| 1 | Role of sorbent surface functionalities and microporosity in 2,2′,4,4′-tetrabromodiphenyl ether sorption onto biochars显示文摘The study provides insight into the combined effect of sorbent surface functionalities and microporosity on2,2 ′,4,4 ′-tetrabromodiphenyl ether (BDE-47) sorption onto biochars. A series of biochars prepared underdifferent conditionswere used to test their sorption behaviorswith BDE-47. The extents of sorption behaviorswere parameterized in terms of the single-point adsorption equilibrium constant (Koc ) at three equilibrium concentration (C e ) levels (0.001Sw (solubility), 0.005Sw , and 0.05Sw )whichwasdetermined using the Freundlich model. To elucidate the concentration-dependentdominant mechanisms for BDE-47 sorption onto biochars, K ocwas correlatedwith four major parameters using multiple parameter linear analysis accompaniedwith significance testing. The results indicated that at low concentration (Ce = 0.001Sw ), the surface microporosity term,which represented a pore-filling mechanism, contributed significantly to this relationship,while as concentrationwas increased to higher levels, surface functionality related to surface adsorption began to take thedominant role,whichwas further confirmed by the results of Polanyi-based modeling. Given the above results, adual mode model based on Dubinin-Radushkevich andde Boer-Zwikker equationswas adopted to quantitatively assess the changes of significance of surface adsorption aswell as that of pore fillingwith sorption processdevelopment. | 3 | One-step Condensation/copolymerization of VTES and DVB for Self-assembly Bionic Superhydrophobic Surface Coating and Study on Oil-water Separation显示文摘Mimicry of nature drives the development of bionic materials.Bionic superhydrophobic materials are a kind of high-efficiency materials to handle oil spills and water pollution.However,the stability of surface coatings of the superhydrophobic materials remains a challenge.Herein,a new category of self-assembly bionic superhydrophobic surface coating was prepared via one-step condensation/copolymerization of vinyltriethoxysilane(VTES)and divinylbenzene(DVB),which realized the close combination of covalent bonds between organic(e.g.DVB)and inorganic matter(e.g.VTES),and avoided the swelling of polydivinylbenzene(PDVB)in the process of collection of oil from water.This organic-inorganic hybrid polymer could self-assembly deposit on the surface of sponge even other substrates.For example,P(VTES-DVB)-Si0_(2)/MS obtained by assembling P(VTES-DVB)-Si0_(2)on the surface of Melamine Sponge(MS)exhibited superhydrophobicity with a Water Contact Angle(WCA)of 157.3,the optimal adsorption capacity of 77 g g 136 g g-1 for diverse oils,and an excellent separation efficiency of 99.3%.Besides,the excellent acid and alkali resistance of P(VTES-DVB)-Si0_(2)/MS suggested the potential value in practical oil-water separation.P(VTES-DVB)-Si0_(2)showed the outstanding hydrophobic performance by using as coating on different substrates.This work provided a new idea about the stable combination of organic and inorganic matter in the surface modification. | Ruilong Zhang Zhiping Zhou Yi Wang Xiaohui Dai Li Chen Jiangdong Dai | 2021 | Journal of Bionic Engineering2021,18,3: | 3 |
| 4 | Anti-corruption, marketisation and firm behaviours: evidence from firm innovation in China显示文摘China has launched an anti-corruption campaign since theEighteenth CPC National Congress, which has exerted widespreadinfluences on Chinese politics and economy. This paper examinesthe effect of the anti-corruption initiative on firm behaviours fromthe perspective of research and development (R&D) investments. Itshows that pursuing political connections and improving innovation are two mutually exclusive alternatives for firm growth inChina. The anti-corruption campaign raises the cost of seeking forpolitical bond and strengthens the incentive for firm innovation.After anti-corruption policies and regulations were issued, R&Dexpenditure in politically connected firms increases significantly;the anti-corruption initiative has positive effects on firm innovation.Further research shows that the effects vary with different types offirms. For state-owned enterprises (SOEs), the anti-corruptioninitiative only increases the R&D investments of firms with seniorexecutives who used to serve in the government;while for nonstate-owned enterprises (non-SOEs), this campaign has all-aroundpositive effects on their R&D investments. In the meantime, a heterogeneity at the provincial level is observed: R&D investments offirms with political connections increase more significantly in provinces with more intense anti-corruption efforts. Finally, marketisation also has a role to play. For regions with a more developedmarket economy, anti-corruption increases the innovation of firmswith political connections;whereas in regions with a less developed market economy, this effect is insignificant. This paper provides evidence for the opinion that anti-corruption is favourable toeconomic growth in China. | 8 | Statistical properties of kinetic-scale magnetic holes in terrestrial space显示文摘Kinetic-scale magnetic holes(KSMHs)are structures characterized by a significant magnetic depression with a length scale on the order of the proton gyroradius.These structures have been investigated in recent studies in near-Earth space,and found to be closely related to energy conversion and particle acceleration,wave-particle interactions,magnetic reconnection,and turbulence at the kineticscale.However,there are still several major issues of the KSMHs that need further study—including(a)the source of these structures(locally generated in near-Earth space,or carried by the solar wind),(b)the environmental conditions leading to their generation,and(c)their spatio-temporal characteristics.In this study,KSMHs in near-Earth space are investigated statistically using data from the Magnetospheric Multiscale mission.Approximately 200,000 events were observed from September 2015 to March 2020.Occurrence rates of such structures in the solar wind,magnetosheath,and magnetotail were obtained.We find that KSMHs occur in the magnetosheath at rates far above their occurrence in the solar wind.This indicates that most of the structures are generated locally in the magnetosheath,rather than advected with the solar wind.Moreover,KSMHs occur in the downstream region of the quasi-parallel shock at rates significantly higher than in the downstream region of the quasi-perpendicular shock,indicating a relationship with the turbulent plasma environment.Close to the magnetopause,we find that the depths of KSMHs decrease as their temporal-scale increases.We also find that the spatial-scales of the KSMHs near the subsolar magnetosheath are smaller than those in the flanks.Furthermore,their global distribution shows a significant dawn-dusk asymmetry(duskside dominating)in the magnetotail. | ShuTao Yao ZongShun Yue QuanQi Shi Alexander William Degeling HuiShan Fu AnMin Tian Hui Zhang Andrew Vu RuiLong Guo ZhongHua Yao Ji Liu Qiu-Gang Zong XuZhi Zhou JingHuan Li WenYa Li HongQiao Hu YangYang Liu WeiJie Sun | 2021 | Earth and Planetary Physics2021,5,1: | 1 |

| 10 | miR-125b reverses cisplatin resistance by regulating autophagy via targeting RORA/BNIP3L axis in lung adenocarcinoma显示文摘The platinum-based chemotherapy is one of the most frequently used treatment protocols for lung adenocarcinoma(LUAD),and chemoresistance,however,usually results in treatment failure and limits its application in the clinic.It has been shown that microRNAs(miRNAs)play a significant role in tumor chemoresistance.In this study,miR-125b was identified as a specific cisplatin(DDP)-resistant gene in LUAD,as indicated by the bioinformatics analysis and the real-time quantitative PCR assay.The decreased serum level of miR-125b in LUAD patients was correlated with the poor treatment response rate and short survival time.MiR-125b decreased the A549/DDP proliferation,and the multiple drug resistance-and autophagy-related protein expression levels,which were all reversed by the inhibition of miR-125b.In addition,xenografts of human tumors in nude mice were suppressed by miR-125b,demonstrating that through autophagy regulation,miR-125b could reverse the DDP resistance in LUAD cells,both in vitro and in vivo.Further mechanistic studies indicated that miR-125b directly repressed the expression levels of RORA and its downstream BNIP3L,which in turn inhibited autophagy and reversed chemoresistance.Based on these findings,miR-125b in combination with DDP might be an effective treatment option to overcome DDP resistance in LUAD. | LEI LIU NA GUO XIANGLING LI QIAN XU RUILONG HE LIMIN CHENG CHUNYAN DANG XINYU BAI YIYING BAI XIN WANG QIANHUI CHEN LI ZHANG | 2024 | Oncology Research2024,32,4: | 0 |

| 12 | Enhancing electrochemical conversion of lithium polysulfide by 1T-rich MoSe_(2) nanosheets for high performance lithium-sulfur batteries显示文摘The sluggish conversion kinetics and shuttle effect of lithium polysulfides(LiPSs)severely hamper the commercialization of lithium-sulfur batteries.Numerous electrocatalysts have been used to address these issues,amongst which,transition metal dichalcogenides have shown excellent catalytic performance in the study of lithium-sulfur batteries.Note that dichalcogenides in different phases have different catalytic properties,and such catalytic materials in different phases have a prominent impact on the performance of lithium-sulfur batteries.Herein,1T-phase rich MoSe_(2)(T-MoSe_(2))nanosheets are synthesized and used to catalyze the conversion of LiPSs.Compared with the 2H-phase rich MoSe_(2)(H-MoSe_(2))nanosheets,the T-MoSe_(2) nanosheets significantly accelerate the liquid phase transformation of LiPSs and the nucleation process of Li2S.In-situ Raman and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)find that T-MoSe_(2) effectively captures LiPSs through the formation of Mo-S and Li-Se bonds,and simultaneously achieves fast catalytic conversion of LiPSs.The lithium-sulfur batteries with T-MoSe_(2) functionalized separators display a fantastic rate performance of 770.1 mAh/g at 3 C and wonderful cycling stability,with a capacity decay rate as low as 0.065%during 400 cycles at 1 C.This work offers a novel perspective for the rational design of selenide electrocatalysts in lithium-sulfur chemistry. | Ruilong Li Zhe Bai Wensuo Hou Zeyu Wu Pingli Feng Yu Bai Kening Sun Zhenhua Wang | 2023 | Chinese Chemical Letters2023,34,11: | 0 |

We built up a dataset of 7 100 portrait images which are frames from personal live show videos. The proposed network includes a coarse network which can learn global information and a fine network which utilizes local information to refine the coarse output. Additionally, an auxiliary contour loss is introduced to help training the coarse network. The proposed framework shows higher accuracy than the widely-used fully convolutional network.
