| 8 | Experimental salt cavern in offshore ultra-deep water and well designevaluation for CO_(2) abatement显示文摘This paper presents a proposal for an experimental salt cavern in offshore ultra-deep water for CO2 abatement, including the instrumentation plan and well conceptual design evaluated for carbon capture and storage(CCS)application. These studies are based on applied computational mechanics associated with field experimentation that has contributed to the technical feasibility of the underground potash mine at the State of Sergipe in Brazil. This knowhow allowed the stability analysis of several salt caverns for brine production at the State of Alagoas in Brazil and to the drilling through stratified thick layers of salt of the pre-salt reservoirs in Santos Basin. Now,this knowledge has been applied in the design of onshore and offshore salt caverns opened by dissolution for storage of natural gas and CO2.The geomechanical study, through the application of computational mechanics,of offshore giant salt caverns of 450 m high by 150 m in diameter, shows that one cavern can store about 4 billion Sm3 or 7.2 million tons of CO2.Before the construction of the giant cavern, which will be the first gas storage offshore in the world,it has been decided to develop an experimental one, with smaller size,to obtained field parameters. The experimental cavern will allow the calibration of parameters to be used in the structural integrity analysis of the cavern and well for storage of natural gas which is rich in CO2 under high pressure. | Alvaro Maia da Costa Pedro V.M.Costa Antonio C.O.Miranda Mariana B.R.Goulart Okhiria D.Udebhulu Nelson F.F.Ebecken Ricardo C.Azevedo Sérgio M.de Eston Giorgio de Tomi Andre B.Mendes Julio R.Meneghini Kazuo Nishimoto Claudio Mueller Sampaio Camila Brandao Alexandre Breda | 2019 | International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2019,29,5: | 1 |
| 9 | Phytotoxic effect of Sesbania virgata(Cav.) Pers.on seeds of agronomic and forestry species显示文摘Sesbania virgata(Cav.) Pers.is a pioneer species native to South America able to release allelochemicals that affect germination and development of other plant species. The aim of this work was to evaluate the allelopathic effect of S.virgata on the germination and development of co-occurring species from gallery forest and on agronomic species. Two forest native species,Enterolobium contortisiliquum(Vell.) Morong and Sapindus saponaria L.,and two agronomic species(these as control),Oryza sativa L.and Solanum lycopersicum L.were used in the lab and greenhouse assays with seeds and leaf extracts of S.virgata.Agronomic species were more affected than native species when co-germinated with seeds of S.virgata.The germination percentage and speed germination index of the agronomic species were reduced in both in vitro and greenhouse assays. In the same assays, the seeds of native species showed no significant differences in the parameters mentioned. However, the initial growth of the four species assayed was affected, with reduction in plant length and shoot diameter followed by significant reduction in plantlet shoot and root weights. In the assays with irrigation of S.virgata leaf extracts,no significant inhibitory effects on germination were observed for all species.Height and shoot diameter of the native species were not affected by the leaf extracts, nor were fresh and dry weights. However, these parameters increased in the agronomic species as they were irrigated with leaf extracts.Based on our data we conclude that seed leachates of S.virgata affect germination and seedling development of other species, suggesting that its invasive behavior is due mainly to seed allelochemicals.Although with less pronounced effects on native species, allelopathy of S.virgata might also influence Interspecific competition in its natural environment. | Vera Lygia El Id Bárbara Vale da Costa Daiane Salete Broch Mignoni Marina Belloni Veronesi Kelly Simoes Marcia Regina Braga Nelson Augusto dos Santos Junior | 2015 | Journal of Forestry Research2015,26,2: | 0 |

| 11 | Hepatobiliary phases in magnetic resonance imaging using liverspecific contrast for focal lesions in clinical practice显示文摘BACKGROUND Challenging lesions, difficult to diagnose through non-invasive methods, constitute an important emotional burden for each patient regarding a still uncertain diagnosis(malignant x benign). In addition, from a therapeutic and prognostic point of view, delay in a definitive diagnosis can lead to worse outcomes. One of the main innovative trends currently is the use of molecular and functional methods to diagnosis.Numerous liver-specific contrast agents havebeen developed and studied in recent years to improve the performance of liver magnetic resonance imaging(MRI).More recently, one of the contrast agents introduced in clinical practice is gadoxetic acid(gadoxetate disodium).AIM To demonstrate the value of the hepatobiliary phases using gadoxetic acid in MRI for the characterization of focal liver lesions(FLL)in clinical practice.METHODS Overall,302 Lesions were studied in 136 patients who underwent MRI exams using gadoxetic acid for the assessment of FLL.Two radiologists independently reviewed the MRI exams using four stages, and categorized them on a 6-point scale, from 0(lesion not detected)to 5(definitely malignant). The stages were:stage 1-images without contrast, stage 2-addition of dynamic phases after contrast(analogous to usual extracellular contrasts),stage 3-addition of hepatobiliary phase after 10 min(HBP 10’),stage 4-hepatobiliary phase after 20 min(HBP 20’)in addition to stage 2.RESULTS The interobserver agreement was high(weighted Kappa coefficient:0.81-1)at all stages in the characterization of benign and malignant FLL.The diagnostic weighted accuracy(Az)was 0.80 in stage 1 and was increased to 0.90 in stage 2.Addition of the hepatobiliary phase increased Az to 0.98 in stage 3,which was also 0.98 in stage 4.CONCLUSION The hepatobiliary sequences improve diagnostic accuracy. With growing potential in the era of precision medicine, the improvement and dissemination of the method among medical specialties can bring benefits in the management of patients with FLL that are difficult to diagnose. | Daniel Alvarenga Fernandes Eduardo Andreazza Dal Lago Felipe Aguera Oliver Bruna Melo Coelho Loureiro Daniel Lahan Martins Thiago José Penachim Ricardo Hoelz de Oliveira Barros José de ArimatéiaBatista Araújo Filho Larissa Bastos Eloy da Costa Áurea Maria Oliveira da Silva Elaine Cristina de Ataíde Ilka de Fátima Santana Ferreira Boin Nelson Marcio Gomes Caserta | 2022 | World Journal of Hepatology2022,14,7: | 0 |
