1Fabrication of NiO coated SiO_2 and SiO_2 coated NiO for the removal of Pb^(2+) ions显示文摘We have prepared silica,SiO2coated NiO and NiO coated SiO2by sol-gel method.The physicochemical properties of the desired materials were investigated by surface charge properties,scanning electron microscopy(SEM),energy dispersive X-ray(EDX) spectroscopy,surface area measurements and X-ray diffraction(XRD) analyses.The point of zero charge(PZC) of the solid was determined by the salt addition method.In coated materials,two PZC values were noted representing the surface charge of their counterparts.The SEM image of SiO2coated NiO displays a uniform coating of silica on the surface of NiO whereas in case of NiO coated SiO2,a honeycomb like appearance was observed with highly porous structures.In the diffractograms of NiO,the characteristic peaks were suppressed in NiO coated silica however,no diffraction peak could be seen in SiO2coated NiO.Batch adsorption technique was applied for the removal of Pb2+ions from aqueous solution.The sorption trend for Pb2+ions was observed in the order of NiO coated SiO2> SiO2coated NiO > NiO > SiO2.This trend confirms that the coated materials have more sorption capacities than their parent counterparts.Saba Noor Muhammad Waseem Umer Rashid Muhammad Anis-ur-Rehman Wajid Rehman Khalid Mahmood 2014Chinese Chemical Letters2014,25,5:1

3Transmitter-Receiver Path Selection for Cell Range Extension Using Multi-Hop D2D显示文摘Conventional approach of dealing with more users per coverage area in cellular networks implies densifying the amount of(Access Point)AP which will eventually result in a larger carbon footprint.In this paper,we propose a base station off-loading and cell range extension(CRE)scheme based on multi-hop device-to-device(MHD2D)path selection between transmitter and receiver node.The paper also provides derivations of upper and lower bounds for energy efficiency,capacity,and transmit power.The proposed path selection scheme is inspired by the foraging behavior of honey bees.We present the algorithm as a modified variant of the artificial bee colony algorithm(MVABC).The proposed optimization problem is modeled as a minimization problem where we optimize the Energy Efficiency(EE).The proposed path selection MVABC is compared with the Genetic Algorithm(GA)and also with classical artificial bee colony(ABC)through simulations and statistical analysis.The student’s t-test,p-value,and standard error of means(SEM)clearly show that MVABC based path selection out-performs the GA and classical ABC schemes.MVABC based approach is 66%more efficient when compared with classic ABC and about 62%efficient when compared with GA based scheme.Farah Akif Kiran Sultan Aqdas N.Malik Ijaz M.Qureshi Saba Mahmood 2021Computers, Materials & Continua2021,,8:0
