1Direct laser writing of volumetric gradient index lenses and waveguides显示文摘Direct laser writing(DLW)has been shown to render 3D polymeric optical components,including lenses,beam expanders,and mirrors,with submicrometer precision.However,these printed structures are limited to the refractive index and dispersive properties of the photopolymer.Here,we present the subsurface controllable refractive index via beam exposure(SCRIBE)method,a lithographic approach that enables the tuning of the refractive index over a range of greater than 0.3 by performing DLW inside photoresist-filled nanoporous silicon and silica scaffolds.Adjusting the laser exposure during printing enables 3D submicron control of the polymer infilling and thus the refractive index and chromatic dispersion.Combining SCRIBE’s unprecedented index range and 3D writing accuracy has realized the world’s smallest(15μm diameter)spherical Luneburg lens operating at visible wavelengths.SCRIBE’s ability to tune the chromatic dispersion alongside the refractive index was leveraged to render achromatic doublets in a single printing step,eliminating the need for multiple photoresins and writing sequences.SCRIBE also has the potential to form multicomponent optics by cascading optical elements within a scaffold.As a demonstration,stacked focusing structures that generate photonic nanojets were fabricated inside porous silicon.Finally,an all-pass ring resonator was coupled to a subsurface 3D waveguide.The measured quality factor of 4600 at 1550 nm suggests the possibility of compact photonic systems with optical interconnects that traverse multiple planes.SCRIBE is uniquely suited for constructing such photonic integrated circuits due to its ability to integrate multiple optical components,including lenses and waveguides,without additional printed supports.Christian R.Ocier Corey A.Richards Daniel A.Bacon-Brown Qing Ding Raman Kumar Tanner J.Garcia Jorik van de Groep Jung-Hwan Song Austin J.Cyphersmith Andrew Rhode Andrea N.Perry Alexander J.Littlefield Jinlong Zhu Dajie Xie Haibo Gao Jonah F.Messinger Mark L.Brongersma Kimani C.Toussaint Jr Lynford L.Goddard Paul V.Braun 2020Light(Science & Applications)2020,9,1:6

5Recent advances in assessment of soil erosion vulnerability in a watershed显示文摘Soil erosion is one of the most critical hazards adversely affecting both environment and economy.Assessment of the annual soil erosion rate provides information on soil erosion risk zones indicating the areas with high,severe and low risks.Modelling and prediction of soil erosion has a long history of more than seven decades.It becomes imperative to be familiar with the quantum of studies conducted and methods employed across the world to assess vulnerability of ecosystems to soil erosion to plan strategies for their conservation.There are several methods based on various factors like land use,soil quality,topography etc.available to assess the susceptibility of a region to soil loss.With time the gap in understanding of such models and their use around the world has increased.Numerous models for assessing soil erosion exist but there is a lack of knowledge on spatial distribution of the methods being used.Academic papers related to assessment of soil erosion vulnerability published during the past three decades(1991—2019)were reviewed.Total 160 studies were reviewed to understand advances in the methods used to assess soil erosion vulnerability worldwide,identification of the most popular methods and proportion of studies conducted in the fragile region of Himalayas.The results show that 18 different methods have mainly been used to assess soil erosion risk in different regions.These methods include statistical,physical,process based and empirical models.The use of few physical methods like ANSWERS and SHE has decreased with time while that of physical and process methods like RUSLE,SWAT,WEPP and PESERA has increased with time.The review highlighted that various models being used worldwide are based on their suitability to the region.It also brings to attention that few models like PESERA,EUROSEM and WEPP are mostly being used concentrated in a particular region.Models like PESERA and EPM are mostly used in European region and may be encouraged to estimate soil erosion in Himalayan region.The review also highlights lack of studies with inclusion of water quality as an important parameter while assessing soil erosion vulnerability in the region.The review suggests that in case of lack of data,various statistical methods like PCA,CF,FUZZY etc can be preferred for qualitative assessment over quantitative assessment Considering availability of accurate input,researchers need to attempt more methods and perform comparative studies to attain accurate results for assessing soil erosion vulnerability leading to strategizing soil conservation in fragile regions.Shachi Pandey Parmanand Kumar Miodrag Zlatic Raman Nautiyal Vijender Pal Panwar 2021International Soil and Water Conservation Research2021,9,3:2

7Oxide ancillary ligand-based europium β-diketonate complexes and their enhanced luminosity显示文摘Ternary materials of europium complex with2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-3,5-heptanedione(tmhd) ligand and aqua ligand as ancillary ligands have been prepared and characterized for various optoelectronic characteristics.Reactions of hydrated complex [Eu(tmhd)_(3)(H_(2)O)_(2)] proceeded with triphenylphosphine oxide(TPPO) and pyridine-N-oxide(PNO) ancillary ligands were studied to develop novel complexes. The prepared complexes show good thermal stability. A comparative investigation of preparedmaterials[Eu(tmhd)_(3)(H_(2)O)_(2)],[Eu(tmhd)_(3)(TPPO)_(2)] and [Eu(tmhd)_(3)(PNO)_(2)] was conducted for their luminescent behaviors in order to obtain the role of ancillary ligand in the enhancement of illumination amount generated from europium(Eu^(3+)) ion. Color coordinates of prepared ternary complexes such as[Eu(tmhd)_(3)(H_(2)O)_(2)]with(x = 0.54,y = 0.32),[Eu(tmhd)_(3)(TPPO)_(2)] with(x = 0.56, y = 0.32) and[Eu(tmhd)_(3)(PNO)_(2)] with(x = 0.57, y = 0.33) indicated that these materials exhibited bright red emission in visible region spectrum. The complexes show a proficient energy transport pathway from the ligands to the innermost Eu^(3+)by means of an ancillary ligand-sensitized luminescence process.
