| 3 | Advances in eucalypt research in China显示文摘Eucalypt plantations in China currently exceed4.5 Mhm^2, and this country has the third largest area of such plantations after India and Brazil. China's eucalypt industry now comprises a complex, multifaceted industry including seedling propagation, fertilizer production and supply, plantation silviculture, harvesting and transport,wood processing for products including lumber, pulp and paper, and wood-based panels, as well as bioenergy production and various forest byproducts and non-wood forest products. In 2015, the combined value of output of this whole industry was around 300 billion CNY. Chinese research and development(R&D) has been instrumental in supporting growth and development across the whole breadth of the country's eucalypt industry. In this report,recent advances in this R&D are reviewed under six key topics:(1) advanced propagation technology;(2) genetic resources and breeding;(3) targeted silviculture;(4) eucalypt disease and pest management;(5) enhancing plantation ecology and sustainability; and(6) wood processing and byproduct technology. R&D has greatly facilitated expansion and proliferation of all parts of China's eucalypt industry. | 4 | ADVANCES IN UNDERSTANDING AND FORECASTING RAPIDLY CHANGING PHENOMENA IN TROPICAL CYCLONES显示文摘This review of new understanding and forecasting of tropical cyclones(TCs) is based on presentations at the International Top-level Forum on Rapid Change Phenomena in Tropical Cyclones in Haikou, China. The major topics are the sudden changes in tracks, rapid changes in structure and intensity, rapid changes in rainfall, and advances in forecasting and forecaster requirements. Although improved track forecast guidance has been achieved with the Australian ACCESS-TC model and in track forecasts to 120 h by the China Meteorological Administration, there is a continuing need for better understanding and improved track forecast guidance. Advances in understanding of processes related to rapid intensification(RI), secondary eyewall formation, mechanisms controlling inner-core structure and size changes, and structure and intensity changes at landfall have been achieved, but progress in prediction of rapid changes in structure and intensity has been slow. Taking into account complex interactions involved in TC-related rainfall, a prioritized list of physical processes that govern rainfall from landfalling TCs in China has been developed. | 6 | Dynamic High Pressure Micro-fluidization Effects on Structure and Physico-chemical Properties of Egg White Protein显示文摘The authors dealt with the effects of dynamic high pressure micro-fluidization(untreated and 20―160 MPa treated) on the structure and physico-chemical properties of egg white solutions[6%(mass fraction) or 61.2 mg protein/mL]. Micro-fluidization treatment resulted in a decrease in mean particle size,and little change in solubility. It was found that the residual denaturation enthalpy was decreased with the increase of pressure from 20 to 100 MPa and from 120 to 160 MPa,reaching into the maximum at 160 MPa. There was an increase of surface hydrophobicity with the maximum at 100 MPa observed. | 10 | Relationship between depression and diabetes in pregnancy: A systematic review显示文摘AIM To systematically review the literature on women with both diabetes in pregnancy(DIP) and depression during or after pregnancy. METHODS In this systematic literature review, PubM ed/MEDLINE and EMBASE were searched(13 November 2015) using terms for diabetes(type 1, type 2, or gestational), depression, and pregnancy(no language or date restrictions). Publications that reported on women who had both DIP(any type) and depression or depressive symptoms before, during, or within one year after pregnancy were considered for inclusion. All study types were eligible for inclusion; conference abstracts, narrative reviews, nonclinical letters, editorials, and commentaries were excluded, unless they provided treatment guidance.RESULTS Of 1189 articles identified, 48 articles describing women with both DIP and depression were included(sample sizes 36 to > 32 million). Overall study quality was poor; most studies were observational, and only 12 studies(mostly retrospective database studies) required clinical depression diagnosis. The prevalence of concurrent DIP(any type) and depression in general populations of pregnant women ranged from 0% to 1.6%(median 0.61%; 12 studies). The prevalence of depression among women with gestational diabetes ranged from 4.1% to 80%(median 14.7%; 16 studies). Many studies examined whether DIP was a risk factor for depression or depression was a risk factor for DIP. However, there was no clear consensus for either relationship. Importantly, we found limited guidance on the management of women with both DIP and depression.
