| 1 | The progress of catalytic technologies in water purification:A review显示文摘Catalytic technologies have been paid increasing attention in refractory pollutants abatement due to its practical and potential values in water purification.As effective and effcient approaches for water purification,Fenton's reagent,ozonation,electrochemical and photocatalytic methods have been widely studied and applied in different aspects and have been reviewed by several articles.In recent years,some novel catalytic processes based on above processes have been developed for enhancing the effciency of removing the organics from water.This review emphasized on the recent development of heterogeneous catalytic ozonation,electrocatalysis in respect of novel electrodes and electro-Fenton method,photoelectrocatalysis process and photoelectron-Fenton in water purification.It was also an attempt to propose general ideas about mechanism and principle enhancing the catalytic effciency for the degradation and the mineralization of organics in water. | LI Dapeng QU Jiuhui | 2009 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2009,21,6: | 22 |
| 2 | Recognition on the forming-vanishing process and underlying mechanisms of the hypoxia off the Yangtze River estuary显示文摘On the basis of compiled multidisciplinary historical data in 2006–2007 and incorporation of relevant simulation results and remote sensing data, we performed an in-depth study of the generation and dissipation process of the hypoxic zone and its distribution morphology and structure off the Yangtze River estuary. Based on the hydrological circulation dynamics, reproduction of phytoplankton(leading to the decomposition of organic matter), and other factors, we comprehensively and systematically investigated the generation and dissipation of the hypoxic zone and underlying mechanisms for the seasonal variation in its position, explored the multi-factorial synergistic reactions during the generation and dissipation process of the hypoxic zone, and revealed the controlled mechanism for the morphology and structure of the hypoxic zone's distribution. Our studies indicate that in the winter and spring seasons, the hydrological environment off the Yangtze River estuary provides a water body with relatively low contents of dissolved oxygen(DO), which is the background for the formation of a hypoxic zone. After entering into the summer season, the hypoxic zone gradually develops towards the north and becomes mature. Because of the impact of the terrain, local decomposition of organic matter, and upwelling of the Kuroshio subsurface water in July–August, the hypoxic zone off the Yangtze River estuary exhibits the characteristics of discontinuous distribution in space and has a south and north 'dual-core' structure in the inner continental shelf. In addition, there is a hypoxic core in the eastern outer continental shelf. The degrees of hypoxia vary for different areas; they are strongest overall in the north, next strongest in the south; they are weakest on the outer continental shelf. In summer, the hypoxic zone in the north is related to the northward differentiation of the southern hypoxic zone and results from local development and intensification. In August, the hypoxic zone in the north reaches its peak, and after September, it rapidly retreats southward and disappears because of weakening stratification. In the fall, there is hypoxic zone along the coast of Zhejiang in the south, and there is also a low-DO area to the southwest of Jeju Island, with both zones disappearing rapidly. In addition, the change of dynamic environment also causes the low-DO area of the outer continental shelf to move outward in the fall. The variation in the intensity of the stratification and its cumulative effects as a barrier of vertical DO transportation over long periods of time have a significant impact on the degree of hypoxia in the hypoxic zone. In addition, the seasonal variations in the size of the stratified region, intensity of each current system/water mass, upwelling, front, and high-value area of phytoplankton biomass jointly restrict the extension of the hypoxic zone in the inner continental shelf and latitudinal(south-north direction) movement of its location off the Yangtze River estuary. The combined effect of dynamic factors, such as that of the Kuroshio subsurface water, causes a low-DO core in the outer continental shelf. The bottom cold water to the north of the East China Sea is the dynamic basis for the formation of the low-DO area to the southwest of Jeju Island during the fall season. The special seabed topography and mud area distribution off the Yangtze River estuary have a certain degree of influence on the development of the hypoxic zone. | 4 | Current observation and analysis based on mooring systems in the Andaman Sea显示文摘The basic structure and intraseasonal evolution of currents in the southeastern Andaman Sea was analyzed based on data collected in 2017 from two subsurface moorings(C1 and C5).Periodic variation in the upper ocean currents of the Andaman Sea was investigated by combining observational and satellite data.Mooring observations show that rapid changes of current speed and direction occurred in May and June,with a significant increase in current velocity at the C1 mooring.In the second half of the year,southward flow dominated at the C1 mooring,and alternating northward and southward flows were evident at the C5 mooring during the same period but the northward flow prevailed in boreal winter.In addition,analysis of the power spectra of the upper currents revealed that the tidal period at both moorings is primarily semidiurnal with weaker energy than that of the low-frequency currents.The upper ocean currents at the C1 and C5 moorings exhibited intraseasonal variation of 30-60 d and 120 d,while the zonal current at the C1 mooring exhibited a notable period of approximately 180 d.Further analysis indicated that the variability of currents in the Andaman Sea is influenced primarily by equatorial Kelvin waves and Rossby wave packets.Moreover,our results suggest that equatorial Kelvin waves from the eastern Indian Ocean entered the Andaman Sea in the form of Wyrtki Jets and propagated primarily along two distinct pathways during the observation period.In addition to coastal boundary Kelvin waves,it was found that a branch of the Wyrtki Jet that directly enters the Andaman Sea and flows northward along the slope of the continental shelf,and reflected Rossby wave packets by topography. | Yimeng WANG Jingsong GUO Dapeng QU Zhixin ZHANG Chalermrat SANGMANEE Varintha VASINAMEKHIN Binghuo GUO | 2024 | Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2024,42,2: | 0 |
| 5 | Epidemiological study of a von Hippel-Lindau family in northwest China显示文摘von Hippel-Lindau(VHL)disease is a rare,inherited neoplastic disease characterized by hemangioblastomas(HBL)of the central nervous system(CNS),retinal angiomas,renal cell carcinomas(RCC),pancreatic endocrine tumors(PETs),pheochromocytomas,paragangliomas,and visceral cysts.We encountered a large VHL family in northwest China and conducted a systematic screening of the family members based on their epidemiological and clinical characteristics.A self-designed questionnaire was used to collect the general sociodemographic and health information of the family members.For the preliminary family screening,physical examination and abdomen B ultrasonography were performed.The suspected patients were subjected to cranial computerized tomography and fundus examination.The clinical data of the patients with confirmed VHL disease were collected from hospital records.A total of 63 lineal descendants in six generations were observed in the family(generations O,A,B,C,D,E),including 9 dead suspected cases(6 males,3 females)and 10 living cases(2 males,8 females).Among the 10 living cases,4,2,1,3,4,8,and 2 manifested HBLs of the CNS,PETs,RCC,pancreatic cysts,renal cysts,pheochromocytomas(4 hemi and 4 bilateral),and paragangliomas,respectively.Data showed that the morbidity of VHL disease in generation C was lower than that in generation B,but the age of onset was younger.This study is the first to report VHL disease in northwest China and VHL-associated PET cases in Chinese.Therefore,follow-up checkups of the family should be focused on younger generations.Proper family screening protocols should be followed for the treatment of patients with VHL disease. | Jingyao Zhang Dapeng Wu Hong Ai Jigang Bai Shunbin Dong Qinling Yang Kai Qu Lei Zhou Xinsen Xu Chang Liu | 2013 | Frontiers of Medicine2013,7,3: | 0 |

| 7 | Displacement of shale gas confined in illite shale by flue gas: A molecular simulation study显示文摘The shale gas is an unconventional supplementary energy to traditional fossil energy,and is stored in layered rocks with low permeability and porosity,which leads to the difficulty for exploration of shale gas.Therefore,using CO_(2) gas to displace shale gas has become an important topic.In this work,we use molecular simulations to study the displacement of shale gas by flue gas rather than CO_(2),in which flue gas is modeled as a binary mixture of CO_(2) and N_(2) and the shale model is represented by inorganic Illite and organic methylnaphthalene.CH_(4) is used as a shale gas model.Compared to the pure CO_(2),flue gas is easily available and the cost of displacement by flue gas would become lower.Results indicate that the pore size of shale is an important factor in the process of displacing shale gas and simultaneously sequestrating flue gas,while the flue gas N_(2)-CO_(2) ratio shows a small effect on the process of CH_(4) displacement,because the high partial pressure of flue gas is the main driving force for displacement of shale gas.Moreover,the geological condition also has a significant effect on the process of CH_(4) displacement by flue gas.Therefore,we suggest that the burial depth of 1 km is suitable operation condition for shale gas displacement.It is expected that this work provides a useful guidance for exploitation of shale gas and sequestration of greenhouse gas. | Tong Tao Shitao Wang Yixin Qu Dapeng Cao | 2021 | Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2021,34,1: | 0 |
