1Theory of (n) truth degrees of formulas in modal logic and a consistency theorem显示文摘The theory of (n) truth degrees of formulas is proposed in modal logic for the first time. A consistency theorem is obtained which says that the (n) truth degree of a modality-free formula equals the truth degree of the formula in two-valued propositional logic. Variations of (n) truth degrees of formulas w.r.t. n in temporal logic is investigated. Moreover, the theory of (n) similarity degrees among modal formulas is proposed and the (n) modal logic metric space is derived therefrom which contains the classical logic metric space as a subspace. 2Organellar genome assembly methods and comparative analysis of horticultural plants显示文摘Although organellar genomes(including chloroplast and mitochondrial genomes)are smaller than nuclear genomes in size and gene number,organellar genomes are very important for the investigation of plant evolution and molecular ecology mechanisms.Few studies have focused on the organellar genomes of horticultural plants.Approximately 1193 chloroplast genomes and 199 mitochondrial genomes of land plants are available in the National Center for Biotechnology Information(NCBI),of which only 39 are from horticultural plants.In this paper,we report an innovative and efficient method for high-quality horticultural organellar genome assembly from next-generation sequencing(NGS)data.Sequencing reads were first assembled by Newbler,Amos,and Minimus software with default parameters.The remaining gaps were then filled through BLASTN search and PCR.The complete DNA sequence was corrected based on Illumina sequencing data using BWA(Burrows–Wheeler Alignment tool)software.The advantage of this approach is that there is no need to isolate organellar DNA from total DNA during sample preparation.Using this procedure,the complete mitochondrial and chloroplast genomes of an ornamental plant,Salix suchowensis,and a fruit tree,Ziziphus jujuba,were identified.This study shows that horticultural plants have similar mitochondrial and chloroplast sequence organization to other seed plants.Most horticultural plants demonstrate a slight bias toward A+T rich features in the mitochondrial genome.In addition,a phylogenetic analysis of 39 horticultural plants based on 15 protein-coding genes showed that some mitochondrial genes are horizontally transferred from chloroplast DNA.Our study will provide an important reference for organellar genome assembly in other horticultural plants.Furthermore,phylogenetic analysis of the organellar genomes of horticultural plants could accurately clarify the unanticipated relationships among these plants.Xuelin Wang Feng Cheng Dekai Rohlsen Changwei Bi Chunyan Wang Yiqing Xu Suyun Wei Qiaolin Ye Tongming Yin Ning Ye 2018Horticulture Research2018,5,1:4
3Retrieval of Aerosol Optical Depth for Chongqing Using the HJ-1 Satellite Data显示文摘Aerosol optical depth(AOD) is a common indicator applied in monitoring aerosols in the atmosphere. The hilly landscape and rapid economic growth of the megacity Chongqing have facilitated increased aerosol concentration,and it is meaningful to accurately retrieve AOD over Chongqing. The HJ-1A/B satellite of China carries a sensor/camera called the Charge Coupled Device(CCD), the spatial resolution of which meets the requirement for retrieving high resolution AOD. In this paper, analysis of the AOD retrievals from different methods using the HJ-1satellite data revealed the most suitable algorithm. Through comparison with the AOD product of Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer(MODIS), the AOD retrieval results using enhanced vegetation index(EVI) to estimate dark pixels showed the highest correlation. The continental aerosol model was used to build a lookup table that was able to facilitate a good AOD retrieval for both city and rural areas. Finally, the algorithm that combined dark pixels, buffer areas, and the deep blue algorithm was found to be most suitable for AOD retrieval. The AOD retrieval results based on the HJ-1 data were consistent with MODIS products, and our algorithm yields reasonable results in most cases. The results were also compared with ground-based PM10 measurements synchronized with the overpass time of the HJ-1 satellite, and high correlation was found. 4Genome-wide identification and characterization of WUSCHEL-related homeobox(WOX) genes in Salix suchowensis显示文摘Members of the WUSCHEL-related homeobox(WOX)transcription factor family are essential for determining cell fate and regulating diverse developmental processes in plants.Many WOX genes have been systematically investigated in woody plants such as Populus trichocarpa,but not in Salix suchowensis.Whole-genome sequence data for S.suchowensis is now available for comprehensive study of WOX genes in S.suchowensis.We thus surveyed the genome of S.suchowensis and demonstrated active expression of 15 WOX genes.In a phylogenetic analysis of WOX genes,the 15 SsWOX genes clustered among the modern/WUS,intermediate and ancient clades similar to the WOX genes of Arabidopsis thaliana.Based on the conserved intron/exon structure,SsWOX genes in the same subgroup had similar conserved exon–intron structures and motif domains.Furthermore,among several SsWOX subgroups,WUS(Wuschel)-box and EAR(the ERF-associated amphiphilic repression)-like motifs were conserved.Expression profiles of WOX genes in roots,stems and leaves indicate that SsWOX genes have various conserved roles in the tissues.Comparative analysis of the expression patterns in Salix suchowensis with that of Arabidopsis suggests that different shoot regeneration abilities are controlled by different WOX genes in plants.The analysis provide an overview of differentially expressed SsWOX genes during shoot regeneration,but also contribute to understanding the evolution of WOX genes in Salicaceae and the interrelations of WOX genes and other transcription factors,providing targets for further study.Xuelin Wang Changwei Bi Chunyan Wang Qiaolin Ye Tongming Yin Ning Ye 2019Journal of Forestry Research2019,30,5:3
5Human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells for psoriasis:a phase 1/2a,single-arm study显示文摘Psoriasis is a common,chronic immune-mediated systemic disease that had no effective and durable treatment.Mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs)have immunomodulatory properties.Therefore,we performed a phase 1/2a,single-arm clinical trial to evaluate the safety and efficacy of human umbilical cord-derived MSCs(UMSCs)in the treatment of psoriasis and to preliminarily explore the possible mechanisms.Seventeen patients with psoriasis were enrolled and received UMsC infusions.Adverse events,laboratory parameters,PASl,and PGA were analyzed.We did not observe obvious side effects during the treatment and 6-month follow-up.A total of 47.1%(8/17)of the psoriasis patients had at least 40%improvement in the PASl score,and 17.6%(3/17)had no sign of disease or minimal disease based on the PGA score.And the efficiency was 25%(2/8)for males and 66.7%(6/9)for females.After UMSC transplantation(UMSCT),the frequencies of Tregs and CD4^(+)memory T cells were significantly increased,and the frequencies of T helper(Th)17 and CD4^(+)naive T cells were significantly decreased in peripheral blood(PB)of psoriasis patients.And all responders showed significant increases in Tregs and CD4^(+)memory T cells,and significant decreases in Th17 cells and serum IL-17 level after UMsCT.And baseline level of Tregs in responders were significantly lower than those in nonresponders.In conclusion,allogeneic UMSCT is safe and partially effective in psoriasis patients,and level of Tregs may be used as a potent biomarker to predict the clinical efficacy of UMSCT.Trial registration Clinical Trials NCT03765957.Lamei Cheng Siqi Wang Cong Peng Xiao Zou Chao Yang Hua Mei Chuang Li Xian Su Na Xiao Qi Ouyang Mi Zhang Qiaolin Wang Yan Luo Minxue Shen Qun Qin Honglin Wang Wu Zhu Guangxiu Lu Ge Lin Yehong Kuang Xiang Chen 2022Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2022,7,9:2

9A Triformylphloroglucinol-based Covalent Organic Polymer:Synthesis,Characterization and Its Application in Visible-light-driven Oxidative Coupling Reactions of Primary Amines显示文摘A triformylphloroglucinol-based AiB2-typed covalent organic polymer(TFG-BPTH)was successfully constructed by the condensation reaction of triformylphloroglucinol(TFG)and 2.5-bis(2-propynyloxy)terephthalo-hydrazide(BPTH)under solvothermal conditions.The structure of the TFG-BPTH was confirmed by spectra tech-niques including FTIR and solid-state IC CP/MAS NMR spectroscopy.The mophological features of TFG-BPTH were analyzed using scanning electron microscopy(SEM)and transmission electron microscopy(TEM).The TFG-BPTH possessed good thermal and chemical stability,and exhibited good photocatalytic activity as a metal-free heterogeneous catalyst for oxidation of amines to valuable imines under visible light irradiation using O2 as greer oxidant.In addition,the catalyst could be readily recovered from the reaction mixture by simple filtration and reused for at least five cycles without any observable change in structure and catalytic activity.LI Xiaodong SU Qing LIU Ziqian LUO Kexin LI Guanghua WU Qiaolin 2020Chemical Research in Chinese Universities2020,36,6:1

12RALF signaling pathway activates MLO calcium channels to maintain pollen tube integrity显示文摘Pollen tube tip growth requires intricate Ca^(2+)signaling.Recent studies have also identified rapid alkalization factor(RALF)-family peptides and their receptors as critical components for pollen tube tip growth and integrity.The functional relationship of RALF and calcium signaling modules remains largely unclear.Here we report that disruption of RALF signaling pathway abolished the cytosolic Ca^(2+)gradient in the pollen tube,indicating that Ca^(2+)signaling is downstream of the RALF signaling pathway.We identified MILDEW RESISTANCE LOCUS O(MLO)family proteins MLO1,5,9,15,as Ca^(2+)channels required for Ca^(2+)influx and pollen tube integrity.We further reconstituted the biochemical pathway in which signaling via RALF and RALF receptors activated MLO1/5/9/15 calcium channels.Together,we conclude that RALF peptides derived from pollen tube bind to their receptors to establish pollen tube Ca^(2+)gradient through activation of the MLO channels.Our finding has thus provided a mechanistic link between the RALF signaling pathway and Casignaling in controlling pollen tube integrity and growth.^(2+)Qifei Gao Chao Wang Yasheng Xi Qiaolin Shao Congcong Hou Legong Li Sheng Luan 2023Cell Research2023,33,1:1

17Effects of biscuit-type feeding supplementation on the neurocognitive outcomes of HIV-affected school-age children:a randomized,double-blind,controlled intervention trial in Kenya显示文摘Objective:To determine if meat or soy protein dietary supplementation will enhance the neuro-cognitive performance of HIV-affected children at-risk of malnutrition and food insecurity.Methods:A randomized,double-blind,controlled intervention trial evaluated the effect of nu-tritional supplementation on the neurocognitive outcomes of 49 HIV-affected school-age children in western Kenya.The intervention consisted in providing the mother,target child,and siblings with one of three isocaloric biscuit-type supplements-soy,wheat,or beef-on 5 days per week for 18 months.Neurocognitive outcomes of the target children were assessed by a battery of eight measures and followed up longitudinally for up to 24 months.Results:Mixed effects modeling demonstrated significant differences in the rates of increase over time among all three groups(F test degrees of freedom of 2,P<0.05)for Raven’s progressive matrices performance,but not for verbal meaning,arithmetic,digit span backward,forward,and total,embedded figure test,and Beery visual-motor integration scores.Conclusion:HIV-affected school-age children provided with soy protein supplementation showed greater improvement in nonverbal cognitive(fluid intelligence)performance compared with peers who received isocaloric beef or wheat biscuits.Soy nutrients may have an enhancing effect on neurocognitive skills in HIV-affected school-age children.Kek Khee Loo Shemra Rizzo Qiaolin Chen Robert E.Weiss Catherine A.Sugar Grace Ettyang Judith Ernst Goleen Samari Charlotte G.Neumann 2017Family Medicine and Community Health2017,5,4:1

20Comparing independent climate-sensitive models of aboveground biomass and diame ter grow th with their compatible simultaneous model system for three larch species in China显示文摘Accurate estimate of tree biomass is essential for forest management.In recent years,several climate-sensitive allometric biomass models with diameter at breast height(D)as a predictor have been proposed for various tree species and climate zones to estimate tree aboveground biomass(AGB).But the allometric models only account for the potential effects of climate on tree biomass and do not simultaneously explain the influence of climate on D growth.In this study,based on the AGB data from 256 destructively sampled trees of three larch species randomly distributed across the five secondary climate zones in northeastern and northern China,we first developed a climate-sensitive AGB base model and a climate-sensitive D growth base model using a nonlinear least square regression separately.A compatible simultaneous model system was then developed with the climate-sensitive AGB and D growth models using a nonlinear seemingly unrelated regression.The potential effects of several temperature and precipitation variables on AGB and D growth were evaluated.The fitting results of climatic sensitive base models were compared against those of their compatible simultaneous model system.It was found that a decreased isothermality([mean of monthly(maximum temperatureminimum temperature)]/(Maximum temperature of the warmest month-Minimum temperature of the coldest month))and total growing season precipitation,and increased annual precipitation significantly increased the values of AGB;an increase of temperature seasonality(a standard deviation of the mean monthly temperature)and precipitation seasonality(a standard deviation of the mean monthly precipitation)could lead to the increase of D.The differences of the model fitting results between the compatible simultaneous system with the consideration of climate effects on both AGB and D growth and its corresponding climate-sensitive AGB and D growth base models were very small and insignificant(p>0.05).Compared to the base models,the inhere nt correlation of AGB with D was taken into account effectively by the proposed compatible model system developed with the climate-sensitive AGB and D grow th models.In addition,the compatible properties of the estimated AGB and D were also addressed substantially in the proposed model system.Zhigang Gao Qiuyan Wang Zongda Hus Peng Luo Guangshuang Duan Ram PSharma Qiaolin Ye Wenqiang Gao Xinyu Song Liyong Fut 2019International Journal of Biomathematics2019,12,7:1
