1Raman Spectroscopy and Imaging of Graphene显示文摘Graphene has many unique properties that make it an ideal material for fundamental studies as well as for potential applications.Here we review recent results on the Raman spectroscopy and imaging of graphene.We show that Raman spectroscopy and imaging can be used as a quick and unambiguous method to determine the number of graphene layers.The strong Raman signal of single layer graphene compared to graphite is explained by an interference enhancement model.We have also studied the effect of substrates,the top layer deposition,the annealing process,as well as folding(stacking order)on the physical and electronic properties of graphene.Finally,Raman spectroscopy of epitaxial graphene grown on a SiC substrate is presented and strong compressive strain on epitaxial graphene is observed.The results presented here are highly relevant to the application of graphene in nano-electronic devices and help in developing a better understanding of the physical and electronic properties of graphene.Zhenhua Ni Yingying Wang Ting Yu Zexiang Shen 2008Nano Research2008,1,4:51
2Measurement and Interpretation of Connectivity of Chinese Cities in World City Network,2010显示文摘This is an empirical paper that measures and interprets the position of Chinese cities in the world city network in 2010. Building on a specification of the world city network as a′interlocking network′in which business services firms play the crucial role in city network formation, information is gathered about the presence of global service firms in cities. This information is converted into data to provide the′service value′of a city for a firm′s provision of corporate services in a 526(cities)×175(firms) matrix. These data are then used as the input to the interlocking network model in order to measure cities′connectivity and its predominant geographical orientation. 3Anti-SARS-CoV-2 activities in vitro of Shuanghuanglian preparations and bioactive ingredients显示文摘Human infection with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)causes coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)and there is no cure currently.The 3CL protease(3CLpro)is a highly conserved protease which is indispensable for CoVs replication,and is a promising target for development of broad-spectrum antiviral drugs.In this study we investigated the anti-SARS-CoV-2 potential of Shuanghuanglian preparation,a Chinese traditional patent medicine with a long history for treating respiratory tract infection in China.We showed that either the oral liquid of Shuanghuanglian,the lyophilized powder of Shuanghuanglian for injection or their bioactive components dose-dependently inhibited SARS-CoV-23CLpro as well as the replication of SARS-CoV-2 in Vero E6 cells.Baicalin and baicalein,two ingredients of Shuanghuanglian,were characterized as the first noncovalent,nonpeptidomimetic inhibitors of SARS-CoV-23CLpro and exhibited potent antiviral activities in a cell-based system.Remarkably,the binding mode of baicalein with SARS-CoV-23CLpro determined by X-ray protein crystallography was distinctly different from those of known 3CLpro inhibitors.Baicalein was productively ensconced in the core of the substrate-binding pocket by interacting with two catalytic residues,the crucial S1/S2 subsites and the oxyanion loop,acting as a“shield”in front of the catalytic dyad to effectively prevent substrate access to the catalytic dyad within the active site.Overall,this study provides an example for exploring the in vitro potency of Chinese traditional patent medicines and effectively identifying bioactive ingredients toward a specific target,and gains evidence supporting the in vivo studies of Shuanghuanglian oral liquid as well as two natural products for COVID-19 treatment.Hai-xia Su Sheng Yao Wen-feng Zhao Min-jun Li Jia Liu Wei-juan Shang Hang Xie Chang-qiang Ke Hang-chen Hu Mei-na Gao Kun-qian Yu Hong Liu Jing-shan Shen Wei Tang Lei-ke Zhang Geng-fu Xiao Li Ni Dao-wen Wang Jian-ping Zuo Hua-liang Jiang Fang Bai Yan Wu Yang Ye Ye-chun Xu 2020Acta Pharmacologica Sinica2020,41,9:32

5Correlation of human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 expression with clinicopathological characteristics and prognosis in gastric cancer显示文摘AIM:To investigate human epidermal growth factor receptor 2(HER2) gene amplification and protein expression in Chinese patients with resectable gastric cancer and the association with clinicopathological characteristics and survival.METHODS:One hundred and ninety-seven gastric cancer patients who underwent curative surgery procedures were enrolled into this study.HER2 gene amplification and protein expression were examined using fluorescence in-situ hybridization(FISH) and immunohistochemistry(IHC) analysis on formalin-fixed paraffinembedded gastric cancer samples from all patients.For scoring,Hofmann's HER2 gastric cancer scoring system was adopted.All cases showing IHC3+ or FISH positiv-ity were defined as HER2 positive.Patient clinicopathological data and survival information were collected.Finally,χ 2 statistical analysis was performed to analyze the HER2 positivity rate amongst the subgroups with different clinicopathological characteristics including;gender,age,tumor location,Lauren classification,differentiation,TNM staging,depth of invasion,lymph node metastases and distant metastasis.The probability of survival for different subgroups with different clinicopathological characteristics was calculated using the Kaplan-Meier method and survival curves plotted using log rank inspection.RESULTS:According to Hofmann's HER2 gastric cancer scoring criteria,31 cases(15.74%) were identified as HER2 gene amplified and 19 cases(9.64%) were scored as strongly positive for HER2 membrane staining(3+),25 cases(12.69%) were moderately positive(2+) and 153 cases(77.66%) were HER2 negative(0/1+).The concordance rate between IHC and FISH analyses was 88.83%(175/197).Thirty-six cases were defined as positive for HER2 gene amplification and/or protein expression,with 24 of these cases being eligible for Herceptin treatment according to United States recommendations,and 29 of these cases eligible according to EU recommendations.Highly consistent results were detected between IHC3+,IHC0/1 and FISH(73.68% and 95.42%),but low consistency was observed between IHC2+ and FISH(40.00%).The positivity rates in intestinal type and well-differentiated gastric cancer were higher than those in diffuse/mixed type and poorly-differentiated gastric cancer respectively(28.57% vs 13.43%,P = 0.0103;37.25% vs 11.64%,P < 0.0001),but were not correlated with gender,age,tumor location or TNM stage,depth of invasion,lymph node metastases and distant metastasis.In poorly-differentiated gastric cancer patients,those without lymph node metastasis showed a higher HER2 positivity rate than those with lymph node metastasis(26.47% vs 7.14%,P = 0.0021).This association was not present in thosepatients with well-differentiated gastric cancer(28.57% vs 43.33%,P = 0.2832).Within our patient cohort,26 cases were lost to follow-up.The median survival time for the remaining 171 patients was 18 mo.The median survival times of the HER2 positive and negative groups were 17 and 18.5 mo respectively.Overall survival was not significantly different between HER2-positive and negative groups(χ 2 = 0.9157,P = 0.3386),but in patients presenting well-differentiated tumors,the overall survival of the HER2-positive group was significantly worse than that of the HER2-negative group(P = 0.0123).In contrast,patients with poorly differentiated and diffuse/mixed subtype gastric cancers showed no significant differences in overall survival associated with HER2.Furthermore,the median survival time of the HER2 positive group did not show any statistically significant differences when compared to the subgroups of gender,age,tumor location,TNM classification,lymph node metastases and distant metastasis.CONCLUSION:Patients with intestinal type gastric cancer(GC),well-differentiated GC and poorly-differentiated GC without lymph node metastasis,may all represent suitable candidates for targeted therapy using Herceptin.Chao He Xue-Yi Bian Xing-Zhi Ni Dan-Ping Shen Yan-Ying Shen Hua Liu Zhi-Yong Shen Qiang Liu 2013World Journal of Gastroenterology2013,19,14:28

11Dendritic Cells Transduced with SOCS1 Gene Exhibit Regulatory DC Properties and Prolong Allograft Survival显示文摘SOCS1 is a key regulator of cytokine signaling and is important for maintaining balance in the immune system. It is thought to participate in negative feedback loops in cytokine signaling and may be an important signal for the regulation of dendritic cell (DC) maturation. However, it remains unclear whether DCs transduced with SOCS1 exhibit characteristics of regulatory DCs and induce allogeneic T-cell hyporesponsiveness. In this study, we constructed adenoviral vector coding SOCS1 (Ad-SOCS1) that can efficiently increase SOCS1 gene expression in bone marrow-derived dendritic cells. DCs transduced with Ad-SOCS1 (DC-SOCS1) expressed low levels of costimulatory and MHC molecules, were resistant to maturation and activation stimulation, induced allogeneic T-cell hyporesponsiveness, and promoted the generation of regulatory-like T cells in vitro. DC-SOCS1 pretreatment significantly prolonged the survival of allografts and led to a substantial increase in the generation of regulatory T cells. 14Therapeutic Efficacy Observation on Combining Intermittent Traction with Warm Needling for Cervical Radiculopathy显示文摘Objective:To observe the clinical effect of combined intermittent traction with warm needling for cervical radiculopathy.Methods:A total of 100 cases with cervical radiculopathy were randomly allocated into an observation group and a control group.Cases in the observation group were treated with intermittent traction coupled with warm needling,whereas cases in the control group were treated with warm needling alone.The therapeutic efficacy was observed after 20-day treatment.Results:The markedly effective rate in total was 90.0%in the observation group,versus 78.0%in the control group,showing a statistically significant difference(P<0.05).Conclusion:Combining intermittent traction with warm needling is safe,convenient and significantly effective for cervical radiculopathy.It is worth further popularization in clinical practice.Ni Chun-chu Yao Li-mei Shen Zhi-fang Yan Yu-qin Han Chou-ping 2013Journal of Acupuncture and Tuina Science2013,11,6:16
15Adaptive double chain quantum genetic algorithm for constrained optimization problems显示文摘Optimization problems are often highly constrained and evolutionary algorithms(EAs)are effective methods to tackle this kind of problems. To further improve search efficiency and convergence rate of EAs, this paper presents an adaptive double chain quantum genetic algorithm(ADCQGA) for solving constrained optimization problems. ADCQGA makes use of doubleindividuals to represent solutions that are classified as feasible and infeasible solutions. Fitness(or evaluation) functions are defined for both types of solutions. Based on the fitness function, three types of step evolution(SE) are defined and utilized for judging evolutionary individuals. An adaptive rotation is proposed and used to facilitate updating individuals in different solutions.To further improve the search capability and convergence rate, ADCQGA utilizes an adaptive evolution process(AEP), adaptive mutation and replacement techniques. ADCQGA was first tested on a widely used benchmark function to illustrate the relationship between initial parameter values and the convergence rate/search capability. Then the proposed ADCQGA is successfully applied to solve other twelve benchmark functions and five well-known constrained engineering design problems. Multi-aircraft cooperative target allocation problem is a typical constrained optimization problem and requires efficient methods to tackle. 16Estimation of the electromechanical characteristics of power systems based on a revised stochastic subspace method and the stabilization diagram显示文摘Estimating low-frequency oscillation modes and the corresponding mode shapes based on ambient data from WAMS measurements has a promising prospect in power system analysis and control.Based on the stochastic subspace method,this paper proposes a revised stochastic subspace method by introducing reference channels,which can estimate the modes and the mode shapes simultaneously with great computational efficiency.Meanwhile,the accuracy of the estimated results is not degraded.To discriminate the real modes from the spurious ones,the stabilization diagram is introduced.A novel algorithm is designed to deal with the stabilization diagram which can detect the real modes automatically.Tests conducted on the IEEE-118 system indicate that the proposed method has good performance in terms of both computational efficiency and accuracy,and has the potential of being used on-line.NI JingMin SHEN Chen LIU Feng 2012Science China(Technological Sciences)2012,55,6:12
17Pediatric reference intervals in China(PRINCE):design and rationale for a large,multicenter collaborative cross-sectional study显示文摘There is a lack of accurate pediatric reference intervals(RIs) in China, with most commonly used RIs established without consideration of the effect of age and gender. The Pediatric Reference Intervals in China(PRINCE) project aims to establish and verify pediatric RIs for 31 common laboratory measurands.The project will be a large, multicenter cross-sectional study:14,490 healthy children and adolescents aged up to 19 years will be surveyed by 10 children's hospitals and one pediatric department of a university hospital. To evaluate the feasibility and efficiency of the study methods, 602 children were surveyed in the pilot phase of the PRINCE study in April 2017: it found that some measurands were distinctly age dependent and that there were differences between values for males and females. The results of the pilot study affirmed the necessity of the PRINCE project for Chinese pediatrics. The pilot also indicated potential difficulties in the full survey, e.g., difficulties in recruiting children aged under 3 years and insufficient collection of blood samples from infants. 18Variable frequency of pulse hydraulic fracturing for improving permeability in coal seam显示文摘Variable frequency,a new pattern of pulse hydraulic fracturing,is presented for improving permeability in coal seam.A variable frequency pulse hydraulic fracturing testing system was built,the mould with triaxial loading was developed.Based on the monitor methods of pressure sensor and acoustic emission,the trials of two patterns of pulse hydraulic fracturing of single frequency and variable frequency were carried out,and at last fracturing mechanism was analyzed.The results show that the effect of variable frequency on fracture extension is better than that of single frequency based on the analysis of macroscopic figures and AE.And the shortage of single frequency is somewhat remedied when the frequency is variable.Under variable frequency,the pressure process can be divided into three stages:low frequency band,pressure stability band and high frequency band,and rupture pressure of the sample is smaller than that of the condition of single frequency.Based on the Miner fatigue theory,the effect of different loading sequences on sample rupture is discussed and the results show that it is better to select the sequence of low frequency at first and then high frequency.Our achievements can give a basis for the improvement and optimization of the pulse hydraulic fracturing technology.Li Quangui Lin Baiquan Zhai Cheng Ni Guanhua Peng Shen Sun Chen Cheng Yanying 2013International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2013,23,6:12
19Inflammatory biomarkers and cerebral small vessel disease:a community-based cohort study显示文摘Background and purpose Although inflammation has been proposed to be a candidate risk factor for cerebral small vessel disease(CSVD),previous findings remain largely inconclusive and vary according to disease status and study designs.The present study aimed to investigate possible associations between inflammatory biomarkers and MRI markers of CSVD.Methods A group of 15 serum inflammatory biomarkers representing a variety of those putatively involved in the inflammatory cascade was grouped and assessed in a cross-sectional study involving 960 stroke-free subjects.The biomarker panel was grouped as follows:systemic inflammation(high-sensitivity C reactive protein(hsCRP),interleukin 6 and tumour necrosis factorα),endothelial-related inflammation(E-selectin,P-selectin,intercellular adhesion molecule 1,vascular cell adhesion molecule 1(VCAM-1),CD40 ligand,lipoprotein-associated phospholipase A2,chitinase-3-like 1 protein and total homocysteine(tHCY))and media-related inflammation(matrix metalloproteinases 2,3 and 9,and osteopontin).The association(s)between different inflammatory groups and white matter hyperintensity(WMH),lacunes,cerebral microbleeds(CMBs),enlarged perivascular space(PVS)and the number of deep medullary veins(DMVs)were investigated.Results High levels of serum endothelial-related inflammatory biomarkers were associated with both increased WMH volume(R^(2)=0.435,p=0.015)and the presence of lacunes(R^(2)=0.254,p=0.027).Backward stepwise elimination of individual inflammatory biomarkers for endothelial-related biomarkers revealed that VCAM-1 was significant for WMH(β=0.063,p=0.005)and tHCY was significant for lacunes(β=0.069,p<0.001).There was no association between any group of inflammatory biomarkers and CMBs or PVS.Systemic inflammatory biomarkers were associated with fewer DMVs(R^(2)=0.032,p=0.006),and backward stepwise elimination of individual systemic-related inflammatory biomarkers revealed that hsCRP(β=−0.162,p=0.007)was significant.Conclusion WMH and lacunes were associated with endothelial-related inflammatory biomarkers,and fewer DMVs were associated with systemic inflammation,thus suggesting different underlying inflammatory processes and mechanisms.Ding-Ding Zhang Yuan Cao Jing-Yu Mu Yi-Ming Liu Feng Gao Fei Han Fei-Fei Zhai Li-Xin Zhou Jun Ni Ming Yao Ming-Li Li Zheng-Yu Jin Shu-Yang Zhang Li-Ying Cui Yong Shen Yi-Cheng Zhu 2022Stroke & Vascular Neurology2022,7,4:11
20LORELEI-LIKE GPI-ANCHORED PROTEINS 2/3 Regulate Pollen Tube Growth as Chaperones and Coreceptors for ANXUR/BUPS Receptor Kinases in Arabidopsis显示文摘Pollen tube growth is crucial for successful fertilization.In Arabidopsis thaliana,the ANXUR(ANX)/BUPS receptor kinase complex controls and maintains pollen tube growth in response to autocrine rapid alkalin-ization factor 4/19(RALF4/19)signaling;however,the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying the ANX/BUPS-mediated regulation of pollen tube growth remain unclear.In this study,we found that pollen-specific LORELEI-like GPI-anchored proteins 2 and 3(LLG2/3)promote pollen tube growth in vitro and in vivo.LLG2/3 interacte with ANX/BUPS in a RALF4-concentration-dependent manner,suggesting that ANX/BUPS and LLG2/3 might form a receptor-coreceptor complex for perceiving RALF peptide signals.Disruption of the ANX/BUPS-LLG2/3 interaction led to the cytoplasmic retention of ANX1/2,in either llg2/3 knockdown mutants or in anx1/2 mutants lacking the J region,which mediates the ANX/BUPS-LLG2/3 interaction.Moreover,we found that RALF4 induced the production of reactive oxygen species(ROS),which stimulate pollen tube growth and reduce pollen burst rate.ROS levels are reduced in the pollen tubes of LLG2/3 RNAi lines,and application of exogenous H2O2 could partially rescue the defective pollen tube growth of LLG2/3 RNAi lines.Taken together,our study identifies LLG2/3 as novel regulatory components of pollen tube growth,and shows that they chaperone ANX/BUPS for secretion to the apical plasma membrane of pollen tube and act as coreceptors of ANX/BUPS in the acti-vation of ROS production for promoting pollen tube growth.Hanqian Feng Chen Liu Rong Fu Minmin Zhang Hui Li Lianping Shen Qiqi Wei Xiang Sun Lin Xu Bin Ni Chao Li 2019Molecular Plant2019,12,12:10
