| 1 | High-speed image reconstruction for optically sectioned,super-resolution structured illumination microscopy显示文摘Super-resolution structured illumination microscopy(SR-SIM)is an outstanding method for visualizing the subcellular dynamics in living cells.To date,by using elaborately designed systems and algorithms,SR-SIM can achieve rapid,optically sectioned,SR observation with hundreds to thousands of time points.However,real-time observation is still out of reach for most SIM setups as conventional algorithms for image reconstruction involve a heavy computing burden.To address this limitation,an accelerated reconstruction algorithm was developed by implementing a simplified workflow for SR-SIM,termed joint space and frequency reconstruction.This algorithm results in an 80-fold improvement in reconstruction speed relative to the widely used Wiener-SIM.Critically,the increased processing speed does not come at the expense of spatial resolution or sectioning capability,as demonstrated by live imaging of microtubule dynamics and mitochondrial tubulation. | Zhaojun Wang Tianyu Zhao Huiwen Hao Yanan Cai Kun Feng Xue Yun Yansheng Liang Shaowei Wang Yujie Sun Piero RBianco Kwangsung Oh Ming Lei | 2022 | Advanced Photonics2022,4,2: | 9 |
| 2 | Carbon-containing electrospun nanofibers for lithium-sulfur battery:Current status and future directions显示文摘Lithium-sulfur batteries(LSBs)have become promising next-generation energy storage technologies for electric vehicles and portable electronics,due to its excellent theoretical specific energy.However,the low conductivity of sulfur species,notorious lithium dendrites,the severe'shuttle effect'of polysulfides(LiPSs)and the inferior kinetic reaction for LiPSs/Li_(2)S conversion during discharge-charge have seriously hindered their practical application,and also pose potential safety hazards.Owing to their superior porous architectures,high specific surface areas,excellent structural designability,functional modifiability,abundant active sites and flexibility of carbon-containing electrospun nanofibers(CENFs),they exhibited the superior characteristics that can simultaneously solve the above issues.In this review,we summarize the recent progress and application of CENFs in LSBs.First,we provide a brief introduction to the structure and composition controlled of carbon nanofibers by electrospinning.We then review progress in recent developments of CENFs for LSBs including cathodes,anodes,separators,and interlayers.We focus on how to solve practical issues that arise when the CENFs are applied to various parts of LSBs,and the relevant working mechanisms are described,from high sulfur loading and Li dendrites suppression to LiPSs’confinement and conversion.Finally,we summarize and propose the existing challenges and future prospects of CENFs,for the design and architecture of electrochemical components in Li-S energy storage systems. | Zhaoming Tong Liang Huang Wen Lei Haijun Zhang Shaowei Zhang | 2021 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2021,30,3: | 4 |
| 3 | Timely renal replacement therapy linked to better outcome in patients with sepsis-associated acute kidney injury显示文摘Background:Recent studies suggest that acute kidney injury(AKI)can be treated with renal replacement therapy(RRT).However,its benefits to patients with sepsis-associated AKI(SA-AKI),which is linked to high mortality and morbidity rates,remain under debate.The aim of this study was to compare the outcomes of different RRT strategies for patients with SA-AKI.Methods:This retrospective study evaluated patients who were admitted to the hospital with sepsis and devel-oped SA-AKI during hospitalization from 1st January 2014 to 31st January 2019.Mortality,renal recovery,and systemic organ function at 90 days following admission were compared between the RRT group(RG)and non-RRT group(NRG),as well as the early-RRT group(EG)and delayed-RRT group(DG).The groups were defined according to the time from admission to RRT initiation(criterion 1,EG1 and DG1)and Kidney Disease Improving Global Outcomes(KDIGO)classification(criterion 2,EG2 and DG2).Categorical and continuous variables were compared using the chi-squared test or Fisher’s exact test and Student’s t-test or Wilcoxon test.Kaplan-Meier curves were constructed to determine the unadjusted survival rates for the different subgroups.Results:A total of 116 patients were included in this study;of those,38 received RRT and 46 expired within 90 days.Among different strategies of RRT,there were no significant differences found in 90-day mortality(RG vs.NRG:��2=0.610,P=0.435;EG1 vs.DG1:��2=0.835,P=0.360;EG2 vs.DG2:��2=0.022,P=0.899)and renal recovery.However,the values of change in sequential organ failure assessment(ΔSOFA)max-min of patients in the EG and RG were significantly higher than those recorded in the NRG(ΔSOFA RG=7.0,ΔSOFA NRG=3.60,ΔSOFA EG1=9.00,ΔSOFA EG2=6.30;P<0.050).Also,the 90-day renal recovery in the EG was better than that noted in the DG with criterion 1(87.5%vs.38.5%,respectively,��2=10.425,P=0.032),suggesting that RRT(especially timely RRT)may be beneficial to the restoration of systemic organ function in patients with SA-AKI.Conclusion:RRT did not reduce the 90-day mortality among patients with SA-AKI.However,timely RRT may benefit the restoration of systemic organ function,thereby improving the quality of life of patients. | Yiwen Fan Liang Chen Shaowei Jiang Yingying Huang Yuxin Leng Chengjin Gao | 2022 | Journal of Intensive Medicine2022,2,3: | 2 |
| 4 | Test analysis on prestressed concrete composite beams with steel boxes subjected to torsion and combined flexure and torsion显示文摘While modern prestressed techniques have improved the torsion properties of high-strength concrete (HSC) composite beams with prestressed steel (PS) boxes, no research has been reported in either the national or international literature on the anti-torque and composite torque properties of this type of beam. With the aim of understanding the torque properties of these beams, this paper presents results of ten comprehensive tests; three of these were based on stirrup spacings and prestressing levels as the main parameters, while the other seven were based on torsional rates. The torsion tests were conducted on the results which established several key parameters, including curves of constant torsion, strain curves of steel torsion, strain distribution of steel beams and concrete, curves of bending-moment and mid-span deflection, as well as cross strain distribution.The prestressing impact-factor method was adopted to deduce semiempirical equations for cracking torque in such composite beams. Furthermore, this involves the use of the equation of ultimate torque based on truss-model-theory of the distortion angle, the calculated results show good agreement with the measured values. | 5 | Immobilization of urease in metal–organic frameworks via biomimetic mineralization and its application in urea degradation显示文摘Enzyme immobilization has been accepted as an efficient technique for improving the stability and recyclability of enzymes.Herein,biomimetic mineralization strategy was employed to achieve the immobilization of urease in a type of metal–organic frameworks(zeolite imidazolate framework-8,ZIF-8),and the immobilized enzyme urease@ZIF-8 was systematically evaluated for its structure,activity,stability and recyclability,using the hydrolysis of urea as a model.The entrapment of urease was found to be realized in a synchronous manner with the formation of ZIF-8 crystal.The loading of urease in ZIF-8 was measured to be ca.10.6%through the bicinchoninic acid(BCA)protein assay.The encapsulated urease could efficiently maintain its native conformation,which endowed the immobilized urease with excellent activity and stability,even in harsh conditions(e.g.,in the presence of trypsin,acidic or alkali conditions,or at high temperature).Further,urease@ZIF-8 exhibited good recyclability during the degradation of urea,in which it could keep 58.86%of initial activity after being used for 5 cycles.Thus,biomimetic mineralization could be potentially utilized as a promising method to prepare immobilized ureases with superior activity,stability and recyclability,thereby facilitating the construction of efficient catalysts for industrial biocatalysis and biosensing. | Xiao Liang Qing Li Zhiyuan Shi Shaowei Bai Quanshun Li | 2020 | Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2020,28,8: | 1 |

| 16 | Response of tomato growth to continuous elevated CO_(2)concentration 2 under controlled environment显示文摘CO_(2)fumigation has been extensively used in greenhouses cultivation to enhance crop yield.The effects under the precise level of elevated CO_(2)(e[CO_(2)])on crop morphology,yield,and fruit quality remain largely elusive yet.To explore the response of plant growth to the continuous RCPs(Representative Concentration Pathways)projected CO_(2)concentration[CO_(2)],tomato(Hezuo 908)plants were grown under ambient CO_(2)(a[CO_(2)],462μmol/mol)and e[CO_(2)](550,700,850 and 1000μmol/mol):named as EC550,EC_(700),EC_(850),and EC_(1000),respectively,under uniform environmental condition for two planting seasons.Collective growth of tomato plants(plant height,stem diameter,and leaf area index)was significantly enhanced under EC_(700)and showed a slightly negative response under EC_(850).The optimum yield was stimulated under EC_(700)by 74.05%and 55.91%,while maximum total dry weight(DW_(t))was enhanced under EC_(1000)by 58.23%and 39.78%during autumn-winter and spring-summer planting seasons,respectively,as compared to a[CO_(2)].The greatest yield and least DWt stimulated under EC_(700)for both seasons indicated that EC_(700)improved the ability of the tomato plants to translocate carbohydrates to fruits.Optimum water use efficiency related to yield(WUE_(y))was enhanced by 55.91-210.87%under EC_(700)compared to a[CO_(2)].The titratable acid(TA)was improved by 19.94%(EC_(700)),29.17%(EC_(850)),and 97.92%(EC_(1000)),and the lycopene(Lp)was increased by 2.22%(EC_(700))and reduced by 2.28%(EC_(1000)).Thus,the overall optimum impact on tomato growth was explored under EC_(700).Super e[CO_(2)]did not positively influence the tomato growth process and yield under adequate water and fertilizer conditions.The present study results are beneficial for greenhouse crop production and might be used as a reference to validate the climate change influence modeling. | Muhammad Akhlaq Chuan Zhang Haofang Yan Mingxiong Ou Wencheng Zhang Shaowei Liang Rana Muhammad Adnan Ikram | 2022 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2022,15,6: | 0 |
