2Risk factors for bleeding after endoscopic submucosal dissection of colorectal neoplasms显示文摘AIM:To investigate the risk factors for delayed bleeding following endoscopic submucosal dissection(ESD)treatment for colorectal neoplasms.METHODS:We retrospectively reviewed the medical records of 317 consecutive patients with 325 lesions who underwent ESD for superficial colorectal neoplasms at our hospital from January 2009 to June2013.Delayed post-ESD bleeding was defined as bleeding that resulted in overt hematochezia 6 h to 30d after ESD and the observation of bleeding spots as confirmed by repeat colonoscopy or a required blood transfusion.We analyzed the relationship between risk factors for delayed bleeding following ESD and the following factors using univariate and multivariate analyses:age,gender,presence of comorbidities,use of antithrombotic drugs,use of intravenous heparin,resected specimen size,lesion size,lesion location,lesion morphology,lesion histology,the device used,procedure time,and the presence of significant bleeding during ESD.RESULTS:Delayed post-ESD bleeding was found in14 lesions from 14 patients(4.3%of all specimens,4.4%patients).Patients with episodes of delayed postESD bleeding had a mean hemoglobin decrease of2.35 g/dL.All episodes were treated successfully using endoscopic hemostatic clips.Emergency surgery was not required in any of the cases.Blood transfusion was needed in 1 patient(0.3%).Univariate analysis revealed that lesions located in the cecum(P=0.012)and the presence of significant bleeding during ESD(P=0.024)were significantly associated with delayed post-ESD bleeding.The risk of delayed bleeding was higher for larger lesion sizes,but this trend was not statistically significant.Multivariate analysis revealed that lesions located in the cecum(OR=7.26,95%CI:1.99-26.55,P=0.003)and the presence of significant bleeding during ESD(OR=16.41,95%CI:2.60-103.68,P=0.003)were independent risk factors for delayed post-ESD bleeding.CONCLUSION:Location in the cecum and significant bleeding during ESD predispose patients to delayed post-procedural bleeding.Therefore,careful and additional management is recommended for these patients.Sho Suzuki Akiko Chino Teruhito Kishihara Naoyuki Uragami Yoshiro Tamegai Takanori Suganuma Junko Fujisaki Masaaki Matsuura Takao Itoi Takuji Gotoda Masahiro Igarashi Fuminori Moriyasu 2014World Journal of Gastroenterology2014,20,7:21

5Silver Nanowire Electrodes: Conductivity Improvement Without Post-treatment and Application in Capacitive Pressure Sensors显示文摘Transparent electrode based on silver nanowires(Ag NWs) emerges as an outstanding alternative of indium tin oxide film especially for flexible electronics. However, the conductivity of Ag NWs transparent electrode is still dramatically limited by the contact resistance between nanowires at high transmittance. Polyvinylpyrrolidone(PVP) layer adsorbed on the nanowire surface acts as an electrically insulating barrier at wire–wire junctions, and some devastating post-treatment methods are proposed to reduce or eliminate PVP layer, which usually limit the application of the substrates susceptible to heat or pressure and burden the fabrication with high-cost, time-consuming, or inefficient processes. In this work, a simple and rapid pre-treatment washing method was proposed to reduce the thickness of PVP layer from 13.19 to0.96 nm and improve the contact between wires. Ag NW electrodes with sheet resistances of 15.6 and 204 X sq-1have been achieved at transmittances of 90 and 97.5 %, respectively. This method avoided any post-treatments and popularized the application of high-performance Ag NW transparent electrode on more substrates. 6The Surface Coating of Commercial LiFePO_4 by Utilizing ZIF-8 for High Electrochemical Performance Lithium Ion Battery显示文摘The requirement of energy-storage equipment needs to develop the lithium ion battery(LIB) with high electrochemical performance. The surface modification of commercial LiFePO_4(LFP) by utilizing zeolitic imidazolate frameworks-8(ZIF-8) offers new possibilities for commercial LFP with high electrochemical performances.In this work, the carbonized ZIF-8(C_(ZIF-8)) was coated on the surface of LFP particles by the in situ growth and carbonization of ZIF-8. Transmission electron microscopy indicates that there is an approximate 10 nm coating layer with metal zinc and graphite-like carbon on the surface of LFP/C_(ZIF-8) sample. The N_2 adsorption and desorptionisotherm suggests that the coating layer has uniform and simple connecting mesopores. As cathode material, LFP/C_(ZIF-8) cathode-active material delivers a discharge specific capacity of 159.3 m Ah g^(-1) at 0.1 C and a discharge specific energy of 141.7 m Wh g^(-1) after 200 cycles at 5.0 C(the retention rate is approximate 99%). These results are attributed to the synergy improvement of the conductivity,the lithium ion diffusion coefficient, and the degree of freedom for volume change of LFP/C_(ZIF-8) cathode. 8Electrodeposition and growth mechanism of preferentially orientated nanotwinned Cu on silicon wafer substrate显示文摘Homogeneous columnar Cu film with fully embedded nanotwins was successfully fabricated on Ti/Cu seed layer on silicon wafer. The nanotwins with thickness of tens of nanometers are generally parallel to the silicon surface, showing a strong(111) preferred orientation. The acid concentration was found to be important in influencing the formation of nanoscale twins. By adjusting the acid concentration,the nanotwins can be induced from the top columnar grain to middle columnar grain and reach the bottom equiaxed grain, and a microstructural transformation model was given. A theory focusing on the cathode overpotential was proposed to reveal the effect of acid concentration on the growth mechanism of nanoscale twins. 9Broccoli sprout extract induces detoxification-related gene expression and attenuates acute liver injury显示文摘AIM: To investigate the effects of broccoli sprout extract(BSEx) on liver gene expression and acute liver injury in the rat.METHODS: First, the effects of BSEx on liver gene expression were examined. Male rats were divided into two groups. The Control group was fed the AIN-76 diet, and the BSEx group was fed the AIN-76 diet containing BSEx. After a 10-d feeding period, rats were sacrificed and their livers were used for DNA microarray and realtime reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR) analyses. Next, the effects of BSEx on acute liver injury were examined. In experiments using acute liver injury models, 1000 mg/kg acetaminophen(APAP) or 350 mg/kg D-galactosamine(D-Gal N) was used to induce injury. These male rats were divided into four groups: Control, BSEx, Inducer(APAP or D-Gal N), and Inducer+BSEx. The feeding regimens were identical for the two analyses. Twenty-four hours following APAP administration via p.o. or D-Gal N administration via i.p., rats were sacrificed to determine serum aspartate transaminase(AST) and alanine transaminase(ALT) levels, hepatic glutathione(GSH) and thiobarbituric acid-reactive substances accumulation and glutathioneS-transferase(GST) activity. RESULTS: Microarray and real-time RT-PCR analyses revealed that BSEx upregulated the expression of genes related to detoxification and glutathione synthesis in normal rat liver. The levels of AST(70.91 ± 15.74 IU/m L vs 5614.41 ± 1997.83 IU/m L, P < 0.05) and ALT(11.78 ± 2.08 IU/m L vs 1297.71 ± 447.33 IU/m L, P < 0.05) were significantly suppressed in the APAP + BSEx group compared with the APAP group. The level of GSH(2.61 ± 0.75 nmol/g tissue vs 1.66 ± 0.59 nmol/g tissue, P < 0.05) and liver GST activity(93.19 ± 16.55 U/g tissue vs 51.90 ± 16.85 U/g tissue, P < 0.05) were significantly increased in the APAP + BSEx group compared with the APAP group. AST(4820.05 ± 3094.93 IU/m L vs 12465.63 ± 3223.97 IU/m L, P < 0.05) and ALT(1808.95 ± 1014.04 IU/m L vs 3936.46 ± 777.52 IU/m L, P < 0.05) levels were significantly suppressed in the D-Gal N + BSEx group compared with the D-Gal N group, but the levels of AST and ALT in the D-Gal N + BSEx group were higher than those in the APAP + BSEx group. 11Sulforaphane-rich broccoli sprout extract improves hepatic abnormalities in male subjects显示文摘AIM: To evaluate effects of dietary supplementation of sulforaphane(SF)-rich broccoli sprout(BS) extract on hepatic abnormalities in Japanese male participants.METHODS: In a randomized,placebo-controlled,double blind trial,male participants with fatty liver received either BS capsules containing glucoraphanin [GR; a precursor of SF(n = 24)] or placebo(n = 28) for 2 mo. Liver function markers,serum levels of aspartate and alanine aminotransferases(AST and ALT,respectively) and γ-glutamyl transpeptidase(γ-GTP) and an oxidative stress marker,urinary levels of 8-hydroxydeoxyguanosine(8-OHd G),were measured and compared in participants before and after the trial period. In an animal model,chronic liver failure was induced in Sprague-Dawley rats by successive intraperitoneal injection with N-nitrosodimethylamine(NDMA) for 4 wk. Concomitantly,rats received AIN-76 diets supplemented with or without BS extract. Thereafter,rats were sacrificed,and their sera and livers were collected to measure serum liver function markers and hepatic levels of thiobarbituric acid reactive substances(TBARS) levels and hepatic glutathione S-transferase(GST) activity,a prototypical phase 2 antioxidant enzyme.RESULTS: Dietary supplementation with BS extract containing SF precursor GR for 2 mo significantly decreased serum levels of liver function markers,ALT [median(interquartile range),before: 54.0(34.5-79.0) vs after supplementation: 48.5(33.3-65.3) IU/L,P < 0.05] and γ-GTP [before: 51.5(40.8-91.3) vs after: 50.0(37.8-85.3) IU/L,P < 0.05],as well as the alkali phosphatase activity. Placebo showed no significant effects on the markers. The urinary level of 8-OHd G,an established oxidative stress marker,was significantly reduced in participants who had received BS capsules but not the placebo [before: 6.66(5.51-9.03) vs after: 5.49(4.89-6.66) ng/mg-creatinine,P < 0.05]. The reduction of urinary 8-OHd G was significantly correlated with decreased levels of both ALT and γ-GTP [?8-OHd G and ?ALT: Spearman r(r) 0.514 and P = 0.012,?8-OHd G and ?γ-GTP: r = 0.496 and P = 0.016].
