| 2 | Estimation of reproduction numbers of COVID-19 in typical countries and epidemic trends under different prevention and control scenarios显示文摘The coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)has become a life-threatening pandemic.The epidemic trends in different countries vary considerably due to different policy-making and resources mobilization.We calculated basic reproduction number(R0)and the time-varying estimate of the effective reproductive number(Rt)of COVID-19 by using the maximum likelihood method and the sequential Bayesian method,respectively.European and North American countries possessed higher (R0)and unsteady Rt fluctuations,whereas some heavily affected Asian countries showed relatively low (R0)and declining Rt now.The numbers of patients in Africa and Latin America are still low,but the potential risk of huge outbreaks cannot be ignored.Three scenarios were then simulated,generating distinct outcomes by using SEIR(susceptible,exposed,infectious,and removed)model.First,evidence-based prompt responses yield lower transmission rate followed by decreasing Rt.Second,implementation of effective control policies at a relatively late stage,in spite of huge casualties at early phase,can still achieve containment and mitigation.Third,wisely taking advantage of the time-window for developing countries in Africa and Latin America to adopt adequate measures can save more people’s life.Our mathematical modeling provides evidence for international communities to develop sound design of containment and mitigation policies for COVID-19. | Chen Xu Yinqiao Dong Xiaoyue Yu Huwen Wang Lhakpa Tsamlag Shuxian Zhang Ruijie Chang Zezhou Wang Yuelin Yu Rusi Long Ying Wang Gang Xu Tian Shen Suping Wang Xinxin Zhang Hui Wang Yong Cai | 2020 | Frontiers of Medicine2020,14,5: | 8 |

| 7 | Neuromodulation of Chemical Synaptic Transmission Driven by THz Photons显示文摘Postsynaptic currents of chemical synapse are modulated by multitudinous neurotransmitters,such as acetylcholine,dopamine,glutamate,andγ-aminobutyric acid,many of which have been used in the treatment of neurological diseases.Here,based on molecular dynamics simulations and quantum chemical calculation,we propose that 30-to 45-THz photons can resonate with a variety of typical neurotransmitter molecules and make them absorb photon energy to activate the transition to high energy state,which is expected to be a new method of neural regulation.Furthermore,we verified the calculated results through experiments that THz irradiation could substantively change neuronal signal emission and enhance the frequency,amplitude,and dynamic properties of excitatory postsynaptic current and inhibitory postsynaptic current.In addition,we demonstrated the potential of neural information regulation by THz photons through 2-photon imaging in vivo.These findings are expected to improve the understanding of the physical mechanism of biological phenomena and facilitate the application of terahertz technology in neural regulation and the development of new functional materials. | Xiaoxuan Tan Yuan Zhong Ruijie Li Chao Chang | 2023 | Research2023,,3: | 0 |
| 8 | The bioactive of four dietary sources phospholipids on heavy metal-induced skeletal muscle injury in zebrafish:A comparison of phospholipid profiles显示文摘Phospholipids have been recognized as significant functional lipids related to nutrition,while they were complex and multiple,and their sources were various.Bioactive functions of phospholipids in skeletal muscle were given serious attention;however,studies on dietary phospholipid profiles with functions on skeletal muscle were rarely reported.Here,we analyzed phospholipid profiles of four kinds of dietary phospholipids(including yolk phospholipid,soybean phospholipid,perilla seed phospholipid and krill oil phospholipid)and compared their composition differences using UPLC-Q-TOF-MS.Lipidomics emphasized significant differences in compositions.Krill oil phospholipid rich inω-3 long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids(ω-3 LCPUFAs)showed the most excellent effect in skeletal muscle protection.Compared with triglyceride-type lipid(fish oil),phospholipids had higher bioavailability.Besides,as for a higher degree of unsaturation of phospholipid,they did not always perform better effects,which might be related to being more susceptible to suffering from oxidative stress.Overall,four representative phospholipids were analyzed and compared for their bioactive function in skeletal muscle,providing a reference for better understanding relationships between structures and functional applications of phospholipids. | Zhangtie Wang Emad Karrar Yandan Wang Ruijie Liu Ming Chang Xingguo Wang | 2022 | Food Bioscience2022,47,3: | 0 |
