| 4 | 5-Hydroxymethylome in Circulating Cell-free DNA as A Potential Biomarker for Non-small-cell Lung Cancer显示文摘Non-small-cell lung cancer(NSCLC), the most common type of lung cancer accounting for 85% of the cases, is often diagnosed at advanced stages owing to the lack of efficient early diagnostic tools. 5-Hydroxymethylcytosine(5 hmC) signatures in circulating cell-free DNA(cfDNA) that carries the cancer-specific epigenetic patterns may represent the valuable biomarkers for discriminating tumor and healthy individuals, and thus could be potentially useful for NSCLC diagnosis. Here,we employed a sensitive and reliable method to map genome-wide 5 hmC in the cfDNA of Chinese NSCLC patients and detected a significant 5 hmC gain in both the gene bodies and promoter regions in the blood samples from tumor patients compared with healthy controls. Specifically, we identified six potential biomarkers from 66 patients and 67 healthy controls(mean decrease accuracy>3.2, P < 3.68E-19) using machine-learning-based tumor classifiers with high accuracy. | 6 | Distribution and sources of heavy metals in the sediment of Xiangshan Bay显示文摘Heavy metals in the surface sediments and sediment core from the Xiangshan Bay, a mariculture base on the coast of the East China Sea, were determined by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry(ICP–MS) in order to evaluate their levels and sources. The results showed that the levels of Cu, Pb, Zn, and Cr in the sediments of the bay have been generally influenced by anthropogenic inputs since the founding of the People's Republic of China. In particular, Cu and Zn were polluted to some extent, as evidenced by high enrichment factors. Organic matter, grain size, wastewater discharge, and low energy hydrodynamic environment played dominant roles in the heavy metal enrichment in the sediments. The ratio of terrigenous source to marine biogenic deposit of trace metals in the sediments was calculated, revealing that terrigenous inputs were the main source of Cu, Pb, and Zn, while biological pellets contributed much more to the enrichment of Cr and Cd. Despite advances in the therapy and care of heart failure, morbidity and mortality remain persistently high. Recent years have witnessed major breakthroughs in the investigations of pathogenesis, prevention, and treatment of heart failure in China. It is noteworthy that the continuing and growing support from funding agencies in China including the National Natural Science Foundation of China has yielded substantial effects on the basic and clinical research in heart failure in the last decade. In this review, we provide an update on the current status of heart failure research, both basic and translational/clinical, in China, including funding and publications. | 12 | Overexpression of PvWOX3a in switchgrass promotes stem development and increases plant height显示文摘Switchgrass(Panicum virgatum L.)is an important perennial,noninvasive,tall ornamental grass that adds color and texture to gardens and landscapes.Moreover,switchgrass has been considered a forage and bioenergy crop because of its vigorous growth,low-input requirements,and broad geography.Here,we identified PvWOX3a from switchgrass,which encodes a WUSCHEL-related homeobox transcription factor.Transgenic overexpression of PvWOX3a in switchgrass increased stem length,internode diameter,and leaf blade length and width,all of which contributed to a 95%average increase in dry weight biomass compared with control plants.Yeast one-hybrid and transient dual-luciferase assays showed that PvWOX3a can repress the expression of gibberellin 2-oxidase and cytokinin oxidase/dehydrogenase through apparently direct interaction with their promoter sequences.These results suggested that overexpression of PvWOX3a could increase gibberellin and cytokinin levels in transgenic switchgrass plants,which promotes cell division,elongation,and vascular bundle development.We also overexpressed PvWOX3a in a transgenic miR156-overexpressing switchgrass line that characteristically exhibited more tillers,thinner internodes,and narrower leaf blades.Double transgenic switchgrass plants displayed significant increases in internode length and diameter,leaf blade width,and plant height but retained a tiller number comparable to that of plants expressing miR156 alone.Ultimately,the double transgenic switchgrass plants produced 174%more dry-weight biomass and 162%more solubilized sugars on average than control plants.These findings indicated that PvWOX3a is a viable potential genetic target for engineering improved shoot architecture and biomass yield of horticulture,fodder,and biofuel crops. | Ruijuan Yang Zhenying Wu Chen Bai Zhichao Sun Mengqi Wang Yuzhu Huo Hailing Zhang Yamei Wang Huapeng Zhou Shaojun Dai Wenwen Liu Chunxiang Fu | 2021 | Horticulture Research2021,8,1: | 1 |

| 15 | Chip-integrated van der Waals PN heterojunction photodetector with low dark current and high responsivity显示文摘Two-dimensional materials are attractive for constructing high-performance photonic chip-integrated photodetectors because of their remarkable electronic and optical properties and dangling-bond-free surfaces.However,the reported chip-integrated two-dimensional material photodetectors were mainly implemented with the configuration of metalsemiconductor-metal,suffering from high dark currents and low responsivities at high operation speed.Here,we report a van der Waals PN heterojunction photodetector,composed of p-type black phosphorous and n-type molybdenum telluride,integrated on a silicon nitride waveguide.The built-in electric field of the PN heterojunction significantly suppresses the dark current and improves the responsivity.Under a bias of 1 V pointing from n-type molybdenum telluride to p-type black phosphorous,the dark current is lower than 7 nA,which is more than two orders of magnitude lower than those reported in other waveguide-integrated black phosphorus photodetectors.An intrinsic responsivity up to 577 mA W^(−1) is obtained.Remarkably,the van der Waals PN heterojunction is tunable by the electrostatic doping to further engineer its rectification and improve the photodetection,enabling an increased responsivity of 709 mA W^(−1).Besides,the heterojunction photodetector exhibits a response bandwidth of~1.0 GHz and a uniform photodetection over a wide spectral range,as experimentally measured from 1500 to 1630 nm.The demonstrated chip-integrated van der Waals PN heterojunction photodetector with low dark current,high responsivity and fast response has great potentials to develop high-performance on-chip photodetectors for various photonic integrated circuits based on silicon,lithium niobate,polymer,etc. | Ruijuan Tian Xuetao Gan Chen Li Xiaoqing Chen Siqi Hu Linpeng Gu Dries Van Thourhout Andres Castellanos-Gomez Zhipei Sun Jianlin Zhao | 2022 | Light(Science & Applications)2022,11,5: | 0 |
| 16 | Accelerated strategy for fast ion conductor materials screening and optimal doping scheme exploration显示文摘Fast ion conductor materials screening based on high-throughput calculations involves enormous computing tasks.The process usually includes structural optimization,energy calculation,charge analysis and ionic migration performance estimation.The first one involves looking for the equilibrium atomic positions in huge amount of candidate compounds or derivative structures,and the computational cost is always high because of the task-intensive features.The last one relates to the kinetic problems,for which the time-consuming transition state theory and the molecular dynamics are the main simulation methods.In this work,two predictive models,ionic migration activation energy model and structural optimization model,are developed based on machine learning(ML)techniques to accelerate the process of estimating activation energy and relaxing the doped crystal structures,respectively.By training 3136 energy barrier data calculated by bond valence(BV)method,an ionic migration activation energy model(Ea model)with mean absolute error(MAE)of 0.26 eV on testing data set is obtained.We apply this model and filter LiBiOS as a promising fast Li^(+)conductor from 49 Licontaining hetero-anionic compounds.Although the model-predicted result shows relatively low energy barrier,further analysis indicates that the high carrier formation energy restricts the ionic transportability.Therefore,we substitute fractional Li^(+)with Mg^(2+)in LiBiOS to relieve the large difficulty of forming carriers in the structure.In order to fast explore the optimal doping scheme,we develop the structural optimization model(E-f model)containing the ML-based energy and force prediction to accelerate the structural optimization under various LieMg ratio and doping configurations.Decent doping scheme Li_(1-2x)Mg_(x)BiOS(x=0.1875)shows much better Li^(+)migration performance compared with LiBiOS without substitution.This method of screening fast ion conductor materials and finding optimal doping scheme will extremely accelerate materials explorations. | Yuqi Wang Siyuan Wu Wei Shao Xiaorui Sun Qiang Wang Ruijuan Xiao Hong Li | 2022 | Journal of Materiomics2022,8,5: | 0 |
| 17 | Identification and expression analysis of chlorogenic acid biosynthesis key gene PpHCT in peach显示文摘Shikimic acid/quinic acid hydroxy cinnamyl transferase(HCT)is one of the key enzymes in the phenylpropanoid pathway.However,the role of the HCT gene in chlorogenic acid(CGA)biosynthesis in peach fruit remains unclear.For this,we identified the accumulation pattern of CGA in four peach cultivars,cloned and characterized 11 PpHCT gene members,and further analyzed the expression patterns of these PpHCT genes during fruit development.The contents of CGAs in the four peach cultivars all exhibited a trend of increasing and then decreasing during the fruit growth and development.Moreover,the contents of CGAs in the peel and flesh were tissue-specific.Gene structure analysis indicated that the PpHCT genes were highly conserved,containing two exons and one intron.The protein structure analysis demonstrated that the PpHCT proteins contained two conserved motifs(HXXXD,DFGWG)and a transferase domain(PF02458),which belonged to the BAHD acyltransferase family.The cis-acting element analysis suggested that the promoters of PpHCT genes contained many light-related,hormone-related,stress-related,tissue-specific,and circadian-related elements,and they could participate in a variety of biological processes.Phylogenetic analysis showed that the HCT proteins of peach were closely related to the HCT proteins of plum and had a close evolutionary relationship.The qRT-PCR analysis indicated that the expression levels of PpHCT1 and PpHCT2 showed an opposite trend to the accumulation of CGA,whereas the expression levels of PpHCT4,PpHCT5,PpHCT7,PpHCT8,and PpHCT11 demonstrated the same trend as CGA accumulation.It was worth noting that only PpHCT4 and PpHCT5 were highly expressed in the two high-CGA cultivars but showed low levels of expression in the two low-CGA cultivars.Therefore,it was hypothesized that these two genes might be key genes to the synthesis of CGA in peach fruit.Those findings provide a theoretical basis for further study on the biological functions of the HCT gene and help to reveal the molecular mechanism of CGA. | Ziwen Su Meng Sun Zhixiang Cai Shaolei Guo Jiyao Li Bintao Zhao Zhijun Shen Ruijuan Ma Juan Yan Mingliang Yu | 2023 | Horticultural Plant Journal2023,9,4: | 0 |

| 19 | Effect of Accessory Pathway Conduction on PJ Interval in Wolff-Parkinson-White Syndrome显示文摘Objective To observe the effect of accessory pathway (AP) conduction on PJ interval in patients with Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome. Methods 129 patients with a single manifestation of AP who underwent successful radiofrequency ablation (RFCA) were included. Patients were divided into 10 groups according to AP location. The PR intervals, QRS durations and the PJ intervals were measured using simultaneous 12-lead ECG before and after ablation. The PJ intervals before ablation were compared with that after ablation. The atrioventricular (AV) conduction time via atrioventricular node-His conduction system before ablation were compared with the PR intervals after ablation. The ventricular depolarization time via atrioventricular node-His conduction system before ablation were compared with the QRS durations after ablation. Delta waves were compared between each two groups. Results (1) The PJ intervals of right posterior (RP) group and right posteroseptal (RPS) group before ablation were shorter than that after ablation (RP group 226±18 ms vs 236±19 ms, P<0.01, RPS group 221±18 ms vs 238±31 ms, P<0.05, respectively). (2) There were no significant differences between the atrioventricular (AV) conduction time via atrioventricular node-His conduction system before ablation and the PR intervals after ablation. (3)The ventricular depolarization time via atrioventricular node-His conduction system of RP group and RPS group before ablation were shorter than the PR intervals after ablation(RP group 79±12 ms vs 87±9 ms, P=0.01; RPS group 70±13 ms vs 86±9 ms, P<0.05, respectively). (4)The delta waves of RP group and RPS group were longer than that of left posterior group and left posteroseptal group(P<0.05). Conclusion PJ interval is shortened by AP conduction which pre-excites the general last excited part of left ventricle. | 20 | The relations between the metallicity and orbital parameters of Galactic disk stars显示文摘The iron abundance gradient in the Galactic disk provides fundamental constraints on the chemical evolution of this important component of the Galaxy.However,there are still some arguments about the shape of the iron abundance gradient across the Galactic stellar disk.To provide quantitative constraints on these trends,we constructed an unbiased stellar sample from the common objects of two large observations.The sample consists of 4004 disk stars in the solar neighborhood with the range of metallicity [Fe/H] from ^-1.0 to ~0.5,including 3855 thin disk stars and 146 thick disk stars.The range of their mean Galactocentric distances R m is from ~4 to ~11 kpc,and the range of their maximum vertical distance from the Galactic Plane Z max is from 0 to ~3.5 kpc.The relations of the stellar metallicity [Fe/H] with the orbital eccentricity e,and [Fe/H] with R m,as well as [Fe/H] with Z max are investigated in detail.The results showed that:(1) The orbital eccentricity of disk stars decreases with increasing metallicity,while this trend becomes flat for stars with [Fe/H]>-0.2.(2) For thin disk,there is a clear radial iron gradient of-0.051±0.005 dex/kpc.However,this metallicity gradient is discontinuous once we split the sample into the inner(Rm<8kpc) and outer disk(Rm≥8 kpc):a slope of about 0 dex/kpc is present in the inner disk and a slope of-0.12 dex/kpc is in the outer disk.For the thick disk,there is no trend of [Fe/H] with R m.(3) The vertical gradient of iron abundance is-0.146 dex/kpc and-0.251 dex/kpc for the thick and thin disks,respectively.Moreover,the vertical abundance gradient shows a steeper trend with the evolution of the Galaxy.Our results confirm the collapse mechanism associated with the formation and evolution of the Galactic disk. | LI Ji *,SUN JianAn & FU RuiJuan College of Physics Science & Information Engineering,Hebei Normal University,Shijiazhuang 050016,China | 2010 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2010,53,7: | 0 |
