of treatment with denosumab alone or denosumab combined with vitamin D and calcium supplementation in patients with primary osteoporosis. Patients were split into a denosumab monotherapy group(18 cases) or a denosumab plus vitamin D supplementation group(combination group; 23 cases). We measured serum bone alkaline phosphatase(BAP), tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase(TRACP)-5 b and urinary N-terminal telopeptide of type-I collagen(NTX) at baseline, 1 week, as well as at 1 month and 2, 4, 8 and 12 months. We also measured bone mineral density(BMD) of L1–4 lumbar vertebrae(L)-BMD and bilateral hips(H)-BMD at baseline and at 4, 8 and 12 months. There was no significant difference in patient background. TRACP-5 b and urinary NTX were significantly suppressed in both groups from 1 week to 12 months(except at 12 months for NTX). In the combination group, TRACP-5 b was significantly decreased compared with the denosumab monotherapy group at 2 and 4 months(P < 0.05).BAP was significantly suppressed in both groups at 2–12 months. L-BMD significantly increased at 8 and12 months(8.9%) in the combination group and at 4, 8 and 12 months(6.0%) in the denosumab monotherapy group, compared with those before treatment. H-BMD was significantly increased in the combination group(3.6%) compared with the denosumab group(1.2%) at 12 months(P < 0.05). | 2 | Cost-profit analysis for Japan-Russia and Japan-South Korea interconnectors显示文摘This paper describes the results of cost-profit analysis related to interconnectors for Japan-Russia and JapanSouth Korea based on the Asia International Grid Connection Study Group 2^(nd) report. The Group has been established in 2016 for conducting research on international electric power networks in Asia from the viewpoint of technology, investment and legal framework. 2^(nd) report of the Group was published in June 2018, examining the profitability of an interconnectors between Japan and neighboring countries. The Group has calculated expected profit from operation of these interconnectors.The Group has categorized interconnector business into four models from the survey of preceding and current business on grids and interconnectors. To clarify profitability, expected internal rate of return(IRR) was calculated for each business model based on estimated investment cost for each route. When interconnector is dedicated to specific power plants or suppliers and electricity can be sold at Japan wholesale market at 2016-2017 price level, positive IRR levels are expected in case that Free on Board(FOB) price lower than 7 JPY/kWh. | 3 | Plastome phylogenomic insights into the Sino-Japanese biogeography of Diabelia(Caprifoliaceae)显示文摘Understanding the causes of the Sino-Japanese disjunctions in plant taxa has been a central question in eastern Asian biogeography,with vicariance or long-distance dispersal often invoked to explain such patterns.Diabelia Landrein(Caprifoliaceae;Linnaeoideae)comprises four shrubby species with a Sino-Japanese disjunct distribution.The species diversification time within Diabelia,covering a long geological history of the formation process of the Sino-Japanese flora,dated back to the middle Oligocene,therefore,Diabelia would be an ideal model to elucidate the biogeographic patterns of Sino-Japanese disjunctions with climate fluctuation.In this study,we analyzed complete plastome sequence data for 28 individuals representing all four species of Diabelia.These 28 plastomes were found to be highly similar in overall size(156243-157578 bp),structure,gene order,and content.Our phylogenomic analysis of the plastomes supported a close relationship between Diabelia ionostachya(Nakai)Landrein&R.L.Barrett var.wenzhouensis(S.L.Zhou ex Landrein)Landrein from eastern China and Diabelia spathulata(Siebold&Zucc.)Landrein var.spathulata from Japan.Diabelia serrata(Siebold&Zucc.)Landrein was identified as sister to a population of Diabelia sanguinea(Makino)Landrein from Tochigi in central Japan and D.spathulata Landrein,from Toyama,central Japan.Most Diabelia lineages were estimated to have differentiated 8-28 Mya.Our results indicate that two independent vicariance events could explain the disjunction between Japan and Korea in the mid to late Miocene,and between Zhejiang and Japan in the early Miocene. | Hong-Xin Wang Michael J.Moore Russell L.Barrett Sven Landrein Shota Sakaguchi Masayuki Maki Jun Wen Hua-Feng Wang | 2020 | Journal of Systematics and Evolution2020,58,6: | 3 |

| 5 | Influence of texture feature size on spherical silicon solar cells显示文摘The effects of surface texturing on spherical silicon solar cells were investigated. Surface texturing for spherical Si solar cells was prepared by immersing p-type spherical Si crystals in KOH solution with stirring. Two kinds of texture feature sizes (1 and 5 μm pyramids) were prepared by changing stirring speed. After fabrication through our baseline processes, these cells were evaluated by solar cell performance and external quantum efficiency. The cell with 1 and 5 μm pyramids shows the short circuit current density (Jsc) value of 31.9 and 33.2 mA·cm-2, which is 9% and 13% relative increase compared to the cell without texturing. Furthermore, the cell with 5 μm pyramids has a higher open-circuit voltage (0.589 V) than the cell with 1 μm pyramids (0.577 V). | 7 | Route designs and cost estimation for Japan-Russia and Japan-South Korea interconnections显示文摘This paper describes route designs and cost estimation for possible interconnections between Japan-Russia and between Japan-South Korea based on the Asia International Grid Connection Study Group 2^(nd) report. The Group has conducted a desktop study to design several cable routes as possible options. To optimize the route, the group studied a wide range of open data, regarding sea depth, fishery zones, geographic condition, available transmission capacity in connecting points inside Japan and so on. The result of desktop study shows that it is possible to keep sea depth for planned routes less than 300 m and length for most of designed routes is less than 600 km. Compare to existing undersea cables in Europe, proposed routes are not challenging from technical and geological viewpoints.The study shows that investment cost range, including cost for grid enhancement inside Japan, is from around 200 bn JPY to 600 bn JPY, depending on the routes. | 8 | Successful surgical resection of ruptured cholangiolocellular carcinoma:A rare case of a primary hepatic tumor显示文摘Spontaneous rupture is one of the most fatal complications of hepatic tumors such as hepatocellular carcinoma. In fact, many studies have shown that the in-hospital and 30-d mortality rates are as high as 25%-100%. Cholangiolocellular carcinoma(Co CC) is a rare primary hepatic tumor, usually small in size, that is thought to originate from the ductules and/or canals of Hering. Here, we present a case of spontaneous rupture of a Co CC that was successfully resected by radical surgery. Although Co CC is a rare primary hepatic tumor, it demonstrates certain specific clinical features, including a better prognosis than for other primary liver cancers, and thus should be distinguished from those other cancers. | 9 | Combined thoracoscopic and endoscopic surgery for a large esophageal schwannoma显示文摘A 47-year-old woman presented to our hospital with complaints of dysphagia. Esophagogastroduodenoscopy identified a submucosal tumor in the left wall of the esophagus that was diagnosed as a benign schwannoma on biopsy. Computed tomography revealed a tumor of length 60 mm in the thoracic esophagus, with its cranial edge at the level of the aortic arch. On endoscopy, a submucosal tunnel was created 40 mm proximal to the cranial edge of the tumor, and its oral end was dissected from the mucosal and muscular layers. This was followed by the resection of the entire tumor by left-sided thoracoscopy. The esophageal defect was closed in layer by continuous suture from the thoracic side. Endoscopic closure was achieved by using clips. No postoperative complications were observed. Oral diet was resumed from postoperative day 7 and the patient was discharged on postoperative day 9. This combined approach has not been described for similar tumors. | 11 | Dynamical model of HEV with two planetary gear units and its application to optimization of energy consumption显示文摘A hybrid electric vehicle(HEV) that uses multiple planetary gear units with clutches as transmission system is advanced for the powertrain performance, because the operation of the clutches can lead to distinct operating modes, and the induced possible operating modes provide additional freedom to deal with the energy optimal control problem. Under each operating mode, the powertrain mechanical system has specific dynamical behavior. In order to develop model-based optimization schemes that can tackle the transient operations of the vehicle, exact dynamical modeling is investigated focusing on a hybrid powertrain system that uses a two-planetary-gear transmission box with two clutches. It shows that according to the states of the two clutches, the powertrain system has the power-split mode, parallel mode and the electric vehicle(EV) mode. | 15 | Two-year clinical outcome of denosumab treatment alone and in combination with teriparatide in Japanese treatment-naive postmenopausal osteoporotic women显示文摘This randomized prospective study aimed to evaluate the clinical outcome of denosumab treatment alone and in combination with teriparatide in treatment-naive postmenopausal Japanese female patients with osteoporosis. Thirty patients were randomly assigned to two groups:(1) denosumab group(denosumab alone, n=13); and(2) combination group(denosumab+teriparatide, n=17). Serum bone-specific alkaline phosphatase(BAP), serum tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase(TRACP)-5b, urinary cross-linked N-terminal telopeptides of type I collagen(NTX), and bone mineral density(BMD) of L1–4 lumbar vertebrae(L-BMD)and bilateral total hips(H-BMD) were determined at the first visit and at various time points up to 24 months post-treatment to determine percentage changes. Serum TRACP-5b and urinary NTX were equally suppressed in both groups and maintained at low levels, with slight increases at 12, 18 and 24 months. BAP was significantly decreased in both groups from 4 to 24 months, with significant differences between the groups at 4, 8 and 15 months(P<0.05). L-BMD was significantly increased at most time points in both groups, with a significant difference between the combination group and denosumab group at 24 months(17.2% increase versus 9.6% increase; P<0.05). There was no significant difference in H-BMD between the two groups, although the levels tended to be higher in the combination group than in the denosumab group(9.5% increase versus 5.6% increase).
