1Efficient dark channel based image dehazing using quadtrees显示文摘Using dark channel prior-a kind of statistics of the haze-free outdoor images-to remove haze from a single image input is simple and effective. However, due to the use of soft matting algorithm, the method suffers from massive consumption of both memory and time, which largely limits its scalability for large images. In this paper, we present a hierarchical approach to accelerate dark channel based image dehazing. The core of our approach is a novel, efficient scheme for solving the soft matting problem involved in image dehazing, using adaptively subdivided quadtrees built in image space. Acceleration is achieved by transforming the problem of solving a N-variable linear system required in soft matting, to a problem of solving a much smaller m-variable linear system, where N is the number of pixels and m is the number of the corners in the quadtree. 2Boosted cascade of scattered rectangle features for object detection显示文摘This paper presents a variant of Haar-like feature used in Viola and Jones detection framework,called scattered rectangle feature,based on the common-component analysis of local region feature. Three common components,feature filter,feature structure and feature form,are extracted without concern-ing the details of the studied region features,which cast a new light on region feature design for spe-cific applications and requirements: modifying some component(s) of a feature for an improved one or combining different components of existing features for a new favorable one. Scattered rectangle feature follows the former way,extending the feature structure component of Haar-like feature out of the restriction of the geometry adjacency rule,which results in a richer representation that explores much more orientations other than horizontal,vertical and diagonal,as well as misaligned,detached and non-rectangle shape information that is unreachable to Haar-like feature. The training result of the two face detectors in the experiments illustrates the benefits of scattered rectangle feature empirically; the comparison of the ROC curves under a rigid and objective detection criterion on MIT+CMU upright face test set shows that the cascade based on scattered rectangle features outperforms that based on Haar-like features.ZHANG WeiZe TONG RuoFeng DONG JinXiang 2009Science in China(Series F)2009,52,2:2

11Sphere Face Model: A 3D morphable model with hypersphere manifold latent space using joint 2D/3D training显示文摘3D morphable models(3DMMs)are generative models for face shape and appearance.Recent works impose face recognition constraints on 3DMM shape parameters so that the face shapes of the same person remain consistent.However,the shape parameters of traditional 3DMMs satisfy the multivariate Gaussian distribution.In contrast,the identity embeddings meet the hypersphere distribution,and this conflict makes it challenging for face reconstruction models to preserve the faithfulness and the shape consistency simultaneously.In other words,recognition loss and reconstruction loss can not decrease jointly due to their conflict distribution.To address this issue,we propose the Sphere Face Model(SFM),a novel 3DMM for monocular face reconstruction,preserving both shape fidelity and identity consistency.The core of our SFM is the basis matrix which can be used to reconstruct 3D face shapes,and the basic matrix is learned by adopting a twostage training approach where 3D and 2D training data are used in the first and second stages,respectively.We design a novel loss to resolve the distribution mismatch,enforcing that the shape parameters have the hyperspherical distribution.Our model accepts 2D and 3D data for constructing the sphere face models.Extensive experiments show that SFM has high representation ability and clustering performance in its shape parameter space.Moreover,it produces highfidelity face shapes consistently in challenging conditions in monocular face reconstruction.The code will be released at http://gffzz188fe103f8f1460asvvkpfqqwpkkx66xv.ffgz.tsg.suse.edu.cn/a686432/SIR.Diqiong Jiang Yiwei Jin Fang-Lue Zhang Zhe Zhu Yun Zhang Ruofeng Tong Min Tang 2023Computational Visual Media2023,9,2:1

19Patch-based variational image approximation显示文摘Vector graphic gives us a new solution to the representation of raster images. Among many types of vectorized representations, the most popular is mesh representation, which inherits the benefits of vector graphics. Inspired by mesh, we propose a novel patch-based representation for raster images, in which pixels are partitioned into regions, and pixels belonging to the same region are converted into a 3D point cloud and approximated by a 3D planar patch with proper boundaries in a variational way. The resulting patches are then encoded via a half-edge structure for storage. The key point is that the vertices of boundaries are not located on the very positions of sample points, i.e. converted pixels, but dependent on the optimal position of the patch,which theoretically reduces the fitting errors. 20GPU based real-time simulation of massive falling leaves显示文摘As an important autumn feature,scenes with large numbers of falling leaves are common in movies and games. However,it is a challenge for computer graphics to simulate such scenes in an authentic and efficient manner. This paper proposes a GPU based approach for simulating the falling motion of many leaves in real time. Firstly,we use a motionsynthesis based method to analyze the falling motion of the leaves,which enables us to describe complex falling trajectories using low-dimensional features.
