| 1 | Useful detection of CD147 (EMMPRIN) for pathological diagnosis of early hepatocellular carcinoma in needle biopsy samples显示文摘AIM:To make clear whether CD147 (EMMPRIN) expression in pathological tumor samples with a fine-needle aspiration biopsy is useful for pathological diagnosis of early hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). METHODS:Twenty-two patients (15 men and 7 women; median age 68 years,range 56-81 years) underwent a liver tissue biopsy in order to make a diagnosis of HCC. Paraffin-embedded liver biopsy tissue samples from 22 patients were stained with anti-CD147 antibody,murine monoclonal antibody 12C3 (MAb12C3) for immunohistochemical analysis. An immunohistochemical analysis of CD147 was performed and the degree of staining compared between tumor and non-tumor tissue. In addition,the degree of staining within tumor tissue was compared according to a number of clinicopathological variables. | 2 | Current status in remnant gastric cancer after distal gastrectomy显示文摘Remnant gastric cancer(RGC) and gastric stump cancer after distal gastrectomy(DG) are recognized as the same clinical entity. In this review, the current knowledges as well as the non-settled issues of RGC are presented. Duodenogastric reflux and denervation of the gastric mucosa are considered as the two main factors responsible for the development of RGC after benign disease. On the other hand, some precancerous circumstances which already have existed at the time of initial surgery, such as atrophic gastritis and intestinal metaplasia, are the main factors associated with RGC after gastric cancer. Although eradication of Helicobacter pylori(H. pylori) in remnant stomach is promising, it is still uncertain whether it can reduce the risk of carcinogenesis. Periodic endoscopic surveillance after DG was reported useful in detecting RGC at an early stage, which offers a chance to undergo minimally invasive endoscopic treatment or laparoscopic surgery and leads to an improved prognosis in RGC patients. | 3 | Staging systems for hepatocellular carcinoma: Current status and future perspectives显示文摘Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) is a major health concern worldwide and the third cause of cancer-related death. Despite advances in treatment as well as careful surveillance programs, the mortality rates in most countries are very high. In contrast to other cancers, the prognosis and treatment of HCC depend on the tumor burden in addition to patient's underlying liver disease and liver functional reserve. Moreover, thereis considerable geographic and institutional variation in both risk factors attributable to the underlying liver diseases and the management of HCC. Therefore, although many staging and/or scoring systems have been proposed, there is currently no globally accepted system for HCC due to the extreme heterogeneity of the disease. The aim of this review is to focus on currently available staging systems as well as those newly reported in the literatures since 2012. | 4 | Influences of additives on phosphoric acid treatment of titanium dioxide as a novel white pigment显示文摘Titanium dioxide is a photocatalytically active substance used as a white pigment for cosmetics.In sunlight,titanium dioxide catalyzes decomposition of a certain amount of sebum on the skin by ultraviolet radiation.Herein,a novel white pigment for use in cosmetics was developed from titanium dioxide and phosphoric acid at pH=4 with and without glycerin,sodium lactate,lactic acid,and urea.The chemical composition,powder properties,photocatalytic activity,color phase,and smoothness of the samples were studied.Addition of glycerin led to a decline in the intensity of the X-ray diffraction(XRD)peak of TiO_(2) relative to that of the other samples.The particle size of the materials prepared with and without additives was 0.3μm;however,extensive aggregation was observed in the obtained materials.The photocatalytic activity of TiO_(2) was inhibited by phosphoric acid treatment.The materials prepared with sodium lactate,lactic acid,and glycerin exhibited higher photocatalytic activity than that prepared without additives.The obtained materials showed a high reflectance in the range of visible light,and the L^(*)values in L^(*)a^(*)b^(*) color space were high(where L^(*)defines lightness,a^(*) denotes the red/green value,and b^(*) the yellow/blue value).These results indicate that the samples prepared in this work are suitable for use as white pigments. | Aki MATSUKURA Hiroaki ONODA | 2015 | Journal of Advanced Ceramics2015，4，3： | 5 |
