| 4 | Precise multi‐dimensional temperature‐rise characterisation of switchgear based on multi‐conditional experiments and LPTN model for high‐capacity application显示文摘As the power load increases, the capacity of switchgear becomes larger so the problem of overheating of switchgears becomes more significant. Whether the switchgears operate safely and reliably affects the reliability and economy of the entire power system. Different methods have been tried to study the thermal problems of switch-gears. However, there are few experimental studies on the switchgear entity. In this study, a series of temperature rise tests were carried out on medium‐voltage high‐ca-pacity switchgear to explore laws of temperature rise. First, five groups of multi‐con-ditional experiments were carried out including changes of the load current, ventilation conditions and loop resistance. Then, multi‐dimensional temperature‐rise characterisa-tion was analysed based on the experimental results and the relating theory. Finally, a circuit‐based lumped‐parameter thermal network (LPTN) model was developed by analysing the heat dissipation in switchgear and used to determine the steady‐state temperature distribution of the switchgear. The model is verified by comparing the simulation results with the experimental results. | Xiaorui Wang Haotian Xia Zhanqing Yu Yonggang Guan Biao Zhao Yulong Huang Lu Qu Jiudong Ding | 2021 | High Voltage2021,6,1: | 0 |
| 5 | Experimental and Numerical Analysis of Particle Migration and Patterning Behavior in a Gravel Pack显示文摘Due to its long lifespan and high sand-removal efficiency, gravel packing is one of the most applied sand control methods during the recovery of reservoirs with sanding problems. The blockage and retention of injected sand in a gravel pack is a complex process affected by multiple mechanisms. The majority of existing studies based on the phenomenological deep bed filtration(DBF)theory focused on the gravel pack’s overall permeability damage and failed to obtain the inner-pore particle distribution pattern. In this work, experiments and simulations were carried out to reveal the particle distribution in a gravel pack during flooding. In particular, through real-time monitoring of particle migration, the penetration depth and distribution pattern of invaded particles with different gravel-sand particle ratios, fluid viscosities and injection rates could be determined.By simplifying each unit bed element(UBE)into a pore-throat structure with four tunnels(two horizontals for discharge and two verticals for sedimentation),a new network simulation method, which combines deep bed filtration with a particle trajectory model, was implemented.Cross comparison of experimental and numerical results demonstrates the validity and accuracy of the model. | Bobo Luo Yunbin Xiong Zhuoyi Li Zhanqing Qu Fenggang Liu Tiankui Guo Zugui Yang Yina Shi | 2023 | Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing2023,19,4: | 0 |
| 6 | Evolution mechanism of optical fiber strain induced by multi-fracture growth during fracturing in horizontal wells显示文摘A forward model for optical fiber strain was established based on a planar 3D multi-fracture model. Then the forward method calculating distributed fiber strain induced by multi-fracture growth was proposed. Based on this method, fiber strain evolution during fracturing of the horizontal well was numerically simulated. Fiber strain evolution induced by fracture growth can be divided into three stages: strain increasing, shrinkage convergence, and straight-line convergence, whereas the evolution of fiber strain rate has four stages: strain rate increasing, shrinkage convergence, straight-line convergence, and strain rate reversal after pumping stops. Fiber strain does not flip after pumping stop, while the strain rate flips after pumping stop so that strain rate can reflect injection dynamics. The time when the fracture extends to the fiber and inter-well pressure channeling can be identified by the straight-line convergence band of distributed fiber strain or strain rate, and the non-uniform growth of multiple fractures can be evaluated by using the instants of fractures reaching the fiber monitoring well. When the horizontal section of the fiber monitoring well is within the height range of a hydraulic fracture, the instant of the fracture reaching the fiber can be identified;otherwise, the converging band is not apparent. In multi-stage fracturing, under the influence of stress shadow from previous fracturing stages, the tensile region of fiber strain may not appear, but the fiber strain rate can effectively show the fracture growth behavior in each stage. The evolution law of fiber strain rate in single-stage fracturing can be applied to multi-stage fracturing. | CHEN Ming GUO Tiankui XU Yun QU Zhanqing ZHANG Shicheng ZHOU Tong WANG Yunpeng | 2022 | Petroleum Exploration and Development2022,49,1: | 0 |
| 7 | Proppant transport law in multi-branched fractures induced by volume fracturing显示文摘To further clarify the proppant transport and placement law in multi-branched fractures induced by volume fracturing, proppant transport simulation experiments were performed with different fracture shapes, sand ratios, branched fracture opening time and injection sequence of proppants in varied particle sizes. The results show that the settled proppant height increases and the placement length decreases in main fractures as the fracturing fluid diverts gradually to the branched fractures at different positions. The flow rate in branched fractures is the main factor affecting their filling. The diverion to branched fractures leads to low flow rate and poor filling of far-wellbore branched fractures. The inclined fracture wall exerts a frictional force on the proppant to slow its settlement, thus enhancing the vertical proppant distribution in the fracture. The increase of sand ratio can improve the filling of near-wellbore main fracture and far-wellbore branched fracture and also increase the settled proppant height in main fracture. Due to the limitation of fracture height, when the sand ratio increases to a certain level, the increment of fracture filling decreases. When branched fracture is always open(or extends continuously), the supporting effect on the branched fractures is the best, but the proppant placement length within the main fractures is shorter. The fractures support effect is better when it is first closed and then opened(or extends in late stage) than when it is first opened and then closed(or extends in early stage). Injecting proppants with different particle sizes in a specific sequence can improve the placement lengths of main fracture and branched fracture. Injection of proppants in an ascending order of particle size improves the near-wellbore fracture filling, to a better extent than that in a descending order of particle size. | GUO Tiankui LYU Mingkun CHEN Ming XU Yun WENG Dingwei QU Zhanqing DAI Caili HOU Jian LIU Xiaoqiang | 2023 | Petroleum Exploration and Development2023,50,4: | 0 |
