| 2 | Analgesic, antibacterial and central nervous system depressant activities of Albizia procera leaves显示文摘Objective:To ascertain analgesic, antibacterial and central nervous system(CNS)depressant activities of ethyl acetate, dichloromethane and carbon tetrachloride fractions of methanol extract of Albizia proceru(A.procera)leaves.Methods:Leaves extracts of A.procera were tested for analgesic activity by acetic acid induced and formalin test method in mice. The in vitro antibacterial activity was performed by agar well diffusion method.CNS depressant activity was evaluated by hole cross and open field tests. Results:All the extracts at 200 mg/kg exhibited significant(P<0.01)analgesic activity in acetic acid induced and formalin tests method in mice.Analgesic activity of the ethyl acetate fraction was almost same like as standard drug indomelhacin in acetic acid induced method. The CNS depressant activity of the extracts at 500 mg/kg was comparable to the positive control diazepam as determined by hole cross and open field test method. The extracts exhibited moderate antimicrobial activity against all the tested microorganisms(Staphylococcus aureus,Bacillus cereus,Pseudomonas aeruginosa,Esherichia coli,Shigetta soneii.Shigella boydii)at concentration of 0.8 mg/disc.The measured diameter of zone of inhibition for the extracts was within the range of 7 to 12 mm which was less than the standard kanamycin(16-24 mm). Conclusions:It is concluded that all the extracts possess potential analgesic and CNS depressants activity. This study also showed that different fractions of methanol extract could be potential sources of new antimicrobial agents. | Mahfuza Khatoon Hajera Khatun Ekramul Islam Shahnaj Parvin | 2014 | Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Biomedicine2014,4,4: | 1 |

| 4 | Design and Analysis of Parabolic Trough Solar Water Heating System显示文摘Renewable energy technology is one of the prospective sources which can meet the energy demand and can contribute to achieve sustainable development goals.Concentrated collectors are widely used in solar thermal power generation and water heating system also.It is very popular due to its high thermal efficiency, simple construction requirements and low manufacturing cost. This paper is concerned with an experimental study of parabolic trough collector for water heating technology. It focuses on the performance of concentrating solar collector by changing the reflector materials(aluminum sheet, aluminum foil and mirror film). In Bangladesh,it is possible to use low cost solar concentrating technologies for domestic as well as industrial process heat applications. The line focusing parabolic trough collectors have been designed, developed and evaluated its performance by collecting solar radiation, inlet and outlet water temperature, flow rate, efficiency etc. | Samia Tabassum Laila Sharmin Muhammad Shahriar Bashar Mashudur Rahaman Sumon Chandra Debnath Mahfuza Khanam | 2019 | Journal of Architectural Environment & Structural Engineering Research2019,2,3: | 1 |

| 7 | Development and validation of a simple UV spectrophotometric method for the determination of levofloxacin both in bulk and marketed dosage formulations显示文摘A rapid, specific and economic UV spectrophotometric method has been developed using a solvent composed of water:methanol:acetonitrile (9:0.5:0.5) to determine the levofloxacin content in bulk and pharmaceutical dosage formulations. At a pre-determined λmax of 292 nm, it was proved linear in the range of 1.0-12.0 μg/mL, and exhibited good correlation coefficient (R2 0.9998) and excellent mean recovery (99.00-100.07%). This method was successfully applied to the determination of levofloxacin content in five marketed brands from Bangladesh and the results were in good agreement with the label claims. The method was validated statistically and by recovery studies for linearity, precision, repeatability, and reproducibility. The obtained results proved that the method can be employed for the routine analysis of levofloxacin in bulks as well as in the commercial formulations. | Mahfuza Maleque Md. | 8 | Impact of River Water Quality on Public Health in Perspective of Asian Rivers:A Case Study of Buriganga River,Bangladesh显示文摘Water pollution is one of the current global problems. So many countries are suffering from this problem specifically most South Asian and Southeast Asian countries, and Bangladesh is one of those countries that are suffering from water pollution.Furthermore, the city of Bangladesh,Dhaka is one of the most densely populated cities in the world and overpopulation is showing a negative impact on the water quality now. Most of the rivers are very polluted around Dhaka city because of anthropogenic causes. This study focused on Buriganga river pollution and its impact on public health. This study intended to find out the major cause of Buriganga river pollution and the health status of the community living beside the Buriganga river. Also the study identified all the common diseases which people are suffering from around the Buriganga river area. Then the study compared the results with other southeast Asian countries so that it can make the relationship and can make it easier to understand the current situation of water pollution on public health in East Asia and Southeast Asia regions.During the research work,it was noticed that the Buriganga river is very polluted due to human activities. The transportation system, fishing, and waste canals from industries become the primary reasons behind Buriganga’s current condition. Also irresponsibility of both the environmental department and civil society is the major factor in Buriganga river pollution. The hygienic level was also not in a good condition because so many wastes like plastic materials and other daily use materials were thrown out into the river. That’s why public health conditions around the Buriganga river become vulnerable nowadays. So policies have to be implemented from the right perspective and the institutions have to be strong enough to handle all the issues regarding the Buriganga River. | A.B.M.Kamal Pasha Mustafe Said Nur Sagar Mozumder Mahfuza Parveen | 2023 | Journal of Environmental & Earth Sciences2023,5,1: | 0 |
