1Quantitative analysis of cefixime via complexation with palladium(Ⅱ) in pharmaceutical formulations by spectrophotometry显示文摘An optimized and validated spectrophotometric method has been developed for the determination of cefixime in pharmaceutical formulations. The method is based on the complexation reaction between cefixime and palladium ion in the presence of acidic buffer solution (pH 3) in ethanol-distilled water medium at room temperature. The complex absorbed maximally at 352 nm. Beer's law is obeyed in the working concentration range of 2.5-35 μg/mL with apparent molar absorptivity of 1.015×104L/mol cm and Sandell's sensitivity of 0.001 μg/cm2 /0.001 absorbance unit. The limits of detection and quantitation for the proposed method are 0.175 and 0.583 μg/mL, respectively. The effect of common excipients used as additives has been studied in the determination of cefixime. The proposed method has been successfully applied for the determination of cefixime in pharmaceutical formulations. Prompt diagnosis and appropriate surgical treatment is crucial to achieve satisfactory functional outcomes. A conjoint bicondylar coronal split (Hoffa) fracture with complete transaction of ipsilateral patellar tendon has been reported in a 12 year old child. The injury was managed by open reduction and internal fixation and bone to ten don repair. 7Pharmacological insights into Chukrasia velutina bark:Experimental and computer-aided approaches显示文摘Background:Chukrasia velutina is an enthnomedicinally used plant reported to have significant medicinal values.The present study aimed to explore the pharmacological activities of bark methanol extract using in vitro,in vivo and in silico models.Methods:The study was designed to investigate the pharmacological effects of methanol extract of Chukrasia velutina bark(MECVB)through in vitro,in vivo and in silico assays.Analgesic activity was tested using formalin-i nduced nociception and acetic acid-i nduced writhing assays while the antipyretic effect was tested using yeast-i nduced hyperthermia in mice model.The antioxidant effect was tested using the DPPH and reducing power assay and the cytotoxic screening was tested using the brine shrimp lethality bioassay.In addition,in silico studies were conducted using computer aided methods.Results:In the acetic acid-i nduced writhing assay,the extract showed 28.36%and 56.16%inhibition of writhing for doses of 200 and 400 mg/kg,respectively.Moreover,a dose-dependent formalin-i nduced licking response was observed in both early and late phase.In yeast-i nduced pyrexia,the MECVB exhibited(p<0.05)antipyretic effect.The extract demonstrated an ICvalue of 78.86μg/ml compared with ascorbic acid(IC23.53μg/ml)in the DPPH scavenging assay.The compounds sitosterol,5,7-dimethoxycoumarin and scopoletin were seen be effective in molecular docking scores against COX-I(2OYE),COX-II(6COX)and human peroxiredoxin 5(1HD2).In ADME/T analysis,5,7-dimethoxycoumarin and scopoletin satisfied Lipinski’s rule of five and thus are potential drug candidates.Conclusion:The bark of Chukrasia velutina showed significant analgesic and antipyretic properties and is a potential source of natural anti-oxidative agents.Israt Jahan Shahenur Alam Sakib Najmul Alam Mohuya Majumder Sanjida Sharmin A.S.M.Ali Reza 2022Animal Models and Experimental Medicine2022,5,4:0

10Interaction of point defects with twin boundaries in Au: A molecular dynamics study显示文摘The molecular dynamics simulation technique with many-body and semi-empirical potentials (based on the embedded atom method potentials) has been used to calculate the interactions of point defects with (1 1 1), (1 1 3), and (1 2 0) twin boundaries in Au at different temperatures. The interactions of single-, di-, and tri-vacancies (at on- and off-mirror sites) with the twin interfaces at 300 K are calculated. All vacancy clusters are favorable at the on-mirror arrangement near the (1 1 3) twin boundary. Single- and di-vacancies are more favorable at the on-mirror sites near the (1 1 1) twin boundary, while they are favorable at the off-mirror sites near the (1 2 0) twin boundary. Almost all vacancy clusters energetically prefer to lie in planes closest to the interface rather than away from it, except for tri-vacancies near the (1 2 0) interface at the off-mirror site and for 3.3 and 3.4 vacancy clusters at both sites near the (1 1 1) interface, which are favorable away from the interface.
