2GNP6,a novel allele of MOC1,regulates panicle and tiller development in rice显示文摘The yield of rice is mostly affected by three factors,namely,panicle number,grain number and grain weight.Variation in panicle and grain numbers is mainly caused by tiller and panicle branches generated from axillary meristems(AMs).MOC1 encodes a putative GRAS family nuclear protein that regulates AM formation.Although several alleles of MOC1 have been identified,its variation in germplasm resources remains unclear.In the present study we characterized a novel mocl allele named gnp6 which has a thymine insertion in the coding sequence of the SAW motif in the GRAS domain.This mutation causes arrested branch formation.The SAW motif is necessary for nuclear localization of GNP6/MOC1 where it functions as a transcription factor or co-regulator.Haplotype analysis showed that the coding region of GNP6/MOC1 was conserved without any non-synonymous mutations in 240 rice accessions.However,variation in the promoter region might affect the expression of it and its downstream genes.Joint haplotype analysis of GNP6/MOC1 and MOC3 showed that haplotype combinations H9,H10 and H11,namely MOC1-Hap1 in combination with MOC3-Hap3,MOC3-Hap4 or MOC3-Hap5 could be bred to promote branch formation.These findings will enrich the genetic resources available for rice breeders.Zhanying Zhang Xingming Sun Xiaoqian Ma Bingxia Xu Yong Zhao Zhiqi Ma Gangling Li Najeeb Ullah Khan Yinghua Pan Yuntao Liang Hongliang Zhang Jinjie Li Zichao Li 2021The Crop Journal2021,9,1:6

4Black phosphorus-based field effect transistor devices for Ag ions detection显示文摘Black phosphorus(BP), an attractive two-dimensional(2 D) semiconductor, is widely used in the fields of optoelectronic devices, biomedicine, and chemical sensing. Silver ion(Ag^+), a commonly used additive in food industry, can sterilize and keep food fresh. But excessive intake of Ag^+will harm human health. Therefore, high sensitive, fast and simple Ag+detection method is significant. Here, a high-performance BP field effect transistor(FET) sensor is fabricated for Ag^+detection with high sensitivity, rapid detection speed, and wide detection concentration range. The detection limit for Ag^+is 10^(-10) mol/L. Testing time for each sample by this method is 60 s. Besides, the mechanism of BP-FET sensor for Ag^+detection is investigated systematically. 5Variations in OsSPL10 confer drought tolerance by directly regulating OsNAC2 expression and ROS production in rice显示文摘Drought is a major factor restricting the production of rice(Oryza sativa L.).The identification of natural variants for drought stress-related genes is an important step toward developing genetically improved rice varieties.Here,we characterized a member of the SQUAMOSA PROMOTER BINDING PROTEIN-LIKE(SPL)family,OsSPL10,as a transcription factor involved in the regulation of drought tolerance in rice.OsSPL10 appears to play a vital role in drought tolerance by controlling reactive oxygen species(ROS)production and stomatal movements.Haplotype and allele frequency analyses of OsSPL10 indicated that most upland rice and improved lowland rice varieties harbor the OsSPL10Hap1allele,whereas the OsSPL10Hap2allele was mainly present in lowland and landrace rice varieties.Importantly,we demonstrated that the varieties with the OsSPL10Hap1allele showed low expression levels of OsSPL10 and its downstream gene,OsNAC2,which decreases the expression of OsAP37 and increases the expression of OsCOX11,thus preventing ROS accumulation and programmed cell death(PCD).Furthermore,the knockdown or knockout of OsSPL10 induced fast stomatal closure and prevented water loss,thereby improving drought tolerance in rice.Based on these observations,we propose that OsSPL10 confers drought tolerance by regulating OsNAC2 expression and that OsSPL10Hap1could be a valuable haplotype for the genetic improvement of drought tolerance in rice.Yingxiu Li Shichen Han Xingming Sun Najeeb Ullah Khan Qun Zhong Zhanying Zhang Hongliang Zhang Feng Ming Zichao Li Jinjie Li 2023Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2023,65,4:2

8RBF Based Localized Method for Solving Nonlinear Partial Integro-Differential Equations显示文摘In this work,a numerical scheme is constructed for solving nonlinear parabolictype partial-integro differential equations.The proposed numerical scheme is based on radial basis functions which are local in nature like finite difference numerical schemes.The radial basis functions are used to approximate the derivatives involved and the integral is approximated by equal width integration rule.The resultant differentiation matrices are sparse in nature.After spatial approximation using RBF the partial integro-differential equations reduce to the system of ODEs.Then ODEs system can be solved by various types of ODE solvers.The proposed numerical scheme is tested and compared with other methods available in literature for different test problems.The stability and convergence of the present numerical scheme are discussed.Marjan Uddin Najeeb Ullah Syed Inayat Ali Shah 2020Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences2020,,6:1

11Transcriptome and metabolome profiling of unheading in F1 hybrid rice显示文摘Heading date is a crucial agronomic trait.However,rice usually delays heading due to the photoperiod,temperature,hormones or age.The present research was conducted to analyze the mechanism cotrlling heading date in F,hybrid rice.We constructed two test-crossing populations using two introgression lines(ILs),P20 and P21 coming from SH527/FH838 as the male parent,respectively,and male sterile line Jin23A as the female parent.Meanwhile,the F,hybrids of H20,obtained by mating P20 with Jin23A and having no heading,and H21,from the crossing between P21 and Jin23A having normal heading,were both observed under long days.Here,we analyzed the photoperiodic response of F,hybrids by transcriptome and metabolome profiling.The greater differences displayed in the transcriptome and the metabolome were caused by photoperiod(exogenous)instead of genes(endogenous).The coping mechanism resulted from long days(LD)in H20,leading to differences in the circadian rhythm and glutathione metabolism relative to other samples.The circadian oscillator and GSH/GSSG cycle typically regulate ROS homeostasis,and both of them are responsible for modulating ROS in H20 under LD condition.Both circadian rhythm genes and the reported genes related to heading date function via the DHD1/OsMFT1-Ehd1-RFT1-OsMADS14/OsMADS18 pathway and the glutathione metabolism pathway by regulating oxidative reduction processes.Both pathways are involved in the heading process and they interacted through the oxidative reduction process which was induced by photoperiod regulation,and all of them collectively modulated the heading process.The results of this study will be helpful for unraveling the mechanism of F,hybrid responses to unheading under LD condition.WANG Jie WEIS hao-bo WANG Chun-chao Najeeb Ullah KHAN ZHANG Zhan-ying WANG Wen-sheng ZHAO Xiu-qin ZHANG Hong-liang LI Zi-chao GAO Yong-ming 2020Journal of Integrative Agriculture2020,19,10:0
12Evaluation of Tomato Hybrids for Resistance against Tomato Mosaic Virus(ToMV)显示文摘Tomato mosaic virus(ToMV)drastically affects the tomato production worldwide.To deal with this problem,breeding of ToMV-resistant hybrids/varieties is the ultimate need and most successful approach.In wild tomato species,three dominant ToMV-resistant genes(Tm-1,Tm-2 and Tm-2^(2))were identified and the World Vegetable Center developed few fresh market tomato lines resistant to ToMV by the introgression of these genes.Recently at Nuclear Institute for Agriculture and Biology,Faisalabad,Pakistan a breeding programme was initiated to develop high yielding and ToMV tolerant hybrids using these lines.Current study was performed to screen elite F1 hybrids carrying Tm gene along with their parents against ToMV using mechanical inoculation,confirmation of the virus using DAS-ELISA and marker assisted selection of hybrids.Out of 28 hybrids and 17 parent accessions/genotypes,eight hybrids and five accessions were found to be highly resistant and the virus was not detected in DAS-ELISA.Five hybrids were resistant,nine hybrids and four genotypes were tolerant,while the remaining six hybrids and eight genotypes were susceptible.For the confirmation of Tm-2^(2) gene,the tomato hybrids and their parents were subjected to molecular analysis using cleaved amplified polymorphic sequence(CAPS)primers.The result of CAPS markers for the confirmation of Tm-2^(2) gene was found consistent with phenotypic data of the inoculated tomato genotypes/hybrids.Higher phenolic content,total soluble proteins,better CAT and SOD activities were positively correlated with resistance.Screening results based on phenotype,biochemical and molecular marker data indicate that hybrids carrying Tm-2^(2) gene are good sources of resistance against ToMV.Sahar Nadeem Najeeb Ullah Khalid Pervaiz Akhtar Amjad Hameed Muhammad Yussouf Saleem 2022Journal of Botanical Research2022,4,2:0
13Behavioral effects of a four-wing attractor with circuit realization: a cryptographic perspective on immersion显示文摘In this paper,we propose an innovative chaotic system,combining fractional derivative and sinehyperbolic nonlinearity with circuit execution.The study of this system is conducted via an analog circuit simulator,using two anti-parallel semiconductor diodes to provide hyperbolic sine nonlinearity,and to function as operational amplifiers.The multi-stability of the system is also enhanced with the help of multi-equilibrium points for distinct real orders of system.The system explores the generation of a four-wing attractor in different phases,both numerically and electronically.By changing the input parameters of the system,different graphs are generated for current flow in state,phase,and space,to confirm the precision of the fractional order derivatives.A reasonable simulation shows that the deliberate circuit provides effective chaos in terms of speed and accuracy,which is comensurate with the numerical simulation.This nonlinear chaotic behavior is utilized to encrypt sound(.wav),images(.jpg),and animated(.gif)data which are a major requirement for the security of communication systems.The proposed circuit performs chaos and cryptographic tasks with high-effective analog computation,and constitutes a novel approach to this area of research.Najeeb Alam Khan Muhammad Ali Qureshi Tooba Hameed Saeed Akbar Saif Ullah 2020Communications in Theoretical Physics2020,72,12:0
